I absolutely loved this professor! He has a really dry sense of humor and he isn't afraid to speak his mind but he is a really good guy and his lectures are really interesting! The class wasn't hard at all as long as you studied. Before the quizzes and tests he give a study guide. There are also ways to earn extra credit! And...he's cute! : )

He is super cool. he doesnt like to joke around, but he is pretty straight forward. If you miss any days, get the notes. Read all your definitions and study them. thats all he really quizes and tests on. You do need the book. its the white one with the flag and eagle. He doesnt teach american hist. or texas history, but does govt 1 &2.

Be prepared for note taking because everything is on the quizzes and tests. You have only one review essay that is assigned at the beginning and not due till the end. Easy, understandable class. Dont try to act smart, he wont take it. Other than that, easy class to earn an A.

This guy knows his government stuff. He makes the class interesting and explains government beyond the textbook. In fact don't buy the textbook you wont use it. I took him in Summer 1 and I really loved going to his class! He made us watch videos & write reaction papers at home. The quizzes are mainly vocabulary & he goes over it with you like two days before. You don't need a textbook. He responds to text messages real quick & is very knowledgeable about the subject. I would take him again if I could.

Burton is a great professor! I took him for both Texas and Federal Government and they were a breeze. All of the quizzes, midterm, and final are based off of your notes. Reaction papers are easy as well! just keep in mind that some of his lectures are a bit boring and slow but it is totally worth the grade I got! Highly recommend him!

This class was pretty simple just show up take notes study and you'll pass. I took him for fed & Tx govt. and it was pretty much the same. he hands out study guides and everything on tests are was on the study guide. some students think he talks too much, but I found it interesting. Very understanding if your late/cant showup jst txt him.

The class is lecture-based, so missing a day can make a huge difference on your tests. Still, his class is interesting and makes you think. He uses current events to keep the class intrigued and relate the material in ways that make the class understandable. Great professor. There are a few papers required, but nothing is unreasonable.

If you plan to take Dr. Burton for govt, you've made the right choice. He's a professor who tells you exactly what will be on the test and he even provides study guides. In his class we had 4 quizzes (the last quiz counted as our final) and watch 3 videos to which we had to write and review and that was all.

Talked the whole time about his political views the whole lecture and didn't really go over course material. Never really mentioned the assignments until final weeks, so make sure you do them before the last day. test are hard and don't really match the notes. don't talk in his class or he'll get mad. overall, if you put in some effort you'll pass.
