Great Teacher
Great teacher, explains things clearly and always time to help. homework optional and grade based of 2 midterms and final, and 4 quizzes.
Most students got C's and B's, but if you work, you can get an A, i didnt work very hard and i got an A. If you really want to learn, he is a great econ teacher.
Taber is an awesome professor! Econ isn't an easy subject, but he makes it easier to understand and has great notes. Although all quizzes/tests are open book, you definitely have to know the material since there is a time limit.
Teaches the way a professor should! I learned SO much in his class and would reccomend him to anyone!! An awesome teacher!
Taber is a great teacher, 3 exams open note/book. Just do the h/w, it is not mandatory, and organize your notes for the test so you are not in a huge mess. be prepared to put in some time to understand concepts, its not regurgitation
taber is one of those teachers who is more than happy to help you outside the class and really cares about his students and if they succeed. his tests are somewhat difficult if you don't study, so be ready. great professor, take him.
Taber is a great guy, very nice. Class is based on 3 tests (100pts total in class). Personally, I hate economics, I found the class very hard. If you need help, tell him. READ THE BOOK, NOT JUST THE LECTURE NOTES! Do the homework. NO LONGER open book tests.
Dr. Taber is a really cool guy. he is a great instructor and will help any way that he can. dont be afraid to ask him for help. only three tests in his class, but they are not that difficult (test is very similar to sample exam)
enthusiastic, clear and easy to understand, youngish and fun, cute too
good at explaining if you understand. tests are almost impossible to pass.
Awesome teacher. He really loves what he does and it shows. He's always willing to help and makes sure you get the material. The material can be tough at time but if you study the class is rad.
So besides the fact that some of his lectures will put you to sleep faster then you can count to 10, its really just the subject that lacks interesting material. Once you learn how he teaches and tests the class is pretty decent. He's a cool guy and I think youre best bet as far as econ. But beware you'll be there the entire time alotted EVERYTIME!
Dr. Taber provides wonderful powerpoints that are great for studying with. He is extremely helful in his office hours and if your grade is on the cusp, he will definitely give you the benefit of the doubt.
Awesome teacher overall. Knows his stuff and has a great passion for teaching and helping students learn. If you don't get econ, he'll help you in any ways possible.
nice guy. economics is just difficult.
I had his class last semester and it was really fun. The tests are really easy. For those who say that it is hard, it is because they don't study or have an understanding towards this. Study notes, book, excercises, practice problems, and sample multiple choice exams along with a litle understanding towards the subject and it is an easy A. Do the H
His class is really easy. I took him in Spring of 2007 and it was an Easy A. Just study what he gives you out on his web site and it should be real easy. Do the My Econ Lab Homework also.
Good guy! He goes out of his way to help you if you don't understand. Tests are straight forward. Besides studying notes, study exercises and practice problems and you'll be fine. The sample multiple choice exams are also helpful.
great teacher. no homework, only tests. about 6 tests with 25 points each. drops lowest and doubles highest. and the last test is 50 points. work your butt off and read read read the text you will do fine. just make sure to dedicate the time. and he is very friendly if you visit him in office hours.
He is a good teacher and trys to use examples that you would understand. Bottom line is the class is tough, its not you typical show up and do some homework and get a "c" type of class. You will have to study in order to get a good grade. He allows you to use a 3x5 card for notes on the tests which help a lot if you fill it out right.
Amazing guy, always willing to help students. Take advantage of his office hours. It's not a hard class if you study the material. He's a guitar guy. Some complaints from people are that he can be confusing when explaining something, I agree. Print out all the stuff he puts on his website, do the practice exams . I got an A but I studied a lot.
I REALLY enjoyed his class and got a lot out of it. He is a great professor and even throws in some corny jokes to spice up and help you remember his awesome lectures. I'm taking his Macro-econ class next semester and looking forward to it!
He is my favorite teacher so far! Im taking his econ 121 this semester because the last class was such a cake walk. I dont know what people are talking about it being hard. I did't read one chapter and my worst test score was 23 out of 25. As long as you pay attention and make a good note card before the test you'll do fine. Best teacher ever!
Easy class if u take notes and moderately study. Dr taber is awesome!!! Go to his office hours if u need help. Loved his class :)
Taber is a wonderful professor, reli helpful. His teaching method is very effective. Seldom goes off topic like other teachers. If u want an A, just pay attention and understand all the material. Not too hard. I got an A and the first in class!!!
Prof. Taber is one of the best at SCC. The only reason he gets a bad rap is because economics is a hard subject. He explains the subject material in a very clear way, it's just up to you to go home and study a little bit. make sure you ace the first test because he doubles your best test score.
I had taber for both his micro and macro classes.... by far the best teacher I've had at SCC. He goes out of his way to explain things to his students. If you pay attention in class, you'll only need to study a week before each test. If you read the book, this class is an easy A. He even lets you use a notecard both side, on every test.
He is the best instructor I've had in SCC! Econ is a hard subject, but he'll do everything he can to help you learn it. I took both Econ 120 & 121 with him and it was the best choice I could have made. No homework, one online quiz per chapter, and four exams throughout the semester. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS INSTRUCTOR! TAKE HIM, YOU'LL LOVE HIM!
Awesome teacher! Helpful, funny, and highly knowledgeable.
Awesome teacher! Lectures are a little boring but he makes notes accessible on blackboard so you can fill them out before class and follow along with during class. The quizes online are extremely helpful for the tests plus easy points to earn. The tests are a little hard but fair as long as you put the effort in to study.
Nice and knowledgeable. Extremely difficult. Clear your schedule and do not work when taking this class. Studying and homework take up quite a bit of time. I absolutly hate economics now.
Taber is a great teacher! He teaches so you understand the material and is extremely helpful and wants his students to succeed. If you have a question just ask. He doesnt make you feel stupid. Read the chapters before class, they are short and don't take a lot of time to get through. Test are a little tricky so study and use the note card.
Do not take this class if you like economics.
Taber is a nice and caring professor. He is funny in his own way and you do learn from his class. You need to do his hw online and study sheet, as well as study for exams with the online help and extra work. This class is not cake, you do need to actually work and put effort into it. And he provides time to meet with you, I recommend taking Taber!!
Not the hardest class ever, but you will need to put forth effort to get an A. Read the book, pay attention in class, ask questions, do the homework, and study a little and you will get an A. I put in about 2 hours a week outside of class to turn an A in it.
Makes economics waaaaaaaaaay harder then its needs to be.
Taber seems to spend quite a bit of time on the easier subjects, and much less on the harder ones. And believe it or not, the majority of the questions on the homework and tests is the harder subject material.
3 tests which are almost impossible to pass. Best of luck to anyone who dares take this class.
Taber is probably the best professor I have ever had. He puts so much thought into his lessons, and he has a true gift for lecturing. He is crystal clear, and is the kindest man I have ever met. He is so thoughtful and considerate, and above all he is fair. Taber is always available for help and is extremely patient. And he's not bad looking :)
He's pretty cool, just read before class. The subject is hard but he makes it easier to understand than other professors at SCC. He's one of the nicest people you will ever meet, just ask him for help if you don't understand something.
Mr. Taber is a very helpful and kind professor, who will do his best to get the subject across to even the dumbest student in the class.
Good teacher, will go out of his way to help you understand the material, even if that means the whole class has to listen to him explain it 3 times in a day
Alex is a great teacher because he will help you if you don't understand a subject. make sure you fill out his notes and review his practice tests a day before the test... His tests are freaking hard don't mess up on those!
That Taber is a cool guy. He's extremely friendly, almost to friendly; putting in the effort to memorize all his student's names. He will bend over backwards to help you and encourages asking questions during office hours. His lectures are clear and does a great job helping you understand concepts. Highly recommended professor.
Excellent professor. Very enthusiastic and very helpful. If you are serious about learning econ and are willing to work hard, he is as good as you will find. If you want an easy do-nothing/learn-nothing class, look elsewhere.
best professor ever
I took economics twice before and did not do well. So I researched for the third round and chose Alex. He is a great teacher. I was hoping for a C but ended up getting a high B. If you do the homework and study his past exams you will do great. He will go over the material thoroughly in class (& in office hours) until you understand!
My first impression: skinny Robert downy jr. crossed with Ben from the secret life of the American teenager. Corny jokes and kind of a dork, but very nice and helpful.
Prof Taber is a nice guy. Very friendly and approachable. Make sure to read the textbook before lectures, study his sample exam questions online, and you'll be fine. Get help when you need it. He is good at explaining really hard concepts.
Don't slack off! The class seems super easy at first but gets alot harder. Taber is extremely helpful though and makes everything easy to understand. As long as you pay attention you'll do fine (which i didnt)
I would highly recommend Professor Taber for any student. I had him for Micro and Macro. He is very helpful and really wants you to do well. He will explain things multiple ways if you don't understand the first time. Do his online same questions before the test and it will improve your score tremendously.
I would highly reccomend Taber if your a business major transferring to cal state fullerton. The class is tough, but he will make the rest of your Econ classes be a breeze. He definitely prepares you for whats to come.
Nice guy, he does care about his students. No hw, some extra credit, 3 exams. I've never taken Econ before but he does spend too much time explaining easier concepts so I felt completely unprepared for the exams although I did work on the extra credit, read the book, and asked for help. He doesn't explain the material well. Good luck!
Taber is the best economics professor :) he is really a nice down to earth guy who cares for his students to learn the material and to pass of course. Take him for econ macro or micro, I totally recommend him. His teaching style is awesome. Take HIM!
he is way to smart to be teaching at a community college. he doesnt know how to get his point accross without drifting off into random stories that he loves to tell. study the sample questions because THOSE ARE THE TEST! its a difficult class that requires alot of time!
Worst teacher ever. First day of class told every one that the first test would probably have a average of 60% and he had no problem with that. That turned out to be true and he blamed it on the students not trying hard enough not his horrible teaching. The second test average was a 32%. I had no other choice then to drop the class. DON"T TAKE HIM!
Good professor if you study the sample questions. half the test was the sample questions. if you do not take a look at them at all you will fail.
Super nice guy. Paying attention is class is crucial. Make sure to study the sample questions, they're the best way to study for test. Go see him at his office hours, he's super helpful. He does tell you that his class is hard, but if you put in an effort it is honestly not that bad. Don't try to wing the tests, you will fail.
Alex is a great guy and super helpful. The class was by far the hardest class i took at SCC. Study the sample questions they're the test!!!!!!! Go to his office hours he will kill himself to make sure you understand what he is talking about . If your mot a econ or bus major stay away from this class.
Take Taber! There is no homework, so just make sure to really pay attention in class. I got an A without using the textbook the 2nd half of the semester. You can tell he really is passionate about economics. He will literally do anything to help you learn the material, and tries his best to make himself available as much as he can. Highly recommend
First off, he has a great fashion style. This is by far the hardest class I have had, but I am glad that I took it with him. There is no homework, and only 3 tests. Though his test are hard, he is extremely helpful. I suggest to show as much interest in the class as possible and visit his office hours. And definitely GO TO CLASS!
Econ is a difficult subject, but professor Taber is extremely helpful. He will go out of his way to make sure everyone understands the concepts. I highly recommend Taber for the business major as well as the people getting their GE's completed.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Somewhat challenging course but considering all the tools he gives you, including sample test questions to practice, you have no excuse not to get an A. You get a note card for each exam. Never have I met someone who was so smart AND super nice. Won Professor of the Year and it was very well-deserved.
Taber is my all-time favorite professor. I took AP micro in high school and got a C but when I took his class his teaching was so clear and precise and motivated me to earn my A. So excited to take macro with him next fall!
Economics is generally a difficult course, but Mr. Taber makes it the material understanding. Exams are based on sample questions, just some are reworded. Didn't do well on first exam but went to office hours and understood everything. Greatest economics professor in SCC! On a side note he is very handsome ;D. Just put in time for this class!
Can't say enough good things about Taber! Just attend class and fill out his note packet and you can get an A easy. The MyEconLab assignments are really helpful for extra credit and studying for the tests. He will go to great lengths to help students understand. He is passionate about Econ and he loves his guitars too! I wish he taught more courses
Taber is incredible. He is the real-life Tony Stark (he looks like Robert Downey Jr too!) and will bend over backwards to help you. Econ is a very dry and difficult topic in its nature, but Taber teaches in a way that simplifies everything. If you do myeconlab and all the work, there's really no reason to not get an A. Loved him for micro and macro
I failed the first two out of three exams because I barely studied, he was kind enough to help me in any way possible and spent a *lot* of time doing so - even stayed with me after class and emailed me constantly. I took the makeup and the final, came out with a B in the end!!!
Taber is the best Econ teacher - if you're interested. He lets you miss class whenever you want, but also tells you that your grade is up to you. Work hard and come to class, you'll do well. After the second week, I never looked at the book. His lecture notes and online questions plus an occasional search of the etextbook were all I needed.
I took Micro and Macro Econ in the same semester. It was tough, but Taber helped me make it work. The lectures and powerpoint notes were great. Online homework was pretty helpful, even though it got boring at points.
He's very helpful and clear in his lectures. His tests, on the other hand, are very hard and tricky. You have to study weeks in advance in order to do well. Economics is a dry, difficult subject to grasp, so it may just be the subject that is tricky. MUST work for a B. A's are only attainable if you do not have a full course load.
I've never thought I would like Econ this much until taking this class. His explanations are very clear and approachable. He is also very thoughtful and devoted. Even though I've never considered choosing Econ as my major, but taking this class makes me want to major in Econ. Took Micro last semester and gonna take Macro next semester!
Taber's lectures were so long and boring. I love econ and am majoring in it, but I hated it for this semester. He is a really nice person and will help you if you ask for it. His class is even really easy and he gives good examples. The only problem is he is boring and doesn't inspire students to learn.
Taber is a great professor. He does put all of the test scores (wo names)on the board so i could see that the average grade was a B- or so but I honestly didnt study at all and got almost a hundred on every test. He even lets you use a note card on every exam so idk how people did that bad. Hes super clear and his power points are spot on.
Great professor The lectures can be a little boring, but he tries his best to get you excited for econ. There are 3 tests and some online homework He goes above and beyond to make himself available to help He truly wants you to understand would take again just make sure you go to class, read the book, take notes, go to his office hours!!!!
The only professor I've ever known to bend over backwards to make sure he is available outside of class. Very clear in all forms of communication and great with email. His class is not an easy A! If you want an A I recommend taking the practice tests he puts up on blackboard. His test questions are the most straight forward I've ever seen.
Taber (so far) is the greatest professor I've ever had. He cared so much about our learning pace, and always offered to explain a subject as many times as it took to stick. The tests are difficult but as long as you study the online practice problems and skim the textbook while doing the the homework you'll be fine.
I'm writing two years after taking his class to encourage BUSINESS MAJORS to take Taber! More Econ is required after you transfer and this guy prepares you for it. Absorb his tricks, you'll need them later! At the time, I thought he was great but perhaps made things more difficult than necessary, but it was totally necessary. Thanks, Mr. Taber!
Must take for business/econ majors. Taking upper division econ right now and a lot of the material i remember from Taber's lectures. Although it one of the more difficult classes I took at SCC, he prepares you for whats to come. If you can get an A in his class then the rest of your econ classes will be a breeze.
Taber is a good professor. Hes very clear about what hes teaching and gives good examples that are more helpful to think of. Myeconlab HW is assigned each week but its pretty easy. tests are alittle hard because no study guide but hes helps you out with questions that might be on there, ive already taken macro but if i wouldnt id be taken it here
Although this class has a tough course load, Taber is a wonderful teacher and offers as much help as you seek. Super funny and kind.
Taber is a professor who is clearly passionate about his teaching career. Although his course is fairly rigorous, as long as you pay attention in class and apply yourself you should be fine. I got by without the textbook, and referred to his class notes and sample questions. I will be taking his class for macro next semester.
Alex Taber is a great econ professor! Not going to lie, this subject is very boring but Taber does his best to make it interesting, and he explains things really well. He is also very willing to help students understand even the easiest concept. 10/10.
Wonderful teacher, just had a lot on my plate but would highly recommend! He is passionate about economics and cares a lot to help students pass.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. HE DOESNT EXPLAIN ANYTHING IN CLASS AND HIS EXAMPLES ARE TERRIBLE. I WAS A 4.0 STUDENT BEFORE HIM. HIS LECTURES ARE DEATH BY POWERPOINT AND HE ZOOMS IN ON SLIDES YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE LOOKING AT. HIS OTHER CLASSES ARE CHAPTERS AHEAD OR BEHIND. VERY DISORGANIZED. I LOST MY 4.0 BECAUSE OF HIM. TEXTBOOK IS MANDATORY BUT UNUSED
Good professor overall. Take him in the afternoon if you can. He speaks twice as fast in the am probably because he's hyped up on coffee. I took both 101 and 102 at the same time. it was difficult but do-able. He's very accessible outside of class and will make time to meet even outside his office hours. Takes the time to help you understand
Best professor ever!!! A must take class!! Does his lecture with PowerPoint. Exams are pretty easy, just study from the sample questions he gives u and the PowerPoint slides. Great guy and excellent professor.
Best teacher I have ever taken, by far. I have no idea why he isn't teaching at an Ivy League school. Makes complex topics easy to understand. Very approachable. Because Economics has political aspects to it, he was asked questions that were more political than economic, he handled it extremely well and answered objectively. Hope they pay him well!
I loved Taber. Economics is very challenging for me and I took 101 with another professor and the experiences were worlds apart. Taber takes the time to make sure you understand and he's accessible outside of office hours as well as through email. He's seriously hot too, but don't let that distract you.
Hands down one of the best professors I have had. His class is not easy but he will make sure you understand the material. Total of 4 exams and drops the lowest score. Taber truly cares for his students and wants everyone to succeed. Highly recommend taking his class!
I've had him for Econ 101 and I'm taking him again for Econ 102. Best prof @ SCC hands down! Explains topics extremely well, breaks down exams, gives you practice ?s very similar to exams, and is just an awesome guy. If you're a biz major take him; he preps you very well. If all profs taught as well as he does, I'd have a 4.0. TAKE HIM!!!
Mr. Taber is a good teacher. Hes very fair, he knows the material very well, explains it, and tries to use simple examples so that the class can understand. the problem is he moves SUPER quick. it seems like you blink and hes on something else.
Professor Taber is one of the best instructors at SCC. The guy knows his stuff and he's a very caring person. He works hard to make sure you understand the material. There are 4 non-cumulative test that you can do well in if you study good. And the online assignments are not that hard
Taber is great at teaching this subject. He knows what he is talking about, and teaches using examples that are easy to understand, which makes it easy to do well in his class. His exams can be a little difficult, but if you study his notes and sample exam questions, you will do well. He has good office hours, and is quick at responding to emails.
Hands down best prof at SCC. He comprehensively knows what he is talking about and loves his profession with a passion. Took Econ 101 and 102 in the same semester and ended up with As in both classes; you have to put in the effort to understand the sample questions and powerpoints to do well in his class. He genuinely cares for each student.
As an Economics major who transferred to a 4-year, I can confidently say that Prof. Taber is the best professor I have ever had. He prepares you to think critically and taking his classes gives you a huge advantage over your peers at the 4-year level. Excellent lectures and an even better person. If you're interested in Econ/Biz you must take him.
I admire Taber, he's a great guy even though he considers questions to be "Tangent Discussions." I didn't read the book, he let's you use flashcards on the exam, he doesn't let you leave early, and he's ready to help anyway you can. His exams are TOUGH but I think that's because he loves Econ so much lol. But I would average 40/50 and I did fine.
Professor Taber is one of the greatest professor's i've had! You can tell he loves his job. Fair warning, Econ is hard subject. He tries his best to get the point across to you but if you don't read the book/ constantly read your notes/ study hard for the exam, don't expect to pass. No E/C.
Dr. Taber is a prime example of what all professors should be like. He actually loves what he does and it truly shows. Taber is part of the very few professors who actually care for the subject and very knowledgable at the same time. He has a love for economics and it is very obvious. He got his phD from Uchicago and it clearly shows! Super smart!
I absolutely love Dr. Taber and I wish he could teach all my business courses. I was actually really upset after I finished both his courses and realized I will never sit in one of his lectures again. I was always so interested in his class because he makes it fun. The subject gets tricky and he does his best to help students out.
Amazing professor. You can tell that the cares about his students and wants everyone to get an A.
Amazing professor!
Professor Taber is the most caring professor you will ever have. He wants you to pass. His office hours are so useful. He also uploads some very helpful practice tests (literally old test questions so they prepare you for his tests very well) as well as other docs. If you don't pass it's because you didn't make an effort on your part.
In my opinion the only professor to take for Econ. Lectures are very informative. Patient , wants to be sure you understand. Gives great study material. Explains subject in relatable means. Always available for assistance. Not a lot of room for error 4 tests and econlab hw but gives multiple chances on hw. Fair grader. Respected. Rock on Prof. T
Cares about students, and takes time to make sure material is understood.
Was worried about taking Micro/Macro in a single semester along with my other tough classes. Taber is a great teacher who TRULY wants his students to succeed. He gives you more than satisfactory lectures. He provides study materials, that if you put the time in, will really prepare you for the exams. Taber is the man and I highly recommend.
Great professor! He really cares about his students and wants everyone to understand the material. He was more than happy to go back if anyone seemed lost on something. Studied for exams and got high Cs and homework is easy credit. Doesnt offer any extra credit so you get what you deserve. You do have to work for this class and put in effort.
Dr Taber has done wonders for me. Hes a genius in Econ and its pretty clear after five minutes of talking to him. He is able to take difficult topics to the real world and make it easy to understand. He is a great man. Tests arent easyIm thankful for what he has taught me beyond words can express. Thank you Dr. Taber! Continue to do what you do
Dr. Taber is the absolute best! Econ is a hard subject but he tries his best to simplify it and has extremely detailed power points that are uploaded for your use. I would highly recommend taking this class, he truly loves econ and cares about his students!
Professor Taber has such a passionate energy for teaching Economics, a subject students often find to be not the least bit exciting. Taber has a way of engaging students and ensuring everyones on the same page, as we all learn together within his classroom environment. Lectures left me feeling that I could take on the world with newfound knowledge
Highly theoretical. Many theories built on theories. Here's my tips. Read beforehand to better understand lectures on a foundational level. Go thru his sample questions with the note card he allows you to use on the test to reinforce your understanding and confidence. It was not super easy nor was it super hard. Do this and an A should be easy.
Taber is such a great teacher who will do everything he can to help you understand the info. Hes really caring for every one of his students. Taking him for Econ102 next semester as well !
Professor Taber is one of the best professors I've ever had at SCC. His lectures are easy to understand and he gives students sample questions that are really similar to the exams. As long as you take the time to go to class and do the sample questions, you'll be able to get an A.
Amazing professor 10/10 would recommend. He's extremely captivating and answers any questions that people have. You can make a notecard of notes to use when taking tests. Very accessible outside of class and offers an amazing extra credit opportunity at the beginning of the semester. Would definitely take again
Hard tests, heavy work, don't try to take his class
This class is not for everyone, he is an extremely good guy but such a boring lecturer. I would NOT take this class again. You may need to read extra to understand because you may not learn during his lectures he goes on rants and etc. Would not take if I were you
Awesome teacher and person. Very friendly, easy to talk to. Cares about each of his students and will take the time to memorize everyone's name in the first few classes. Visit his office hours for great insight and good conversation. 100% would take again.
Really good teacher for Econ but gives long lectures and on top of that reading and homework. Tests were really challenging and must really know material better taking the test.
taber has been one of my favorite professors that ive encountered in college. hes such a chill soul and if you make use of his office hours, you really wont regret it. the class is hard, but if you put in the work and try your best to understand the material, youll be just fine!
More than half of the students FLUNK the first exam... and the exams count for 87.5% of the course... is this a joke? never have i ever seen such little homework to balance out test scores like that, but on top of the little homework he assigns, its not as if it will really make a difference in your grade. if you can, take it at a different college
Amazing professor- knowledgeable, caring, funny, and straightforward. Syllabus clearly defines how to succeed in his class- read the chapter, bring PowerPoint copies to class/take notes, chapter quiz due at the completion of each chapter, utilize practice tests for each chapter, and prepare for the exams. Oh yeah and he is a really cool guy too.
each exam is worth roughly 27% of your grade, and there are 3 exams. i should also add, the average grade for these exams are lower than a 70%. I was actually quite impressed with my grade above the average, however my parents were not too pleased, until i showed them the average grade. Personally, i would not even say half the class passes.
Taber is a very nice professor that cares about the grades of his students! His exams are worth almost the whole grade of the class but he has great teaching skills. I recommend taking his class if you already took it for econ 101 to know what to expect. Overall great professo!
Dr. Taber is THE best teacher I've ever had and it's not debatable. You will never find a professor who cares more about his students than Dr. Taber. He provides so many opportunities in and out of class to ask questions and make sure everyone is understanding the material. The world needs more teachers like Dr. Taber!!
Professor Taber is hands down the best teacher I've ever had. His lectures and powerpoints are very thorough and has the information needed to do well. His tests are difficult and are a big part of the final grade, but if you use the materials he gives you, you will do well. He truly cares about the success of his students and is always helpful.
Hate Econ, but love him. Was not that hard, never studied very common sense related.
He's eccentric, but he's a really good professor for the subject. Homework is sparse and reasonable unlike the exams, which were about 75% of the grade; if not 75 then still a really large part. You have to pay attention to do well, and that requirement is unwavering. However, he's a bright personality and will listen to students when it matters.
I took his class in the spring, and with the supplemental online lectures, sample exam problems, and engaging lectures, I enjoyed and passed his class. He truly cares about his students and allows us to bring a notecard for exams. I recommend that you participate in class! He enjoys it when students are actively engaged in the lecture.
Great professor obviously cares about his students you will not get an A in this class, it is possible but not likely. The 3 exams total are graded extremely heavily. w/ other classes you just wont have enough time to know everything. Nicest professor ive had extremely clear about difficulty of class. Encourages class participation in the best way
Mr. Taber was a great professor to have and I'd gladly have him as a professor again. There is homework, but your grade really relies on his 3 exams. The exams aren't hard but you MUST do all the study questions for all the chapters if you want to pass them!!! Keep that in mind and be appreciative you have Mr. Taber to teach you about economics.
Mr. Taber is a great professor who wants you to learn and succeed. Make sure to pay attention to his lectures, take good notes, and do the study questions that he gives for each chapter. Great teacher overall that makes economics exciting to learn about.
The class got super tough after the 1st exam. Professor Taber was super nice and seemed to care a lot about his students but I felt like his classes were super boring. It mainly consisted of him lecturing despite his syllabus saying there would be collaboration (there was none). Love the professor, not the teaching style.
Professor Taber seemed to genuinely care about his students and wanted them to actually learn the material and succeed. His class was pretty straightforward, vocab chapter quizzes, chapter homework, and exams were the only things he graded. He also proivdes access to past exams questions which you can use to study which was helpful.
professor taber is such a good teacher and really cares for all his students. 3 exams which are a majority of the grade and canvas hw assignments for each chapter. Has lecture videos and questions/answers to review all on canvas. Stay on top of the material and study so u don't fall behind, and go to his office hours!
ts pmo icl dont take it if you wanna pass the class with your sanity intact. trust me DO NOT TAKE.
Very intresresting teaching style, I could see why others are a bit bored, but his style helps me greatly.
Took for Econ 101 and 102. Content can be very difficult at times and test heavy. He's extremely accommodating with office hours, caring, and lectures are very informative. Everything on his practice questions are exactly what's going to be on exams. If you don't understand a concept he will break it down until it finally clicks. Amazing professor
PhD in Economics from University of Chicago. An exceptional professor. His engaging teaching style, deep expertise, and ability to simplify complex concepts make him the best educator I've experienced. His passion for economics inspires students, fostering critical thinking and academic excellence.
Prof Taber is my favorite professor I've ever had, and I don't even study economics. His lectures were engaging and he made every concept super easy to understand. He's caring and clearly loves his subject and wants students to learn. The character limit is too small to express how great this professor is. He even wrote my letter of recommendation!
Seriously one of the best professors I have ever had. He is not only incredibly knowledgeable about econ, but is a kind and caring person to his students. If you have the opportunity to take his class, you would do yourself a disservice not to.
I did Econ 101 & 102 w him. Great professor! Don't neglect to go to office hours! - show that you understand the concept of questions you may have missed or ask what you can do better. His lectures are clear, but definitely take good notes, and show up to class, you'll need to. 3 big exams, no cumulative final. Not easy class, but manageable
One of the kindest professors I have ever met. Truly cares for all of his students. Not too challenging of a class as well. If you attend lectures and study, you will get good grades on the exams.
Amazing professor. All of his lectures are fun and engaging, and he always makes sure to slow down and explain any questions students might have. However, the best part about education he provides is the office hours and their abundance, so I often was able to receive one-on-one guidance about specific subject I felt least confident in.
