He's a cool guy. But, doesn't explain things completly hops from topic to topic which i found confusing.
the best prof in GCC!!!
he is not the best prof in GCC,but he cares about his students, he doesn't explain very good, but if u ask him, he will work with u, Thank you Ali, you r the best
I really enjoyed attending his class...tests are easy, he goes over the questions prior to the test, doesnt explain very good so you need to spend some time on your own...really recommend him=]
mr. ali is a easy A, but you wont learn much. read the book and go over the lecture and you should be fine
He does not explain things well. Teaches straight from the text so if the book makes sense so will he. The only problem with the book is when you try review problems on your own the answers in the key are sometimes wrong. His tests are easy. His command of the english language is the command of a seargent not a four star general.
If you are majoring in biology/chemistry don't take him, because you are not going to learn anything in his class; otherwise take him, Mr. Jabalameli is a very nice person, but not a good teacher.
Oh boy! That was one strange class. If you want the easy A, take his class, if you need to go further in Chem, trust me, don't take him. Nice guy, good chemist, but not meant as a teacher.
Everyone should take Ali, he is the best. First of all the way he explains is easy to understand. Second his tests are really easy, he goes over everything and then he gives you a test. Trust me there is no homework in this class. Plus he is a really good person. Promise you it is an easy A. What else you guys want??? Right there is nothing else. L
Mr.Ali is a great guy. The class was easy, and he has a great personality. If he wasnt a good teacher why his class is always full? And he is very easy. So just buzz off.
Ali is a guy. I liked him a lot, he is easy going, helpful, and a good person 2. He doesnt put your down like your stupid. I recomend him highly.
Good Guy He will answer any question you ask him. Its chem you need to put the hours to get a good grade.
easy, kickback class...hes a cool guy
Personally, I was disappointed with this class. The instructor doesn't have very good knowledge of chemistry and the way of teaching it. The tests are unreasonable. He gave the final test: multiple choice, 21 questions from previous tests and 1 extremely hard question which was not properly discussed in the class which was 30% of the grade.
simply the best. thank u mr ali
HE S AN EASY GOING GUY,THE CLASS S REALLY EASY, DONT GO TO HIS LECTURES, JUST READ THE BOOK AND U LL GET AN A
Mr. Ali is the best. His tests are easy. He is a chill guy. He was one of the best teachers that I ever had. I enjoyed going to his class.
Ali is chill. The class constantly talked over him. He needs to be more asserive. You have to read the book but what do ya expect? It's Chem. At times he seems burned out and he could improve his explanations better. The tests are from a test bank so they are different than the examples we do in class. If you have to take more Chem DON'T take him!
mr. ali is so funny my friend and i both loved taking his class.... he is a down to earth guy and will remember you and say hello if he ever runs into you after your class is over :)) what a cutie. However, his lectures are a bit confusing and he makes like 30 versions of each test, so cheating is hard. Overall very cool guy though..would recommend
In this class, if you don't get an A or B its your own fault! Anyone who says otherwise is just a lazy sack of potatoes. If you keep your book open while he lectures, you'll see that everything he writes down is in the book. So, if you get confused you don't have to ask stupid questions and keep the class behind.
Take him! i really recommend him because he usually gives students an easy A or B but it depends on how hard you work and study. he's also funny and hot..xP
BEST TEACHER EVER. He is very funny, his class is very interesting. Its so easy to get an A in his class. MR. ALI YOU ARE THE BEST BTW I AM IRANIAN too :D
If you actually pay attention to his lectures every single class session, you WILL pass the course. His notes are really clear and yeah he has a bit of an accent, but he explains really well. He's so funny! I absolutely LOVED his class. He is also very willing to help you outside of class till you understand. Wish he'd teach chem 101 :(
HE IS VERY VERY CLEAR AND NOT HARD.GIVES EXTRA POINTS WHICH REALLY RAISE YOUR GRADE.SOMETIMES CURVE THE GRADE. I TOOK CHEM 110 WITH HIM AND IT PREPARED ME A LOT FOR 101. HOWEVER MY 101 TEACHER REALLY SUCKS!!I MISS MR.ALI SO MUCH=[ WISH HE TAUGHT 101.
The best teacher ever, I actually learned in his class, he explains the lesson really good, very friendly , helpful. He takes his time to clarify the lesson . Take him Trust MEEEEEEE , you will learn in this class and get a good grade:)
Tip: If youre a bio major; dont take him! If youve taken Chemistry in your life and still remember it and want an easy A, then take him! Hes very lazy and refuses to clearly answer your questions, but attendence is unnecessary and he doesnt fail ANYONE. Probably the lowest grade hell give is a C.
This is just funny, sounds like someone who never took this class. He covers more than the book and he failed many of us last time but we come back because he is a good teacher and a cool guy. So just take his class before rating him.
Hilarious! He's the coolest teacher ever. He knows what he's teaching...very clear. Don't listen to the previous comments. Obviously you have to work your butt off in Chemistry. ITS CHEMISTRY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. I suggest you take him! funny/great teacher.
I wouldn't say he's an "easy" teacher. His tests are alll multiple choice..4 tests and a final. they were mostly easy tests...but the thing about him is that he's pretty lazy...and doesn't wanna explain the HARD questions in the book. Overall really nice guy...but if you're not a good test taker...take someone else.
I just had him for this winter. He is an excellent educator. He lectured and explained everything in 17 chapters of our book. He is one of the few professors who seemed to genuinely enjoy teaching. He answers any question we asked (even if it is dumb!). He knew his stuff and he also knew how to get them cross. If you want a good foundation take him
He is amazing. He is very patient with all his students. He is sincere and has a genuine desire to make sure that everyone learns the subject matter. He is the best teacher I have ever had!
He is a nice guy, but not a good professor. He makes the easy things hard for you and expect you to get it. Take him if you really like chem, but overall NOT RECOMMENDING HIM.
hes not very well at explaining has your read the book much more.
The previous comment is clearly not from a student. If you ever been in Dr. Ali's class, you would now he takes time to explain everything, helps you and makes the material easier. It is probably a looser professor who can't get enough students in his class that is posting this garbage on Dr. Ali. Dr. Ali, we love you, and you are a good teacher!
If you are looking for a teacher who will spoon feed you the material, this is not your guy. He expects you to have read the chapter before you come to lecture, and will only explain things if you ask. I only got an A on one test, and that's because I read each chapter over three times and did hundreds of review problems. You need to really work.
you must only and only rely on your textbook in order to pass this course with A ...you should read the whole chapters before coming to the class or else you will feel lost in the class...not helpful at all
The best chemistry teacher I ever had. I got an A :)
I just had him for the Spring and I got an A. He is an excellent teacher who enjoys teaching so he it is NOT boring. He knows his chemistry. If you need a good background take him but you need study in order to get a good grade.
He gives a lot of practice problems which helps a lot but I got a B in this class because his tests are very tough. Btw, I studied very hard! Overall he is a very nice person and knows his stuff but this is NOT an easy class.
Honestly one of the best professors i have had at gcc. He knows the subject you just have to read the book before lecture so youre not completely lost in the class. His tests are very fair and he uses a lot of the problems he assigned for homework EXACTLY the same problem how much easier can the professor make it?! Take him you wont regret it!
He is an amazing person. Read the text book before class, take notes so you can refer to while you study. Do all the problems in the back of the book. He is sooooo helpful though. He is there when you need him. He wants you to do well, so ask questions!
Only plus side really is that his tests are easy. Read the chapters in the book and skim over his PP slides, the slides alone aren't always enough. Make sure you do good on all the exams because the final is pretty hard. He does help if you ask questions but doesn't really teach much.
Let me break it down for you who are thinking about taking Ali. You will not learn anything from going to class. His tests are fairly easy, but you learn on your own. The point of being a teacher is to teach the subject but his excuse is that he is just a "guide". Lazy professor, fairly easy tests.
Dr. Ali was actually one of very few teachers who took time to explain the problems in detail when we had difficulty to undrstand. He is very helpful, friendly, and his exams are a good mix of hard and ok problems so he never had to curve. He is a good teacher and is great with technology.
Firs, you don't learn anything, you are on your own completely. The tests are not easy as other students say. His lectures are pretty abstract.
He's not bad. He actually takes time to go over problems, and he explains good if you ask him questions and he actually likes it if students ask questions. I recommend students taking him!!!
worst chemistry experience
Worst professor ever!
Jabalameli has been teaching 102 for a while. He's on autopilot. He's one of those "power point flippers" and relies heavily on power points. Chem 102 is a subject dependent on math. It's around 85% math and 15% concepts. There's almost a month left of the semester and he has physically solved a complete math problem on the chalkboard only twice.
Dr Jabalameli has been one of my favorite professors yet. He tells you exactly what he expects you to know, gives you plenty of practice, is extremely lenient when it comes to curves, and best of all is always willing to help. Go to him during office hours or during lab for some one on one explanation. He's always willing to do anything to help.
Professor Jabalameli is one of the best chem professors at GCC. He is willing to help and does all possible for his students to pass the course. This is a tough course with a lot of new info so put a lot of time, read the text, do his slide problems and hw problems and you'll get an A in class. Take his class and you won't regret it.
professor ali was by far the best chem professor i have ever had. Chemistry is a touch subject as it is so its not his fault if you can't keep up with the material. He will go out of his way to make you understand concepts and material and he gives you an idea of what he's going to test you on. Overall i recommend him, very helpful !! i got a B
Professor Jabalameni is an alright professor . I love his personaluity so much. He doesnt teach, just slides power point( doesnt explain) and tests were tricky, but he is a fair grader and gives extra points on the tests. Overall, he is okay. I did not regret taking his class
He is a great professor way better than Gellert any day. Explains clearly on things you may not understand and I like how he ask you how are you doing in class randomly which eliminates the awkwardness on talking about your performance in classes.
He has no speaking skills and can't get his message across. He gets frustrated when students ask questions. No one would understand his lectures and confused everyone in class. He admits that he explains terribly which doesn't make sense if your occupation is a professor. If you do take him, be sure to take thorough notes from the book and YouTube.
Avoid Taking this professor he doesn't teach at all. His tests are very hard and his final was the hardest final I've ever taken so far. Also he doesn't clarify the lab experiments at all if you have him for lab. Good Luck
Do not believe any of these negative comments. Professor Jabalameli is absolutely amazing, caring and helps all of his students all along the way. If u are struggling to to his office hours and I guarantee u he will help and explain in any way he can. His class requires work so ppl complain. Took chem 101 in the summer got an A. Best professor ever
Be prepared to do a lot of studying, his tests are extremely tough; however, they are straight forward, you either get what's going on or you don't. He tries his best to make sure his students understand what's going on, but if you don't speak up when you're confused, you'll be left behind.
Dr. Jabalameli is one of the nicest professors you'll ever meet. He assigns long, but easy homework. His tests were long, but gives extra time when needed. Tests are given when he feels that his students are ready for them, so the test schedule is not set on the syllabus. Extra credits always help. Lab was so much fun!
He is hands down one of the most caring and understanding teachers At GCC. After a test he sits with students and will add points. HIS english is not the best but he is clear and easy to understand. His test are tough but fair. If u pay attention in lecture his questions are from there. Recommend to not use laptop since its a distraction. AMAZING
Absolutely amazing. He cares a lot about his students, he's very clear & will explain things over & over multiple times until everybody understands. He's super understanding & reasonable & so funny! You can't expect an easy A in a chem class but he makes it as easy & as clear as possible. Just pay attention in lecture. I didn't open the book once.
Professor Jabalameli is a very easy going and sweet person but not the greatest professor. He will help you individually if you seem him during his office hours and is open to discussion about grades but be prepared to do a lot of learning and studying on your own because he flies through the chapters. Over all if he's ok.
Hes one of the easiest teachers i've had in college. He literally tells you everything thats going to be on the test, if you still fail after that then you have a problem. If you get less than a B in this class i dont know what to say
He's not exactly clear during lectures, doesn't seem to answer questions during lectures even though I'm sure he cares. He's sarcastic and rude if you're the type of person to ask him a lot of questions. He basically tells you what will be on the test, but what's the point if you don't understand ANYTHING ANYWAYS.
Get ready to learn a lot by your own!
My only complaint is his tests. He has solving problems where one question can be from 10-20% of the grade. It's pretty ridiculous to get a 90% on the multiple choice, get the written problem wrong, and have your grade drop two letters. He really has to change that because even if you know how to solve it, a small mistake can happen
I don't even know where to start with this professor. He is very unprofessional in the lab and often leaves us on our own. There were so many accidents in our chem lab and he was never around. He is also very unclear on everything and would often contradict himself when explaining something then get mad at us for asking him to clarify
Hated him at first, grew to love him. Sometimes he'll explain concepts perfectly, other time he'll tell you to just look in the book. He's very generous with his grading system. Honestly, if you put in any effort at all, you'll be perfectly fine. Don't be too discouraged by his condescending tone, he's actually really great! He does a lot for us.
Prof. Ali is the best. He knows how to explain . He is so caring. He is NOT a tough grader I really recommend him
He is the best chem prof in GCC. Love his class , lecture , and lab
Prof. Ali is an amazing prof . He makes you love chem. Before taking a class with him. I hate chem . So many prof come to his class and watch him how he gives lecture . You are always welcome to ask any question .
I really enjoy being in his class . The best ever
His slide is so understandable. He gives so many examples ang try to explain it so clear
I overall liked the class, but i wish during lecture we were give more problem to work on with the teacher then just slide. But it was still understandable. He tells you what he will put on the test. He is always available for office hours, everyday.
His class was good, but I wish he had worked out some practice problems. His lectures are just him going thru slides so I'd recommend reading the chapters ahead of time so you follow along better. He is forgiving with grading, on both tests and labs. I felt that his tests were slightly difficult due to the lack of problems done in class.
Professor Jabalameli is such a funny guy. I attended every class and got so much out of this class. He made chemistry fun for me. He cares about his students and his lectures are very understandable. Strongly recommend.
Ali is a very nice man and if you study his powerpoint thoroughly, you will do fine. Tests were not bad if you study. Labs were fun and short; however, everyone failed his lab exams. He curved the lab exams but still it was bad lol. Wish he did problems on the board but its all on the slide show Hes a real good guy and wants everyone to do good.
Almost all people in the class were failing. He did not do any practice, just his slideshow. He'd skip all the formulas on the slide show and how to use them, just go over the theory. You study it, come to the test, and apparently he wants you to understand all the formulas and where to use them, when in class he didn't go over any of them
People, who have left bad rating just have never had another chem prof at GCC. He is the best chem teacher I've ever had. He understands, he cares. Take him and don't believe people, who hoped to get an A without doing anything. If you work, you'll get the grade you deserve, even maybe higher than you deserve !
One of the most caring professor's i've ever had. His lectures aren't great, but he knows his stuff, ask and he'll answer gladly. His lab is really fun, I enjoyed it very much. By the end of the semester, he gave so much extra credit that it's basically an easy pass.
His lectures are fast and unclear, and he came off as a really careless teacher. As I stuck through the class and went to him for help, he really wasn't that bad. If you care about the class enough to reach out for help, he will care for you. Tells you everything that's going to be on the test two days before. Textbook practice problems help a lot.
His lectures consist of slides. You dont have to go to class to pass. But get ready to study on your own and teach yourself .
Hes the nicest and most caring professor Ive ever had. If you study his slides and do the homework then you should get an A. Labs were always fun and he was more than willing to help. Dont listen to lazy students who expected to pass without doing anything!
I started out with a low C in his class and by the end of the year he gave us extra credit and dropped the lowest test grade and I ended up with an A. First two tests are hard but he changes it to MC and practically everyone passes. Labs are easy and fun and always finish early. He really cares about your grade and tries his best to help you out.
Professor Ali is a chill guy, but in order to pass his class you are going to have to teach yourself almost everything unless you visit his office hours. Class was 4 tests, online quizzes, and the final. If you expect to get through his class by cheating, good luck, his final is pretty in depth. His curve saved everyone's grades.
Hes the most caring and sweetest professor at GCC. Make sure to pay attention during his lectures and youll do well on the tests. The first two tests are written and the rest are multiple choice. He gives extra credit at the end of the semester which helps with your grade. You wont regret taking him.
go to lecture or else you won't get the necessary material you need to know for the exams. other than that, he's super funny and caring. not that great of a prof
Guys, I don't think he is the worst chem professor, but he is not the best for sure. Get ready to study both the book and his lecture slides, ask as many questions as you can, show that you want a high grade and work for it. He's very kind and caring
Awesome
He was an amazing teacher. He would answer every question without getting annoyed. If you do good in his class and respect him, he will respect you back.
Prof Ali is really nice, his class is an easy B, but hard A. His tests are easy if you study well. Make sure you go back and restudy his slides, that will help. Labs are super short and fun. Don't skip class, and don't leave everything for the night before, and you'll be fine. A lot of people fail due to their own laziness.
Attend the Labs even though they aren't mandatory. An amazing professor. The low ratings he gets on sites like these are from the students that skipped lectures and wondered why their grades were approaching rock bottom so fast.
I took him for Fall 2020 and overall he was pretty good. His labs were not mandatory (if you missed, it was okay). His tests were hard though and he did not give too many study guides for help. There were quizzes and homework but it was simple. Pretty good and nice teacher.
I am not a chemistry person but this professor was the most understanding and caring one I had all year. If you listen to his lectures, then you'll pass the exam. The labs were fun and helped boost your final grade (lab exams were difficult but he rounded them). He is accessible and is always there to answer questions you may have.
His lectures were pretty helpful, but the exams were pretty hard. Even with a lot of studying, there was always a curveball for some of the questions. He is willing to answer and explain questions. Labs were alright. He did round up for many people.
He was the rudest professor I've ever had, telling students to ask questions and then interrupting them and saying "go back to the slides." He's nice/his intentions are good but his delivery is very demeaning. Some Q's on the test are not even in the lectures (read the book). I got an A-, but ONLY because I worked hard and studied/taught MYSELF.
To everyone thinking to take him, I am telling you right now DO NOT! I am not the best chem student cause it is not my major, but he defiantly did not try to help at all did not answer any questions and made the test out of problems we never saw in the lectures. Quizzes are easier but he is very picky with labs and never has a reasoning.
do not take him. terrible. yes, it helps to listen but he zoomed by everything because he assumed we knew the material. and he completely degrades you and has a demeaning tone when no one answers him or everyone doesn't give him the right answer. he encourages everyone to ask questions but treats you like you're dumb.
I am an extremely diligent student. I studied extremely hard for his exams and kept good notes and paid attention in lectures. I still am doing poorly in his class. I think the exams have poorly worded questions that lead you to incorrect answers. He doesn't go over material clearly, and he is rude when you are trying to ask for clarity.
Look I have never failed a class but I am currently failing this one (not joking) . I do not want to drop it but it has been a challenge. Quiz and 1-2 labs per week. The tests are HARD. I study, many of my peers study hard and fail. Lets just say the average on our last exam was 50%I literally have to teach myself.
the average on our last exam (class of 80+ ppl) was 44%. I've decided to drop it, which made me have to redo my entire education plan. he bullies and yells at students for asking simple questions. His lectures make nearly no sense at all. the material is fairly easy (I've taken chem courses) but he refuses to explain anything. major waste of money.
He has been the most difficult to deal with. I have never struggled as much as I have in his class with any science class. His lectures and notes do not help whatsoever. The majority of the class fails almost every exam that has been administered. This man is incompetent, and I will never again be taking his class.
This class was hard. He gives difficult exams and purposefully tricks you on them. He does not go into full detail with the material and shows questions we never went over. He welcomes questions yet gets annoyed when you ask them. He makes you feel stupid for not understanding anything. He gives quizzes and lab reports once a week. Avoid him.
This has been the worst class I have ever taken. This man is horrible. He cannot teach. I have tried so hard and still have a C. I have decided to drop the course because there's still another exam left and I will drop to an D. His exam averages are like 50% for a class of 93 students. Yells at you for no reason. Rude. Avoid him at all costs!
The exams he makes us write have nothing to do with his lectures. I studied on my own because his lectures were boring and useless. Make sure to read the textbook carefully and pay close attention to details because the questions he puts in the exams are usually tricky.
With the pandemic surging, teaching has been extremely difficult for many professors and people might see how this change impacted Dr. Ali. If you have no previous knowledge about chemistry, do not take him!!! Exams are 65% of your grade so if you bombed one, you would need to ace every other one. Weekly quizzes and labs. Sometimes hard to contact.
My personal experience with Dr. Ali was fine. You absolutely must apply yourself to get an A, and tests are worth > 60% of the grade, so don't mess up! Dr. Ali was a fine professor, but we ran into a few hiccups with him, and negative reviews highlight this. Overall, his class was pretty polarizing, and I would be a little cautious if you take him.
This Prof gets defensive when you ask questions, be careful because you pretty much teach yourself EVERYTHING.
If you put in effort in the class then you will get good results and Dr. Ali will help you along the way. The lectures are recorded and on canvas therefore you may re view them anytime and Dr. Ali is always available to answer any of your questions and make even during the exams! Have a good attitude in the class and show up during his office hours
I learned so much important information from his class. He provides online prerecorded lectures that go over the material very detailed. He's open to any question and will make sure you got your answer. His tests are heavy, sometimes may be tricky but as long as you watch the lectures and be attentive in his class you'll be fine.
he is a nice caring person, he curved a test we all got low on and gives the topics for upcoming tests but he just cant teach well tbh, the lecture videos are not helpful, boring, and sometimes missing topics that come up on the tests, youtube has helped me alot more. The grades only consist of tests, quiz, and labs so everything really counts
Nice guy but he doesnt know how to teach. His prerecorded lectures weren't helpful at all, I tried so many times to watch them all the way through and use them to study off of. He was just too vague, would skip over concepts and seemed lazy when it came to actually teaching. Tests are a big part of your grade so its hard to pass if don't do well
I took this course during this summer and I would recommend anyone who wants to take chem 101, to take it with this professor. Even though it was only labs that were in person, he took the time to lecture during the class to make sure everyone understood the material that would be on the exams. Overall, a very good and solid professor and grader
If I hadn't taken chem 110 prior to this class, I would not understand a thing in chem 101. His lectures are very unclear and do not explain well. You have to teach yourself everything. He literally told us not to bother him with emails...He didn't even provide a study guide, he just said to go over lectures
He is the worst professor I have ever seen. He canceled the class about three times. He doesn't let you email him and you have to ask questions during the lab. He doesn't have office hours. You can't ask him if it was not class, but he always left the classroom. His lecture video was terrible and recorded in his previous class several years ago.
Ali was a very good professor and I highly recommend him. His online lectures could be tedious at times but he goes over everything. He also provides numerus examples of how to do calculations. If you ever have any questions ASK HIM! He is more than willing to help you go over ANY problem ANYTIME. He tells you everything that will be on the exams.
Professor Ali is an excellent instructor who genuinely cares about his students' success. While the final exam can be challenging, he provides all the necessary materials and information on what to expect, which makes the preparation process much more manageable. fair with his grading and applies a curve at the end, which is greatly appreciated.
Dr. Jabalameli was amazing. He is very generous and understands student needs. His lectures and labs are straight forward. He provides a study guide for each exam with number of questions for each topic no surprises. Study the topics on his study guide for each exam. Questions are conceptual so you need to understand the concepts.
During our summer class, he tried his best to cover everything from the video lectures. Anything that you need clarification on from the video lectures - he'll take questions and explain the concept.
Very bad professor. I'm so upset. His lectures are awful, I didn't know where to find information from. I prepared precisely to exams by his lectures and had to look for more information in the internet. But anyway it didn't help. I'm not lazy student. It's very offensive. It's just a waste of time, so don't make a mistake, don't choose him!!!
This was honestly THE WORST professor I've ever had at GCC. Super lazy, barely cares about the students, and always leaves in the middle of class for 10minutes minimum. His lecture videos are terrible, and he can't explain anything clearly in person. he can't even speak English. Easily the worst 3 months of my life. AVOID HIM IF U CAN!!!!!!!!!!
As much as I loved the labs we did, this class was graded on 70% Tests,10% Lab/Quiz, 20% Final. I had to drop the class due to the workload I had in other classes. If you understand chemistry already, take his course, he's passionate about Chem. He doesn't allow emails though, you'd have to talk face to face with him, and there are no office hours.
Some reviews claim he is cold or wants students to fail, but these come from the hurt outliers who exaggerate his sarcasm to have a reason to hate him for the grade they deserve. This is a chemistry course, not theatre arts. Overqualified teacher, amazing class, easiest Chem 101 course at GCC. Take my word for it, take this teacher.
Take another professor if you want to pass! He does not care for his students and is always rude. Will not drop any exams. 2-hour lectures that won't teach you anything. Youtube and the internet will teach you more than this guy.
If people say he's mean, it's more so because they don't listen to what he says. Lectures are videos that are boring. Curves your grade by three percent technically although the exams are hard. Out of 90 students between five exams including final each of them had an average of 70% or lower even after he curves them.
Great Professor, be ready to learn and put in effort for a good grade. Should not be to difficult class is well organized and structured. Test are not so difficult, if this is your only science course should be light, but taken with other science courses could get a difficult. Amazing Professor very nice!
Dr. J is a great prof! You're going to realize you actually need to put in work to excel. I found myself using outside resources to grasp concepts (god bless organic chem tutor) and studied A LOT. He's witty and loves sarcasm. It is an organized class with weekly online quizzes. Exam problems are somewhat similar to the material provided to study.
Professor Ali is fairly helpful, but his lectures can be hit or miss. The material is challenging, so staying on top of things with the textbook and using resources like Unstuck study are key. Overall, a decent class if you put in the work.
I hate the disrespect this man is getting! He is the most chill person on earth. He's an easy grader and he doesn't hold a grudge on anyone like other professors. I barely worked hard in his class and I still got an A, he's lenient on grading. He curves also for us it was 3 points. You will realize how good he is when you take 102. He's the best!
Professor Ali is very good. I don't understand why students complain about him. Those who complain are simply lazy and looking for an easy A. If you study by watching his videos and taking notes, you'll pass the class easily. He can also improve your grade at the end based on your performance. Take him.
As for the class: If you actually pay attention and watch the lectures and do some practice you will do fine in the class; he explains everything well. Lab work sometimes is heavy but you're in groups all the time so its fine. Questions are welcomed and if you are lucky he'll wrap his arm around you like father and son he's so proud of you.
Super nice! Great teacher, and I highly recommend him. Pro tip; study for his exams from lecture and his quiz questions.
Great guy, he will explain anything you don't understand, you just have to ask. Lab is partner/group based. Tests are based on lectures and quizzes, no made up stuff.
This class consists of a lot of group/partner activities when it comes to labs. Exams were difficult in this class, and the scoring average was around 70%. The lectures he provides online were awful and unhelpful. Studying the resources online and reviewing the previous chemistry class is better. Ali also doesn't like to repeat, so beware.
Be prepared to use resources for studying outside what is provided. Four Exams (40% of final grade) weekly quizzes (10%) weekly lab reports (20%) and the final exam was worth 30% of the grade. He's a very entertaining lecturer. The content goes pretty in-depth; good to take if you plan on taking Chem 102. Doesn't let you take previous exams home.
Dr. J is the best teacher I've ever had. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His lectures are clear, organized. His exams aren't difficult —giving 3 hours for only 30 questions. If you pay attention in class, ask him questions ( he's always happy to answer everything), and put in the effort , and you'll definitely get an A.
He was so nice, I got C but it was just because I didn't study enough, he was explaining everything really well, answering all my questions and was there to help with everything
This professor is AMAZING! He really takes the time to explain everything, goes over exams, and really tries to make his students understand the topic. He's very helpful and caring! He really wants his students to succeed. Definitely recommend him!
