Very nice guy. Essay tests. If you don't like to memorize a lot of small details, but instead like your professor to focus on the most important concepts, Prof Reichl is for you.

he's a nice guy but his exams are not easy. he talk squite a lot and gets absorbed in his own talking and forgets students...usu. assigns a few papers, not an easy grader

he's an ok professor...pretty taugh on grading,,, but he also motivates you to do better...(and yeah, he does get too absorbed in his own words sometimes)...

He is a really great guy. Wish I paid more attention in class, but I did fine. He is very good at explaining concepts and allowing you to understand them. Easy material for tests, he tells you what to look for. Essay form, you know it your fine.Take him!

Prof reichl is a great professor even though people caused chaos to the room. He gives no notes but its not need cause just read the text and u`ll do fine. I never did anything and got a B in the class.

Prof reichl is the man.

Prof. Reichl is best teacher. He`s easy, his test are jokes , even if you know nothing you can still get a B in the class. He`s funny and you can read some material the day before a test and do fine. Theres tons of chaos in the room with some people but they make the class go by and their funny.

Great professor! Essay format for tests. He gave 3 tests which were pretty easy. Did one paper and 10 articles.

ok so his class is soooo easy. His tests are easy too cuz he grades them fairly. Hes not that boring actually so yeah take him and im positive u'll do well.

very cool, down-to-earth guy. the class is verry interesting if you're into government and politics, especially american. all you do is participate, write 10 article summaries, and three 2-essay tests and a guaranteed A. Test's are pretty easy.

A delight to have. He is such a sweet guy. His papers and exams are straight-forward. If you but a lot of effort to his work he will give u an A..

he is one of the best professors at Queens. His lectures are simply awesome. He is also extremely nice to all of his students. Grade received: A-. Excellent professor.

Interesting and concise. Gives extra credit and grade with exams to see if student get main ideas. Won't kill you on details, good class for non-major.

One of the nicest professors I've ever encountered. He's extremely easy and knows what he's talking about. You really don't need the books b/c he tells you everything but they're a helpful adjunct if you're majoring in urban politics. Like the last person said, take him, you will not be sorry.

How can you not like this prof. He is great, we love reichl, you dont need the books to get an A. Test and papers are very fair.Nicest prof, we talked most of the classes and still got A`s.

He's a really good professor, very helpful and explains things well, but that's not to say he is easy. It's not a difficult class, but it's definatly not a breeze either.

This professor is a great teacher. He's interested in the material. He also grades fairly. Obviously the two bad comments are from people who failed or got Cs. All I can say Is he's awesome and you suck.

VERY fair grader, NOT AS EASY AS PPL SAY HE IS!!!! His TA was the WORST, when she gave the lecture i thought she was having a panic attack or something. He's a kool guy though, just speak up in class and do well on the essays and u'll be good.

easiest prof for this seminar for CHC...reading every week...a lot of books but easy and interesting...papers arent really structured...and hes pretty free-floating...boring tour of Times Square...but its a pretty good class...take him.

A. Reichl is such a down to earth professor. He is the reason I'm majoring in Political Science. He understands if you can't do all the readings, and focuses on the broad/general, as opposed to small details like other professors. You can't go wrong by taking an Reichl class.

Prof. Reichl is a great teacher. He knows the material and has a good background in the subject matter. He makes classes interesting. However, he can be a bit vague when it comes to grading.

The best political science teacher, Gives good lectures/discussions without being too bias, easy grading, always willing to help!!

awesome teacher!! very very smart and though you do have to work and attend class, its well worth it! he is very knowledgeable on NYC politics and is great at teaching, doesn't just stand there and lecture. i highly recommend him

Prof. Reichl is a great teacher. He knows his material and presents it in a very well prepared manner. I graduated in Jan. and I wish I still could come and take his classes. Recommend to anyone interested in P.S. or in the Major.

Helpful but a bit of a bore (at times). Love his class though, he's extremely knowledgeable in his field and any student would be lucky to take him during their college years.

amazing guy, really cares about his students. very smart and clear. hes def worth taking i really enjoyed his class, i even took him again. one of the best prof. in qc. does require u to work a little but nothing too hard

Prof. Reichl is an excellent professor. He is extremely knowledgeable about the material, and doesn't just give boring lectures. He is a fair grader and requires you to work a bit, but its not too bad. He's a really nice, down to earth guy, and you could not ask for more in a teacher. Take him!

Good class. Attendance mandatory and you will need the text books. 3 tests, 2 papers...grades very fairly and nicest professor!! has a cool earring too!! not an easy A but it is very possible if you study. tests are essay format so you have to know a lot, although it is just generalizations

this KNOWS his stuff! you will learn so much from him about New York and American cities in general. Highly recommended. Fair grader, Encourages students to learn and ask questions, very helpful.

He teaches urban politics very well and the work load is not so bad. Mid Term, Final, 1 3-4 page paper and another research paper 6-8 pages. He is very helpful.

This is a professor worth taking. He is easy going but you learned a lot from his class. I would recommend him to anyone. His class includes two exam and two papers plus he give extra credit assignments.

decent teacher, if you take good notes and understand topics, you'll do well on his midterms. No homework which is big plus, and pretty interesting guy.

Don't bother buying the books, you can do well in the class with just the notes from lectures. Class can be boring & repetitive but he's a nice guy so it's tolerable.

Class is painfully boring, but he really is a really nice professor. You don't really need the books. . . and he takes attendance everyday.

I really enjoyed this class. Very informative and very clear. It gave me a lot to think about. Work load is not very intense. He says the reading is very important, but I never opened the book and I still did well. If you show up, pay attention, and take notes, you don't really need to do the readings.

This professor is awesome! Great discussions, lots of material. You will learn a lot. The textbook isn't mandatory if you write good notes but it's recommended to study the issues further.

such a great professor. he is not biased at all and if he has a personal opinion about the subject, he tries to get the students to debate about it instead of just shoving his own beliefs down their throats. very sweet and helpful. readings aren't necessary but helped me a lot for the midterm and final. worth it!

Some political science teachers just ramble and the student leaves without having learned the art of political science. Prof. Reichl isn't one of these professors. Take him if you want to learn political science - the real political science.

if POli sci is not your thing you should take him! nice guy! easy essay. test very straight forward in what he says in class. textbook helps for the test but otherwise you really don't need it if your not such a poli sci junky. def made my first semester in queens great!

Hes a really cool guy and his assignments are super easy. Barely read the book just pay attention and writes notes in class and you'll do fine.

He is very friendly and very helpful. His teaching style is more discussion based than lecture and the class discussions were always interesting. You do have to stay on top of the reading but the amount of reading he expects you to do is very reasonable and the readings are usually interesting. I would definitely recommend him!

He's very nice and approachable, but the content was extremely boring. He will write everything on the board and it's hard to catch up. The book required for his class was no help, as it was mostly essays , not really explanations of what was going on in class. If your into political science, go ahead and take the class.

Very easy-going. Class time flies by due to the nature of his lectures, if students participate, if not class can be tiresome. NO HW; just one paper, midterm & Final. Amazing class, you will learn a lot!

Yeah, Prof R can be a bit slow-paced sometimes, but you should be actively willing to listen and pay attention. Once I changed my attitude about the class and began focusing, the class was actually really easy, just try and focus. He's so sweet and loves when students participate. He was/is always willing to meet with me during office hours.

The main thing to focus on is that this man is so chill and laidback, he destresses you. You can get away with not doing the readings as long as you go to class and take notes because he simplifies the readings in his lecture. Your grade is based on a midterm, final, and final essay. Do good on at least 2 and you'll pass. Great guy

Such a big fan of this guy and his teaching methods. Firstly, he holds you responsible for your knowledge. If you come to class you don't have to read since his lectures are all about the readings. He doesn't use outlines or slides so get ready to write down a whole bunch of stuff. I can always make an outline of his notes, so there is clarity.

I love love love this professor so much! He is the sweetest man ever and really teaches unbiased political science and never ever forces his own beliefs down your throat. I would take him again if given the chance to. His lectures are amazing, and it really is up to you showing up, taking good notes, and doing the readings to do well in the class.

I love Professor Reichl's class so much! Like other students have said on here, he is a very relaxed and laid back Professor, and his lectures are very clear and concise. It is very important that you write notes in his class to make sure you understand the material, but his always there to lend a helping hand. This was my second class with him.

Super nice and laidback professor. Always willing to help out of class. He doesn't post PPs, just writes notes on the board, so you have to show up. His 210 class was graded on 1 midterm, a research paper, and a final.

One word: DYNAMIC!!! His lectures are invigorating, even when it's in the morning and you're dead tired. He is a fun and helpful person. Essay-based midterm and final, plus a 3-page paper. READ The Enduring Debate!!! Doing so will help you ace the exams and participate well in class--which he notices. Great class, even if you don't enjoy PSCI.

Extraordinary professor! Highly educated, incredibly humble, & passionately supportive. Couldn't have asked for a better educational experience. His class was relevant & interesting. Reading material selected was highly beneficial. I find myself considering aspects of my life I never thought about thanks to his teaching. Patient, kind, & awesome!

Such a good prof.! *Very* easy grader. Two tests midterm and final with 3 essays each but you only have to choose two. No in class multiple choice but the essays are very easy. Not a boring lecture at all! Not really a lecturer more like someone who wants the class to have a real conversation as opposed to mindless memorizing. Very nice guy!

Awesome professor who is very knowledgable and passionate but HEAVY on readings and TOUGH on grading. Usually get As and receives Bs. Did appreciate the conversational class environment which contributed to me learning a lot on urban politics.

He's a great professor who is really knowledgeable. Lectures can be boring if youre not interested in the topics discussed, and it can be hard to do so well because the final grade is only based on papers. Midterm and final are both in class essay assignments, and one research paper is assigned over the semester. I recommend though, he's great.

Professor Reichl is a great educator who loves to engage with students. He is lecture heavy and the lecture can drag on. He is kind and eager to help. Professor Reichl demands a lot from his students. I would only recommend taking him if you are a Poli Sci major.

Really smart guy who cares about his students! He gives you a lot of readings for the week, and you do have to be prepared b/c he puts you into discussion groups. Can be a bit of a harsh grader at times, but he does provide valuable feedback. Clearly passionate in his lectures. So a good choice, but definitely makes you work for the grade!

Expect great lectures from this professor. Makes you interested in the subject even if you don't like political science.

Amazing! Yes, he is lecture heavy, but is super nice and respectful. Assigns cool readings. really kind, goofy guy that cares about getting info across to his students. Encourages participation and asking questions. 3 papers, 1 mini response paper, 1takehome midterm, and a final research paper. Class could be boring sometimes but he did his best to make things light while being very informative

Best professor I've had at CUNY in my two years here. You can tell he loves what he's doing, and that he cares about your opinion as well. I had/have anxiety about speaking in class, but here I felt comfortable to always share my thoughts. A funny, smart guy and if you can take him then do so- you won't regret it. But make sure to do the reading.

Professer Reichl has so far been my favorite professor. His teaching style is amazing because it is easy to absorb. He explains things so well, in simplified ways and then expounds on it. He makes class so interesting that time flies. He provides great feedback on essays and tries his best to be available outside of class. He is just so engaging!!

Great professor. Down to earth when explaining things cares about what he is teaching . He has weekly readings and it's important to keep up with them to do well in the class. He talks a lot so it's important to pay attention and if you do pay attention his class is very interesting. He is very nice without being obnoxious or over the top.

very energetic and enthusiastic guy. He loves hearing the opinions of everyone in the class. No slides- gotta take notes or read the weekly readings. Gives multiple EC opportunities Midterm and final essay based both in class- he posts review topics on the exam so you know what to focus on. Also assigns a paper at the end. Definitely recommend!

Professor Reichl is an engaging and knowledgeable instructor. While the course workload can be demanding, utilizing resources like the free textbook and Unstuck ai for study prep can really help. Overall, a rewarding class.

I cannot tell you how much I love this guy. He cares about you, he understands you, he is very clear about what is to be expected. Alex is a wonderful guy and caring one at that. I love him soo muchh. He is very clear on what the workload is and how to prepare for his exams (which are very open-ended essays/short responses) I took him in Fall 2024

He expects attendance however understands if you can't make it. He does make up exams and gives extra credit. He respects people's opinions and doesn't try to change anyone interoperation, he is mindful and open. No textbooks but required reading (he doesn't expect it but it is good for exams Imo) He is not tough grader & give helpful feedback.

There's one research paper and 2 exams that are short responses. The exams have 3 questions. You choose 2 of the 3 to answer. He provides a study guide before the exams. Willing to answer any questions. He will respond to your emails within the week. Understands if you are unable to come to every class

Prof. Reichl is knowledgeable and passionate about urban politics, a fair grader, and easy to talk to! He gives extra credit and tons of feedback on how to do well on his written assignments.
