Very easy professor, very easy class -- and very boring! It took him 2/3ds of the class to work up the opt-out exam for we who already know how to work a computer. In his defense he was dealing with new software. Tends to ramble, and his english isn't the best. If you're an absolute beginner, you'll love it. Otherwise hope he has the opt-out ready!

He's very nice, very helpful, and gives students every opportunity to pass his class, but that's also his weakness: he taught our class to the lowest common denominator, dumbing down the material so much that I ended up feeling a little cheated. Students who took CSC201 from other profs (e.g. Franssell or Fitton) learned a lot more than we did.

If you are looking to get an A in computer science all i have to say is take this man. he is very understanding, didnt do much in class, was online the whole time and i still got an A he is such a great guy and i would truely recomend him to anyone.

Great teacher! Took ITP 100 & 120 w/ him. Exams are multiple choice and does not mind if you are late. Allows students to grade their own paper. 2 exams and partial is your homework assignment of your final grade. Absolutely 110% recommended teacher.

Gave very easy assignments, let students choose questions for test, and choose how many questions they wanted on test. However he was often times over 15 minutes late for class.

A in both ITE170 & ITP100. Very nice and understanding. Do your work and you will get a easy A. The assignments are hella easy too. You don't need to be some kind of super artist to pass this class, just do what he ask for. (IMO He is trying to figure out what god is, so that is why he talks about that subject alot.)

This is the best professor I have ever had. First day he told students that if they could build out the last project for the class in an hour that they wouldn't have to come to anymore classes and would get an A. Last assignment was tough but I was able to do it in an hour and got an A. All I had to do was pass the final exam and I was done.

Class is easy and subjects are directly from professor not text book. I barely used the textbook. He does teach well but sometimes very unorganized especially when it comes to grading. Learning a new programming language can be daunting. As someone who is beginning to learn programming, I really loved this instructor. He is so clear and concise in his approach and explained the subject without overloading the students. Tons of examples, time to talk to him on his office hours.

To day we had the exam. I passed! Thanks to his hard work and comments. He makes programming approachable. I did not notice this simple fact until I had to take another programming course from other instructors. I will drop and wait until he start teaching the second part of this course.

Took him Summer 2017 ITP 100 Class. This professor is really well praised .Otherwise as for teaching, he is alright. He doesn't post homework or assignments until much later so you only get 2-3 days to do it. Pay attention or else you will slack off. If you do the work, you will do well. Wonderful, well respected, and the best professor I had at NVCC. Has bit of an accent but totally understandable. Provides lecture that are hands-on and assignments that correlate to the class and projects that can be used as side-projects to use for resume's. Professor Ali, is one of the generous teacher in Nova in the field of IT. He teaching style is Perfect, he wants you to know more about the topic and apply it to real word experience instead of testing you heavy materials. The information and source codes were easy to understand and follow, it was presented in an order that makes sense to students who do not know much about programming, and all drives towards a purpose to show how it can actually be used in real IT world.

A textbook is REQUIRED! PPTs in lectures alone are not enough to pass ITP 100-clearly stated in the syllabus. Reading chapters will help you generate questions to ask in the lecture. All pseudocode/flowchart assignments are formed based on examples from the textbook. ITP100 will lead to success and even fun in ITP150!

This professor was very patient with the whole class. There were a few students disrupting the lectures. I was amazed at how the professor treated them respectfully and never complained about their behavior. he was fair to everyone and graded everyone anonymously, this action alone helped those students to pass the course.

Professor Soleymani was amazing for me. 100000% the best professor I have taken at NOVA. His tests and quizzes can be difficult but the workload is definitlely not heavy for ITP120. There aren't many assignments and the quizzes/exams make up for most of your grade. He has a thick accent, but he cares a lot about his students and knows the material.

I took his asynchronous class. The class was what I expected, however he did make a mistake by only releasing the material for the first half of the course, and released the second half right after the midterm. This resulted in me losing the head start I created and there was a lot of homework and projects that I had to cram.

The assignments had guided videos which helped a lot and you did learn the material and personally I enjoyed the coding part itself aswell. Though he is strict about extensions and doesn't give them. 2 exams in total, assignment heavy, if you keep up; easy A.

Professor Soleymani is an amazing professor. Over my 3 years in college, I have never had a kinder, more accommodating, and fun professor. He is always open to taking questions and going out of his way to explain concepts further. The Python course goes at a very reasonable pace even for complete beginners. No textbook required.

One of my favorite professors by far. He's so funny and explains everything very thoroughly. You will learn a lot with him. His assignments are very simple to complete, and exams are very easy to pass if you pay attention in class. He clearly loves to teach and he enjoys coding a lot. He made me want to learn other types of coding. amazing prof!!

One of the best professors I have ever had! He constantly encourages participation and motivates us to think critically. He asks challenging questions that really make you dig deeper, and then he answers them with such insight and detail. His teaching style makes learning JavaScript exciting. If he offered more courses, I would sign up.

Professor Solymani has a rare gift of teaching with both expertise and kindness. He is very patient when students struggle, He answers each question beautifully, turning it into a learning moment for the whole class. I truly wish he would teach more diverse courses in programming and Python, because I would love to continue learning from him.

This professor is good at lecturing and he wants his students to pass. Most of the grading comes from the two exams with 40% being from assignments, which were not many and pretty straightforward and easy. Only problem is that he would sometimes waste a lot of class time talking about policy, cheating, and other stuff.
