So I took Friedman online, I don't know if that is his strong suit. He wants people to participate and ask questions but he continuously talks over people and lets the TA who is wonderful take over the lecture. All homework where on Hill which was relatively easy and there were no exams, midterm or final! he gave a lot of extra credit!
I agree with the comment below. I wish the course wouldve been a bit more challenging.
The course is made up of only homework, however, there are no exams, which is great until you realize you're a nursing major and need to be tested on the material in order to succeed on the TEAS exam and future nursing courses. I honestly wish I would've taken a more challenging professor plus his accent is VERY thick, I never understood a thing.
Professor Friedman is an exceptional professor who cares about the well being of his students. The class consisted of online hw + animations, and tons of extra credit opportunities. There were no exams throughout the course nor quizzes, and attendance was mandatory. Overall I would take this course again with Professor Friedman.
Professor Friedman made class very easy. I admit our class struggled to understand his accent, but if you sit in the front you will hear him clearly. He's very nice, extended deadlines for homework, and gave extra credit opportunities. No exams, no midterms, just heavy lectures you do on your own and lots homework on connectED (very easy homework)
This was definitely a fun class if you are genuinely interested in learning, he likes participation! Although he does have a heavy accent, you can understand him, do not be intimidated! Our class this semester was face-to-face as well as accessible to zoom. You do have a lot of hw on connect but it is definitely doable with time management!
Professor Friedman made the class very fun and easy. He does like participation but, overall the class went smoothly. There is a lot of homework trough connect but it is possible to complete as it is not hard. Really recommend taking his class!
this professor is probably one of the best and most nicest professors you will EVER come across. the class lecture is awesome: he shows videos, explains the animations, and goes into discussion over the chapter. you literally have to be (no offense) stupid to fail this class. hes offers extra credit and extends the due dates so none of us fail.
The professor is extremely nice, but he does have a thick accent. However, you get used to it quickly. There are multiple lengthy homework assignments due each week. There are no exams, and there is no final. The textbook is a necessary purchase, and there are lots of opportunities for extra credit.
Dr. Friendman is one of the best professors at UTEP. I have learned so much from him that I am prepared for the second part of anatomy and physiology. His lectures are interesting and fun! Although there are no tests, there are a lot of lengthy homeworks that you learn a lot, so it makes up for the exams! Do the assignments and you can get an A!
Overall there were no exams or quizzes!!!!!!! but the homework was a lot, still a manageable amount. His lectures were based on youtube videos and animations. he will call out on you to try and participate.
Great professor
Easy professor to have for the summer. He lectures during class and posts all the homework and due dates since the first day. These assignments can be done multiple times till you get a 100. There are no exams and he offers a lot of extra credit due at the last week of classes. He is flexible with due dates and will reopen assignments if needed.
Great class , no exams or quizez just neeed to do your homework online using Mcgraw everything is easy just do your work on time , teacher is really flexible.
class is fun you do not have homework and quizzes!!!! you do have a lot of homework but its manageable! especially if you are taking him a full semester. You will learn
Just do the homework and you will be fine, he works with students!
He was a really good professor I recommend taking him. His accent is a bit heavy but you get used to it fast.
Dr. Friedman is amazing, his lectures were entertaining and interesting. He has an accent so it is difficult to understand him sometimes. his overall course is fun and the lab is very cool. I do recommend taking this class.
His class is heavy reading based but overall it is very and easy and easy to get an A
Homework heavy but worth it when it comes to no finals or quizzes. Definitely take. You will learn.
Great way of teaching
Class was a breeze, but be prepared to do plenty of assignments.
class was always entertaining, work was alot but easy to follow
He is overall a really great professor. Even though there is a lot of assignments it is all for the success of his students. He wants the students to succeed. Highly recommend him
Summer lecture was tough due to heavy homework, but it was doable. Professor was understanding and gave many opportunities to re-do assignments, and gave extra credit every now and then.
Great Professor who encourages participation with relevant questions to the topic at hand. Lots of homework and reading but with very reasonable deadlines. If I could I would take him again 100/100.
Homework heavy but when it comes to exams there are none in class only online but you get multiple attempts.
Took his class during the Summer. Class is easy and straightforward. He provides a detailed outline at the beginning of the semester. The class is very homework heavy, however he allows unlimited attempts on assignments as long as they are submitted by the deadlines. Strongly recommend!
Amazing professor. Took his class during summer, it was a lot of work but because semester was short. Homework is easy and can get an A as long as you get it done.
Took Dr. Friedman during summer and all I can say is that it was the best choice. If you are looking for an A in your anatomy 1 class, TAKE IT WITH DR. FRIEDMAN. There was a lot of homework due but no quizzes or exams.
Dr. Friedman's course contains a lot of information mainly because there are lot of body systems. Honestly it can be stressful, because there are SO MANY assignments. However, if you do all of your homework assignments you can easily get an A.
Dr. Friedman, made the class very fun and easy. Overall there were no exams or quizzes but the homework was a lot.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone! I took A&P 1 years ago and had a horrible experience with another professor. I was nervous going into this course but Professor Friedman made it amazing! He makes complex concepts seem interesting and easy to grasp. Participation matters, all assignments can be retaken as many times as you want!
Dr. Friedman was clear with the instructions to get the grade you want. The course is homework heavy, but apart from that there aren't many problems with the professor. This is an easy class as long as you keep up to date with the homework. There were many ways to also get extra credit, which is why I would recommend this class.
I took Dr. Friedman during summer for A&P I and the class went very smoothly. He does require that you attend each lecture and take selfies to prove your attendance. There were 6-8 assignments due each week, but these assignments were very easy and manageable. There are no tests or quizzes which makes it impossible to not receive an A+.
Dr. Friedman is very knowledge and really knows about the topic of Anatomy and Physiology. Lots of reading but if you keep up with work you will get an A.
Great Professor, who thoroughly explains all expectations needed to be met multiple times to ensure students understand and don't forget material. Love the dad joke but also takes his job seriously. The course work is a lot but it is doable if you put in the time and also gives chances for extra credit. Highly recommend!
Dr. Friedman is a great professor. He does have a lot of homework, but there is no exams, quizzes, or final. Your grade is purely based on homework. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
I took Professor Friedman for the summer semesters and he was nothing short of amazing. His lectures were always fun and informative. You do have readings due before each lecture and homework based off the textbook readings. Overall, if you do your readings, homework, watch his animations, and show up to class it is easy to get an A in his class.
Professor Friedman was a very good lecturer. His lectures include many videos which make it easier to stay engaged. I took a summer class so I had A LOT of homework but he was very understanding if life got in the way. The homework was very easy just time consuming and I had no exams. I would take again.
Dr. Friedman made the class fun and interesting and kept us engaged. I liked the Connect platform we used.
This was a very in-depth class. There were no tests, midterms, or finals. The whole class was based on homework, quizzes, and animations of the human body. It was a challenge to complete all of these assignments on time, so be prepared to do a lot of work. Overall, Dr. Friedman was an informative professor seeking to help his students.
I took his Anatomy 1 class during the summer, and he is an amazing professor. He is accessible after class and makes classes easy to understand by relating them to the real world or to personal experiences. There is a lot of reading and homework however there are multiple attempts and the work assigned and he goes over what is read during class.
Professor Friedman was truly a good instructor for my summer class. He was clear on all assignments and consistently asked us if we had any issues regarding the online textbook and website we used for our assignments. Although the class was early, he still made sure we were able to learn and laugh along the way. Would definitely take him again!
I took this course in the summer and is reading and assignment heavy, but very doable. This course has no Quizzes, midterm, or final exam. This course does require a lot of reading and homework, but assignments offer multiple attempts. Professor Freidman was overall a great professor and is very understanding, I would definitely take him again.
The professor was clear with the instructions and expectations for the class. There is a lot of homework and you do have to read before the class but it is manageable. Overall, it is a lot of work and information but the professor works with you and gives bonus assignments if you attend class.
Lots of assignments, but stay on top of your work and you'll be ok. Lots of extra credit offered throughout the semester. Would take again
Very good professor, would definitely recommend taking his class!
By far one of the most knowledgeable classes UTEP offers, with lots of learning, laughs, and professionalism. This class taught me a lot about the human body and its functions. I also learned how to manage my time to do all the homework on time!
Excellent professor; lectures are entertaining and informative, gives TONS of opportunities for extra credit, and willing to work with you. Tons of homework since almost all grades go through textbook online. TLDR; this is the class to take if you want to actually learn, but maybe standardized "school" isn't your thing. I walked away with an A.
Took this class during the summer with Professor Friedman. There is a lot of homework but it is very manageable. All the due dates are given on the first day of class. Professor Friedman gives good lectures and his accent is easy to get use to.
I took Dr. Friedman's class over the summer. He clearly outlines the class in a syllabus given at the start of the semester. He allows for unlimited attempts on the homework and doesn't give any midterms or finals. I would strongly recommend that everyone take Dr.Friedman's class.
Definitely recommend taking over the summer but you won't learn much from him, it'll be more up to you to teach yourself. No tests are given and all the homework have multiple attempts so basically, do the homework and show up to class and you have yourself an easy A.
Professor Alexander Friedman is wonderful and really recommend anyone who has the opportunity to take him to do so!
Dr. Friedman class is highly recommended, as he is comprehensible, and he has the exact information for the class that you need to know.
It is a good professor, he does not give exam or quizzes but that class is based on homeworks. So get ready to read but you also learn a lot.
Dr. Friedman is a dedicated professor in the biology field showing major interest in the subject matter.
Take him
Good professor, easy class.
easy class
Very good everything. Heavy homework. No tests or midterms. Attendance is based on pictures. Easy A as long as you keep up with the workload.
Good at giving out his lectures, was very confident throughout with the knowledge that would be given out. Grades depend on daily assignments and attendance which is very easy.
Great professor, as long as you do the course work you will get the A, its a lot but is not difficult, attendance is mandatory but his lectures are interesting and you can learn a lot from them if you pay attention.
Easy class just a lot of work.
I liked the class it was very easy and flexible such an amazing professor and nice.
He can be hard to understand at first, but it gets easier as the semester goes on. The textbook is online, as is all the homework. No exams, quizzes, or finals. Easy to work ahead if that is something you want to do. Attendance tracked through photographs.
He is a very smart professor. Gives good lectures. A little hard to understand at first. Class is graded based on reading, animations and homework. No final exam or any exams or quizzes which makes it great.
No Exams
This class was very easy, no final. Just do the homework/assignments and go to class and you will pass this class with an easy A.
The course was well established, and the professor explains everything very clearly. There are no exams or quizzes, simply doing all of the assignments given, although there are a lot. As long as you keep up with the assignments it should be an easy course for an easy grade.
Your grade is based solely on homework, online labs, and readings on McGraw Hill. No quizzes, midterm or final exam. Overall a good course, just be prepared to read at least a chapter before class.
Professor Friedman's class was an easy class. Lots of assignments but all very doable. All the due dates are given at the start and everything is open beforehand, so you could easily get all the work done. No exams/finals. Just do the assignments and attend the lectures (take selfies during the lecture for attendance) and you got yourself an easy A
The professor was very self explanatory every lecture and we are taught many new things. Overall this class was awesome and I would definitely chose this professor again. The online assignments were a bit too much but it sums up for there being no exams.
Friedman is a great professor; he is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. He likes to make jokes and engage with the class. If you like anatomy & want to increase your intuition, he is a great professor. He used the Connect program for homework, but it is easy to use and not strict. Only drawback is his strong accent.
It is an essay A. The attendance is taking by a picturing yourself at the begging of class and the end. No exam, he evaluated by work. It is easy class and essay to get the content. He is very comprehensible
Great professor! The program he uses is a bit expensive but well worth in my opinion. Lots of homework but its manageable. He also offers extra credit and an opportunity to join his lab!
Extremely knowledgeable and passionate professor but the assignment schedule was a little difficult to follow; he hosts homework and readings on a 3rd party website. You can crunch it within the two-week free trial and you're home free for the rest of the semester (save for attendance). He has a thicker accent but you'll adjust pretty quickly!
Very thick accent, but the class was very easy. The assingments were very time consuming however many managed to finish during the 2 week trial so... besides that, attendance is taken by in class selfies lol. there are no exams or quizzes
All your 100 ASSIGNMENTS are on a $50 website, the only downfall is the expensive website and the MASSIVE amount of homework you have. Attendance is graded based on pictures you will send at the end of the semester. No final, no midterm, a pretty easy class if you keep up with the work (cheating on chapters is recommended)
He is really good he only has a strong accent, that it can be a little hard to understand when he talks. But overall he is good he posts all the homework's so you can do them at your own pace. And also he lets you use any resources.
Dr. Friedman's class is in-person, but its the same as an online class. Theres no exams, you just have to do all the homework assignments which have multiple attempts. You have to teach yourself if you actually want to learn. Hard to imagine how he made it with such a thick accent.
YES. Friedman is very laid back, his attendance was not mandatory compared to previous semesters. He has a lot of assignments but everything is online and none on lockdown so you have a lot of resources. Out of 22,000 points you only need ~8,000 and you can pick and choose which assignments to do. It is basically teaching yourself though.
Honestly, if you want to be a doctor or nurse or anything medical related, make sure you do everything g because he literally does not teach. Other than that, it's an easy grade.
Great communication and explanation
Dr. Friedman is an incredible professor, he understands and cares about his students. Dr. Friedman makes painful courses less painful and goes out of his way to respond to student needs and address concerns. Great man and incredible professor.
Dr. Friedman makes the summer course easy to get through. He offers other resources if you need more help understanding the material such as recordings. Overall I think it was worth taking this class in the summer.
Dr.Friedman was a good professor, even though the class was only 4 weeks online he communicated well and it was very doable to get an A in the course. Definitely recommend taking him.
This professor is very caring and gives a lot of opportunities to learn and pass the class. He offers his online lectures of course if you want to learn you hadve to out in your part. Would definitely take again
Dr Friedman is a great professor to take if you need to take this course. You dont have to do all the assignments as well, you just need to accumulate 21000+ points to pass the course with an A, meaning you can pick and choose what you do. If you really want to learn you have to teach yourself.
I recommended him!
Hands down one of the best professors I've had, no tests, and no mandatory attendance. There are around 15 to 20 assignments per week but they're very easy and can be completed at home.
Incredibly easy class that relies mostly on the textbook...it's pricey, but it lasts all semester. The professor often extends due dates and is pretty funny. Just complete the online work and you'll easily get an A+.
Overall, a great professor he genuinely gives you all online homework's and quizzes. Just make sure you do your homework's on time and you're so set for his class. Give you work so you can pass with an A.
Take his class if you want to learn anatomy at your own pace and very well too! The McGraw hills are super helpful aswell as his lectures. Take this professor if you care about your GPA.
This professor was great. He gives out the whole semesters homework and you can finish it in the free trial and not worry about any homework later on. He is also willing to extend deadlines and although his accent is heavy during lectures, he still records them so you can always go back and understand what he went through.
Easy course to take, no exams, great at responding back to emails. If you do the extra credit (if it is offered), GO ALL 7 TIMES! Apparently 3-4 times gives you no credit whatsoever. I genuinely do not remember him saying this in the beginning of the course, and it does not say it in the syllabus.
There are no exams, no midterms and no finals for this class HOWEVER there is A LOT of assignments to get done around 240 to be exact and they are all done through McGrawHill which you can either pay 200 dollars for, or thug it out and do all assignments within the 14 day free trial (recommended). You can be done with this class in 14 days really.
Turn in your assignments on time and you will get an A. He's also very funny and smart
