Makarov's love for the subject is apparent in his teaching. He cares about the students and wants them to understand the material. He gives interesting lectures and usually reviews for the quizzes and tests. It's a lot of detail, but if you study and apply yourself you'll do fine. If you are going into healthcare, take his class!

I can almost say he is the best teacher I’ve ever had for biology… He's very clear about what his teaching and the materials covered for quiz & test. As long as you study the book you will do great in his class. Very funny at times & makes the class very interesting and enjoyable.

Human Anatomy is going to be difficult if you do not study in your own time. This professor is clear & transparent. He will distribute extra credit/curves generously (don't be rude & ask). There is no fluff with him, he will not waste your time; he will allow you all the room you may need to apply yourself & learn the material. Great Professor!

He's a great teacher, very lenient and understanding. If you ever need help or clarification he's more than willing. He's very clear on what will be on tests and lab exams. The only issue is that he goes through lectures very quickly, so make sure you're paying attention and taking good notes (a recorder would be helpful).

I love anatomy and he made me love it even more! 3 lab exams are given using models, but you we take time to look over them everyday. Lots of memorization needed but he tells you what on the tests and as long as you study it's pretty easy. Awesome Russian accent. He has swerved my grades multiple times and given me pointers while taking the tests.

Cons: Has favourites; if you are not one of his favourites and ask him a question or a favor, he will demonstrate a nasty attitude. P.s recommend you study for lab in SRC on first floor CLB.

Makarov is a fantastic teacher, he's very fair with most of his classes and does not grade like it's a graduate class. You must study hard for most of his classes though, they are no cake walk. Overall, I would take him again for any science class. I highly recommend him.

Alex teaches in a way that makes sense and uses clincal examples to really make the information understandable. It is alot of information but as long as you attend the class everday then you will be fine. He only teaches what you need to know for the class. His lec. exams are literally from his lectures. He is the best!! I would take him again!!

His study guides are verbal, based on what's going to be on exam and it's up to you to write it down. He is very willing to help you understand the material and is patient with student's questions. There is a lot to absorb in this course, so prepare to study.. but don't blame him if you do poorly. If you show up and study, you will be okay.

His Russian accent is crystal clear and his pronunciation and memorable voice help stick with you for tests that depend on spelling. Great class.

Anatomy is going to require a lot of studying regardless of who you take it with, but Dr. Makarov makes it much more bearable. He does have an accent and although I didn't have any issues, some students may find it difficult to understand him. He is helpful and gives you a clear outline of what to expect on any exam or quiz. Dr. Makarov is Russian, but not hard to understand in lecture. He gives several extra credit assignments, and gives you at least a week notice before tests. MUST HAVE BOOK! He gives page numbers and topics to look at for tests - no official study guides. This is a time consuming class, but not too tough! Good luck!

Dr. Makarov was such a fun teacher and makes you laugh a lot. His tests were great length, 40 questions usually on the lecture exams. This class (Human Anatomy) is a really tough class. But he is a great teacher, and I'd recommend him. Make sure to go to the open lab as often as possible to study for the lab tests. I always felt I had studied the wrong things for the lecture tests, and I found myself guessing on some of the questions. He will give a small curve on each test.

I really enjoyed this class and enjoyed Dr. M. He truly cares about his students and your comprehension of the material. He is funny too! He uses power points which you can upload from your computer so a book isn't necessary. Would recommend to anyone!

Attendance wont be an issue because this teacher makes the class fun. He does not waste your time and lets class out early almost every day. His lectures totally prepare you for the tests along with some extra studying. If you show that you are interested in getting an A and are willing to put in the effort, he will help you make that happen.

First of all, anatomy is probably going to be somewhat tough for most people, but Makarov does whatever he can to make the class comfortable and fun. If you need to take HA, he is the professor to take it with 100%.

This professor was amazing to have. I wish he taught physiology! I ended up with an A for hmn Antmy which is very dense course already, but with the help of his pre recorded lectures and STRUCTURE LIST, it makes it a bit better to understand and grasp!
