Alexander Peshkoff is an intelligent professor, but that doesn't necessarily make him a good one. His lectures are loosely based on the exams he gives. The novel critiques he's assigned are irrelevant to the class overall. In short, he's a great person, just not a great teacher. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING HIS COURSE!

Mr. Peshkoff is a very intelligent and straight forward teacher. A lot of people are saying he's a difficult professor, when in actuality, he's simply just teaching; those who did bad in his class just... weren't smart enough to comprehend his material. It' just like any other class: a quiz every week, two exams, and three papers. That's it!

Professor Peshkoff is an honest grader. He will NOT allow you to retake any quizzes, so pay attention to the time on those quizzes and do not miss any. Pay close attention to what he is requiring in your papers, he will knock points off if you are not following his instructions. All in all, it was a good class.

He is great. There is a textbook and a book needed for this class. He posts two lectures a week, from 25-40 minutes long. He gives PLENTY of time for all assignments. There are 10 chapter quizzes, and most of the answers are online. There are two major papers, the midterm and the final. He gives good feedback and is an easy grader.

Prof. Peshkoff is passionate about what he teaches. I took his US HIST: African American emphasis and it was extremely though provoking. His lectures were deep and mind-opening. It definitely challenges you to think about the implications of the past to the present. He does assign a lot of essay and takes too long grading them. But, he's awesome!

There are gonna be a lot of in-class discussions based off the books that you read, as well as papers (2 book critiques and one ten-page research paper alongside a 15 minute presentation about the paper). As long as you read and come to class with discussion points you should be fine, he tries his best to help and guide you during the discussions.

I believe it was a great choice to choose this class as a building block for my future education. It was truly a great experience to learn from professor Peshfoff and I hope someday I get the opportunity to learn from him again.

Passionate about teaching and whatnot. Crazy amounts of reading imo. 2 book critiques and one 12 page research essay. We also had a few in class discussions, he only grades on a few assignments. The essays are not very well guided, it was a very much a "here you go, complete it by this date" type of assignment. I do not recommend tbh

Anybody who takes this class beware of the professor checking the online lectures. Professor Peshkoff is strict and he knows who watches the lectures and who doesn't watch them. He does give extra credit work and he is understanding if you are dealing with unfortunate family emergencies. I passed his class with a C and prayer. Good Luck everyone.

Professor Peshkoff was amazing. He's humorous, engaging, and helpful. I was a little nervous as this was my first semester in college, but he gave good feedback. There was a lot of heavy reading and a few assignments, but I had no trouble completing them. He also gave us the final week before it was done, so I had a lot of time to prepare. Take him

Great Professor, was super helpful and informative. A LOTTTT of information to take in class but it's amazing. I would most definitely take the class again. He's super into what he teaches and actually puts in effort. I actually enjoyed this semester of History a lot more than I expected and would def take it again with him. This is a great class!

Peshkoff was an amazing professor! Definitely tough but you'll learn a lot about history, politics, and government. He's willing to discuss any political issue whether historical or contemporary. He's also humorous and doesn't hold back when critiquing politicians. One thing to watch out for is cold-calling. If you read you'll be safe

He was a great straight to the point professor. He posted lecture videos and then assigned a paper every like week 1/2. The essay topics were difficult but if ur watching the lectures you kinda understand the point he wants you to understand which is slavery and the paradox of freedom. His prerecorded lectures average ~30-40 minutes. No tests

Literally the best professor I have ever had. He's so funny and understands that college is new to you, and gives so much grace. His class is so interesting, and he lectures so well that it makes me want to go to school. There are only 5 or 6 assignments in the whole semester, and they're only essays that aren't too bad.
