Dr. Peters is the most disrespectful, ignorant, and preachy teacher I have ever had. She seems unable to separate the teaching material from her own personal opinions. I go to class to learn about the subject matter, not to be judged at about the lifestyle choices of my generation. I would NOT recommend her.

Alexis is a joke. She keeps describing the Netherlands and Switzerland as progressive societies, when they have banned minarets and elected fascist parties. She talks about the Holocaust as the last genocide in Europe, acting as though Bosnia never happened. The KKK is the main worry,not rabid anti-Muslim hatred. She's dull, ignorant, and strict.

If you get on her bad side, you lose all rights in the class to speak. Her exmas are unfair and difficult, and her lectures are very all over the place. Would not recommend her to anyone.

Terrible prof. She actually told the class she had never had a bad response to her exams and I know that's not true. She also marks her written in a crazy way. How can the class ace the multiple choice and fail the written. She would miss your answer that was right and was written in front of her.

Alexis is quite preachy in her lectures, and is very opinionated. She can be condescending to those students who do not agree with what she is preaching. Her tests are horrible. How can a written answer be worth one mark, and you have to write a page worth? How can she expect anyone to write decent answers for a million questions in two hours?

Lectures don't really have any relevance to the textbook. Midterms are stupid because you don't know which one to study. if the book or her lectures. The multiple choice part might be easy but she is really tough on the written part which is half of your test. Avoid her,She's also crazy. She is very sensitive about everything and cry over an email.

Dr. Peters is a nice person, but as soon as I expressed an opinion that was different from hers, I could feel her attitude towards me change. Also, after midterms, she review the test but she only calls on the students that got a A to answer questions. In every other class this semester I have at least a B+. I barely got a C in this class.

I gave her a chance w/o being judgmental. She is very passionate and knowledgeable of what she teaches. However, she continuously complains about this & that. Want to ask questions after class? No sorry. Get's very frustrated and rude towards us students when we do not do our work according to her standards; even if the work was done right. AVOID!

She says that a good sociologist respects people and their opinions but she does not. Constantly makes faces when she dislikes a comment or disagrees with what someone is saying. She is not approachable at all so don't bother trying because all you will get is a nasty look from her when you do. I recommend taking sociology but different professor.

She says the classes are discussion based, but if you say anything outside of her opinion of what's right she'll tell you you're wrong. I felt uncomfortable voicing an opinion in her class, and felt like she was pushing her own on to everyone with no compromise. Definitely would never take a class with her again.

Out of my three years of going to Mount Royal University, this professor has got to be the first prof that made me take my time out of my day to write a review of her. She makes the learning environment very uncomfortable especially if you are a student that does not attend all of her classes. If you dont agree with her opinion good luck.

Teaches outdated material on an overhead projector, and overhead sheets with the words worn off. If you have messy printing, she'll tell you to try harder but her printing is 10x worse.

Dr. Peters tends to undermine many of her students, treating us as though we know nothing and calls us pathetic. She has also dared us to take what she says to the Dean. She picks on the same few kids, and doesn't bother to remember anyone else's names. I have sat in the front row all semester, participating in class and she has no idea who I am.

The rudest prof I've ever taken at MRU. Her stupid British jokes are extremely offensive. This class was a waste of my time and money. Would not recommend this class to anyone, not even my enemies. Oh my god. This prof made me want to drop out of school. Her lectures are so dry and condescending. She doesn't even know what she's talking about half the time. She continuously bashes those who use technology, probably because she doesn't know how to properly use a computer for her lectures. Shuts down peoples opinions if they go against hers.

Dr. P is one of the hardest test graders I have ever met. If your answers go against hers she will make you wrong and give you a bad mark. She wants us to participate in class but when we do she shuts us down and criticizes our PERSONAL opinions. I wish I dropped out of this class when I had the chance. Dr.P's class is based on facts and statistics that are VERY outdated. Will be penalized if she does not like you or you do not agree with HER opinion. Grade is based on 3 tests and there is no consistency in marking. Lectures are extremely boring/irrelevant. Great class if not taught by her. Avoid this prof at all costs. Waste of time and money.

Dr. P is a somewhat nice person, however the tests are graded way too harshly. Material is outdated and made us do the student evaluation in class which I didn't like at all. Wouldn't recommend. She thinks she's inspiring and tells you "you never know what people are going through" but then scowls at differing opinions and calls you out in class.

Without a doubt the most boring professor I've ever had at Mount Royal. She doesn't go over the contents of the actual textbook, her lectures are too dry and pointless, and I don't learn anything. It sucks that I ended up with her for a mandatory course. Her tests are also unfair. 90 question midterms? The other section only had 25 questions :(

Lectures are full of life lessons and no course material and she doesn't believe in power point. She does know a lot though. Gets super mad if people don't participate. Her tests are super hard and have nothing to do with what she teaches in class but attendance is 15%. Only reason I passed was because I taught myself. The textbook is your friend.

Her lectures are interesting, and you can tell by the way she teaches that she's incredibly passionate about the topics. However, she marks fairly hard on the exam, and her exam questions are not very clear. Attendance is a must, as she uses the lecture for the exams questions. Therefore, make sure to know her "buzz words" or she will give you a 0.

Easy class, just show up, do what she tells you and you will get A+. The only thing is she's not very accommodating, if you need to leave class she will make an example of you when you get back. Pretty much just become a mirror of herself and you will get a good grade. Don't expect understanding or patience though or having your own opinion

Honestly, MRU needs to do something about this. I have no idea how she's a professor in a university. One time in our class, a student asked if the exam was cumulative which is a basic yes or no question and she answered with " class, what do we think about this question?" and just totally embarrassed our classmate. She's a terrible professor .

I really wanted to see this prof out but unforunately all of the bad reviews on here are accurate. The thing that made me drop was her announcing the date of the midterm the day before the midterm. Yes she did have a syllabus but she made it very clear in the beginning that the dates posted were wrong and she would update us as it went on.

Mandatory attendance, yet no valuable info learned in lecture. ALL at-home textbook learning. Tells stories about her life, puts them on tests. Ex. "Whats my least favourite curse word?" Jokes about getting reported/ her bad reviews. Acts like she is the most important/special person to ever live. Makes terrible claims about sexual harassment.

Her midterms were impossible and same with her final, she would test on unrelated questions such as why i was late on this specific day, what music video did in play on this specific date etc. She favours boys or people who suck up to her. Almost all of the learning was self lead and she would shame people in class for any reason she thought fit.

I read the reviews and thought she couldn't be THAT bad so I took her class. Huge mistake. I have a 3.9 GPA but this class will bring that down. I've enjoyed every class/prof I've had in my 4 years, even the ones that had bad reviews, but I seriously suggest you don't take any of her classes unless you absolutely have to. She makes me miserable.

Every lecture was her berating students for bad reviews online or things that she disagrees with, and no actual teaching. Everything is textbook, still have to show up in case she asks unrelated questions about herself and her personal life on the tests. Consistently discredits MRU as a whole. If she hates teaching, she shouldn't teach.

She yelled at me in class for ‘not knowing' a school rule, and as soon as i found the policy on the website and showed it to her, she apparently never said yelled at me in class in front of everybody.
