easiest teacher ever does not take attendance and the only grades we do all semester are 2 papers that arent due till the end of semester

Excellent Teacher,I took this class online. I will definately look for him again. If you are taking another class that requires alot of time this is a great class to take. The work is not hard, and he prepares you for your tests!

I lucked out when I took Dr. Hogan's class. He teaches Govt in a very unique way that teaches you how Govt works in the real world. You won't be bored in Dr. Hogan's class. Many Govt topics were covered in our class discussions. He is also the nicest professor at Cy-Fair. Highly recommended!!!

His class is easy, just do your assignments and you'll pass. Alot of group work, nothing hard. Knew Absolutly nothing about Govt. going in and knew absolutly nothing about Govt. coming out haha. Gets off topic alot good for an easy A..

super awesome! he teached my class half way thru the year because our other teacher had passed away (RIP). got off subject all the time. didn't learn anything. had no tests. 3 papers the entire semester. funny and interesting. got off topic alot, but very awesome. had no real final, and any teacher that listens to dead kennedys in class is a-ok!

I just completed my second Govt course with Dr. Hogan and it was a pleasure learning Govt from him. I learned a lot from him about the politics of govt. His govt. class is the best! Take notes, do well on your writing assignments and group projects, participate in class, take the final and you will make an A! Great prof. Highly recommend!

Hey is a great teacher. I took both 2301 and 2302 from him his is the perfect online teacher. He lets you know exactly what is expeced of you and as long as you follow hois directions you will get a good grade. Take his class!

Greatest class ever inever liked gov but he made it very interesting. We rarely used a book we had interesting discussions highly recommend him

This teacher was rediculous. All he talked about were his stories from the past which i really dont care about. I got a's on all my papers and he never gave me back my grades for the group project i ended up with a c for the final grade. i dont recomend him if you actually want to learn about government and get a good grade.

He is so awesome. He just tell it the way it is. he do not **** or anything like that. He give lets us rewrite our paper till we like our grade. just dont be late to his class other than that you should be great. I really like him as a person and a teacher. no tests in there. I really enjoyed professor Hogan's class. Lots of class discussions and he treats you like an adult. Very cool guy! I highly recommend him.

Do NOT take this prof online. His assignments are unclear at best. I have never given a bad eval, but will for Hogan. 50% of my grade is an Elder Abuse Project. Unrealistic, not helpful, overall poor instruction. I have learned NOTHING about govt. We are 1/2 finished with the semester. Wished I hadn't taken him!

If you don't do the reading, you'll be lost Dr. Hogan has us do projects on real life political problems. It's fun IF you do the work. He went out of his way to help me out, but if you don't do the work, forget it!

I'm not too sure what the last 2 reviewers were talking about. As one past review stated, you can take this class if you have another class that overloads your time since this class doesn't. I'd recommend. The class is EASY. I expect an "A". You take several quizzes untimed. NO TESTS! One project, Elder Abuse, is majority of grade. GREAT teacher!

Dr.Hogan is great.The quizzes aren't very hard. The Elder Abuse project is slightly time consuming, but it isn't bad. I don't know what the other people are talking about. Its ok to have to do work in the class. Great professor!

I just finished taking his december minimester online, 4 quizzes timed 15 min, not due till last day of class, 3 papers not due till last week of class, awesome professor, got an easy A and I feel like I actually learned alot, more specifically about the media. Take this class as a minimester, easy A.

Another great online class from Dr. Hogan! Ditto from what previous rater below me said. I was also in the December minimester. Yes, class was easy but you also learned a lot. Through the papers and lectures along with readings you seem to learn subliminally. I came out knowing more than I thought I'd get. TAKE THIS CLASS! DR. HOGAN ROCKS!

Took his GOVT II class online. One project on Elder Abuse and 6 quizzes that aren't due until the last day of class. He is knowledgeable, helpful and wants his students to succeed. Great Professor, easy class.

I took his class online & I would definitely recommend it! He is very helpful & understanding if you have any questions. There were only a couple quizzes & they were due anytime before the end of the semester. The only other major grade is a project & it's done in stages which makes it pretty easy. Turn everything in & it should be an easy A!

I took govt II online and it was a VERY easy class. Everything revolves around the elder abuse project! Other than that, there are 6 small quizzes and a few minor writings. Even better - you have plenty of time for to complete everything assigned. All and all an informative class and an easy A.

Great and interesting teacher!The discussion boards are great because he asks you questions regarding your posts that really make you think!This was a great class to start my summer classes off with since he really makes you think.The audio files are fun to listen to yet extremely informative. If you want a class to get you thinking, take this one!

people say he's easy, but u don't learn as much govt as you do sociology. its a classthat you're basically writing his masters or doctorate thesis instead of learning fundamental govt concepts. if u r interested in the subject of govt, choose a difff prof.

I took Dr Hogan in Summer School, he was not my first choice of professor so i was a bit worry. He turns out AMAZING he really makes you think about what is going around the world and get involve! You don't need your book at all. I wish i would have taken him in 2301. He makes Government very interesting. And you will love his senses of humor.

He is an awesome teacher. i would fully recommend. and while he doesnt count absences he does pay attention when you arent there and wont be so kind in help when you never come to class. he is brash and honest but genuinely nice and interested in helping his students understand politics and government. take him!

I have not learned a single thing about govt.just wrote 10000s of essays on social issues, not govt. very liberal. the online class is terrible, altough he is understanding when you email him with a problem.

3 main group projects and presentations so choose your group wisely every time. Overall the class was EASY. He gave us plenty of time to work on our projects. I liked the class. Doesn't take attendance but knows if you're not there. Your grade is based on what you do as an individual in your group, so do your part of the work and you can get an A.

Very easy online class. 6 quizes that are due on last day of class. Even though its a government class mr Hogan concentrates more on a project that is the main subject. Our project was on Elder Abuse. Will recommend if you are looking for easy A

Super nice guy! Provides clear instructions and helpful lectures. I took as an online class; he is very consistent, fair, and flexible. He is also quite helpful, too! Expect to do some major work in here, but really: the elder project will change your life and how you view the world. All around, great professor!

Took his Govt 2302 ONLINE and his course was not so difficult. The course revolves mostly on a major project on Elderly Abuse. You have a couple quizzes throught. Overall I would say its an easy class and it does require some reading. He is very clear with his assingments. I would definately recommend him!!!

professor hogan, is VERY CLEAR on his assignments and when it comes to quizzes you do have to read the chapters..his main focus though is the elder abuse project...this project will make you change your view on everything and learn a lot in general! great teacher i do recommend this class...U WONT REGRET IT! BEST GOVT CLASS IVE EVER TAKEN!!!:)

Took GOVT 1301, 1302, and Model UN. HIGHLY recommended! Dr. Hogan is NOT easy despite what others have said. He expects you to do the research and the work which in turn earns you your grade. His classes are very thought-provoking, entertaining, engaging and are NEVER dull.

Government class taught by a liberal hipster. Took it online during the mini. The first two weeks are spent researching elder abuse, then the last designing a government program addressing it. Learned nothing about government. TIME CONSUMING. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have registered for this class.

Very good professor. He is funny, clear, and straight forward. Yes, the class is easy. However, you must put effort to make an A. Pay attention from Day 1 because you'll have to apply what you learned on the final essay. So take good notes, show up to class, and stay on his good side.

I took this online in a minimester. It is a different spin on your traditional class. It contained objective and subjective components, including an Elder Abuse project. I enjoyed it overall. Dr. Hogan responded immediately to e-mails and was very involved in the class, providing instruction, guidance and extra assistance.

He is easy, just do what he asks and show interest. He likes alot of in class participation, which is great. Down to earth, speaks his mind, overall easy A when you do what little he asks. Definitely makes you think of things differently.

This class is not easy. I mean it's easy like no pressure and he's helpful, but the assignments take time and are kind of difficult. They wwre for me anyway. The class wasn't what I expected, but in a good way.

One of the easiest online classes I have ever taken. The quizes were easy if you read the chapters and < 10 questions. He did have you do several papers and mainly on elder abuse, and they were not that difficult, as long as you did your research. Overal an excellent professor and easy class.

I took Dr. Hogan for Govt 2301(online)-super easy, listen to lectures(voice sounded like Matthew McConaughy) , participate in discussions, a couple of papers. Then 2306 in person, not Matthew McConaughy but still good looking. He respects each students opinions, and encourages participation, but NO BOOKS and NO EXAMS. Human Trafficking project. <3

Took this class over the summer and got an A! No exams, just a couple papers and a project! All fairly easy! Lectures are so interesting and the topics talked about are great! I learned alot about this class! No final. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM!

Great teacher !!!! Never used the book only lecture notes, did a lot of group projects and presentations. He is very raw and speaks how he feels but never disrespectful . Really easy class if you show up and do the work.

This class was a killer! Dr. Hogan is stern and serious minded. But he cares a lot about student success and learning outcomes! Watch out the book is all over the place in this class!

If you like projects or have test anxiety you might be okay. No tests, just a running chain of complicated assignments about elder abuse. You barely learn anything about texas government, not that I cared. If you're like me and you want an online class where you can just google all your answers and breeze by, you're better off with someone else.

Overall Dr.Hogan is a great funny professor. He does require you to do elder abuse projects but they are done in groups so it should be easythis makes it easier for you. Funny and class is always fun, no exams nor finals nor quizzes! I recommend taking him!

Confusing online teacher. Rented out the book but rarely used it. Stuck on the topic of elder abuse for the longest. There is no syllabus regarding due dates and such,defeats the purpose of it being a flexible online class for people with busy schedules. First online class I didnt like.

Easy online class.. Read a few chapters, one big project, 3 quizzes. No final. part 2 project is your final. He gave 2 weeks between assignments... No reason no to pass..(great if you work or go to school full time.).No late assignments, so turned them in on time.. NO HARD AT ALL.

If your nervous about GOV like I was, take this guy. The way he teaches is interesting, his goal is to get you thinking, and he does just that. Well, for those who are into that sort of deal :)

If you want an easy A, take him. However, if you want to learn the topics covered in the course description take someone else! My friends and I took only full-time govt professors at Cyfair, hoping to learn from the best. We were wrong! All the govt profs were SUPER easy and didnt properly teach govt. We learned more in our high school govt class!

Hogan is cool. A little nuts but funny. You do have to buy the book, i was told you don't, but he does make you buy it and he gives online quizzes. do the reading show up and you'll be okay.

Basically you've got to read a bunch of stuff and be ready to talk about it. The reading is hard, really hard and confusing. But the discussions are awesome! He's great!

This class is really hard. But he is helpful. But it's a lot of work, you need to be prepared for serious reading and writing.

The work is pretty intense. Four very hard tests, four papers, an oral exam and a group project. The class discussions were good, he compliments students and is very open to everyone's point of view. I liked that. Some of the reading was ridiculously hard, but I visited his office hours several times and he was very cool about it.

Very very funny man ! Although, I think he may need to see psychologist. 1 very big group project and 4 papers. I learned a lot in the group project just be careful who you choose to be your partners. The essay topics were hard and the readings were very confusing, but he goes over the readings.

If you're looking for an easy A, by all means take him! 4 online quizzes that were beyond easy and a paper that's not easy but definitely not impossible . He is super funny, tells funny stories that relate to lectures. You won't be bored. Easy class, good professor.

Super easy online class. Very little work. You can make 100's on the MindTap exercises without even reading the chapters, and the quizzes are the same way. Two papers assigned- very unclear on both topics and took over a month to get a grade back on the first paper. Doesn't interact on D2L much.

His online class is really easy. The work load isn't a lot. He doesn't respond quickly but overall it isn't a tough class. Just do the papers and exercises and you'll be fine.

Dr. Hogan is kind of an odd ball. On more than one occasion his class has made my day because of his hilarious stories. he has also called off class for little to no reason more than a couple of times. The content was mildly interesting, but participation after watching videos was not mandatory, though encouraged.

Stay up to date on your reading and turn in papers. I would definitely take another one of his courses.

His online class is pretty easy if you just do the assignments. You do have to keep up with them weekly . No final only two papers other than the assignments.

Professor Hogan's class was fairly easy. 2 papers and online Mindtap homework make up your whole grade. Don't procrastinate on the Mindtap, I did and spent 9 hours the day it was due finishing it up.

Very nice professor. I took his 2305 class last semester and decided to take him again for 2306. For his online class there is a discussion every two weeks.

He is kinda strange but in such a hilarious way. I took him for Federal Gov during the summer and it was pretty easy. To sum up the grades, it was three online quizzes, one 5 page paper, group discussions. His lectures are not extremely long and class ends usually early! He is a cool guy, if you do the work you are sure to pass, even make an A

Very great professor. I would ask him a question and he would reply within a 5 muintes. Everything is online and although he does has deadlines for each assignment he gives you amplified of time to finish it and even if you don't finish on time he gives 2 more days to finish. I would take his class again.

He is the best professor i have had so far. All of the content is posted online. He also gives you more than enough time to finish the 4 writing assignments that are due every 2-3 weeks. Its a must to take this class.

I took him for GOVT2305 and 2306. His class is easy, IF you do all of the assignments. There are quite a few papers and research. His class is worth the work.

6 discussions with 2 peer responses. One Final Paper on Elder Abuse and it is easy. Professor Hogan seems more focused on having us learn about the imperfections of our government which I appreciate. There were about 3 weeks in this class that were without a homework assignment and just to focus on final paper. Easy grader. Got an A!

Professor Hogan is very kind. He was patient with me through several office visits as I worked on a paper that I had never done before. He read several drafts and gave me lots of help. You never feel bad asking him a question and he always listens. I would take his class again!
