This was my first time taking Human Anatomy. I took the condensed session. Overall, she is pretty good. She gets a little off topic during lecture, but she is so passionate and genuine in her desire to help students. As for tests in the class, they corresponded pretty well with her study guides.
This class was so confusing. Furthermore, this class is difficult however speed reading through slides and always getting distracted or getting completely off task is not the student's fault. I would beware.
This is a difficult class bc it's a lot of material to memorize in a short amount of time. I took it before with another professor and did terribly. Masterson gave very helpful study guides for each exam, if you attended class gave hints for the exam on what to specifically focus on, and clarified questions during exam. Her ppts are all you need.
She's a good professor but she is super monotone. She isn't super entertaining and not enough to keep you awake. The only reason you need to go to class is to take the quiz.
She is a nice professor, wants her students to do well, but the lectures are long and she goes off topic a lot. She laughs at her own jokes, funny or not. She generally is super sweet and her study guides are super helpful for test. You do not have to read the book for lecture as long as you study the study guides. 10x better than other professors.
Masterson is a sincerely sweet person! The class is super hard, but she means well and will always put her best effort forward if you do as well.
Just go to lecture and be involved in lab. She is always there to help! Just stay on top of your work and STUDY FOR EXAMS!
Lectures are long and boring. Most of the time I didn't even pay attention. read the book and you'll be just fine. Exams are easy and she gives you everything that will be on them on the study guides she gives you. Sweet person that takes pride in teaching and making sure her students do well.
dr. masterson is the best professor in the bio department. gives extra credit, has a study guide for exams, has a review session. 4 exams worth 150 points, lab is worth 400 points, hw, pop lecture quizzes, very sweet lady and loves her job and tries to help her students. she's the best.
Masterson was a great professor. She gives out study guides and actually goes over them with you. She's very sweet and is always there to help. She does get off topic a lot though!
This class is made so much better if you have her as a professor. She really wants the success of her students and provides a lot of help if you ask for it. Her tests are not too hard but they do require a good amount of studying just because of the material being covered. There are easy points small along the way so make sure to utilize them.
Masterson has a passion for her class and students. She's very helpful when asked and wants her class to succeed. The downside would be the random quizzes and long lectures and sometimes going off topic. Other than that she gives you the best answer to each question and offers the greatest resource to help with practicals and exams.
Masterson is such a sweet and kind soul. Go to her office hours and get to know her! Yeah some lectures may be boring but who can make learning about the cranial nerves fun??? Not many people. She is so amazing and I'm so hype to have her again next semester ily
Passionately wants her students to do well which is always a plus. Tests are pretty easy, at least compared to some other bio professors I've had. Only gripe is that sometimes 2 or 3 questions showed up on the exam that weren't in the powerpoints. Probably don't need the book to get an A. Study guides are helpful but not inclusive of all material.
Lectures are long and a lot of content because it's a bio class. Before taking class read over chapter and study for practicals. study guides help, but also add things to it to help you because the study guides only go over main topics. do the quizzes and in class and out because they help your grade. just use online text and powerpoints.
Dr. Masterson truly wants to help each and every student. However, I personally feel that the kindness was taken advantage of by many students that wanted an easy route which led to hurting academic experience and integrity of those who wanted to earn their grade honorably. She is a great person and spirit, but is just too nice and naive sometimes.
She is so sweet. No matter what people say she is definitely the nicest professor Ive had. She cares about you and will help u whenever she can. Dont hesitate to ask, youll be surprised at what youll learn from seeing her outside of class. You will have to work for that A in this class but she tries her best to help. WATCH THE RECORDINGS.
Kind, understanding, and amazing teacher. Always there for you. Subject is kind of tough, but she is willing to work with you.
Dr. Masterson is very kind and soft spoken. She really just wants everyone to do well. She loves what she does, and is happy to help. The teaching itself is rather average, and she doesn't necessarily make it particularly interesting, but she puts in so much work to help you such as in depth study guides, with all of the information already given.
she's a nice lady but rambles on too much about her own personal life. she posts a bunch of random powerpoint and documents to try and make up for what she didn't go over in class, materials can be confusing because she confuses herself, exams are ok, do the study guide and read over the slides you'll be good to go.
Dr. Masterson is the most helpful professor on campus. She does everything in her power to make this course as easy as possible and to have as many students pass as possible. Unfortunately for her, she teaches one of the hardest subjects on campus. ALWAYS go to her review session before exams. Definitely would take her again on all levels of Bio.
She's a very sweet and caring professor. It's an intense class that requires a lot of effort, but she'll work with you and is always willing to help during office hours or after class. There are study guides and review sessions for all the exams.
Dr. Masterson is the kindest and most understanding professor I've ever had. She Is more than willing to work with you and goes far beyond what you might expect. She holds multiple review sessions for exams and records all of them. Tests are hard but she gives study guides and sometimes a few points of extra credit. Overall she's an amazing person.
She's very kind, helpful and passionate about teaching. She's whimsical and humorous which breaks up the monotony of the content. She's always there for you, willing to meet, and goes the extra mile by having study sessions, video lectures recorded, study guides, video aids, etc. You can tell she's a seasonal professional and loves what she does
Dr. Masterson is really nice. Don't believe what you've read about her in past semesters, this semester she has REALLY put in some effort. She provides extra credit, does NOT give pop quizzes, provides wonderful powerpoints (diagrams, pics, charts), and she really cares about us. It's clear that she understands just how hard this class really is!!
Professor Masterson makes it very basic and simple for learning the material in the most comprehensive way possible. Her lectures are amazing and she is very kind. She cares SO much about her students and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. Anatomy takes time, memorization and understanding so if you dont put in the work, tests will be difficult.
Much better than TONDI!
She's okay. Seems nice, I never really interacted with her for help or anything. Anyways during lecture she mostly reads of the slide, sometimes explains but gets side-tracked very easy. At times she'll be explaining and in the middle of it she say wait it's wrong- very confusing. The part I like about this prof. - her study guides were the test!!
Professor Masterson reads off the power point and gets sidetracked easily. However, she is more than willing to help or clarify things outside of class. Personally, I have visited her in office and talked to her which really helped me to understand A&P. I really enjoyed taking her class and would take her again if I have a chance to take her.
Dr. Masterson is the sweetest and most caring professor I have had at GMU. I took her summer AP 124 course and for an intensive summer course, I walked away with an A. It was a difficult course but she did whatever she could to make sure her students succeeded.
Honestly such a great and sweet professor. She really cares about the success of her students and gives study guides and review sessions. She does get sidetracked but she's so adorable that I didn't mind. Anatomy is hard but she really tries to get the information to set in. Glad I took her!
Dr. Masterson is such a sweet lady. She tends to read directly off the powerpoint during class, so going to class isn't really required. This class was pretty hard only because there is a lot of information to cover. She cares about her students and wants them to do well
Dr. Masterson is your best bet for A&P. She is very passionate and a caring professor that wants her students to do well. She took it personal when the class avg tanked on one of the exams, which speaks volumes. The class is tough no matter who you take it with. Attendance not taken, just don't miss a class like this. Lots of hw but easy points
She is a very friendly & caring professor. She puts a lot of effort into helping her students succeed in class and on exams. The hw and quizzes are easy & really help boost your grade. Tests are straightforward as long as you follow the study guides and reviews. If you put effort into studying you should do very well.
She is the sweetest professor I have ever encountered; however, her lectures don't go into much depth. Her exams are not difficult if you read the textbook or pay attention in class.
She is really sweet, and teaches and tests off of her powerpoints. I never opened the textbook and you get an online textbook with the access code that is required for class. She keeps a good pace in class so you can easily understand the material, and I love the review sessions she has before all of her exams they are really helpful.
For a 100 level course, this class is definitely difficult. However, I walked away with an A because of her review sessions/study guides. She cares about her students, and she tries so hard! Lectures are a bit boring, but she's funny. If you go the review and thoroughly do the study guide, you will definitely ace the course.
Probably the most outgoing professor I've had. Lectures might put you to sleep but the study guide accurately reflects her tests. Show up, pay attention, study a little and you'll get an A
Her lectures are a bit dry and not mandatory but I would go just because she is so sweet and they do help with learning the material. Theres a textbook but I didn't buy it and passed with a high B. her test study guides are pretty much telling you whats on the test. go to the review sessions and some classes, study hard, and you'll pass
Masterson is a good professor but she does read off the powerpoints from time to time. Even if you don't attend class, go to her review sessions because those help a lot.
Dr. Masterson is the best! I had her for ADV A&P 2 LAB and she is so willing to help and is very encouraging.
Lectures are basically her going over the slides, so it can be a little dry, but she really does try to add additional points you should know for exams. She's adorable and works hard to make the class as easy as possible; review sessions are very useful for the exams so come to those! Sometimes give extra credit for showing up too!
Make sure you do all the modules and do them well C through her tests (the 3rd one right before the final is the most difficult) and you should come out with an A or B just don't get Pneumonia like I did or seriously ill she cuts no slack. Expects you to learn why you are in the hospital bed-no joke which is why you see C under grade received
For someone taking a class outside their major I have to say that I had to study a lot to get the grade I received. Go to class(sometimes free E.C.), do all the modules(free points basically but where I learned a lot), get help if you need it(talk to her!!!), and use the online "study area" on mastering A and P( also helps in lab). STUDY/CARINGA
Dr. Masterson really knows her material, but lecture can be boring at times when she is reading off her slides. She does have review sessions which are very helpful. Definitely go to those. Take advantage of everything she gives you. If you do that, you will do just fine.
Masterson is the nicest lady and she really cares for her students to do well. Your grade in the class reflects on your test grades and some online modules and quizzes. Lectures can be boring because of intense amount of information. This class isn't a joke and is a ton of work but very interesting.
I loved Professor Masterson, she was very sweet and understanding. She is very helpful and she knows her stuff. She takes time teaching which is useful for those who need more time. Her study guides follow the exams 100%, and she will do everything in her power to help you get an A as long as you make the effort. Great Anatomy lecturer!
Very sweet lady cares for everyone! it does require a lot of work. Tests are pretty hard, but it is possible. She gives out study guides, which are extremely helpful.
She's great! Really nice and always willing to help you learn the information. She gives review sessions and study guides which help for the exams. As long as you study you should be able to do well. Also she does extra credit for attendance sometimes.
The class in itself is VERY difficult unless you happen to be a physiology whiz. Masterson, while caring and lively, tends to ramble on and on and tries to relate everything to the 'real world' and typically relates to the nursing students rather than the general audience. She is very understanding, but unless you show up and try, you won't learn.
Masterson's lovely! She lectures as long as possible (mostly takes the whole period), so she can get everything on the AT list. Definitely not rushed. No phones, but you can use your laptops. Her accent sometimes shows, which cracks me up because it reminds me of my favorite TV character from the leftovers lol.
Her lectures were completely based on the powerpoints, she cares about her students but gets sidetracked very easily. Her review sessions are like 3 hours long each but help with tests.
A really sweet professor overall, although she usually reads off the slides during lecture. Sometimes give EC for showing up. Exams are basically like review slides, so study those, attend the review sessions, and make use of the LA's and TA's review slides/worksheets also!
I absolutely love Dr. Masterson. I took her for both biol 124 and 125. You really don't need to show up for lectures; Dr. Masterson posts a 3 hour review session online the weekend before the exam. If you watch the review session in detail and take great notes on it, you will get AT LEAST a B on the exam. she truly makes anatomy easy to study.
The most adorable professor you'll have. She's kind, caring and really wants you to do well. The lectures are boring but full of stories and anecdotes. Use what you learn in lab and rely heavily on her exam reviews and you will pass. She's understanding, really nice and knows Biology really well.
The sweetest professor ever! She's so knowledgable about A&P and does a lot to help her students understand the material. She provides study guides and materials to help prepare for exams, do it and you'll get at least a B. Class isn't mandatory. Other than exams, there's a couple online assignments and online quizzes, they're easy. Take her
Dr Masterson is the most sweetest human I have ever met. BUT the course itself is VERY intense. This is a class where you cannot study the night before for the test because you will fail. It is also NOT a class where you can just memorize things for the test because it will not help you do well. You actually have to KNOW it.
She's a peach! Seriously Loved her class. Anatomy is difficult as all heck, but she helps make it fun and approachable. Loved her! Take her if you have to take 124
She is the cutest teacher ever however the lectures are boring. You just have to read the textbook, look at her slides, and most importantly do ALL the review sessions. You will easily have an A in her class.
Masterson is a sweet, kind lady. However, you don't need to show up to class because she usually reads off her slides (which she posts online). Grading is based off of small online assignments/quizzes and exams. She always hosts review sessions before an exam and full study guide, which is basically all you need to study for.
Dr. Masterson is a good lecturer. My lecture was at 7:30am so I was always tired, but still advise you to attend class. Study guides and review sessions before exams which are Extremely helpful. Go to as many as you can (usually the TA and LA have one). Tests are hard if u don't study enough. There are no projects and no pop quizzes which is nice
She is the sweetest ever. Anatomy isn't an easy subject, but she truly does care about all her students, and takes everything into consideration. Yes you have to put effort in any biology/anatomy course. Her review sessions are so appreciated! The best Anatomy Professor to take is her!
She's an overall good professor. She makes the tests easier than one would think it should be. You must read notes and you must study ahead of tests. You don't have to come to lecture but sometimes it does help to get things re-read few times to make sure it sticks. Tests are not hard if you study.
This class seems a lot worse than it actually is. Yes, anatomy is a difficult course but Masterson is incredible, she posts reviews that help you so much. She cares so much about her students and even gives extra credit for attendance towards the end of the semester. She is the best, 100% take her and make sure you fully watch the reviews to pass!
Dr. Masterson is fantastic! She is incredibly sweet and I really enjoyed her lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, however I recommend going to class and attending her review sessions because it will help you w/ exams. Exams are not too hard and there is extra credit on them. This is a hard course, however if you study its possible to get an A.
Sweet and caring professor! I love her so much that I am taking BIOL 125 with her as well! Could not recommend a better professor for this difficult class, as she explains everything very well and is always willing to help during her office hours.
Masterson is a real gem, she is so sweet and caring and she is always happy to see you around campus if you make your name known. Class is a little boring sometimes but she sometimes gives extra credit points for going to class. NEVER miss the exam review sessions!!! I love her so much though. 10/10 would recommend
If you are going into any healthcare related fields, you will need to not only learn but also understand anatomy. Masterson is perfect for this because the material she covers is wide enough to prepare you for entrance exams, but also specific and detailed enough for you to remember and actually learn instead of memorizing. Highly recommend !!!
Loved her but definitely study. She is so sweet and funny. She gets off topic a lot so you definitely don't have to go to class.
Masterson is an amazing professor. I would definitely recommend. Attendance is not mandatory, but extra credit points for attending is available. GREAT PROFESSOR
Dr. Masterson is a caring and sweet person I really enjoyed taking her the whole year. However, I found that exams were difficult because of the way things are worded and some of the written portions were just straight up confusing. She has 2 hour long review sessions which are extremely helpful though! Gives extra credit for showing up at times.
Professor Masterson is wonderful. She tries her best to make sure her students understand the material. Her study guides help a lot and her review sessions are online in case you have something to do and you can not make it. The tests have an optional extra credit section that helps your grade. Attendance is not mandatory but it is extra credit.
The best teacher. I failed anatomy on the first take. Dr. Masterson was my second teacher and I improved tremendously! She has so many helpful tools and reviews, her TA was also awesome and helped me so much. She definitely does not want you to fail. Tests were pretty straightforward . Take her
An amazing teacher. Took her for my first semester and second for BIOL 124-125. Signed up for her 7:30 AM classes and fell asleep for most of them yet still passed with a B. Her lectures are easy to understand and she takes her time on the harder topics.. She gives out free extra credit if you come for some of the lectures. Definitely take her :)
The best professor ever! Super sweet, cares about you and how you're doing in class. Attendance not mandatory but will give EC if class attendance is low. How to get an A: Fill out study guide and watch exam review lecture. It does take time but getting an A is very doable. Dr. Masterson is one of the best professors at GMU and I love and respect!
Dr. Masterson is a great teacher. She teaches the anatomy very well. HER REVIEW SESSIONS ARE AMAZING AND WILL HELP YOU FOR THE TESTS. The book isn't mandatory. I did not purchase. I used only her PowerPoints and passed with an A+
If you're a nursing major beware. Masterson has a passion to teach but shouldn't be teaching Anatomy. She's a Chemist by trade and can't answer many questions if they aren't already in the book or her power points. Literally just read off the slides, too many tangents, had some anxiety episodes, and so on. If you take her, the reviews are the tests
Professor Masterson is very caring, sweet, and helpful. Take advantage of the resources she provides because it will help on the Exams. Exams were fairly easy as long as you do the study guide and go to her study sessions.
Masterson is the sweetest professor! Her lectures might be slow sometimes because she loves to talk, but she is very caring. We always have a reminder for quizzes and exams from her. She's not strict on attendance, but if you come then sometimes she gives out the extra credits and good advice. Both 124 and 125 with Masterson is incredible.
SHE'S THE BEST! I took the online lab with her and she's just so amazing. She's fairly easy, very engaging and just sweet. I would take her again for sure! I can't think of anyone else who could've made this lab any better, and I as said, she's the best!!!!!!
I had Tomson and Masteron for anatomy and would pick Masterson over Tomson only because she gave out more extra credit. When studying for exams use the MMAP modules, her study guide, and the Ta's Kahoot and you should get an A on the exams. When attendance was low, she gave out ec too. Solid choice. Defintely study couple days before, never cram.
Dr. Masterson is super friendly and helpful! Her lectures are always intruiging and her class is heavy textbook and powerpoint. I would recomend staying after class to ask her questions during her online lectures, participation is recomended so you can answer your questions in real time. On the whole a real gem! Please take her class.
Its really hard to figure out her expectations. She really gets irritated with simple staffs that she can prevent herself Fromm she will give you multiple attempts but gets upset you you take it multiple time and e and punish the whole class for something a few students do. I regret taking this class. She is really stressful
Well! I guess today wasnt her day and she damped her anger on her students. She is indeed very kind and likes to help her students but she gets angry really quickly and that pauses several problems on her students emotionally.
I wish I didnt take this class with her. The professor who taught the class before her was great but unfortunately she no longer gives the class. Such a wasted summer- unfortunately. This class ruined my GPA. So I am suggesting yall take other class instead.
I have similar experience with her like other reviewers from this summer. I deeply regret taking the course. Her expectations are unclear, her day depends on her mood, understandable and unhelpful. I am a proud patriot and I wont my experience with her over shadow the great learning experience I have at Mason.
I am so glad I am not nursing student and dont have to deal with her anymore after this class. If she knew what she teaches, prepare her students for exams the way other professors do, and reply emails, she has some chance to be a good professor. She is missing every quality
Not the best, but she is ok. She gets distracted a lot when teaching and its hard to stay focused. Her exams are ok- review sessions were not as helpful. I know there are great biology professor at Mason, but she aint that bad either. Would I take another class with her? No! Unless I absolutely have it.
She is not my favorite Professor for sure because she doesnt reply to emails either address questions properly in class. I wouldnt recommend her at all but if she is the only option she aint that terrible hoping you wouldnt have any question that needs to be addressed.
I get what everyone is saying, she is not the most organized professor but I dont think sge is terrible. She has her days and sometimes she losses it and vent it out to her students- that is wrong but We need to understand she is human too
Taking her class was one of the poorest decisions I made. Like others said, she doesnt respond to emails and her instructions are always confusing. She kept saying that the class is easy but it was not. And the fact that she barely replies to email requests made it harder. She doesnt care if your GPA suffers due to her luck of communication.
Definitely a terrible Professor. She waited till the class is over to respond to your urgent email requests. She doesnt care about anything you may experiencing. She lucks the common requirements to be a professor. I suggest you aboid taking any class with her, if you care about learning or your GPA. She enjoys seeing students suffer
While this Professor claims to be a fair person, she doesnt understand her poor decision to ignore students email request cost them so much and is the most unfair thing to do!
Honestly, her class was not as terrible as some students say, but I definitely agree on her luck of communication. She ignore quite serious requests, and I know some student's grade has suffer so much. Also she doesn't trust her students, and it is hard to understand her expectations. You might ended up frustrated taking her class if com is key.
Masterson is the sweetest woman. I'm going to be honest, I've gone to about 3 weeks worth of actual class so far this entire semester and I'm doing just fine. Class is her going over notes on the chapters you have to read. Basically the run down on this class, is that if you have an amazing lab professor like I did, its going to be a piece of cake.
Professor Masterson is a great professor. Biol124 is hard, especially coming straight out of high school. You need to stay on top of your work and study all of the content. She is flexible and offers a lot of different resource to help pass the class.
Had her during the spring semester. Does not explain things well and the class is poorly organized. Materials are super difficult as well. Didn't like her at all.
She is a good teacher, but if you are direct entry you are a guinea pig in the program. The nursing program is poorly run, keep in mind thats not her fault. Go to lecture, build a relationship, study DAILY, work hard, and you will secede. She is a caring woman that will work w/ you when you need extra help. A good lab teacher will help you as well.
I can't emphasize how test based anatomy is, you must study, though the teacher is super kind and understanding, she provides great resources, just be prepared to study for exams, ( though she makes study guides that covers everything on the exam pretty well ) remember its a study based class!
Dr. Masterson is the sweetest person, and her class was amazing! She was so excited to come in and teach us each day, and anyone who showed the slightest interest in the material was always met with enthusiasm. She tells stories relating the material to her clinical experience. I've had her twice and she's one of my favorite professors at Mason.
Now I know I still want to be a nurse. I really enjoyed Dr. Mastersons sharing her clinical experience in the health field. It really helped me understand what we were learning in class. Dr. Masterson really cared for the students. I wished more professors were as thoughtful as she was. If you do not succeed, its because you did not try enough.
honestly wish she hadnt separated the lab and lectures but lectures were super long and boring compared to the lab
Dr. Masterson is a super sweet professor who is flexible at times and will make appointments to help students with individual help. She does make study guides and gives plenty of resources. She has exam review days and interactive study session before exams. She does tend to fall behind with lectures and will sometimes cram units.
She is so understanding of the struggles students have and really wants all of her students to succeed. She only has exams and while the book isn't required I would recommend reading it because a lot of the questions are from the textbook some are based on slide info. Study and show up to class and you will pass. SHE IS THE BEST PROF.!!!
Dr. Masterson was a wonderful professor and a caring individual. She made me fall in love with biology! Course is very content heavy but if you don't leave things for last minute you will do well. Dr. Masterson made study guides and held review sessions before the exams which helped many students greatly.
Dr. Masterson is an amazing professor! You can tell she is really passionate about teaching and cares about her students. She gives extra credit points for attending her lectures. Her test questions are based on her lectures, so if you pay attention and study you can get an A.
Masterson is extremely kind & helpful. She records lectures, so be sure to watch them soon after lecture to retain info. Review ppts prior to lecture. Attending class is beneficial, not only to your grade but also your learning. She offers multiple resources for you to pass, so put your time & energy into the class & you will pass. Good luck!
Professor Masterson is very knowledgeable in the subject and she is the complete opposite of a weed-out professor. She truly cares about her students and tries to put them up. Highly recommended!!
Professor Masterson is honestly super nice! her teaching style is chill. as long as you attend and pay attention to content in the lecture, and do the exam review sheets she provides, you will be fine. definitely take her if you can !
Dr. Masterson is AWESOME! She is a caring, genuine, and down-to-earth professor. She teaches her content very well and accurately and she also makes sure to prepare us for our careers in health. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Tests are a bit difficult, but honestly the extra credit makes all the difference. Homework and quizzes are easy.
Okay! She is messy, gets distracted easily and can't really answer questions. But, she is extremely nice, if you are nice and respectful to her, she will work with you to ensure you pass. She gives in class activities for points, SO GO TO CLASS! Be super patient, but you will pass Biochem, I promise. Exam questions are straightforward forward.
This was so far my favorite bio prof at mason. I was very concerned about the material and if it's going to be hard to take during the summer but this prof was so caring and was so sweet. She wants everyone to succeed. If you don't know what to take for bio elective then take BIOL-425 with her next summer. Literally it's an easy A+.
Omg, she is the best Professor I have ever had. The sweetest, most caring, compassionate, and loving Professor. I loved her class just because of her. She cares so much about each of her students and their well-being. Be ready to study constantly, since it is a BIOL course and full of material. I can't imagine taking this course with anyone else.
Dr. Masterson is so sweet! My favorite professor at Mason so far in the last 3 years I have been here. She is accommodating, cares about your grades, and wants to genuinely see you succeed. Most information on exams is from slides, but you really have to study study study because it is A LOT of information. Lots of bonus points!
Popular because she gives plenty of EC. Scheduled an exam during spring break and informed us of the new date
Dr. Masterson is awesome, would definitely recommend taking her again. This class is lecture heavy, as expected from an anatomy course. Her exams are pretty hard but she offers a lot of extra credit opportunity. She will always welcome student participation and I always enjoyed her lectures. Definitely would recommend!
Professor Masterson 100% knows the topic however when you take her online class she tends to fall behind the lab and shares too many personal stories that sometimes aren't relevant to the topic. She is super kind and gives lots of extra credit however I would avoid taking her online and would opt for an in person lecture instead.
Dr. Masterson is an amazing professor to take any class with. I took biochem in-person with her this semester and I learned a lot that will help me throughout my career. She also makes the class easy to pass by offering extra credit for coming to class and truly wants all of her students to succeed. She is the best choice, so take her!
Do not take her for biochem. She may be a good anatomy or pharm professor but not biochem. Her exams are very different from the slides provided and she says to not cover something but then it would show up. She reads off the slides and does not know what is going on. She is unorganized.
Masterson is very smart, however she can be disorganized and fall behind quickly. She is very involved and the one to go to if you have questions/concerns. The work is similar to 124 (similar assignments, quizzes, tests, etc.) If you are looking for a professor who is very to the point she might not be your best fit, but she's very approachable.
the best bio professor, take her!! she gives lots of extra credit
loved masterson but wished attendance wasnt required
Professor Masterson is great - very knowledgeable and approachable. The class is lecture-heavy, but she offers lots of extra credit to help offset the difficulty. For study prep, I found Unstuck study and the provided exam review sheets really helpful.
If you put in effort, you're guaranteed an A.
Although she was super nice, her lectures weren't that good and I never learned. She rambles during class and spends a lot of time of things that are irrelevant. Lecture becomes pointless but attend because she gives so much extra credit during class!!! Tests are online and kind of hard so rely on those extra credit points. Keep up and your good.
One of the kindest souls at mason! Her lecture style may not be for everyone but you can never say she's not trying or doing what she can. 10/10 professor class is exam heavy but she sets you up for success.
Here is a comprehensive review of her 125 class. There are lots of extra credit opportunities that she offers, and there are in class activities that use poll everywhere to receive the credit. Review sessions are helpful for exams and she holds them on Fridays before exam weekend. She talks about her life a lot and it can reduce class time.
Dr. Masterson provides extra credit but her teaching style is not for everyone. She tends to be on the slower side and gets sidetracked easily but goes into great detail. If you plan to go to office hours plan to wait 2 hours for your turn or spend 2 hours with her. Overall a very kind professor who wants you to succeed in Anatomy and Physiology!
