Not a bad teacher, he seems like he would be a much better Chemistry 101 or Organic chemistry teacher. He is much better then some of the other teachers in the dept. I would take Ogar before Oxy, but work hard and you'll do fine. Hes very helpful if you talk to him during office hours. you will get used to his accent.

Prof. Oxy is the best!!!!! He makes chemistry really fun and easy. he gives a ridculous amount of bonus points only for showing up to class. if u show up to class and pay attention you cant get anything lower than an A

THE BEST TEACHER FOR CHEM!! HE IS SO UNDERSTANDING. NOT VERY SIMPLE, BUT REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS. 8 QUIZES ONLY 6 COUNT. 3 TESTS WHICH R A LITTLE COMPLICATED BUT IF U STUDY YOU WILL DO GOOD. HE IS TRULY THE BEST. YOU WILL REALLY LEARN CHEMISTRY WITH THIS GUY WHILE ALSO HAVING FUN. HE IS A GOOD PERSON AND A FUNNY GUY!! HE GIVES E.C !!! A+++

Dr. Oxy is a very nice teacher and a very helpful teacher. He is the best chemistry teacher in Pierce college. Take him if you want to learn chemistry and get good grades.

Very nice personality, his accent was not really a problem for me. The exams are really hard even though I did all the homework and all the problems sets I could not manage to get a n A in any of his tests. He curved greatly though, so at the end I got an A. He is easy on the lab but not on the conclusion of the reports. His office hours... A+

Warning to lazy students. this isnt for you. If you are really into learning and want to make a successful college career he is worth adding to your agenda. He is funny, his accent is cute, and he is passionate about what he teaches. Yes, he is hard. But you cant expect to sail through school, DUh. Take him if you really care about learning!

LECTURE->[Upside] Funny and very entertaining, accent might be reason for paying attention, nice guy, uses analogies everyone remembers and understands. [Downside] Takes role at random days, tests are moderately difficult (only if you didn't study) LAB->[Upside] Easy points! [Downside] Some labs are fustrating, but 1 or 2 out of around 23 labs.

Listen up...to any moron who has anything bad to say about oxy, listen up. If you want to end up in a loser institute like CSUN, don't take Oxy. You won't need the good foundation in O chem that he develops within each student. I'm now a graduate from UCLA, and everything Oxy has taught me is still in good use. He's amazing. Do your hw, go to class

Dr. Oxy is a great teacher! I only had him for lab, but he's really nice! He explains exactly what you're supposed to do in the lab before hand, and writes down all the formulas you need to do the lab reports on the board & he's just really easygoing! You dont even have to get the lab reports right.. he still gives you a bunch of points for trying

dr.oxy is a very good teacher & he cares about his student. i learned from him more than i learned from any other chem prof. but... when it comes to grading (especially getting an A) he's the worst! even if you're the best student in class it doesn't mean u'll get an A!! if u wanna learn - he's the best. if you need a good grade - find someone else

I have nothing to complain about the class I am taking with Dr. "Oxy". He is extremly helpful and fun...Take him for your class. That is my advice.

Oxy is such a sweet man. I had him for lab. He is such a fun teacher. He always tells you not to be too obsessive about following the book as long as you keep track of what you are doing. Really great scientist. Gives lots of points on labs for trying. HATES stupid questions, such as where is the stapler, but who doesn't?

I took Dr. Oxy for lab, and he's hilarious and makes class fun and interesting. His comments like, "Eye ball it" and his realistic approach to chemistry made this class fun. He's the only reason I stuck around in this class.

Dr. Oxy is very interesting. He enjoys teaching and throws in jokes here and there to make the class fun. Lectures, however, tend to be long and a bit tedious. You must not slack off in his class since the exams are a bit difficult. If you have taken AP chemistry in high school, this class is mostly review.

Currently in the middle of the semester of his chem 102 class. Great professor and very helpful. He makes difficult concepts seem easier for us. Lots of work, but it's worth it.

...easier than HW from the book IMO. He wants you to pass, he even dropped our 2 lowest tests out of 4 and offered a lot of bonus pts. He also accepts late work. He really does try to look out for his students. Neg: Sometimes went off topic in lecture. Didnt stick to his lecture schedule so there was a lot of material to cover the last few weeks.

Amazing professor honestly these negative reviews may just be bitter students.He is EXTREMELY helpful and will go out of his way to help you understand the subject. There was like a storm out there and he still came to do a review session the day before the final just for us students who does that. and by the way I currently have a C.

Dr Oxy is a very good prof. Those in prev. reviews have said he was late, but aside from 2 days he was mostly on time. Very personable & helpful. Dr. Oxy is a great professor. Chemistry is hard there is no doubt about that. But Dr. Oxy will go out of his way to address all your questions. In order to do well in his class you must do your homework and then ask him questions on any part of material that you do not get.

He is a very approachable proffesor-very nice; he is very knowledgable in the subject but students need to put in a lot of mental work to understand the subject.

I love Dr. Oxyzolou. This man is so kind hearted, and although his class is tough, he makes you enjoy science and the subject because of his Greek personality. He is awesome, and although I got a B, I really believe Pierce needs to hire more teachers like Oxy. I recommend him!

Chem 101 is more challenging than 102. His lectures are straight from the book. That is one of the reasons why students wouldn't show up. I was pretty confused all semester, although I managed to pass his class. He was very helpful in lab. He makes it clear on what he wants you to do step by step.

He knows his O chem stuff but its hard to understand the concept itself. Its a hard class and he tries his best to teach. Hes such a sweetheart and does whatever he can to help his students. He curves everything.

Took Ochem 1&2. He is a great professor.If u study he won't let u down.211Final had a long synthesis, but the question after that had hints to intermediate steps. 212 had "EASY" synthesis. If you have problems he will help.Each point you lose is 0.1% on ur final grade.Study the book add extra stuff from lecture to it, do the homework, u will get A.

If you want to spend 30 hours a week doing Mastering chemistry homework and ruin your GPA by his Net-picky personality and grading style and even take practical lab exam, please take him.

Organic chemistry is a hard subject. Don't be mistaken. Dr. Oxy is fair and helpful. He truly wants you to do well. And homework is not worth much, but you won't do well on exams unless you practice a lot of problems. I suggest going to class every time because missing anything is extremely detrimental. Totally feasible, though. Good luck!

O-Chem is TOUGH, but Dr. Oxy walks you through all of it. Attend class, come prepared to discussion and you're guaranteed to pass. Exams are similar to discussion. Regarding other reviews about safety, Dr. Oxy doesn't skip any measures to ensure safety in lab. He has a watchful eye over the lab and has improved safety standards at Pierce's Labs.

Dr. Oxy is a very caring person. He sets you up to succeed. Throughout chem 211 & 212 he spent hours with us in his office whenever we needed clarification. He is so patient 1 guy asked the stupidest questions all year & Dr. Oxy always answered them all w.o any remarks. In short great teacher an A is achievable. Wish he could teach all my classes!

He is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He really cares about his students and hopes they all succeed. You have to put in the work to see results, but after putting the work you start seeing organic chemistry in a different light. The class not only taught me about the subject material, but it also opened my eyes about the world.

If you do the work and try hard you will pass with a decent grade there are 2 dropped tests and a curve. Not an easy class, there is lots of work and expect to spend several hours a day studying. The instructor has lots of office hours for extra help. He takes safety seriously so bring your goggles and lab coats if you don't want to lose points.

Dr. Oxy is one of the best professors I have had at Pierce. He really cares about his students. Wearing goggles and lab coat in lab is mandatory. He constantly walks around in lab sessions making sure you're doing everything safely, and disposing substances correctly. Register for his class before it's full because he won't add you if lab is full!

Everything with the exception of data collected from experiments is typed. You need to prepare a pre-lab and and the procedure BEFORE each lab. You get 1 week to complete the post-lab. Late work and resubmitted work is accepted (for reduced credit). Extra credit is minimal. Lab procedures are explained beforehand so show up on time. Lenient grader.

He really wants you to learn and also gives you much extra credit to help you get a good grade; it is a bit difficult to get used to writing lab reports but soon I learned how to write; was very flexible with the deadlines-around exams hegave us extra time-real helpful

I feel I learned a lot and felt challenged in the lab in a good way; he makes you think in every step you do, instead of tellin you how to just do the experiment. It was hard at first but then I appreciate it and learned how to think on my own an also got a very good grade. Very personable too

Professor Oxy' lectures have helped me follow this class material very well. I could rewind his lectures anytime and so really understand it; same with the problem sets. So, we had more time in lecture to talk about more difficult things. He cares for his students very much and gives lots of extra credit to help us!

Dr. Oxy was a great lab professor. All you have to do is show up to the Zoom calls, and put the work in. Labs can be difficult online, but he helps with questions quickly and really just wants you to learn. Grades are given based off of your effort, not off of accuracy.

If given the chance, take Professor Oxy!!! Lab reports are time consuming, but if you put in the effort and show you tried, he'll give you full credit. He was always available to answer questions, and you can tell he really cares about his students' success. He made the semester go smoothly during these crazy times.

He gave many extensions for all projects which actually help very much to raise my grade; besides dropping low score exam. I wish they were more sample exams because they helped me a lot; very understanding and caring; strongly recommended this class

Although I didnt do so well in his class, he offered lots of opportunities to raise our grade by dropping the two lowest exams and curving generously. Lectures were on zoom but were useless because you have to watch the prerecorded lectures. Slow grader, hard to predict our final grades

Dr. Oxyzolou is a decent professor. I appreciate the extra credit options and generous grade curves. However, relying on pre-recorded lectures before Zoom sessions can be challenging. His teaching style is alright, but clearer communication of complex material during live sessions would have helped immensely.

Prof Oxy definitely cares a lot for his students and wants to make sure they learn the material. He gives many opportunities for you to learn through doing extra problem sets and watching pre recorded lectures. This class is a lot of work, but if you focus and listen to his feedback you will do well.

Although I was scared and thought I would not do well I was pleasantly surprised with the nice grade that I got; his many extra credit projects and extra optional work really helped me to do verywell; Inow know how to much better in the second sem ester; I really enjoy this class

I wish he had more practice tests but if you do his problem sets for which you have a key and a video it really helps to know material but also do well in his exams. Also, if you do a double problem set and extra problems you get extra credit-really realy helps

surprised that after first midterm I got much higher grade because he curved exam and he said he will curve the class. The problem sets were difficult but he gave the keys and helped me answer well the questions.I think I can get good grade in this class

Dr Oxy is the greatest!! He changed the midtrem-exam day two times without the students asking for it!! It gave me personally time to study more and do better in the exam. He is ver y caring-hope I will find such professor at the tranfser school

what helps a lot is the so much extra credit he gives-if you do all of them you can really correct any bad grade you may get.Just do the work and the xtra credit and you will ace the class

I used top stress about chem exams but this professor is very kind; even if one exam is a bit difficult he would walk around and look at students papers and give hints; also gives extra time-I did surprisingly good in last exam; just make sure you do problemsets!!

I love this prof but I did not like the last part which is Biochmemistry.Dr Oxy tried to make it easy by less memorization but still too much of it.But I cannot complain because my other classes are freaking asking much more memorization. This prof goes around and helps students. He gave us handouts that really helped; class was great-take it

this professor was very very lenient with submitting late reports and although giving quite a bit of credit it helped to keep my grade from lectures quite high, I think; make sure though you turn in things by due date to get full credit; also participation in class helps a lot-it helped me understand the material and do well in class

He's really caring, he will drop exams, which is a great thing, since the average in exams is low (70). Low averages shouldn't mean he does not prepare you for his exams. in fact he provides lots of examples in problem sets and sample exams that literally guide you on what to emphasize your studying, Use his resources and you will ace all exams.

Make sure to show up and be active in his lectures; he gives lots of extra crediti and he is very caring. Tried to give us extra time if allowed even during exams and many extracrdit projects. I would definitely take him again. very caring and understanding
