Hard class but good professor. 3 exams. if you did well in college algebra and can apply that knowledge to basic business concepts you're fine. Studying the HWs will set you up for the tests. His anecdotes are interesting and you will learn macroeconomics from a application or real life standpoint which is very helpful.

Tests are mostly based on in class notes. He curves. If you study, you'll do fine. He's helpful and answers all questions.

He's a new professor. He's very laid back. Alot of note taking in his class. If you get lost, just ask a question right then and there. He's willing to stop the class to answer. His HW isn't hard but should be done. His exams aren't so tough if you pay attention and understand the concepts in class. He wants you to pass :)

If u dont understand something, he will stop and explain it to u until u completely understand the material. exams are good if u study from your notes. homework is easy and he goes over it for ur complete understanding. Honestly, I haven't watched ANY of the lectures, but I take notes from the homework, and I do the homework with the e-book that I bought with the access code and am still doing very well. Great professor, very helpful, writes back almost immediately. He WANTS you to succeed. I recommend study groups too, for the exams.

Watch the lectures, take notes, do the hw and you won't need the book. He covers all the info you need to know. If you study and understand the notes he gives in class you'll be fine. The tests are multiple choice, and he's a cool dude. Lectures can be a little annoying to be ontop of but its convenient because you can watch them whenever you want

I was a little adament about taking an online course, but the professor changed that.He writes everything he says down so you won't be going back and forth to catch it all. He also makes good jokes making everyone laugh. You only need to show up 3 times for tests. I do recommend buying the physical copy of the book because that makes the hw easier.

Great professor! Super clear and knows his stuff. Homeworks are harder than the exams, but he sets up a Facebook page so everyone can help each other. He curved the final grades a bit. I would definitely take him again.

He makes things clear and easy to understand. The material is a little hard. So you should definitely study for exams. Most exam questions come from the hw. Find a buddy to do the hw with so you can take turns (you get a better chance at getting an A). Copy his notes, do hw, study for exams, and you'll pass with a good grade :)

You must take his class,GREAT PROFESSOR. I don't understand how his easiness is 2.8. I'm not an economics person, but the professor was sooo helpful that it made a big difference in my grade. You can't expect to study a day before for this class, you must do the work and try hard in the homework, it's 25% and can have a big impact in your grade.

This professor is awesome! I took AP Microeconomics in high school and I disliked the subject. With this professor, it made me like microeconomics! He's super clear and always asks to make sure you understand what he's saying. He says a couple of jokes to make the class more enjoyable. Do the homework because some question are on the exam!

My favorite teacher in college history... This man makes Intermediate microeconomics a breeze as long as you have a little calculus knowledge... likes to goof off in class but covers all material needed. Exams are exact replica of HW. Do HWs multiple times and ur guaranteed to learn and excel in this class!

He is the best professor I have taken yet. He is extremely clear with the subject and makes the math extremely simple for you! You barely use the textbook so it is not necessary - as long as you watch the videos you don't need to go to class or buy the textbook. He breaks down for you exactly what he's going to test you on!

Grade consists of 3 tests and the homework assignments. Prof is helpful and tries to relate fo students. He is available to assist students and has a humorous personality. This class is pretty easy as long as you pay attention to the lectures. The professor is very straight forward and teaches very clearly! Attendance isn't mandatory (you can watch the videos online) and even if you do go to the actual lectures he tries to keep you interested by making little jokes every now and again. Cool guy and pretty easy class.

Straight forward and teaches exactly what you need to know for tests. Homeworks are a bit challenging and can only be done once but it really helps when it comes to exams. He really tries to help his students

One of the best professors I've ever had. He teaches everything very clearly and is very easy to understand. The class is very easy if you keep up on the lectures and take notes. He makes it very easy to get an A. The only reason I got a B is because I slacked on a test and waited to watch all the lectures the night before. Don't do that.

I think he is the best professor in the Economics department in FIU, I have learned a lot with him. He is very clear and stops every two seconds to see if the students have any questions. Great professor, take his class! He teaches by writing his own notes as he's explaining and projects it onto the screen. Not like most professors who use Powerpoints and just read them. He makes everything very clear and easy to understand. Hw is online, tests aren't hard. I didn't have to read to pass, but doing all the hws helped a lot.

One of the best economics professors at FIU. I would take all my classes with him if I could. His explanations are crystal clear, he is very fair. Exams right out of homework, but the bottom line here is that you LEARN with him. If you must take this class, take it with him. 2 exams + HWs. Make sure you know how to calculate derivates going in.

Took this class Fall 2013. A midterm, a final and homework worth only 10 percent. It is not an easy class, but it is not difficult either. Just make sure you go to class and take notes.

Dropped this class becoz of an unclear prof. Rodriguez is SO helpful! I was super scared to take this class online, but SO far I understand EVERYthing he goes through, videos r soo helpful.. just rewind until it is clear, easy HW too! I am confident it will b an easy A if I continue takin VIDlecture notes n book. Soo happy I didn't drop this class!

If you have the option, take him online. His online class is a lot easier than the in-person one. He posts his class lectures online which will save your life. If taken online, the tests are on blackboard and you'll have one hour to answer 40 questions. Whenever I emailed him, he responded immediately. Overall I would definitely recommend him.

He's very straight forward and honestly a great teacher. Taking his class online is way easier than being in class. His lectures are from is M-W-F classes and you can watch them over and over to help you. His homework, to me, was way harder than the 3 exams. If you can understand how to do the homework you will do great on the tests.

I took Prof. Rodriguez class online and it was excellent. 3 exams worth 30% each, and HW on each chapter worth 10% cumulatively. He posts lectures online 3 times a week, 40 minutes length or so. WATCH THE LECTURES. I started watching them but stopped and only read the textbook. Not everything is in the textbook ! Most Hw repeats on exam. Take him!!

If you're responsible enough, take this class online. You can watch the lectures at any time, and it will help you tons for the exam. Grading: 3 tests for 90%, homework for 10%. He teaches by defining key terms, then doing examples. You need to know algebra for the class. Really easy if you take notes, he made me enjoy economics.

I took this class in the spring, he is awesome. The class is very easy. You only need to attend the class and copy the same notes that he write in the board (nothing else), do the quiz weekly and study those same quizzes for each exam. This class was not supposed to have extra credit but in the middle of the semester he gave the good news.

I really enjoyed taking this class with Professor Rodriguez. As long as you write the same notes that he does and review parts of the book you'll be good to go. Study the homework assignments for the Exams and do well because the 3 exams make up 90% of your grade. Would defiantly take this class again with him. Great Professor.

Smart guy. Willing to answer all and any questions with clear explanation. Knows his math very well. Take him for econometrics.

3 tests, 2 midterms and 1 final. Each consist of 30% of your grade. The remaining 10% is homework he gives after every chapter. The average grade for the first exam was a 72% and for the second it was a 67%. Our final is this Friday and so far, no extra credit. If you're willing to study, take it. If not, don't bother, maybe do it online.

Just look at the online lectures and you will be fine. He does not require you to show up for class and all the homework and tests are online. Definitely take, it is a very easy class to pass and he always reminds you of anything due. One homework due every week and 3 tests.

Pretty sure this is the guy I took economics from online and he was phenomenal. I promise the extra $160 FIU charges for online courses are worth it, especially for this class. He records all his lectures and uploads them so I could watch them whenever was most convenient and could pause and rewind if needed.

I like the way he teaches, he uses alot of graphs as visuals and always makes sure everyone understands before moving on. if you copy everything he writes down and study like crazy you should be good for the tests. he DOES NOT give opportunity for extra credit so make your test grades count. USE THE HOMEWORK AS STUDY GUIDES. the tests are similar.

The only "negative" is all the Stata homework which is really time consuming. And you must learn it or else you will be lost on the end of the year group project which relies heavily on Stata and is 40% of your grade. He is a little intimidating but he's actually a really reasonable guy and he doesn't want you to fail. His test are very do able!

Great professor truly explains and hows all the economics topics. The only set back is that his lectures are truly really boring. His voice tone is monotone and after about 15 minutes of just hearing economics terms, unless you like that, It gets really boring. But he truly knows the subject and if you pay attention the material is not hard.

The class itself wasn't that hard, which is good for those that are not huge fans of economics. Teacher was a little bit boring, but you learn a lot from his lectures. Easy A. This professor was really nonexistent. Doesn't even ask for any blog introduction to each other in the class. Pretty straight forward. Read and study the chapters for HW and then exams.

Class is not mandatory but when I missed one I spent way too much time catching up. Chapters are covered weekly and there are 3 tests which are spread out nicely. Tests are exactly like the homework and he explains everything so easily. If you are in class, notes are easy to follow and prof knows the material very well.

He is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's hilarious and his feedback really helps you to improve. His grading might be called 'tough' but he explains clearly what he's looking for in your assignments and exams.

A pretty awesome professor. Everything you need to learn is in the lectures and he teaches it pretty well. But if you miss a day of class, you might fall behind unless you look at his notes online that are kinda the same. He's laid back and understanding. Economics is hard, especially Microeconomics with Calculus. But, he is amazing explaining it and will repeat it 10 times if you ask him. Super easy going. Exceptional professor who respects effort. This was a tough class and HW took a long time because of STATA, but he's very accessible, responds to emails quickly, and willing to go the extra mile. Everything you need to know for exams is covered in his lectures. Take solid notes and ask questions, he's very good at explaining tough concepts.

Quizzes ranged between 35-50 questions depending on the chapter. Study the questions from the quizzes because most of them appear in the exam. Took the course online during the summer - 2 exams (non-cumulative) & 8 chapter quizzes (one week to complete). Class & material wasn't difficult, but make sure to meet the deadlines. Really great professor and great person. For Econometrics, if you want the easy route out and to not learn anything take it with someone else. However, if you want to actually understand Econometrics, Rodriguez is the way to go. We all just procrastinated but if you don't procrastinate you will be okay. DON'T PROCRASTINATE!

Needs to spend more time teaching the python code. Exams are not easy but extremely fair. Group project is 40% of grade and will take up a lot of your time, specially if your partners drop. Responds to emails and offers generous help during office hours. Goes over material a Little too fast sometimes.

Easy Class, One homework per Week! After 3-4 homework there's a test. 4-5 test for the semester super spaced out. Just make sure you Read the book and actually pay attention to what it says. Everything either comes from the book or is very similar. There is a PDF but you get it when you buy the book so ask around if you strapped for money.

Hands down the most straight forward class I've seen. Crystal clear online course. There are three exams (including the final) and there are 10 quizzes (one due every week). That's the whole course. He provides powerpoint for every chapter, super easy to follow and understand. Quizzes and exams are a bit long. Subject is a bit difficult, but doable

One of the easiest classes Ive ever taken. All the homework answers can be found online if you dont understand the material, and I even found some exam questions. I like his sets of notes but if you plan on writing them down expect to read some weird-sounding sentences and lots of repetition. Class itself is exclusively homework and exams.

Literally the most CAKE online class ever. 3 exams on lockdown browser and a homework assignment every week. If you don't pass with an A you must've really not done anything the entire semester because literally everything is online. Didn't use the textbook ONCE. 10/10 would recommend.

One of the best professors and one of the best econ electives, everything covered in this class was relevant or good to know. Having some programming experience will help but you will be fine even with none.

This class will also teach you how to use python and I will recommend that if you are reading this before taking him go through 10-minutes to pandas as it will teach you the basics that you have to know for the first few homework so you can concentrate on studying for the first test. He is a smart professor so go to his office hours!
