Professor Ali will teach you either from bad o good way! You must show that you have The MBA Level requirements to his class! Prepare to A LOOOOT OF WORK! You will learn about how works business in Canada.
He is an excellent professor in teaching and fair grading. He inspires his students to participate in class activities and helps them to grow.
He is childish, gives a lot of work, but is very helpful overall. Classes are practical and not dull. Professor understands the student's perspective and is very cooperative.
He is really informative and helpful. He makes sure that he will provide you the terms and information that you need before he gives exercises, group projects. Very Organized, Tech Savvy. He expects us to read and study on our own BUT he teach the theory or important details FIRST - so you can understand what you are studying. He is inspiring.
He is Informative. He will teach you and provide you the tools you need before putting you in a battle ground. He is available whenever you have questions or clarifications. He gives fun exercises, gives challenging group project but is really helpful if you want to be good in Business Writing. He is generous with important websites and links.
Amazing professor one of the best professor will make your tough journey comfortable I will definitely remember hum throughout my life he is so caring too
There is a lot of heavy assignments by this professor. Definitely not gonna select him anytime in the future. For a business subject, there are a lot of APA requirements. Which is understandable if it was a Phd Class but not in MBA.
the best professor of this university
The worst professor I ever had. He is so disorganized. He doesn't manage his time well because he has to give us instructions outside his schedule, which is unproductive because more than 100 students are involved and asking the same things. ALL the projects, the members were guessing what to do because his instructions were unclear.
He is a good professor and kind, but he has lots of projects, to begin with. 80% of my time we're allotted just to his projects. I like professor Ali's personality, but I wouldn't recommend him to incoming students just because of the workload.
Learnings: Templates & concepts of Marketing Plan, Business Proposal,Business Analysis & Financial Forecasting, interactive game to practice public speaking and sales pitch. Concerns : Heavy work load.He squeezed everything in 12 weeks which is difficult for him and students. He gives high grade tho to hardworking students and he knows who's lazy.
Positive: You will learn A LOT, caring and available on/off campus, interactive games, he requires MBA Standard paperworks. Class Participation & Hardwork are the factors to get an easy A. He knows who are hardworking & who are the lazy ones. He will give you a fair grade when your work is well researched. Negative: Heavy work load.
Professor Ali is an amazing instructor, knowledgeable, and teaches very well. gives a lot of assignments, but make an instruction video so you won't be confused. He is very fair to grading. He knows who is hardworking and who is lazy. He is available in teams. I will take his class again if he teachs other subjects.
do yourself a favor and choose another teacher, otherwise you will suffer from start to finish
He is a novice professor he doesn't have a clear work methodology since he always changes part of the projects, and makes meetings of 2 hours out of his schedule. He doesn't give feedback until the end of his course and by appointment only. We were in week 11 of the term and we had 5 big assignments to deliver! The last week was really, really hard
Quality and quantity are two very different things. He gives you a lot of work. I have a friend who had the same class with another teacher and learned exactly the same thing with less workload. I don't recommend him.
He is great at teaching and grading. He understands students and cares for them. Also, he knows how to manage the class. He has a high workload but you can learn a lot from his assignments.
He is accessible professor and has a good teaching style. If you work hard without speaking in class he misunderstands that you are not working. If you are doing his course with a job it's hard to get marks.
Good experience. very nice.
Ali is an excellent professor! He is great at teaching and giving feedback on different projects. He is willing to clear any doubts and provides examples and templates. You have to work a lot for this class, but you will learn a lot from him and the projects.
You will enjoy his class as he is very insightful and a lot of fun activities on/off campus lectures. He will not just give you modules to read on your own. He uses schedule to TEACH and Discuss. Expect a heavy work load BUT all those lessons you will encounter and learn from his foundation class are helpful for MBA Proper. Follow APA Template
He is a tough grader and so many paperworks but he can give you an A,A+ or A- if you 1.) Pro-actively participate in class activities 2.) Follow the paper work template that he will provide, if you are confuse always send him message in Teams 3.) Practice and apply APA Template and Guidelines in all his paperworks 4.) Improve Presentation Skills
He was awful.
Excellent professor for the foundation. Teaches basic skills that students will need for future MBA courses. Friendly and approachable professor who listen to students queries. Work load is more. Takes online class. Good at grading. He especially understand mindset and situation of immigrant students and helps them in more than academic way.
Really amazing professor... he is having great deep knowledge of subjects as well as if you are lacking at any of the point he will guide to achieve highest score... his teaching style is really out of the box... his grading system is really fair... if you have followed rubrics you will get good score for sure... so generous... highly recommend
He pretends to be a tough grade, but he notices your all efforts and grades accordingly. He always keeps track of students, whether the webcam is ON, how many questions you ask in his class, and participation matters a lot to him. He is a very good professor, and take him if you are willing to study and put in your effort.
The professor will expect a lot from you, and the last few weeks will be very hectic, but the grades will reward all the efforts in the end.
He has excellent teaching skills and is good at interacting with students. But the only thing you will be nervous about and stressed are, you will only receive all of your grades at the end of the semester. By the way, he has had a lot of workloads.
Easy instruction, step by step elaboration capability.
Excellent at explaining the lecture material. Participation is crucial in his class, and active engagement is necessary. He is very accurate in grading and easy to communicate with. He is always available for feedback, even before submitting the final paper, which is excellent. Taking his classes was wise, and I would choose him for future courses.
He seems too strict but is a good lecturer. U don't need to study a book, bcoz all the things he perfectly discusses in class. He polishes the student in such a way, u will pass his subject with great knowledge + good mark. He gives a lot of information about career, certificate courses. U will learn the sale pitch which no professor makes u learn.
He is not good if you want to pass MBAF. Too much workload for an MBAF, which is a non-credit course. Not recommended
He is a passionate professor. He makes his class interactive by indulging students in group activites during the class. His workload is manageable. One can score well if follow rubrics. Gives genuine feedback to the students. Attendance is mandatory. No exams
He is good professor who ever willing to study things. The expectation from students in project and assignments are high. Grading as per the rubrics and quality of the works should be good from students.
If you area good bootlicker, this professor is for you. Avoid him! as he teaches nothing and expects everyone to be master of everything.
Tough and tricky
As per Ali, only leaders in the team work and the rest do not do any work. All the marks go to leaders, and the team doesn't get any. This creates rivalry within the team. He doesn't allow students to think outside of the box and restricts them to think only within his boundary
He is amazing professor who is actually very concerned about his students .he respond immediately whenever you required help he is available to clear all your doubts. Put a lot of efforts make class interesting, engaging. Most importantly he is sn incredible human being.
His grading criteria is very impractical as he believes the that its the team leaders who only work. He doesn't't let students think out of the box. His workload is fine which is a group project, two presentations and a sales pitch...But he's an unfair and a tough grader. he's very strict on attendance both in physical and online classes
Very tough grading approach, heavy work load, strict attendance policy, especially insensitive to the struggles faced by international students, further adds to the challenges. Many of my classmates, despite their earnest efforts, have faced failures under his grading system. Highly not recommended.
You will get something to learn but he is obsessed in praising himself as if he's the only person with educated background. A tough grader who wont value ur efforts, He does not understand international student's struggle & has failed many of my classmates. If u have skills of buttering someone up then take him, u will get extra marks for that.
He takes extra classes and goes above and beyond so that he can add this to his resume; there's nothing for the students. His information to students is scattered across lengthy emails/Teams channels; which is not concise as he claims to be. Takes examples of his own family members but doesn't talk about what is happening inthe real industry.
This professor is known for taking extra classes and demonstrating a commitment to adding value to his resume rather than focusing on students. Communication is scattered across lengthy emails and Teams channels, lacking the claimed conciseness. The workload is excessive, creating undue stress and an unfavorable learning environment.
The professor is extremely strict, tough grader. Expect a heavy workload, and tight policies. Not recommended for those seeking a lenient approach to grading.
Lots of work and wants to follow his instructions, if not will fail you or give very low grades. Do not take him
Too much for MBAF level, 75% final grades in last few weeks to finalize, with other courses, which builds up lot of unnessary anxiety. If univerrsity had an online poll, he would have got the worst rating. Ambiguous grading, even if you follow the rubric not sure you'll get good grades. Not sure how some of us even got A or A+. Better avoid him.
This professor burdens students with excessive workload and undue stress, creating an unfavorable learning environment. Avoid if possible. His grading system is completely unacceptable.
He definitely has a strict rubrics which has to be followed to clear his subject, but he definitely teachers everything very well in the class. He also replies back on teams and help students. He will explain what are his expectations from the project, and will even show the sample papers which is very helpful. I do recommend him.
No doubt he is a good professor, get ready to read. However, his classes are fun and you'll get to learn a lot about the course. If you do what he is asking for you'll get good marks.
Professor Ali is a tough grader he can mark you absent even if you are not being able to show for a few minutes in online class he has really strict guidelines , his teaching style is very different tough but useful he can give all the assignments in end of session that can lead to heavy workload
Ali is very nice and kind. He prefers focusing on students and his class can help students with the career in Vancouver because he shares a lot of useful websites and tools with us. I kindly suggest we can read the textbook he shares because it is certain to be useful for us to understand the framework of MBA better. It is a good bridge class.
If you want peace of mind, then don't choose this professor.
Very tough grader for the non credit course.
Ali is an amazing professor who provides clear grading criteria. He is very knowledgeable about the different MBA pathways. In-class activities are done to assist with all assignments. Simply watch the videos as he considers all learning styles. He also gives great, detailed feedback and inspires his students to do well!
NEVER PICK THIS LECTURER HE NEVER GIVE MARKS
He is a showman, has great eloquence, has a lot of knowledge, and is really fast-paced. However - do not (never) lecture only tell (crazy or funny) stories - you can ask but never disagree; the projects are esthetical grade more for the beauty, not so much for the content. If he uses some terminology in class, "its subject given".
He uses recorded instructions from previous classes, which some parts do not apply to you it is similar but vague. Instead, make clear instructions for the actual project without safeguards/exceptions. Never lectures only try to show how friendly he is.
never choose him he makes every possible efforts to fail a student
One of the greatest professors in the university. You will learn concepts that'll come handy for your career. The course is difficult by nature but trust me if you listen to professor's advices and do the work, not only you'll get good grades, but also you'll gain invaluable knowledge that serves you for your entire career and the rest of MBA
If you want to learn something he is awesome to teach
Follow his instructions you can pass the subject easily.
Ali is a wonderful professor and a good grader. Go ahead and take him if you want to improve your skills as well as get a good score. Just follow his instructions, you will get a good grade, and for sure, you will learn a lot from his classes.
In my opinion if you want to get more knowledge then this is the best lecture. But, he provide huge work load. Such as, presentations, video presentations. But, we can prepare and get more confidence regarding video and PowerPoint presentations. Highly recommended.
He gives good presentation but make everything possible to reduce your marks
I would like my fellow students know that I took this course for foundation and he is very patient but would not just pass you for the sake of it. He will explain everything makes lectures engaging gives interactive and productive work to help you learn as well as prepare for future both MBA and professional workload.
He is an excellent lecturer, but the grading system is complicated. You will spend many hours to read his requirements. If you have never written a business plan and don't speak confidently, you'll struggle to get a good score. To pass his course, don't deviate from his rules. I spent many sleepless nights and days to complete the course.
If you really want to learn this professor is one of the best. He is super helpful. Takes additional care after class, and explains all the expectations on how to get good scores. Just follow the rubrics to get more than 90.
Prof. Ali is great professor. He is giving weekly presentation which are sometimes cause hectic schedule but my overall experience is good. He has proper instructions.Follow them u will easily receive good grades.
Too much work load, assignment every week, too many rules that don't make sense, scattered instructions through email, messages and video... Don't go for him please
It was a mistake to choose this professor. He don't know how to teach. He just knows his rules and wants everyone to follows it and if some one put up a question in his teaching, he fails them. Egoistic professor. Worst professor in the whole ucw. Don't ever take him.
If you want peace of mind avoid this professor at all cost. He makes a simple and easy subject so difficult and stressful. He is teaching communication but his own communication skills while giving instructions are terrible. On campus class for an online course, doesn't make sense. Only if you beg and do a lot of buttering he will give you marks.
Simple things were made hard to understand. Instructions were unclear, A lot of showboating of his own achievements. Regardless wouldn't recommend this lecturer at all.
His lectures are somewhat okay although he thinks he is very smooth with them, but it's quite the opposite. He seems like he needs a lot of validation of him being a fun lecturer. He doesn't care about the effort of students other than his own marking criteria. I have had other unreasonable lecturers before but nothing like this guy.
A lot of last moment home works and tight deadlines. Sometimes instructions are not properly given and keep mentioning how he explained everything last class when asked. Even if you put in all your effort be ready to not get expected grades.
Please do not make him your choice under any circumstances. He does not have a teacher sense, he does not belong to the education sector and is not qualified to teach. He likes to make things complicated. Just choose someone else. Frankly, teaching does not appear to be a suitable profession for him.
He is caring and inspiring. A little bit of workload. Participation matters. Clear grading criteria, and he will provide you with directions to achieve your grades of workload
He is an exceptional professor who holds high standards and guides us to perform at our best. His teaching is truly remarkable, and following his guidance ensures academic success. His group presentation activities instilled in us confidence, and the knowledge he imparts will surely benefit us in the future.
Too difficult and tough graders
Amazingg professor!! There will be workload but that's all worth it. You will literally learn from him and the projects he assigns to you. You can't use AI as it can't generate what is required. He was so good, we enjoyed a lot and his lessons are helping me in my MBA. Go for him. Just work n you will score good.
If You want to ruin your life in Canada then take him without any doubt.
Oka, if you do want to panic the hell out, you can go for him. Honestly, I have got good marks (above 85-90) but I will still say that he should not be here. He will bombard you with work load. Your brain will hang after 3hours+ extra classes. I have worked insane that's why I have achieved this grade. still, BIG NO.
He's considerate and transparent.
He can't teach; he only shows old videos as samples and bombards you with assignments and projects. He is never satisfied and wants students to put their lives into a course. I got a good grade, but the amount of time and energy I had to put into this was too much. I will never suggest him.
Worst professor, he give to much work but never satisfied with work.
Too many homeworks, a lot of time expended in his assignments, you will only know your grades on his last minute when the university is closing the grades system.
Not a bad professor but a tough grader. Just try to be open to the professor any difficulties easy to approach. Just be ready to read experience hard work.
Many tasks, he always asks for a draft and a final task, but everything is worth a grade, he can't give feedback on time, the classes are to explain the business plan, which is the main business project. For example, he has 18 hours of explanatory videos on how to make a business plan, and the students need to watch some videos.
Professor Ali tries to be a good instructor, and he believes his explanations are clear. Unfortunately, if you blink, you are at a loss. He is intense, way toooo fast and not objective at all. He follows rubrics by the book and will give you a low grade if your camera is not set exactly as he demands, even though you put a lot of effort in it.
He is a very good lecturer. He gave us instructions for all his asignments through emails and vedios in detail He explained them in the class and using extra online sessions (not mandatory). He showed us previous students' assignments to get a clear idea how to do it. So, if someone rate him bad that's because of the student's fault.
Ali is a good professor in class. Good at explaining the subject. But the assingments are too much even for him to handle. Instructions are all oover the place. On MS Teams, on brightspace, on 18 hour videos. Feedback is barelly provided and almost never individually, but for the group. Tries to be dynamic but end up being more confusing.
He's kind but a tough grader. Once you didn't follow his rubrics, you'll be automatically marked zero in that particular area. Allows you to use AI for generating pictures but not for texts/wordings. You need to have active listening so you can follow and catch up. Particular in APA format and wants you to be knowledgeable in navigating MS Teams
1. He is not qualified as a teacher, not patient as an instructor, and not friendly as a mentor. 2. The requirement of the assignments often takes the form of a long, long, long video, like 30-50 min, covering as many as 20 rules. Reading the requirement itself is an assignment, so double kill. 3. Will NOT choose his class ever!!!
If you want to learn, take him. If you cant handle the pressure, then dont
Clear grading, fair expectations, and great feedback. Teaching methods are engaging and prepare you for the real world. Perfect for those serious about learning and willing to put in the effort.
amazing professor, workload is high but still if you follow his instructions, one of the best professors to have.
Best professor. Only follow the rubrics and read and listen to his instructions from e-mail and videos. Available to answer doubts online. Easily score 90+ on your assignments.
I believe UCW should reconsider assigning this professor to teach a foundation course, as their approach seems to lack emotional intelligence. While strict policies can be effective in certain contexts, teaching international students requires a more adaptable and empathetic approach.
Professor is not as bad as people say here. Just follow his instructions and rubics. He pushes one to do his/her best. Dont take him if you are looking for an easy professor. He grades based on what you submit. He gives 1 extra assignment at the end of the term to meet up. Attendance matters alot. Zero tolerance to AI.
Easy grader if you follow instructions. Very rich and clear instructions. Lots of assignments, but a good instructor. You can learn and he cares about students.
Amazing professor! If you pay attention and participate, you'll do great. He explains things clearly and connects lessons to real-life situations. Attendance is a must, and class participation matters a lot! He helps his students alot. Grading is fair, but you need to stay engaged. Not an easy-A class, but you'll learn a lot. Highly recommend!
Professor Ali Niavarani will bring out the best in you. He pushes you till you get it right. You may not like it initially, in the end, you will appreciate him and love yourself for putting in the works.
Worst professor. Don't take him
Worst Professor, He dont care how much efforts you made for the assignment. youll get zero even if you miss slightest thing from his instructions. He dont care of the the content or hardwork he just care if things are according to the his wish or imagination
Prof. Ali is good. yes this is true that he give a lots of works but he also gives the good grades if you follow his simple instruction. No matter how many times you message him or email him he make sure to reply as possible as he can.
