i've only been in his class for like 2 weeks but its cool so far. hes pretty funny and the work we've done was easy and interesting.
This guy is so hilarious, hes tough if you are a sensitive person about some subject matters, but his class was like a comic club....hes good.
Hes very funny. If you are easily offended do not take his class. If your not go ahead and take it you'll have a great time. I reccomend taking his class in summer or winter that way you don't get too much repeating in his jokes.
His comment to our class was that the college was afraid to do anything to him because he was a black man from Africa.GO BACK TO JAMAMA. Making students pay to go to a fundraiser you put on in order to earn extra credit for your class is wrong. He should be fired. The School should at least watch after him a little more.
Dr. Ali is one of the best professors I have ever had. I am in training to be a teacher, and currently work as a paraeducator, and I have institued many of his techniqus into my classroom. His knowledge of the subject is unrivaled. He not only makes class interesting, but makes it the highlight of your week.

this teacher was so pointless. All he talked about was racism, and africa.He brags way too much about his stupid notes and how they are the best.I think not.He didn't teach that well at all. Really the only way you can get credit is by telling him what you like about his class and going to his concerts for his band, and attending drum circles.

This was the wors class ever. I want my money back.
I don't ever want to take a class he teaches again. It was my mistake though; you know when a counselor reccomends you take the class at another campus, that should be a red flag. The class is easy if you kiss ass. He will tell you hes there to help you and that you dont need the book for your tests as long as you have his notes; SURPRISE! Everything on the test is from the book. He gives no EX cred except attending his concert and dancing. He's no help at all.
The guy doesn't talk about the subject and has no idea what modern health research has shown. He's great to take if you want to learn completely irrelavent facts about his life or if you want to be given the wrong info about psych disorders and nutrition. He tends to favor males and they seem to do better in his class. Men also seem to like him more than women. I would rather drop out of school than take his class again!

This is the worst teacher I haev ever had. He is nasty and offensive. He thinks he is God's gift to the world and really is it's punishment. His tests are not hard, but so "out there" that it's impossible to study. P.S. How does going to a bar on University Ave fir into a HEALTH class? This teacher need to be fired.
Yes!! Finally this test I understood and it related to what he talked about in class....I like this teacher...he will make you laugh and make u think about things u have never though of before...he gives you choices in his class..and it was my most favorite class this semester!!
This professor actually talks to you as people and doesn't watch to people who get hurt easily by the language he uses.
The class is all about him. You spend the last 1/2 hour of the class telling him what you like about his class. Its an easy class, though. Three non-accumulative tests. Just study your notes, and the book would be helpful.
This man is sick. every word out of his mouth is filth, he talks only about himself, nothing about the material, so when the tests come you know nothing. the notes he allows you to use aren't even on the test. so the only way to pass is to tell him how great he is.
His grading is entirely abitrary, mostly based upon attending his lame concert at BBKings in Hollywood. His lectures are unfailingly vapid and offensive; they are an excercise in self-congratulation and seldom relate to 'health' or 'science.' Even if you have no other option, as I didn't, do NOT take his class.
grading is based upon his three tests given if u go to his concert u get extra cred. If u dont like his class he gives u the option to drop it Its ur own fault if u stay and fail I enjoyed his concert and loved his class. I never laughed so hard before, lectures involve his students and their life stories help us to learn more than whats in a book
He is not easy to students who disagree with him. He lets you use handwritten notes for his tests. I did not personally find him offensive, but other students in my class did. I actually enjoyed his class, but I did not participate in discussions about students' lives. He did seem biased to those students who went to his concerts.

This instructor takes what I would think a dull class and makes it interesting. Lots of class participation and unexpected insight. I think this instructor teaches in a new, unique way that is refreshing.
it was nice to be in a class where students could express ourselves freely and share our thoughts on anything and everything. i good break each week from the normal routine
Dr. Ali is a unique professor who is able to stimulate his entire class into participating in class discussions. His tests are hard and you need to study for them, but he allows open hand-written notes.
His class is probably the best one i have taken so far. you can express your thoughts and share experinces in class. i like how he teach the class because he does it the way students could understand the lecture. i recommend him to all those students who wants to take Health Science 1
Issa has a teaching style all his own. He is very entertaining to listen to and makes coming to class interesting. You never know what kind of story or what funny thing he'll say next. I definately recommend him as a teacher for anyone looking to satisfy their Health credits. Or just if you have a sense of humor.

I don't like health science, and think it's stupid to require it. That said, I'm glad I took Dr. Ali, because he's probably the only teacher who could have made this subject interesting. His teaching style isn't for everyone, but nobody forces you to be there. I came away learning something, and wasn't bored to death, so it was win-win.

If you are prissy and faint of heart do not take this class. If you want to be informed and have frank, honest and informative discussions; take the class. Professor Issa is easy to follow and his demands are minimal; take good notes and participate.
Dr. Ali made me think about my body fat. "Fat is Ugly" Its personal seeing that written up on the projector. After he explained what it really meant, I interpreted that "Fat is Ugly" means that the fat I have is ugly to my internal organs. I am not ugly. I have fat on my heart. He gives you all the notes you need you take the tests with the notes. You DO NOT need to kiss his butt to get a good grade. simply participate, work hard, and prove yourself. and trust me his extra credit performance is worth it. my friends and i had a blast! I loved this class! It was so exciting and different! Dr. Ali saves you the money of buying a textbook by condensing the textbook into notes that he gives you in class. That was a big help for me because textbook prices are always getting me down. In class, you learn so much! Not just about textbook health, but also about people and life!

The thing that was intresting is the fact that the class got the opportunity to speak what they were feeling which was a good thing to hear what others had to say. In this class we had to the opportunity to use our written notes on the test which could help you out.

I really enjoyed Dr. Ali Issa's class. He makes learning fun and his lectures are very interesting. I think this class is one of the most enjoyable classes that I have taken throughout my time in college. I highly recommend this class to other students that want to have fun while they learn.

Dr. Ali is an AWSOME instructor. He allows students to express themselves in order to gain a better understanding of the material. He was voted TEACHER OF THE YEAR by his students. Very little homework required.

Isa is a very fun and interesting teacher. I enjoyed his class very much! Every student in Isa's class has the opportunity to voice their opinion which is very helpful when trying to understand the coursework. If you are looking for a teacher that will make you laugh and sometimes blush than Isa is the teacher for you!
I made such good friends and he still gave me a B...his exams do not apply to the lecture it is like they are two different-completely different entities...make friends with him and he'll give u a B... he is coool, laid back and friendly. Glad I met him.

Issa is unbelievable to say the least. I don't appreciate his off topic lectures and feel as if I walk out of the class and learned absolutely nothing. Yes, his jokes about his past experiences are funny...for about 5 minutes, after that it's total overkill. He literally chews your face off if you walk in 2 minutes late. He's a horrible teacher.
He tries to make things very different in the class, funny and open minded. He hates anyone to miss class or be late. He can flip from laughing and joking to straight serious in an instant, so do not screw around in the class. The first test everyone bombs, but the extra credit will save you if you go.

Dr. Issa is really funny and I have never learned so much in my life without even realizing I was learning, but if you are the kind of person who believes everything you hear and have to be right at all times then your self esteem isnt high enough and you need to be smarter than the media and therefore this class would not be right for you.
Ali is the MAN! I love his classes! He teaches hes 1 and Dirty 30 and that class is THE BEST! You must be in class on time and you must pay attention but if you are striaght with him he will be straight with your GPA, He is the man you are a donkey's A$$ but he is great fun, and very interesting! Can teach students MUCH!

He is a difficult teacher because he does not used a textbook, but uses his notes and PowerPoint. Some of his test questions were not covered in the lectures. Additionally, he strongly suggests to his students to attend an afterhours music concert where he gives extra points. Students should be prepared to ask assistance from other students
Issa is a really funny guy. His extra credit is easy (and fun) and worth a ton of points. The tests are a little tough, but putting in the effort to take notes and study will pay off. He doesn't play favorites and he will be on you to come to class on time, but hey we're adults in college. That's what we should be doing.
In my opinion this teacher is really easy. If you ask him questions he will answer them. I don't know why so many people complain about him. If you don't like him, just drop and take another professor. It can't get easier than this.

Dr Issa is hilarious!! i took his night class and i thought it would be the longest nights ever!! they flew by because we were having soo much fun!! Ya his tests are hard but hey thats what extra credit is for!! his extra credit is 30 points and you go to his concert and party! People complain, i dont know why but take it or leave it! so he says!

I took this class 3 years ago and it still haunts me. He says he doesn't require a textbook, doesn't reference it much in lectures, but tests almost entirely from obscure parts of the book. HINT: If he gives you open note tests, write down key points from the book on your notes. I graduated with a 4.0 and got a C on the 1st test, so be warned.
Dr. Issa is one of the best professors I've ever met. He handles a potientally boring subject with science, street wisdom, humor and creates an open environment for students to ask difficult questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Issa.
This guy is a mixed bag. He's an excellent teacher, knows his subject matter, however; he is very abusive to students, he is unfair on tests often asking questions that wasn't covered in the lecture. He says you don't need the book...you do. He's funny, knowledgeable, but vulgar. You pass if you suck up to him. Be warned.

Plan to study the book on your own, lectures from sophmoric power point. I'm a 3.5 student, got a C. I refused to waste my Sat. at the EC concert and dance for a grade!

Dr.Ali is one of the best professors ever! His teaching style is unlike any other professor I have ever had! He reaches out to students and helps them to succeed! He lets you voice your opinion and takes it into consideration! He doesn't teach BS, instead he teaches stuff that benefits your everyday life! He makes class time short and sweet!!
Dr.Ali is an extremely unique professor! He understands that his syle of teaching is unique and because of that reason the first week of class he lets his students know that if they do not like his sytle then you are more then welcomed to drop his class. So if you don't like him then just leave! He does not force you to stay enrolled in his class!
when i took this class i thought it would be pretty cool, but i was wrong. "Dr." Ali was a waist of time and a his comments where ****ed and un-nessacary to the topic most of the time. Dr. Ali was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He changed all the material that was required in to the way he wanted and not how the book had it. This made understanding things a lot easier and fun. I enjoyed his class very much and if Dr. Ali Issa would teach anything else I would take that class in a heartbeat because I loved his style.
Dr Ali's class was an easy A. Althouh he does require a whole lot of ass kissing. His test are unique because he doesn't teach out of the book but he let's you have open notes. So you can easily get a B but he has a fair amount of questions on the test that are not in his notes so it makes it hard to get an A. Don't have to buy a text book though.

He makes you go see his band play at the end of the semester and he has a way to MAKE SURE you were there. It's "extra credit". Funny at times, offensive, rude and annoying at others.

Dr. ALi is a cool teacher. He helps the students by creating notes that we can understand. He is very helpful. He gives extra credit and if u want to pass the class just get involved in the discussions and on his website. He is not so bad as people think. im currently taking his class, the funny thing is before i even came here after my first test i realized he doesn know how to test or grade based on what youve learned from the class.. he needs help on how to teach that way. hes great with visual, talking and keeping you awake.. but needs to do something about grades. its unfair.

i may not agree with his views and im not a fan of his language but he is a great professor, he is real, and teaches you what u need to know, if you dont like his class, he tells u to drop, and everything is on the syllabus, i got a B and i know if would of put more effort i would of got an A, just study the notes and u will be fine i learned lots

He gives you very funny lec along with well-organized powerpoints. Take notes and study vocab on his web. Then, u can get a good grade! You dont have to read a textbook. Its so much fun all the people with there hilarious stories and Dr.Ali with his stories from jamama town! No book neded. Almost everyting you need is via Powerpoint. Just copy the screen(Or he could let you make copies of the PPT files). He wont I asked. He is a person who is much more interested in gaining popularity than teaching. If you have a problem with profanity or racially insensitive remarks, don't take this class. He says not to buy the book because he allows open notes. That is okay but there are a substantial number of questions on the tests that aren't on the notes. He is self absorbed

He spends more class time talking about himself and his own life rather than the subject material. He shouted at me in front of the whole class and accused me of talking when I had not said a single thing. He is very offensive and also lied about giving students extra credit and lied about basing the exams entirely off of his lectures.
Seems easy until posed grades. No book. his online extra credit is irrelevant to the class. He has favorite students (usually sitting in front). His 3 test contain more than his power points teach. he gives you the vocab to study and you have to study it to pass. Worst Professor ever. I hated this class. 3 and a half hours a week about Africa. He is vulgar, insinsitive, and tries to impress people at the expense of others. He does little to prepare students for his exams. Take another class if at all possible.
I dropped his class after the first meeting. He was funny for the first hour. After that he was just obnoxious and vulgar.
If your serious about learning about Health, this class is not for you. Dr. Ali makes it a point to let you know he has the highest degree than any other RCC professor. He does tell stories about his life, has 3 tests, and one extra credit event, which is a "cardio workout" aka: his band. Can flip out on a student very easily. Not for the faint.
he did a sub-par job at explaining things; there was no textbook and he didn't go over all the info he tested on. i wouldn't recommend him. you get extra credit for adding him on myspace and/or buying his cd; college is not a popularity contest for the professors, and the students do not want to be their friend.

Dr. Ali is a teacher who cares about his students and all students of RCC. He is cleaver, funny, very understanding with material, and patient. Good Teacher to have
Easy class. I never read the book. I copied the notes off the power point. Never studied. Did the extra credit which was actually fun..i.e. the concert. he does talk about himself a lot. But it is interesting and motivating. He's funny and I love when he puts people on blast. Some people need to learn to keep their mouths closed and ears open.

Dont't be fooled by this class. You need a texbook if you want a good grade. I recieved a B, but had to go to library a dozen times to look up terms. His test are BS. Be very careful because he will give you false hopes of an easy class.
As a person, ali is fun, energetic, and entertaining. However, as a teacher I don't think I learned much from him as far as health science goes. If you want to have fun and learn other things take his class. Otherwise, if its just about health, do not. BUY THE BOOK! or go to the library! also ATTEND and NEVER b late. 1st test is hard, so study!

Dr. Issa is of the "alternative" school of teaching. His language is colorful, often vulgar. I don't know what the purpose of the homework was (50 posts weekly to his personal website, nothing at all to do with the subject) aside from further promoting himself. No textbook, but tons of notes. Not very educational, I learned very little.

As a person Dr. Ali is fine. Fun, charismatic and interesting. Isn't a great teacher though. Doesn't use the book and says you can pass the class with his notes, but at least 10% of the test doesn't correspond with notes. Gives extra credit if you go and watch his band. Talks more about himself then HES. If your serious take someone else.

This is the worst class I have ever taken, for all of the hundreds of same reasons listed below. Very disorganized, offensive, and tests have nothing to do with lectures, because the tests are not about him. So, so horrible
Dr. Ali himself is a pretty cool guy. He makes the class a lot of fun to be in, but he is strongly into himself. His lectures tend to lead back to him and how awesome he is. If you post on his forums, you can use your notes on the tests, but they dont help at all. He doesnt require a book. If you are serious about learning, dont take him.

He talks about himself a lot, but it shouldn't bother you like some of the others have stated, if it does, you might have some anger problems yourself. He is a great teacher if you want "Health Science for dummies"(which is ironic since his tests are tough). simplifying everything to his "remix".

There are no words for what an idiot this professor is. He has bullet points on a power point for the lecture, but instead of discussing those points, he just talks about himself. And then he tests you straight out of the book. He'll let you use the notes on tests if you post on his forums, but his notes are completely useless.
You'll love Dr. Issa on your first day because I have to admit he is a very humorous person. But other than that he doesn't really teach. He puts up a powerpoint. You copy it down we don't use a textbook and he doesn't teach. He only talks about himself. I did not enjoy this class at all. Also he can be offensive at times. If you do take him DO NOT be late, use your cellphone, or disrespect him because he is not afraid to make an example of you in front of the class and then kick you out.

Of all the professors I've taken classes with at RCC, Dr. Issa is the exception--he is horrible. Who gave this man a doctorate? I have just returned from his first exam--worst I have taken. I feel as if I have been set up for failure. We spend the whole class period taking incomprehensible notes that don't follow any discernable outline.
I was not done talking about this professor. He urges everyone to study his notes for his exams--"play the game" he says. Don't fall for it! Get a book and study it! This guy should be a musician--at least students would'nt have to deal with him--instead of a college professor. Unbelievable! What are they thinking in the school's administration?
He has you take notes and use them on the test then he gives you extra credit for going to one of his show but it is free labor you have to work for it. He jabbers about dumb stuff throughout the class then expects you to take good notes. after all of the notes and the labor I still got a C. he needs to go back to Africa
This class is nothing but a talking fest about what the prof. thinks is cool, not about the course. If you can get around not having him, please do it. He plays Bob Marley during class and pushes you to buy his own CD. He seems to be there for the paycheck, not the students.
By far the worst course and the worst professor I have had at this institution. He does not follow the syllabus, he bullies the class,and there is no accountability for the exam scores--he does not let you see the graded scantrons. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR'S CLASS. You have been warned.
Forget what others have said. They just don't see a good professor when it's right in front of them. Yes, he does talk a lot, but it makes class more entertaining. You laugh everyday and you learn a lot. Like Dr. Issa says, if there is an opportunity, just take it. In the end you'll be glad you did it. Just play the "game".
Ali Issa is a very intelligence, unique and helpful professor. He makes learning fun, and interesting. he is very inspirational and motivates his students into pursuing something out of their lives... makes it fairly easy with his lectures. "it's not about what you drive, but what drives you" his class changed me, for the better.

Ali is an amazing person with an amazing story. If you want to learn more than just "Health Science for Dummies" This is a great class. Ali talks about and encourages issues we all face, and even things that we dont typically think about. This is more than just a Health Science Class, its an oppurtunity for you to grow if you allow yourself.

Professor Ali is a groundbreaking pioneer educator using a style that is more engaging and reality based. He offers one the opportunity to either learn the conventional way or his contemporary way. He takes advantage of the brains ability to learn and grow by having to adapt to a new learning method. Anecdotes and comedy used to make learning fast.
Different style of teaching. Very funny class. Encourages students to ask questions. He is sarcastic, demands respect. Does not tolerate tardiness. Class is based on power point, book is not needed for class. Just take notes, study daily,do your best on not being absent, dont be tardy, and you will enjoy the class. Don't need the book! East class just take notes and do the online posts on the forum and you can use your notes on the test. Also the 30 points extra credit concert you will need to go, I think he does it so you have to for an A in the class. But it is a good change on pace compared to your normal professor, this class is completely different
This was my second time taking his class so I knew what to expect. I would recommend buying the text book, even if it's an older edition. The definitions you need are straight from the book, don't rely on Ali's notes alone.
Dr. Issa is a smart, easy-going man with a true African spirit and reggae soul; who shares his music, knowledge, wisdom, and humor in class through a very unorthodox teaching style. He only bases grades on Tests, so prepare for them well. You can get easy extra credit by going to his concerts, or donating money/books etc. to his hometown charity
Be ready for lots of notes. You can use em on the test if you post on his forum, it may sound like alot of work but its really only 10-15 mins a day you have to put into it. But Dont miss class or be late, because he may very well drop you. He is straight forward about that.
Get ready to feed his ego. You will spend about half of the class time hearing about how revolutionary he is in his teaching style and how his Ali Remix is the best thing in the world. We did not learn anything about health, all we learned is about Ali Issa. His history and his selfish self promotion of his website, band, and book. As an actual student who loves to learn, he is a joke and complete waste of time and money. He got mad over childish things. I do not want to hear 30 minutes of yelling, just teach and get over it.
I got a B in this class, but, it was from my own hard work, and "LOTS" of note taking. He is not easy, but does make the class fun to attend. Do take the advice, and buy the book, get a used edition from Amazon. Put your notes in order, according to the chapter. And, pay attention. Finely, Do all the extra credit credit, your going to need it.

I think he needs to get off his cloud and actually focus on his students rather than himself. He also loves putting you on the spot, and if you plan to take this class some early or else you would be asked to leave. He does go off topic, and he forgets what homework is due. This class is not very serious when it comes to actual education.
Dr. Ali says don't need the book and has a site with the book material. But buy the book, there are test question from the book, take all notes, & study for the test. He doesn't go over test. Be prepared for his colorful language. If you want a HES class by the book do not take his class. He's dislikes people late & cell phones used in class.

He hardly knows what he's talking about. He is primarily concerned with being considered funny. Also, he wants you to listen to his music. However, his class is easy. He lets you use notes on the test.
He teaches differently from what the book outlines. Instead of having you memorize every scientific word, he has you understand the concept in a relate-able way that makes memorizing the proper terms easier. The concept is what matters, if you do not comprehend then you won't remember it after the class.
If youre looking for a fun class and you don't NEED an A then take Issa. If youre looking for that A take a different teacher but if you take him youll need the book. Disregard what he says about not needing it - questions will appear on exams that arent from the notes or his review sheets. I didnt buy the book & will still likely get a B

The professor is good at inspiring people. He's a good story teller, not all of his stories relate the subject. Most go on for quite some time before the connection to the lecture is made. Take the class if you want to have fun. His hype is exagerated though, there are plenty of other professor that teach the way he does, he just brags about it

As long as you take notes off the ppts and do the 'posts' in his forums, so you can use the notes on his tests, you will pass the class. I am currently in his class and passing but I do NOT like his teaching style. All of the posts I read about him (just now) have accurately described his style. You will either like him or you wont. Nothing halfway
Academic-wise this class is extremely easy. If you can put up with his b.s. it's very easy. He will drop you if you miss even 1 class which I'm pretty sure is against the school's policy. He has trouble grasping basic theories. Hates on other teachers for being too uptight yet he is the least laid back teacher I have ever had.

All the people on here complaining abot him do not know what they are talking about. He saves you money by not requiring any textbook. He lets you use the notes on tests and he is strict on tardies to he minute but you can always come to another class and fix it.
All the test are based on the book, but his lectures are his version of the book. He could be considered offensive during lectures. He is very egocentric.

Very fun and easy class.. go to class take notes post on the forums just that easy to get an A. About an hour and a half a week for this class got me an A. And on top of the easiness teacher is HILARIOUS with all of his stories. So a good class to take but if your looking to learn ALOT then not the class for you. You learn the bare MINIMUM.

There is nothing to say about this professor. He is very helpful to most of our class. Very strict but helpful. If you don't want to listen, it is better that you don't attend the class, he will on your case.
I took this class last summer, and it was really easy. The class started at 7:30a.m., but the teacher wake us up with his comments. He changed my point of view about what I eat. The way he teaches is an understandable. You have to post posts on his webpage to have an open notes quiz.You have to participate, pay attention and be on time.
He just talks too much nonsense for my taste. If you take your education seriously then I advise you take this class online/with another instructor.
He does extra credit, allows notes on test, no textbook. Easy but attendance is MANDATORY, no cell, and MOST DEFINITELY NO TARDY. His lectures are kind of different from the test. Overall, this class is very common sense.
His class is very easy, but it feels like you haven't learned. Ali uses these things called "Remix" for the Health Science vocabulary, which, to me, was more troublesome than helpful. Even though he recommends you not to buy the textbook, I highly recommend it. He uses test question from it and you'll be screwed in exam if you don't, just as I had.
I took Dr. Ali's Health class at night once a week. His class is the class that you want to take if you just want an easy class. However, you do not learn much about health. Class consists of notes and story time. The stories do not always relate to the lecture. I got an A without buying the book. Do the extra credit. It is easy.
Had him prior to Biology, he him for Health Science. Fair straight forward class. Two lecture tests, two lab tests. The lecture tests are all based on the text book. A lot of extra credit opportunities. Don't challenge him or he will make your life extra hard.
I enjoyed the class. His teaching style is different but I liked it because we worked in groups. I got a C but did learn something. Good Professor in my books.
Doesn't require a book. Could easily get a B with the print-outs, notes, and extra credit. If you need the information for your future career, don't take it or study the book on your own. He likes to only use the chapters most relevant to life as we know it and "remix" the terms so they're simple. It's not bad unless you NEED to know the science.
Easy class. One thing I noticed is that he takes information from the books or other things that many people hold to be true and basically tells everyone it's a conspiracy to get you to spend more money or something. He should just teach from the book. He just assumes that when he doesn't believe something, it's not true.

If you just wana get through this class and get it over with, take him! Its pretty hard to fail. attendance is a must! he will pick on you. I took Dr.Ali class and I can tell you he is a funny teacher, makes class really simple and interesting, he breaks down really hard topics into simple terms, love class discussion, 3 test, able to use your notes for test, gives 30 points extra credit, you don not need to buy book, test are based on lectures, best teacher/role model
My name is Regina I took Dr.Ali Health Science class and I can tell you he is a great professor always happy to teach,he was a inspiration/role model.Power points are very organized and well explain, he helps you giving you the vocab for each chapter, he is always on time which means you cant be late to class, always be on time and prepared.
He's nice but has a tendency to be arrogant, immature, & offensive. He's long-winded; says the same thing over & over again, lectures can drag on. Textbook isn't required but definitely order at least an older, cheaper edition for extra vocabulary. 3 50Q exams, 800 online posts to use your notes on the exams, 30 EC points if you attend his 5K walk.

Dr Ali Issa constantly says that his class is easy, and that the tests are easy. This is true so as long as you actually study. All you have to do is study and try to memorize as many terms as you can without looking at your notes. That's it. The text book helps somewhat. Take the class seriously. He's funny, but this is still a college class.
Dr. Ali Issa is honestly one of the best professors i have ever had. he is not your avg. guy. i learned so much from him even outside the topic of Health Science. He is an amazing teacher and really makes you enjoy his class and WANT to be there. taking his class for summer was best decision i made! just don't be late or txt and hes cool
Instead of letting you study your notes and read the chapters which would be WAY more useful He has you re-write them in PowerPoint form which takes FOREVER and doesn't help you learn ANYTHING just a HUGE and pointless waste of time So your more worried about re-writing the info. as opposed to studying it and he contradicts himself A LOT
If you miss class he will drop you without a care. All he does is talk about his home land and that is all you will remember while taking his extremely hard test that has nothing to do with his powerpoints.
Do not take this professor! Save yourself! You will never get to see your test and if you ask you will regret it, he will Not pass you! No matter what extra credit or effort you make you will end up with a C, and thats if you dont get on his badside SERIOUSLY! Never learned a thing about Biology, READ THE BOOK & you will make it.

Take good notes and do the extra credit; he'll let you use notes on the test whether you're taking biology or health science. He's funny but don't piss him off.
Dr. Ali Issa is honestly my favorite professor at RCC. The class material is not all that great, but he makes it much more interesting. He keeps the classes attention, and is definatly not monotone. The class is easy as long as you learn the vocab he gives you. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. DON'T USE YOUR PHONE. DON"T SHOW UP LATE.
I took his Health Science class this winter and passed with an A and had a good time. He tells you how to pass his class. All you have to do is show up EVERYDAY. Participate everyday in EVERY class discussion. Do ALL the extra credit. DO NOT use your cell phone or talk to other students (have respect). Test are from the notes. Ali Issa is the man!
I took Ali Issa for Biology. Honestly he's the best teacher I have had. All you have to do is read the book and take notes. He lets you use notes on the test!! He's extremly hilarious and don't miss class because he'll drop you lol

worst class i ve ever taken. i learned more about his life than about health. He is probably one of the most nonsensical, ridiculous people i have ever met. He has outlandish opinions and teaches them as fact. not to mention how highly inappropriate and offensive he is trying to get a laugh out of the class. if you want to learn dont take this one
I took Ali Issa for biology. I have always hated science and dredded taking biology. With Ali Issa as my biology professor, I enjoy science. I have learned so much and had so much fun learning! He is one of the only professors that can relate to his students and make learning fun. I would def recommend taking his class if you are eager to learn.
AMAZING!!! If all teachers were like Dr. Ali there would be less of a drop out rate. This is an amazing man that is feeding great things into our lives!!!! He is a teacher that is truly there for the students. He wants us to learn and his method of teaching makes you want to learn. Dr. Ali will be with me for life!!!!!
Professor Issa is a fun person and he can teach you many great life lessons. I will say that the tests are a bit tough to study for as the class material does not jive with the tests. Overall, he is not a terrible teacher; however, if you are sensitive or extremely serious about learning text material you may get a bit frustrated. Do the Ex Credit!
His class is simple. Do the extra credit, show up everyday, and ON TIME, and you'll be fine. Be respectful, no talking and he's serious about cellphones. The only thing I did not like about him are his ideas and input on the world. Like seriously? You do not believe in statistics or mental illnesses? Right. Easy, but he's ridiculous.
I took Ali for both Bio and HS. He is a great professor and is very funny. He wants his students to pass. Go to class everyday and respect him and he'll respect you. He's easy to talk to, and is there for his students if they need help. Make sure to ALWAYS read the bookstudy your notes. Notes are allowed on test as long as you do extra credit!!
I learned more about personal life rather than health, I understood the material in the lectures real good, yet didn't find it at all in the tests. He has a funny personality, but not good at teaching the material. I do not recommend him.

Prof. Issa is an interesting person. At first, I was regretting taking his class, but ultimately I developed a deep respect for him. His teaching style is simple and to the point. He unconventional but that is what makes him great at what he does. He gives life lessons a lot, but you find yourself applying it to your daily life. Enjoyed the class!
I only did well in this class because I remembered stuff from my high school biology and anatomy classes. Book necessary! Lectures and tests do not match up. Lectures fun but mostly because he has a lot of cool stories that do not relate to the subject. extra credit includes joining his personal website and going to his concerts. Avoid if possible

MUST READ the chapters if you want to pass the test. Follows the syllabus & will DROP you if you're LATE. Took him over the summer & if we did the EXTRA CREDIT we could USE notes on all 3 exams. Talks about himself in 3rd person and spends the class having you copy vocab words. Passed with an A because i read the chapters and did the extra credit.
He was very funny and fun, he helped us learn during discussions and his lectures are NEVER boring! Take the extra credit ,and if you do you can use any notes during the tests!
The extra credit was a lot to ask for; I decided not to do it. Man, was that a mistake! Overall, easy course; must develop good study habits. First day he told us the course textbook was optional, but after the first test he admitted there are questions on the test he will NOT cover. Easygoing professor; be on time and refrain from cell phone use.
Dr. Issa has a wealth of knowledge, stories and humor to share. If you are easily offended, do not take this class. Be on time, and do not use your cell phone, he will drop you. TAKE ADVANTAGE of the extra credit, you will need it. The tests are hard, and some questions were never covered in class. Buy the book and review chapters and lecture notes
Dr. Issa was an awesome professor. I took for Health Science Fall 2015, and would absolutely take it withat him. There were only three tests with no homework. He gives you notes for everything he tests on. Only a few random facts on test not covered in class. I didn't open my book and still got an A.
Dr. Issa is not only a very highly intelligent professor, but he truly is an inspirational human being. He's a professor that is straight to the point, and clear cut. Dr. Issa gives you the tools you need to learn and understand the curriculum by using humor, life experiences, and direct examples with no sugar coating it. If you don't like direct, honest, and open lectures then this is not the class for you. He makes this class fun, and he gives you plenty of opportunities to do well. It is up to you to listen.
Dr. Issa is very knowledgeable professor and professional. I took his class after serving 13 years active duty in the U.S Army. Make sure you do the extra credit and don't be late for class. I really enjoyed this class and would tell my fellow Veterans the same. U.S ARMY(SCOUT)19D
He gives you 2 lectures tests and and 1 lab test, and a Final in both areas. You do get extra credit. However, his notes are not what are on the test, the book doesn't give you very much information. I had to go on you tub videos to figure thing out on my own along with quizlet and even then I still barely made with with a C and I'm an A student!
Easy Trick to Get an A: DO THE EXTRA CREDIT: It's worth 30 points and permits you to use your notes on each test. Show up to the lectures or you will be dropped. Lectures are based on his beliefs rather than material from the book... however tests are based on the book 11 out 10 times... SO STUDY THE BOOK and produce your own notes from it.

I took Ali Issa summer of 2010. I read the book, wrote really good notes and did all the extra credit there was and you should too. Points matter in his class and get on his good side and he will love you. I got an "B" in the class. WHat everyone says about him is true, but if you do whats expected of you and TAKE GOOD NOTES you'll pass the class
I had him a few years back, he talked about himself a lot and very little about health. This Professor gets an F-. If you take him after reading this then you can't say you weren't warned.
