My best prof yet! Fun teacher, lots of demonstrations. Don't expect lectures!
Tough class, especially if languages don't come easily to you. However, she's always avaliable during office hours for extra help, and she's very nice as long as you do your absolute best!
Great at getting her point across. You wont just learn what the dept wants you to know you'll come out knowing so much more.
Very good professor. I had her for Honors 1 and 2. 100% effort is what your grade is based on and expect to have to learn the vocabulary. She's great, I'd recommend her in a second!
Wonderful prof-- one of my favorites ever. It's really worth it to get a class with her. Class is never dull, and she's extremely understanding. I'd build my schedule around having her for a class.
if you have to take spanish, TAKE HER!! she had to learn the language herself, so she understands what it is like for us and teaches accordingly. she will never stress you out or make you feel stupid by calling you out in front of the class like others do
not your typical class! great class to take, my only complaint is that you never really know how you are doing. she doesnt give out a lot of grades, but at the end most people had a's and b's
COOOLLLL!!!!
Absolutely wonderful. I learned so much from her this semester...she made it easy to learn eventhough I had a crappy Spanish 1 teacher!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!! I had so much fun in this class, I would definitely recommend it!!!
AWESOME. Funny and extremely helpfull.
Korosy is cool. She uses the chaos-theory behind her teaching, but that's what's fun about the class. You can have fun in her class and crack jokes and all that jazz, so it's not bad going to class. She's very understanding about anything...
DEFINITELY TAKE KOROSY! Best Spanish teacher I've ever had-- I actually learned stuff this time. The class was really fun too!
Very tough, but also a very good teacher that makes spanish fun.
She is a very good professor. You will have to do some studying, but it's nothing too terrible. Highly recommended for Spanish 2.
Great prof. I scraped by in Spanish I, but I got an A in Spanish II w/ Korosy. Easy to learn from, and a lot of fun. Be prepared to do "interactive" learning activities with the class.
The BEST prof. I've ever had. The best thing about it is, YOU LEARN!
I have learned more Spanish in this class in 3 months than I did in 3 years of high school Spanish! She is great!
I took Korosy a second time because I liked her so much. I'm scared to go on in Spanish because she's so much to judge someone against.
not only is she one of the nicest professors i've had, but she allows students to speak their minds and suggest things in class. we applied the language to every day conversation, crazy skits, and even political debate. a fun and informative professor.
I lucked out and got Korosy for 1120 and 1121. I couldn't imagine taking Spanish from any other professor. I got to know my classmates and her very well. I felt like I could really talk to her if I had a problem. I learned a LOT!
I'm now taking my 4th Spanish class with Korosy and I'd recommend her to anyone. She gets so much joy from teaching, which is what makes her so great. She's also not a native speaker, so she can totally sympathize with how hard it is to learn languages.
She has such a personality! Trust me, her class does take some work. But she gives you all you need to get an A. It's not that hard!! :) She is a fun professor to learn from. She always adds in some humor to the day! Take Korosy. Especially for Spanish 1!
Awesome teacher&person.
Seriously, coolest teacher ever. I can't imagine anyone every giving her a bad rating. You have to study, duh...you'll learn alot! Very helpful and understanding. She really loves teaching, and is completely there for the students.
Very intimidating. Make sure you do well in Spanish 1. Great professor overall
Felt completely overwhelmed when I entered this class. She helped me understand and feel comfortable with the language. Stayed after almost every lecture to help. Uses great interactive activities to ensure understanding. Really cares, very down to earth
the very first thing korosy said when she entered the room was not "hi" or "how are you," but "ok, if anyone here does NOT like to have fun, walk out the door RIGHT NOW." she can get the dumbest students to speak spanish well. take her class, its worth all the learning and laughter and fun.
She is the seriously the ideal prof you would want for a spanish class. She makes learning fun, and you really want to learn more so that you can express more. At the same time it is very stress free and confortable learning, which allows for long term absorbtion. I've learned alot.
Korosy is an awesome teacher, and so much fun, but I wouldn't reccomend taking her class half online and half in class. It didn't help that we had 3 hurricanes, but the organization wasn't great, and I never knew when things needed to be turned in. I would take her again if it was not online.
OMG I dont know how she got all these ratings. Korosy's class is REALLY hard. It takes a lot of work and effort to get a good grade. You may spend hours staring at the book. She is a good teacher, but this class was harder than Biochemistry.
This is college, you're adults. Of course you have to study. Do you want an easy A, take someone else. Do you want to do some work, really learn something and have a professor who truly cares, then take Korosy. She is an outstanding prof who finds fun and creative ways to help you learn the material. Highly recommend to the serious students.
Take her!! she's an awesome teacher!!! she makes up games and we even played spanish monoply!! she's awesome!! she grades really leniantly.. but you still have to study and do the hw... but definetly take her!
Take her she is incredibly helpful. Really wants to see a student learn and enjoy it. She is great.
wonderful, funny, and helpful teacher. She wants to help her students learn. Do NOT take this class if you are uninterested in spanish or if you hate having a good time. Try to pay attention and participate because she has a strange way of grading.
She is such a wonderful teacher. She loves her job and students. She makes this class easy as possible and is specific with her work. IF you pay close attention to her and come to class everyday, you will get an easy "A"... guranteed !
I've been at UCF for 3.5 years, and this has been my favorite professor by far. Classes are very fun -there's some homework, but it's easy. Tests are somewhat difficult, but by the time you take them you're definitely prepared. VERY fair grader. This is a class where you will actually LEARN and understand the language (unlike most spanish classes).
It's Spanish, it's not easy, but she tries to make it better for you. Nice having a native English speaker who understands the same problems you might have trying to learn Spanish. Keeps things fresh and creative. Goes out of her way to make sure you learn the material. Hard but fair. Probably the best Spanish teacher.
She is great. She tries very hard to make learning spanish easier. Very interactive class with games etc. She is very helpful and good personality. Rarely gives graded homework. Tests are not too hard if you study what she tells you.
Awesome! She is sooooo sweet and helpful. One of the the best instructors I have ever had. She actually made the class fun, I definitely recommed her 100% for anything she teaches
Best professor ever! Period!
She teaches in a very different style but one that works.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
Finally a professor that actually knows where her students are coming from.
AMAZING!!! She is wonderful...very nice, understanding. She makes Spanish fun and interesting. She is soo sweet!
She is a very easy teacher, and she is way too nice. She's so easy that she doesn't even give grades. If you go to class, participate, and show that you are interested, you will get an A. There is no final...our "final" is a paragraph on what grade we deserve. Even if you are terrible at Spanish, take her!
The greatest professor ever. I really didn't like spanish, but now I actually understand it. She makes learning so much fun. Class requires effort, because there are homework and quizzes, no EC. Overall, the best class I have taken at UCF!!!!
One of the top 5 teachers i've EVER had!! She is easy because she makes spanish fun and has the skills necessary to still facilitate learning... BUT, you still need to put fourth the effor to get an "A"..... To put it this way, I waited a whole year to take Spanish II, just so i could take it with her....
The semester hasn't ended yet but I just want to say that so far, she's amazing. I love her lectures. She knows how to communicate at a friendly, approachable level. Sometimes professors can be intimidating but with her, I feel safe in asking any questions that I have about the class. She's a good person and an excellent professor.
Don't take her. She doesn't teach very often, just makes you play games in her class. You have to learn it yourself in the book otherwise you're screwed.
Vague and disorganized. Schedule was blank filled in on Mon w assignments due on Thur. Prof accused class of having senioritis but think it was her as she couldnt be bothered grading assignments. Turned in 25 pieces of work got 4 back graded. Fin grade must of been based on who she liked. Takes attendance. 2 presentations, 1 rsch paper, lots of bs
Amazing! She is very helpful. She will sometimes assign something due next class, but half the time doesn't grade it (you never know which ones she will, so do them all). Finals are interesting (not in a bad way) and if you go to class and participate you can easily get an A. Overall, it was a fun class to take!
She is an awesome teacher. Her class is pretty easy (but I had taken 3 years of Spanish in high school), but her class is also fun. She is lenient as far as grading, and she really cares about her students. I would definitely take her class again.
She really engages her students in her lessons. I learned a lot of more conventional spanish in here class than I feel I would in other classes. Weekly homework, but it's not bad. She is always willing to help you if you don't understand and is just really enjoyable to take a class with. She is really understanding and she never makes a class dull.
My favorite UCF prof so far. Class was unconventional and fun. Activities highly interactive and often hilarious. You might be "robbed" in class by spanish speaking banditos with squirt guns, or film spanish soap operas, or play bingo in spanish. Online homework time-consuming but not difficult. Otherwise grade is based on effort and participation.
I'M TAKING THIS CLASS NOW AND HATE IT!!! SHE DOESN'T EXPLAIN THINGS CORRECTLY AND THERE IS WAYYY TOO MUCH HOMEWORK. SHE TAKES FOUR DAYS TO ANSWER EMAILS AND YOU HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK & PASSCODE OR YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING! SHE DOESN'T WANT TO ASK QUESTIONS, SHE TELLS YOU TO ASK YOUR CLASSMATES AND YOU BETTER PRAY THEY UNDERSTOOD! THIS CLASS IS AWFUL!
Professor Korosy is very helpful and easygoing. However, there is a very large amount of homework given that can prove difficult to keep up with if you have a busy schedule.
One of the best Professors I've taken. She is very enthusiastic about Spanish, is very fair, cares about students, and makes the class interesting. There are in class quizzes, online and in-class tests, essays (big part of the grade), oral activities (graded fairly leniently), in class activities that require participation, and weekly hws.
Great Prof!
Took her Honors. Great teacher who really cares about the students. Doesn't really put a high priority on grades. She wants you to learn, and loves it when you come to her office hours! Great teacher
Took her Spanish 1 Honors course. She was an amazing teacher. Grading is mostly based off of participation so you need to attend class. Makes class fun and interesting. Really cares about her students. Received an A in the class while missing a quiz and several assignments and some hw.
Nice person, but extremely unorganized. She sometimes takes attendance but no one goes to class because it's a free for all and there's no real lesson plan. She assigns a lot of homework and most of your grade is determined by your ability to write essays! Avoid this class.
Profesora Korosy is nice, knowledgeable & fair--if you do the homework & online modules, at least try to participate in class & aren't disrespectful you'll do just fine. Class was educational & often fun. She's not a native speaker, but to be honest learning from non-native speakers seems to help the transition when starting a new language. (:
She is extremely nice. Normally she does not accept late assignments, but will occasionally make exceptions. I dreaded learning spanish, but she has made it pretty easy to transition to.
Best Spanish teacher at UCF. Really cares about her students and wants them to not only pass, but learn. Yes, there is lots of online work, but what do you expect when you're trying to learn another language? Repetition is necessary. Lots of interesting in-class participation. You really do learn a lot and I'm sad I cannot take her for SPN1121.
Profesora Korosy is such a sweet woman. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She's disorganized, but grades everyone's work and gives good feedback. Quizzes weren't hard if you study a little or show up to class. Quite a bit of online (busy) work. I'd recommend her to anyone no matter how much Spanish you know.
I took this Class online. As most online classes there is work to do but for this class I took it over the summer and you have to be on top of the assignments everyday. You have webcam , partner or group , chat assignments, quizzes, test and online activity assignments. So you have to be engaged to get that A . She is a very nice professor.
I didn't do very well. She uses the immersion technique and engulfs you with homework and projects that you get in front of the class for. She waited till the end of the semester to post ALOT of the grades. I was not introduced to any prior Spanish. She gives a lot of resources to help you. Get into it!
Professor Korosy is pretty awesome. Down to earth and tells it like it is. Final grade is pretty much entirely based on how actively you participated in class, which can be frustrating for those trying to figure out what they need to make on the exam. She'll challenge you at times, but just be prepared to speak a lot of Spanish and have fun.
Korosy is super personable and has a really informal teaching style. She gives a lot of work but also her grading system heavily rewards "trying" over concrete grades, which can be good or bad depending on what type of student you are.
Mrs. Korosy is the friendliest teacher I've met at this school. She is very accommodating to students, helping in any way she can. However, she is fair and will only make exceptions under special circumstances. She wants your success and gives really good feedback on assignments. Summer Spanish is NOT easy, and she made it as painless as possible.
Professor Korosy is super nice and is very attentive. She responds quickly and thoroughly. However, this class was extremely difficult. The homework was insane and she is a tough grader.
Shes nice, humorous and provides good comment feedback. However, because she gives a LOT of homework and I mean A LOT and nevertheless a tough grader as well, I do NOT suggest you take her, its a lot to manage. You literally have to be willing to dedicate all your time to this class. If you are only taking 2 classes sure if not, DONT TAKE HER.
Super friendly teacher, really cares about her students. Has an informal teaching style and cares whether her students try/participate. You need to study for this class. Harder than most Spanish classes because she wants you to actually be able to hold a conversation. Do not skip class, it affects your grade. I wish she posted grades online.
absolutely hate this class. im taking it online and the book you have to buy isnt really helpful. you just need it to access all of the assignments, and there are A LOT. currently spending 5+ hours almost everyday working on them. anyways its almost like she throws you into the online spanish labs but there isnt really anything to learn from.
I was struggling with some mental health stuff and she was more than understanding and accommodating. That being said, try your hardest to make it to every class because participation and attendance are a huge part of your grade. One thing that's frustrating is that she doesn't post actual grades so you have no idea what your gpa is until the end.
Ali was basically a mentor for me as I was starting college. She's just a nice person who cares about her students. Her classes are fun, a lot of informal discussions where you actually practice speaking. Also likes games. I learned a lot of Spanish. She gives a few quizzes and assignments and grades leniently. Sometimes brings in her cute dog :)
Let me start by saying this professor is a true joy to be around in that she actually cares about her students. She teaches to make you learn not to pass the class so if this is not your style beware. The homework is CRAZY so be ready to dedicate around 3 hours every other night to the course. Be ready to put in a lot of time and effort!
Prof. Korosy was amazing! She is funny, she knows what she's teaching and how to teach it, and she is helpful. Treat her like a friend, and she'll treat you like family. The class was easy, but there were work to do (not a whole lot tho). There were biweekly homework on VHL, four tests I believe, and the midterm + exam.
Prof. Korosy is truly the BEST. I suck at spanish and she made it so easy to understand. Obviously you have to put in work to get the grade you want. But shes funny, caring, and kind. Her office is always open for office hours and she cares very much about her students. DEFINITELY recommend.
Professor Korosy is a fantastic professor! She made learning spanish fun and was a very effective teacher. She definitely cares about her students. She assigns a good deal of online homework, but it is all relevant and helps with the course. In class is mainly practicing spanish with a bit of lecture. Would highly recommend this professor!
"If you choose to ignore the corrections and comments found in the Comment Box for each of the script writing assignments, that is certainly your choice and I won't argue. In the latter case, your grade will be an "Incomplete," or 0%. Fair warning! ;)" This is a copy/paste of one of the rude comments she makes throughout her class. AVOID HER!
Absolutely one of the worst teachers I have ever had the displeasure of using. She treats an intro to Spanish class like it's a masters expecting the utmost when only a handful of grammatical architecture and words are given. She's condescending in tone and treats everyone like they are children. This is the worst language class I have ever taken.
