Very cool teacher. you will not fall asleep in her class, but dont anticipate to get out early. I higly recommend her class!
She was kinda hard for me, tests were hard, but she allowed a 3x5 notecard, written on front and back; so that was cool. She's kinda gothic. I got a D on the final she said, but I got a B in the class. She's funny & entertaining at times.
Definetly a fun class. Likes to talk, but in a good way, and is totally down to earth. Tests are hard as ****, but she gives you plenty of opportunities to get a good grade. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED
Totally awesome teacher. Expect to work, but you'll enjoy her class all the same. (Bonus:her partner at the coroner's office brings in slides for a show and tell)
SHE IS HOT! AND SHE IS EASY. TAKE THE CLASS. I THINK SOME DAY ILL MARRY HER BUT I GOTTA GET RICH FIRST. GOOD TEACHER.
GRAY IS THE BEST TEACHER I EVER HAD SO FAR. ONCE YOU GET TO KNOW GRAY, SHE'S AN OPEN BOOK. ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS LISTEN AND LEARN. TAKE NOTES, AND STUDY. YOU'LL DO FINE. I WISH THERE WERE MORE TEACHERS LIKE GRAY. GOOD LUCK!
she is one of the best teachers i have ever had also. the subject can get kind of boring but she always makes it interesting. its a hard class but she is fun
Really Great and Fun ... not boring like most of the anthro teachers
Very passionate, very funny. Best teacher that I have experienced. She spurred such an interest in anthropology within me that I am going to minor in it. Recommend taking this class even if you dont have to. Great Great teacher.
The coolest teacher to walk RCC! No seriously though Alexis is smart, funny, passionate, enthusiastic. I know this sounds totally cliche but, she makes learning fun! I actually enjoyed going to class.
SHES AN AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE TEACHER.LOVES WHAT SHE DOES AND TEACHES IT SO WELL, ITS UNBELIEVABLE. SHES INSANLY SMART, FUNNY AND A GREAT TEACHER TO HAVE. SHES DEFINITLY THE TEACHER YOU WANT!!! GOOD LUCK.
She is amazing!! very easy, very fun, and likes to talk a lot lot. Must take her. class is not boring, she's smart, and i loved her stories. she likes young guys! hahaha
Hard material to cover, but she made it very interesting.Grades based on test scores, no homework, the kind of class i like.
She is great and very interesting!!! She knows what she is talking about and is fun!!!!!
Alexis is nothing short of AMAZING!! Her lectures are strait forward and the tests arn't bad if study! She is unbelievably energetic and dedicated to helping students understand the material- not to mention a fun quirky person all together. After taking her class, I changed my major to Phys Anth. Now @UCSB I use a lot of what I learned in her class!
The best of the best in RCC. I really learned and enjoyed her class. She is a very dedicated teacher and loves what she does. The class materials are not easy, but she makes them fun and easy to understand. She is smart and knows what she is talking about. I wish we had more teachers like her at RCC. U miss alot if U don't take her!
Way cool. cute and great personality, will keep you laughing and in a good mood while lecturing. Test's are hard, but allows you to use a cheat sheet.. 3 by 5 card.. I strongly recommend to do the extra credit project. I enjoyed doing mine and it helped me get an A
very cool teacher. shes alot of fun and make you laugh. the class is interesting. test are hard, and timed, but overall i really liked it and would take her again
The coolest teacher i have ever had. She has been in school for a long time and knows exactly what its like and can relate to all the students. The tests are fairly easy, she gives you a study guide which is practically idiot proof! I deffinately recomend her.Great teacher!
I loved everything about the class. She is a lot of fun and I wish she could teach more classes :(
im taking Ms. Gray right now and all i can say is amazing! i didnt know teachers like her existed..i love it..would recommend it to anyone..i also wished she teached more classes..A++++
Very fun personality. Tests are fairly easy- she gives a study guide and lets you make a notecard for the test. Definately recommend!
She is an awesome teacher and i wish she taught more classes. I enjoy her lectures they aren't boring because you can tell she is excited to teach this subject. She's really funny and a really good teacher.
My favorite professor so far. Incredibly funny; classtime just flies by. I highly recommend taking her class. I have learned so much from her.
She's a cool lady. There's things she taught that I disagreed with, but I think that's from the nature of the class (subject). Very exciting person, always in a good mood, she's excited to teach the material. Class flew by. The test were difficult for me, however I waked away with a "B" which shocked me (in a good way).
ridiculous difficulty on exams, and that's the majority of your grade. I got straight A's other than this class and i took 14 units. she's crap because she bases it all on your exams and she administers them as if you were getting your doctorate in Anthropology. flying spaghetti monster? right... thanks for ruining my straight A's Dr. Gray!
Tests are kinda hard but she gives a lot of extra credit for homework this class was an easy A she is very fun and nice
Awesome! Awesome teacher & class. The tests are easy if you study! The subject is interesting.
Well...If you are good at tests, you'll like this class, her tests are for people who want to pursue anthropology as a career.. I could care less about bones & monkeys! The class was pretty boring, you can't afford to miss any lectures. And, on top of that, youre stuck taking her because she is the head of the department! Good luck! & Suck up!
Kinda wacky, but fun. Has great stories. Lets you out early. U can get away w/ not reading textbook. Mostly note taking from the projector (but has the notes available on her website, which we printed out and brought to class and just followed along). Required u buy a "CLICKER", wireless remote each student uses to answer questions from board ($60)
She's crazy, but the good kind of crazy. She's so funny and trust me you will not be bored in her class. I got a D (I think...) on the midterm but turned all other labs in, wrote the final essay and thought I flunked the rest of the final but ended up with an A so I can say she's not a horrible grader.
My favorite teacher at RCC.
mmmmmmmm she's wired, but the class is not hard if you attend and take notes, she entertains you, but sometimes is kind of CREEEPYYY
This class is FUN! I loved it! Attendence is not Mandatory but its good if u go coz u miss a lot if u dnt go 1 day! But she's an awesome teacher coz she talks about any & everything! She LOVES monkeys and her fascination 4 them amazes me! she told us a story bout a monkey who jacked off 2 her once!
Awesome teacher, she loves what she does and makes the class very interesting! Her grading is all based on the tests, but she let us use 1 side of a notecard for each test.. 3 full notecards for the final. Our class presentation was super easy. I definately recommend her! You will not fall asleep :]
Awesome energetic teacher, won't bore you. Tests are very very hard.
great teacher. i learned a lot,& she makes it fun. the class is work though, lots of info,& memorization, but she gives a study guide & lets you use note cards.print out the notes from her web site, it makes class much easier to follow, & it's pretty near impossible to write down everything she says any way. i plan to take her again,& recommend her
Very entertaining. Funny teacher, never boring. Hard class. STUDY, STUDY for the midterms and final. She gives a study guide for each, so everyone knows whats on the tests. She drops the lowest midterm. Highly recommand using notecards, they helped me out a ton on her tests. If you sutdy you can walk away with an A. I did!
I ended up with a B but i never did well on any of my test (D or below). I did all the labs though and was there for every class. She's really interesting, she's never boring and has a million interesting stories for each topic. I also never bought the textbook i needed for class. Maybe if i did i would have gotten and A. : / so taking her again.
she is a great professor and loves what she does. dr. grey is the funniest teacher that i have met and made class all the more interesting. tip: be sure to go to class it is mandatory and a big part of your grade. normally she has all the notes online so it is way easier to print them out then to take them. overall great teacher highly recommended
Fascinating professor. I found myself going to class just so I could hear her crazy stories and opinions on everything and anything. There is a lot of information to learn, but you could use notecards on the tests, and all of her lectures are posted online. I highly recommend taking at least one class with her.
AMAZING! this teacher will keep you interested in all areas she is covering, very funny and totally helpful study guide is your test so make sure you dont pass them up. looking foward to taking her again and she always lets out early and plenty of movies to watch ... great great great teacher
She is cool. Opinionated at times, but will not disrespect you if you speak out against her. She has cool stories and very knowledgeable. She will keep you entertained. She uses the clickers during lecture which is helpful for tests and makes the class more interactive.
A tad biased at times, especially when gay marriage is discussed amongst the class. She makes the work seem really hard, but it is actually very easy, and somehow i got an "A" in the class with a low C on the first test!
love love loved her!! shes's so smart and funny, insight, and fun. she has many interesting stories that go along with what is being taught at the time. although tests seemed ridiculously hard at first, just study and you'll be ok. i walked away with an A. just be sure to come to class and be prepared to pay attention. helpful hint i would print ou
shes boring. very boring. there is no reason to be in class except the points she gives u for being there. it is an easy class though and isnt a bias professor. again she is a boring teacher but it is a super easy class caz the finals and labs help u so much
Okay so I signed up for this class and expected it to be "fun" ya...its not. so im in winter session. she bases grades on two tests and three labs? I think Im not gonna do well even though i studied. hm insight please? By studying, does that mean read the whole book
It's chill. You just have to study, read the book, write a 3 by 5 note card very small for each test. do the labs. ATTEND!! its a big part. and you'll do just fine. dont flip cuz you got like a low grade on a test one day. like a d or c. you just have to change your studying habits. she gets off topic sometimes. but its chill, funny.
She is Aiight. I didn't agree with her anti-God remarks but I wasn't there to make friends. I got an A so that was cool. Never bought the book, only the clicker(which is just as much). I got a D on my midterm but with the curve it turned into a B. We got to use note cards for midterm and final.
She's a very good teacher, she's really smart and knows her stuff. I took her in the fall--you don't need the book. Study the clicker questions....I did well on one test did poorly on the others & got an A. Do all the labs and you'll be fine.
Dr. Gray is hilarious and highly intelligent; very enthusiastic about learning. She's also very nice and helpful. Reading is pretty much essential, as she asks questions out of the book that she didn't mention in lecture. She did not assign any real "homework" for my class. Her tests are rather difficult, but straight forward - no trick questions. Don't be afraid to ask her questions.
All lectures. Attendance is mandatory, labs should be done. And study for the tests, they are definitely not easyyy. Shie is very funny, and i like her a lot. I LOVE DR. GREY. :]]]
If I wasn't so damn lazy and dropped her class I'm sure I would've passed. She's very funny, nice, pretty, and you don't feel weird asking her questions. She'll answer. That's of course on just 1st appearance. I dropped the class after the 3rd class. It looked like a lot of work and I just didn't have the patience for it. idk. go ahead and try.
she is a down to earth teacher but the class is really hard. the material is super boring. Science isnt my thing and if its not your thing ither then dont take her or this class
she is a down to earth teacher but the class is really hard. the material is super boring. Science isnt my thing and if its not your thing ither then dont take her or this class
It's been 4 years since I've taking Professor Gray's Anthropology class but I still find myself talking to other about how interesting and well she taught the class. By far the best professor I've ever had. You ROCK Professor Gray!!!!
She is a good teacher but is very intimating to go up to sometimes she makes you feel like an idiot!
she is an excellent teacher. she totally inspired me to be an anthroplogist.... however, don't get side tracked in her class, (which is really easy to do). read your material, and take a lot of notes.... her test are hard. don't be fooled by her layed back personality.
She is GREAT! ive taken her twice now. Physical and Cultural. Attendance is seems to effect your grade a lot. you have to buy a clicker. just be sure to write down all the clicker questions she posts in class they're exact test questions. that's all i ever studied for test. well and overlooked my notes. test grades dont mean much due to curve.
she is an amazing teacher and actually has inspired me to study more into anthropology. she is a rock solid fun light hearted hippy! ive had alot of teachers and she definatly is one of my top three :) if you get a chance to take her class, DO SO!!
Amazing! Shes the best teacher i have ever taken, i learned so much from her. i had heard her class was very difficult, however i got an A. i never used my book, i just studied her notes and payed attention to her discussions.she is very passionate about her classes and shares personal experiences.
Flirt but don't touch for a better grade. Preachy, but easy grader if you appear to buy the sermon.
This class was fun!Mrs Gray made me laugh so hard i had tears cuz of her stories she is very laid back.As long as you go to class participate and USE YOUR CLICKER!!U should at least get a C.She wont get the #'s off the back of ur clickers til the end of the semester almost to trick u that shes never gonna do it BUT SHE DOES!!And thats ur attendance
I didn't really know what to expect from this professor except that she's tough, and believe me she is especially taking her in the winter term. She'll flat tell you "In the classroom I care, but once I leave at the end of class I'm not so interested in your success" so don't expect to get her help after class.
VERY ENTERTAINING!!!! I did not buy the text book, but I did buy the readings book. For hw she will ask you to read a ch from the readings and write a small paragraph about it. Would recommend this teacher for Winter/Summer. You also have to buy the clicker, because she check attendance off it and gives you pts for answering questions.
wonderful teacher
Ms. Gray is very nice and makes the class interesting with real life experience stories that relate to the course. There are no hw, projects, or quizzes. Just tests. Attend class, take notes, and read the book.
LOVE HER! she is so great! she really pushes you to learn and truly wants you to pass. her storyies are GREAT its amarzing what shes been though. Hot too! its the geekyness and she admits it. you have to go to class bcs the book can be hard to understand. CLICKERS you HAVE to HAVE. just find a used one
Alexis was a good teacher.. VERY entertaining, u'll leave every class meeting with a new story to tell ur friends. Barely any hw & only 2 easy essays. She'll make u want to be an anthropologist
Very interesting class, but definately not a breeze. You have to read and be in every class to takes notes or you will miss vital info! Fun projects but tests get harder instead of easier. The final was a killer! Dr. Gray is funny and keeps your interest, but when she wants exceptional work done (ALWAYS) she will not hesitate to let you know!
She's fun and cool. she's like a high school kid. she loves to laugh. you take a bunch of notes. a couple of essays that only need to be 5 sentences long. she doesn't like to read essays thats why she like them short. tests are hard. study study study. you'll do find as long as you study and take the right notes
She was a really fun teacher. i enjoyed her class a lot. i would like coming because her lectures were really interesting. i recommend that u come to class or else you will be lost. its a hard class for which you have to study for. STUDY!! We did a few labs which were fun.
She was a nice person but a pretty bad teacher. I really wanted to learn about cultures that I was unfamiliar with, but instead she just talked about herself through the whole class. It was easy but I learned almost nothing. She also talks rudely about people but is supposed to promote cultural understanding... contradiction.
I could not stop laughing in her class. She is hilarious. Always looked forward to going to her class. I had no interest in Physical Anthro before but now I do because of her. But make sure you study the notes or else you will be lost.
She is amazing. I wish I could just ride around in her pocket all day long. She's funny and smart and makes class interesting by tying in real life stories. I am a theater major and would rather go to her class than my theater courses.
Dr. Gray is extremely intelligent, and does her best to make you just as smart. She absolutely knows what she's talking about, but does go very fast. She will make you laugh (probably offend you-for educational reasons), and her tests might make you cry, but you WILL learn with her.
Alexis is by far the most interesting professor I've taken, hands down. But don't expect her class to be a breeze because she expects you to work hard and learn the material. Her tests are freaking hard and based on comprehension. I'll probably get a C but I've learned more in her class than in any other, period. Her Tutor "April" is very helpful.
Dr. gray is the best anthro teacher hands down! I started with Physical anthro because i like bones and now i am completely addicted. I am even the president of the anthro club now. She is hard but if you understand the material, its a breeze. April is wonderful. I recommend Dr. gray to anyone and everyone.
A fantastic teacher whose life expierences translate well into her class lectures making them interesting and hilarious. A teacher one will be regretful not to get to expierence. An easy to understand class so long as you pay attention and take notes. The tests are common sense questions that as long as you participate you'll ace.
Phenomenal instructor! Looked forward to her classes but she does expect you to study. Take advantage of April. Her tests are hard and she's not kidding when she says most students will get D's or fail her first exam...keep up on the reading and be prepared to answer essay questions on exams. Most questions taken from notes so go to class!
Dr. Grey is awesome! Most of the time she talks about her life and how it relates to the material. Her tests are NOT that hard. She lets you have a flash card on each test.Only 2 tests and a final.Don't need the textbook at all.Take notes off of her ppt presentation and review it before the exams and you'll do fine. She even gives you a study guide
Talks a lot about irrelevant stuff. She acts like a teenage girl.. it was hot at first but then it got REALLY annoying because shes a grown woman.. she randomly flips out on people. Her TA is a terribly grader. If you want to learn about this subject DON'T TAKE HER, if you want an easy A then take her.
She is funny. yes, it does get old, however, it makes the two hours of the class move fast. she is life experienced,motivated-only with her coffee :).
I LOVE her. She's excellent and makes me love the subject more than I already do.
Best story teller and she makes the students want to go to school i took both her psychical and cultural
She is ot to be the only teacher that, i personly, enjoyed soo much. She makes the class fun, and her stories are beyond funny.
Class was based off of lectures and group discussions (related to the textbook). Very interesting class and Dr. Gray is, as always, brilliant on every level. Cool projects due throughout the semester (we created our own religion as a final). Learned more than I have in any other class. Would retake for the stories and experience.
Dr.Gray is a great teacher. Incredibly helpful while not willing to put up with a lot of crap. Sure her stories get off-subject, but they are nonetheless totally interesting. She even let me reschedule a test due to the fact that I had just had a baby days prior to the exam. I got an A in that class. Love her!
Absolutely great. Dr. Gray uses a unique teaching style that engages everyone in the room. She managed to really make classes interesting with her frequent, albeit hilarious, rants. I plan on taking a class of hers again, if only to sit there and watch her teach. Great woman, has made a real impact on my life and may drive me toward an ANT career.
Dr Gray is incredible! Her stories and references make retaining the information so easy. Her energy and teaching style made me want to go to class every day and if you utilize her study guide, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A on the tests. Dr. Gray is fantastic in every aspect and I highly recommend her class.
She is a great professor, one of the best I've had. Her stories will make you think, "Wow, who is this person?" Her tests are hard, so you do have to study.
Very interesting class and Gray really makes it easy to listen. Tests are very hard however. Keep up the reading, it might help more. Did I mention that her tests are hard?
The comment that Dr Gray persecutes Christians is ludicrous. From her introductory lecture to Anth7: "It's become fashionable to bash Christianity. I won't tolerate it." Her tests are hard, so study. You're not getting off easy in her classes; they sneak up on you if you blow them off, so don't do it. Buy the book and pay attention, you'll be fine.
Ant 1 ant 8 more to come. What can I say? You've heard it all she's great amazing to add to it she's really a sweet lady with a heart of gold. Some just go by appreances and how she cracks jokes. Just makes her teaching even better. Think outside the box. She'll get you going!Dr. Gray is truly living her life's purpose.Pursuades you to do the same
She is a fun and unique person which makes it easier to listen and therefore retain more information. i found myself trying to think of an answer on one of the tests and i remembered her vibrant delivery of the content. very good teacher, a true original...and she is smokin hot(not just looks but personality as well)!
She's a great teacher. It's a tough class, you MUST READ YOUR BOOK, but stick with it even if you bomb the first test. She tells stories after lecturing to help the info sink into your brain. The comment about Christian bashing is way off. You just have to realize that Science & Religion don't mix,so put on your thick skin and don't worry about it
I have her for forensic anthropology. I thin she's a great teacher and very fun! You will pay attention!
It's Dr. Gray. Just take her. That's all.
One of the best teachers I've had. I took physical during winter and loved the class and now am taking forensics. She has such a passion for what she teaches and how many chances are you really going to have to take an anthro is one of the few active working people in her field who also teachs it? Not many. Def take advantage of all ops she offers
Very good teacher, with really engaging lectures and a great attitude. I enjoyed all of her stories and examples, and the class was a lot of fun. Make sure to read the text book and be prepared for essay questions. And take good notes during power points.
Dr. Gray was awesome! I heard about this Anthropology teacher and had to take her. I took her Cultural Anthropology class and loved it. Her lectures are NOT boring, her tests are hard, but she lets you use index cards. I didn't buy the textbook and still passed with a B. She's a great teacher. Take her!
She is an amazing professor. She really got me into the subject. Her use of personal stories to enhance her lectures were a great way to make the material applicable and also interesting. No one fell asleep in that class. I can't wait to take her again!
She is so into the subject it is really enjoyable! Has a lot of related stories to the material it will "click" in the exams. Tests are very hard but study and you will do better than you think. Whole class is curved so you will get a great surprise at the end, like I did with an A! LOVE THIS TEACHER!
Dr. Gray is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She truly loves what she does. Her lectures are interesting and entertaining. You will not be bored in this class. There is more than one opportunity for extra credit. She makes Anthro alot of fun!
I can't put Dr. Gray into words. She's literally the coolest professor ever. Every class is a comedy show and she explains every concept with a personal story so you fully understand it! I would get sad when class would end because I'd enjoy it so much. Take her class. Seriously.
She's cool and easy going at times. She try's to scare you and intimidate you at first and thinks everyone in the class cheats.
There is never a dull moment in one of Dr. Gray's classes. I would describe her as a mix between Deborah Morgan from Dexter and Diablo Cody. She is incredibly engaging and easy to learn from, although make sure to attend every class or else make friends in case you miss homework. She usually won't allow late assignments.
I hated this class. I found her to be arrogant and more interested in telling her life story than covering the material. There is supposed to be heavy emphasis on the book but I only opened it twice (once for each online test) and I got a B in the class. Assignments were easy. She just seems more interested in herself than teaching her students.
She is funny and has good stories to tell, although she can be a little harsh on religion. Overall she is an awesome teacher! Highly recommend.
Awesome class! one of the best teachers ever, and i think i have learned more in this class than i did in any other science i've taken! Dr. Gray's teaching style is very all over the place(to keep everyone interested)and still easy to follow. She likes to use her personal experiences for examples. But, she is super funny and great at explanations!
I love her anthro classes. It may seem hard because of all the materials she covers but if you follow along, you will be fine. I suggest audio recorder because her exam is mostly on her powerpoint lectures. Gotta love her personalities!! She uses a lot of life time stories to help you remember the key terms. Its fun taking her class. Good luck.
Very difficult tests. Not many assignments so if you don't test well, you won't do well. No extra credit, very few assignments. She is very entertaining though.
I've taken her cultural, cultural and language, and religion class. LOVE HER. She's beyond entertaining and relates everything you learn to real life stories that have happened in her life. Tests aren't a walk in the park. But she gives study guides. Best professor at norco!
Dr. Gray is a fantastic professor. Her tests are not easy, but if you are willing to study, you will do well. She is very helpful and approachable. Pay attention to her stories, for they find themselves into her tests. Difficult but rewarding.
She is a decent teacher. Shes wierd and teaches based on her opinion not very helpfull, and when she does help she complains about it.
Dr.Gray is awesome. She is very opinionated, but she is thorough and provides great details to ensure you remember things. Attending every class is essential, so dont miss class. Her opinions are eye opening and you don't have to agree, but they always had a great point to tie into the lecture. Test are hard so study, but the assignments are easy.
No interest in anthropology whatsoever, but I enjoyed her class. She's really funny and interesting and tells a lot of personal stories. I found myself very engaged in her lectures despite the subject matter being very boring to me. She doesn't place emphasis on the book, but its very important for the tests! Don't rely on her slides/lecture alone!
Took her for the anthro of religion class. Uses the book a ton. Make sure you have the right edition because I made that mistake. Do all of the reading and you'll do pretty well.
I felt that Dr. Gray made the class interesting, and had a point with most stories she told. The stories helped me remember the material even after the exams. The only downfall was that she did not always seem all that appoarchable. She kind of made me feel like my questions were nonsense which kind of pissed me off.
I'm not a big fan of Gray. She thinks she's funny and she's not. Very knowledgeable in her field, but she tosses a lot of her opinions around. She loves to talk about herself. Having the textbook makes this class a lot easier.
Mrs. Gray was a wonderful teacher she has taught me a lot and I loved going to class everyday. She had the most wonderful stories they were pretty interesting and they helped me out for the exams a lot just pay attention and read your book and you will do very well
Dr. Gray: Stern, stern but fair. The class was very enjoyable and a bit of an eye opener.
Dr. Gray is an awesome teacher. The subject is a hard subject but she breaks it down so that everyone can understand the science involved. Not an easy A class, you have to earn it. She was very willing to answer any question asked of her during class and after. I learned a lot about anthropology from taking her class.
Dr. Gray is hands down the greatest thing to ever happen to Norco College. I took her for physical first & was terrified but it was incredible and fun. I followed with cultural & couldn't get enough so I took forensic too. She is absolutely amazing. Study, pay attention, & read. Her tests are hard but she has a way of making info stick forever.
Professor Gray is very biased when it comes to grading. She has her little fan club in almost every class of the weird kids who adore her. She failed me the first time, then passed me with a C the second. Definitely not a fan of her as a teacher or as a person. She needs a serious attitude adjustment. She thinks highly of herself. She's not funny.
I've had her for ANT-1, ANT-7, ANT-8, and ANT-10 and loved all. I personally thought she wasn't that hard of a professor, but I've found that I'm pretty alone in that opinion. She does talk a lot about herself but the stories are funny and help you remember the material. Her ANT-10 stories were the best by far.
She's really nice and attentive when you need help!
Dr Gray is not at the top of my list, she is very arrogant person. be ready for a quiz every week and response questions weakly as well. i just thought it was too many homework for this class. she is bias. seems like she have VIP's in every class of hers but yea whatever
Dr. Alexis Gray is one of the greatest professors at Norco. I was not in her "VIP section" or one of her favorite students nevertheless, she always helped and wanted the students to succeed. Anthropology was a difficult subject but, she made it interesting and fun. The quizzes were not hard -_- peons. Her lectures help.
Professor Gray is one of the coolest/funniest teachers I've ever had! A good grade is not going to come easy, she makes you work hard for your grade, but the stories and teaching style she implies with her lectures made me look forward to class every week! If you want to learn some interesting stuff while having some fun take Dr. Gray!
This was my first college class and I have mild anxiety. Dr. Gray was very sensitive to me and very kind! I got C's on the midterm and the final, but she grades on a curve because her tests can be HARD. She uses lots of funny anecdotes when teaching, which will help you remember her lectures! Take notes and you'll be fine. :)
Dr. Gray is one of the most fascinating and honest professors at Norco. She truly knows how to spark interest and treats everybody as an adult, so if you choose not to come to class or to text all lecture, she won't even acknowledge you. Her tests are straight forward, her quizzes are open note, and don't plagiarize or cheat. She WILL fail you.
Her class is a joke. We spent more time talking about stupid stuff she thought was funny that barely pertained to the class. Then she gives you quizzes every week on the chapter we are supposed to be lecturing but she was always a week behind so the quizzes would be on things we hadn't learned yet. Tests are too hard based on how cruddy she teaches
I took her for anthro 1 and 2 and got good grades. Her class is not too difficult, you just have to take the time to study on your own. Her tests are hard, so pay attention in class. Not everything will be on the notes. She was a cool teacher and easy going. She will help you as long as you ask for help. Her classes consist of fun labs as well!
I have to say Dr.Gray is a wonderful professor, you have to pay attention in her class. You have to go to class prepared and ready to learn. If you think she's hard how do you expect to get to the university level? I think her class prepares you for much harder classes. I cant wait to take her again this semester.
Dr. Gray is entertaining to say the least which makes it easier to learn. Online quizes every saturday, 2 midterms and 2 assignments. The tests are hard you need to take time to study on your own. Show up to class and she is sure to make the class laugh. Essential to do the quizzes every week, don't miss out on easy points.
I took Physical Anthropology this past semester & I LOVED HER! I took a web enhanced class, there was a quiz every week and in order to get a good score you HAVE to read the chapter. I enjoyed almost every lecture and learned a lot. I would recommend her to anyone but you do have to work for your grade!
Professor Gray uses lectures to talk about her life story, she focuses too much on that and not the subject matter. Unless you're doing all your reading, her lectures do not prepare you for her quizzes. She has problematic "joking" behavior and should probably not be teaching CULTURAL anthropology because of it.
Her lectures are mostly about her and her personal stories. She expects you to understand the material on the level she does and talks to you like you're stupid if you don't understand right away. She goes way too fast when she talks too. If you read you will pass the class. Don't depend on her lecture to help you on the test.
Dr. Gray was awesome! She brought quite a bit of humor and intelligence into her lectures and she didn't read straight from the book like a lot of teachers do. If your looking for a class to challenge you, this would be it. Hardest class I've taken so far, but WORTH IT.
I'm a straight-A student and yet i still cannot understand why her tests are so difficult. She has very entertaining lectures and weekly online quizzes that you will ONLY do well on if you read the chapter in the textbook. Her tests, however, require extensive studying of both the textbook and the powerpoint - they're ridiculously difficult.
Her lectures are great, she's really good at taking her real life and her stories and tying it to the lectures which makes it more interesting and easier to remember. Quizes and exams are difficult but straight Forward.. I loved her class so much! She's a great professor and knows what she's doing, but doesn't have patients for ignorance.
She is one of the best professors I've ever taken and I would recommend her to any student that isn't lazy! She is supportive, helpful and gives study guides and cheat sheets for her tests. Class participation will help you along the way with a better grade. Her lectures may go off topic but the tests are based off review guide so who cares?!.
Additional tags: expect homework every saturday, participation matters because we use Clickers, respected by students, clear grading criteria, tests are kind of tough. She's a physical anthropologist so she tells A LOT of stories but they're always so interesting and funny while still relating to the information that we learn.10/10 would recommend
this is the class that you think you are going to get an F in because its so hard but then somehow you get an A because she basically has a presentation project that takes you from a C to an A i bombed her exams barely made due on homework and got my A all the while confused how i did so well ...
She's an awesome person period.
I took her class online. There's multiple short quizzes each week that aren't worth very many points, so make sure you read the book and try to get as many points as you can because she doesn't offer extra credit. Discussion board posts each week are worth five points, they are fairly easy. She doesn't give hardly any feedback. Powerpoints boring.
Dr. Gray is an amazing professor. Her assignments are interesting, and her lectures will never bore you. If you need help just go to her office hours. She's extremely helpful and nice! Read the book and study and you will have no problem passing the class. I found her quizzes/exams to be pretty tough even after reading every chapter.
I took Dr. Gray's class in spring at Norco College. I only interacted with her once but she's by far one of the best professors/teachers I've had in my entire educational career. She brings a lot of energy and passion to class and really does care about her students. She gives great advice to young minds and encourages you to think for yourself. A+
She was a great teacher. Very detailed with her material during class and related a lot of her lectures to personal experience. Most of the tests were based off of the lectures so attendance is a big key factor. I would take her classes again if she taught other subjects. 10/10
Dr. Gray is an amazing professor! I've taken 2 of her Anthro classes and she is great! You won't have any problem paying attention in class because her lectures are super interesting and shes hilarious. Her class isn't easy but it's not hard, stay on top of your reading, do your weekly homework, take notes and you'll pass no problem.
I had her for Ant 1, TOTALLY WORTH IT. she is an amazing professor. would do it again, and will continue to take any class that i need for future credits that are taught by her. Always has jokes and stories that makes coming to lecture worth it. She is so caring and always has you first.
Solid Choice Professor. Super interesting Lectures. You don't even have to show up for, but I do anyways because they're that great. She is such an Amazing person with so many great stories up her sleeve. Cares about your grade and your well-being. Take my advice and take Dr. Gray!!
She's a little crazy but that's what made this class fun. It was never a boring day in her lectures. There's A LOT of reading and it all mostly comes from the text book. Her tests are pretty tough but she drops one midterm at the end of the semester. There's a few projects but each one was fun
Dr. Gray is a wonderful Professor! I took her winter class online and it was pretty straight forward. There are chapter quizzes, homework assignments, a midterm, and final exam. Highly recommend taking her online or on campus if you need this course :D
Dr. Gray is very funny and makes her classes entertaining. She doesnt repeat herself, everything is on syllabus. Shes very respected. Shes condescending, is kind of full of herself, and tries very very hard to separate herself from the vast majority of white people. She give herself brownie points for knowing how oppression works against poc.
Dr. Gray is one of my favorite professors at Norco. She is so intelligent and inspiring and makes me want to be as interested in a subject as she is in Anthropology. Her class is worth taking, especially if you are in this major.
Very fun class, she was funny and made the material interesting. Was apart of her first hybrid class and would recommend. Assignments were relatively easy and were consistent each week, you knew what you had to do and when you had to do it by. Gave several attempts at the mid term, keeping the highest score.
I took this class online during a six week term. A lot of reading and memorization, but Gray made it a lot more bearable! She gave us 2 attempts at the midterm and 3 attempts at the final exam which really helped my grade. She is so willing to help, is so funny, and absolutely loves what she teaches. Just read the material often and you'll succeed!
I took professor Gray for the 6 week term over the summer. Great class Make sure that you do every assignment. The class consist of doing inquisitive questions for every chapter. Short quizzes that have 25 questions and one midterm 50 questions and one final 100 questions. There are a total of 13 chapters. I would highly recommend taking her.
She's one of the most captivating teachers I've ever had. She's hilarious and she's real and she's hardcore on grading. I know a lot of people complain about stuff like that but in all honesty that's what makes a good teacher don't be lazy. Her tests are harder than I thought so make sure you really study because quizlet will not help you.
When she talks she goes up and down with her voice which fits her personality of quirkiness and sometimes awkward moments. When she answers questions she likes to drag the answers out and she isn't concise or very clear when she answers, but she is sincerely trying to help. The class is a lot of terms and we played a confusing game at the end :/
2 midterms worth 100 pnts and you only have 90 minutes to complete. final is worth 200 pnts and u have only 2hrs to complete the test. Some Qs r from book so make sure 2 read. Some questions are random and u don't even know what 2 study 2 prepare for the final. Your grade is based on the highest students score in class. Save your time and money!
I took cultural anthro online with this professor and it was very easy. It actually made me want to learn instead of just studying to pass a test. Discussion boards are fun because you get to apply real life to the subjects you are learning about at the moment and interact with your class. Very thought provoking and will give you new perspectives.
She not a good professor. Yup'll pass the class, but she spends most of her time talking about herself.
I've taken Doctor Gray on multiple occasions (Norco Campus) and each time, although rocky at times, she has proven to be an excellent educator. She also keeps an open door for former students and will boost your spirits even when she is swamped with work. Honestly, she has been a god send, a true blessing for me and I assume for others as-well.
Professor Gray's endless, self-aggrandizing ramblings stole precious time from me that I will never get back. Unless you love narcissistic monologues, I suggest that you choose a different professor. I could only take the ear beatings for two weeks and I had to drop to get my refund.
Im taking her online and her class is great. im going to take her for ant 2! hopefully she will be just as good
Im taking her online for fall. Every week 1 discussion post is due, 1 preview quiz(3questions) and 1 quiz (20ish) is due. Everything is easily found online. Stay ontop of the due dates because it is an online class. I woulda had an easy A but i forgot i was even taking it at times and missed assignments. Would definitely take online again
Very structured online class, I learned a lot and found it was really interesting. Dr. Gray replies to email fast and is always willing to help
not a good prof. Spends most of the time talking about herself. Took the class for credit but will not take her again.
Dr. Gray is really caring. I took her physical anthropology class online and it was fairly easy. I learned a lot and all the work is little quizzes and a chapter review quiz per week. You will need a textbook with the inquizitive code.
Professor Gray is an amazing teacher. I took her class over the fall, and it was easy. You have to read a lot to pass This coursequizzes and homework due once a week. There are no makeup quizzes, so you better not forget every time they are due. I highly recommend this professor.
Dr. Gray is an amazing professor. She really wants you to learn the material. Just do the work and its easy to get an A. I missed 2 quizzes and still got a B. She also gives you Sunday off, which is nice.
I am a sophomore in high school and took this class online during summer. This class was so easy. Most of the work involved reading and completing quizzes and reviews through the blackboard. Dr. Grey uses interactive software which really help you to understand the material. You can retake midterms & finals up to 3 times keeping the best grade.
Fairly easy class, expect a large amount of reading with Inquizitive assignments to follow. She gives you an unlimited amount of tries on each chapter, and takes your highest (including 100%). Multiple tries on exams, including final exam, takes the highest score. Often checks on the class and is truly caring!
This class was well structured and perfect for online. Do all the work in the order she recommends and you will pass with an A.
Professor made the class as straight forward as possible. Every chapter has a quiz, video quizzes and an inquisitive assignment. She allows multiple attempts on exams. Anthropology Is an interesting subject. Read the chapters do you're assignments and you will do great.
I think this is the easiest class at the college. Just do the reading and you'll have 0 problem getting an A. Dr. Gray has a clear syllabus, grading criteria, and course load. Any student could easily handle this class while dealing with other heavy classes and coursework. Perfect professor for ANT-1 online!
Professor Gray is one of the best professor out there ! I absolutely loved her class trust me theres no way to fail her class you just need to do her homework! Shes so sweet and caring and reminds u when things are due ! Awesome professor!
Great professor.. interesting lectures
Super sweet teacher. Is very active regarding your progress and helps when you need it.
I've taken Dr gray many times. She is someone I still thinking about and tell stories about. Seeing that recently she got a lot of bad grading is sad, I'm sure it's because she expects students to do their work and she is a tough grader. I bet all the reviews from June 5th 2022 were from the same, sexist person. My experience was pleasant.
Alexis Gray has a passion for the subject of anthropology. She is an energetic lecturer. It is unfortunate she is not very professional in her class conduct which is distracting from the subject material and she has an unclear grading criteria for assignments. I recommend to take a different professor for the class if possible.
This was an online class but she seemed very nice. Usually sent a reminder of work that isn't complete. Her lectures were on youtube and the homework was on a website. Quizzes were weekly but were pretty easy.
Rude, offensive and disrespectful to cultural diversity. Ignorant to the fact we can sue.
Absolutely loved Dr. Gray's class/material. Her lectures were so clear and interesting! She's a really easy grader AND gives you reminders of things that are close to being due (if you're somewhat behind). You don't really need the book. 10/10 recommend for an easy & interesting course. Plus she's super nice and responds quick to emails.
TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! It's literally the easiest thing ever, you have 3-4 assignments a week that take maybe around 45 mins to an hour to complete. Not each, it takes 45 mins to an hour to complete ALL of your work for the week. You also have 3 multiple-choice exams but those are easy as well. TAKE THIS CLASS FOR UR SCIENCE REQUIREMENT!!!
She was always invested in her students learning the material and turning assignments in on time, drops the lowest test and quiz. Course is very straight forward there is no confusing assignment directions. Clear rubric and she offers a lot of support.
Professor Gray was an amazing professor she really shows that she cares about her students well being and grades. The class is overall very easy there three assignments a week that are due that can be done in less than 30 minutes. Professor gray is a really easy grader.
I didn't find this subject to be particularly easy but the materials and lectures were very straightforward. Class was well organized and the teacher was very accessible. Overall good experience.
Great Professor! She is always available for her students whenever we needed help. Her class was laid out very nicely so it made it easier to navigate through everything. She is an easy grade! Just listen to lectures and keep up with assignments every week. 3-4 assignments a week! Would definitely recommend taking her class!!
I just LOVED Professor Gray. She is the most intelligent person I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. The class material is tough, it's very memorization heavy, but she makes lectures so fun. I loved this class solely because of her.
I had Professor Gray as a late start class this spring and regardless of the short amount of time there was, I enjoyed the class content. Her lectures are great and she is very charismatic. The workload was sped up and crunched together so be sure to do everything on time. I recommend taking her!
Can not say enough great things! The lectures were easy to comprehend and the assignments are super straightforward! You would be a fool to take this class with any other professor!
The lectures were great: clear, engaging, and extremely helpful for clarifying and expanding the textbook material! The material was very memorization-based but the grading criteria was clear and the due dates reasonable. Her teaching style made the class enjoyable and interesting.
Clear, engaging lectures. Uses a no cost online textbook. Provides extra credit opportunities. She has awesome energy! I would definitely take again.
Professor Gray is a charismatic and engaging teacher. The class is memorization-heavy, but she makes the lectures fun. Stay on top of the weekly assignments, and use tools like unstuck ai alongside the readings to prepare. Overall, a great class with a manageable workload.
Absolutely amazing teacher! Her lectures were very enjoyable and teach you a lot of the information, you absolutely have to watch them. I didn't think I would enjoy an anthropology class, but she made it so enjoyable! One of my favorite teachers I have ever taken for sure
Her course was very interesting, she does not respond to email quick. She do provided the text book, and her quizzes are easy and you get 3 try event on the finale exam. Honestly you can find most of her work online unfortunately. But I recommend reading and taking time to understand the work.
Absurd professor who thinks something of herself and should be kept away from other humans at all costs.
worst teacher i've ever taken. she is not understanding nor empathetic to homeless students. and she the way she talks to her students is rude and disrespectful
I love her so much! Her positive and caring attitude made the class so much more fun. I will truly miss her as my professor she was by far the best!
There's 2-3 video lectures and tests due every week. The video lectures are her lecture with 5 quiz questions embedded into it. The tests require respondus, but they are open book. Overall, it was easy to see how passionate she is, and I recommend this professor to everyone.
So so sweet, makes jokes mid lecture so you don't fall asleep, super easy class just needs time and effort for homework, tests are exactly like the lectures.
Her class is easy, but she's so disrespectful! I asked one simple, polite question, and in return, I got a paragraph insulting and disrespecting me. I recommend you do your best in class to avoid ever talking to her. She seriously shouldn't be a professor, super UNPROFESSIONAL at her big age. Pos human.
Unfortunately SHE IS VERY RUDE, and just so you know. ALL THE QUIZES ARE PROCTORED
"Instead of late work, I have a generous drop policy"
I thought the comments about how rude she was were exaggerated. They are not. It really is unbearable the way she grades and talks.
