If you are a day late with a paper, youre in trouble. she is nice on the surface but really not when u get to know her. very touch grader, i really liked her at the beginning of the semester, but that quickly changed. I dont recommend her!

SHE'S EVERYTHING A WRITING TEACHER IS SUPPOSED TO BE. SHE'S STRICT, BUT UNDERSTANDING. MY FAVORITE CLASS DURING MY FIRST SEMESTER AT SFCC. (I GOT A B)

She may be a tough grader, but she is very helpful and will answer any questions you have. Dont take her if you want an easy A, you have to work for it. If you do take her, you'll walk away being a much better writer.

This was one of the best experience I have ever had in English. Even though I got a C in this class, she was always willing to help me with my papers. She always had time during her office hours. If you don't like writing papers, and you hate rough criticism, don't take her!

An excellent teacher for students who want to learn. For those who want to sit back and do as little as possible, this is the wrong class to take. Ms Zoecklin is not the teacher to choose if you are lazy. Lots of work, both in and out of class. Your brain will appreciate the exercise.

Not an easy grader AT all!! Other teachers would give an A on a paper she'll give a C. She's a nice person but don't take her English class unless you are an amazing writer. Grades papers HARD!

Yes, you do have to write a nice amount but Ms. Zoecklein is always willing to help you out if needed. She always makes it a point to ask for our feedback as she gives out assignments.

A very nice person. Willing to be as helpful as you want, but she won't carry passengers in her course. If you are prepared to put in the work you will get a lot out of this course. If you are lazy, don't feel sorry for yourself if you get a low grade.

Yes you do have to write, yes you do have to participate, but talk to her and, if necessary, fake interest. An A is VERY attainable, you just have to be confident towards her and the material.

I am currently in this class, and out of all the classes i am taking it is by far one of my easiest, there are a lot of essays to be written, but overall they make you think about the literature being read.

Decent class, easy enough to get an A if you come to class and do the work, don't skip out. Write alot, she doesn't take papers that have less than required

This teacher is very helpful and cares about her students. She also is available to work with you on your essays and doesn;t mind revising them. If your not good at english, though, she is a very hard teacher. This was one of my hardest classes to write papers in and took up a lot of my time.

She is GREAT! I love this woman. She has no problem revising essays and working with you one-on-one. If you have trouble with something in the class and you ask her to explain she will explain it for you and give you pages in the books so you can see examples. You must take her class!

She is a great teacher. She is not biased toward beliefs like many English teachers can be. She will work with you one on one if you need help. She really helped me improve my writing skills. She was hard sometimes but if you do the reading, participate, and write quality essays you can get an A.

I had Zoecklein for Poetry Writing. Shes not an overly harsh, nor an easy grader. Shes about average in this class. She is very intelligent and helpful, and really makes poetry enjoyable, and opens insight to those who werent previosly poetry buffs. You do have to conciously try to get good grades in her class, you cant just turn in shoddy crap.

I have always made good grades in english. But once i got into her class, i didn't. I never got an A once. I always got B's in the class, nothing more or less. She grades essays very harshly. You better know your grammar. She is very knowledgeable of poetry/lit/english, but she grades really hard. Honestly i wouldn't suggest her, take someone else.

Very Passionate Poetry instructor and writer. Was encouraging helpfull. Open minded for the most part but once or twice was a little overconfident in her own taste. Very tough grader so you'll have to revise and take your work very seriously. Not at all easy.

I love this woman! This is not an easy class but she will give as much help as you need. If you take advantage of this class you will learn a lot and improve your English skills. If you want to sit at the back and sulk because you are actually being asked to do some work, take another class.

Not an easy grade at all. You have to work for your grade. I took her one semester and had to drop .I took her a second time and passed with a B and passed the writing exam on the first time. She will help you but you also have to help yourself.

This woman is awesome. She will work with you if you do the work. She does grade hard, but folks we are in college now. Hard work will pay off in her class. I have become a better writer because of her demanding ways. I got a 99 on one essay, and she encouraged me to do the work.

Pretty good teacher. Quite lenient and helpful when you ask. She grades a bit hard, but not unfairly. I kind of wish she wouldn't incorporate so much poetry.

shes a damn good teacher. if you want to learn, take her. you cant skip the class very much. do her work. shes always there for help. the class isnt hard if u try.. you have to write alot, and the language she speaks in is extreemely proper. hard to understand sometimes.. makes u feel like u arnt smart sometimes.. but she is a good teacher

she's really good. she just hates it if you're not there. the person who said she's biased must have missed a bunch of classes because she's really helpful and easy if you just ask for help.

This is an amazing teacher. I don't believe all the negative comments, especially since they all, su****iously, have similar wording.

She's a wonderful teacher. Focuses on grammar A LOT but it's so worth it in the long run. Lots of writing and reading but she's really helpful when you ask for it. I find her way of speaking rather funny especially when she says "Pause button!" She's really sweet, TAKE HER CLASS!

There was grammar "group" tests almost every week. Lot's of papers that had multiple workshops. She helped with papers if you needed help. You have to work hard to get a good grade in her class. oh and be ready for pop quizzes on reading homework.

She is the toughest grader i have ever had! She helps you, when you ask which is nice, but this is a tough class to write papers in. VERY into poetry. Wants you in class. there is a sign in sheet

Lots of essays and workshops very biased on how she grades. If you miss a couple of classes she holds a grudge. Very tough grader.

You people are all crazy. This is one of the best professors I've ever had. I loved every minute of her class and I learned so much! She's an incredible teacher if you like English.

Mrs.Z is absolutely incredible. She is extremely passionate about what she teaches and there is never a dull moment in class. Compared to other english teachers at Santa Fe, she is a saint. However it is college and you will need to work for your grade. But I highly recommend her and i'm extremely picky!

She knows her stuff but you HAVE to come to class everyday..and on time. She is a hard grader. I would recommend this class to lovers of writing and reading, others may feel overwhelmed

Ms. Zoecklein's classes are NOT for those who want to coast through English. Her classes and topics are some of the hardest I have been to but if you can keep up with her hard grading and attendance policies it can be a very rewarding class. She is very passionate about what she teaches. And I learned and immense amount. Highly Recommend her.

I enjoyed her personality and helpful tips, yet did not succeed in her class. She is a very tough grader and when I went to her office she gave me advice, I followed through and still recieved a C on the paper. Her essay topics are dull. Liked her as a person...didnt enjoy te class, wouldnt take her again.

I had her for a poetry class in the fall o9 semester and she is wonderful. This is not a class you'll be able to just breeze through and get an easy grade. She is a fair grader, very helpful and LOVES her poetry class. Attendance is a must. She helped me with my poetry so much. She's just fabulous!

Ms. Zoecklien is amazing. I am a high school senior who decided to jump into college. I would equate the work demanded with that of a high school honors course. You have four essays and 3 tests. She just got rid of the final. Really understanding. You do have to go to class. Biggest thing: memorize the authora of the work. If you do, you'll pass.

She is the chips and the soda on the side...very easy to talk to, loves her work and helping her students. Overall she has a great personality and loves what she teaches. She is very clear with directions, she is genius. She tries to relate to students at an appropriate level. Shes awesome, sense of humor but firm. She supportive of u tooGREAT HELP

She expects good work and grades accordingly. there are no bird courses in college. i have recieved an A in her class so its not impossible. you will definately walk away from this class with a better knowledge of writing essays.

Professor Zoecklein is definitely the best instructor that I have ever had. She makes learning an interesting process, and she is very thorough in her explanations. She gives the best advice for essays and is willing to work with each and every student to help them reach their potential. It really isn't hard to get an A if u keep up with your work.

I took Zoecklein for 1101 and then decided to take her for 1102 as well. She is a wonderful teacher and she loves what she does. In order to pass the class go to all workshops. They aren't just busy work, they are there to help you. Also, participate in class and go to the writing lab. She really values someone who tries.

I had Zoecklein for both ENC 1101 and 1102. If you actually show up to do the workshops and listen to what she says, you'll get a good grade. She's willing to work for you and actually cares about you getting a good grade.

As long as you do all (and I mean all) the work in this call you will pass. But she is a tough grader. Her office hours are helpful for the essays. I wouldn't really recommend her though. But she is a pretty nice person, and reasonably helpful.

I had her for a poetry class and she was fantastic! Very into poetry and discussing it...I learned so much! She is a strict grader, but I made it out with a B+. She does like class participation, so speak up!

Very fair teacher and a sweetheart by nature. Did assign a lot of writing assignments but that is expected of an english composition class. I would recommend taking her for ENC1101. You have to not do work to fail her class.

Mrs.Z is a good teacher.Assigns a lot of writing assignments. Kind of tough when grading essays. Very particular in what she wants. Really helpful otherwise. Have to do all the work and attend class to have a passing grade.

I love Prof. ZOECKLEIN!! She is very nice and very clear on what you need to do and when it should be turned in. She has office hours and you can call too. I ran into a few times where I was home and didn't understand something regarding my essay, so I called her during hours and she helped me. She isn't hard if you do your work on time!

I had Prof Z for a hybrid class. I love her! She is a very kind-hearted person and wants everyone to do well. You have to do ALL of the work in order to pass. She is a bit harder but she helps you with whatever you need and is very fair when it comes to grades. She will give you what you deserve. Don't take if you are looking for an easy A.

She always gave a date to have a portion of your paper done do you didn't wait last minute to write the whole thing which I loved. I took Ms Z's Hybrid class. She's a great teacher if you care about writing and literature. If you don't, she's not for you. Personally, I loved her class. She cares about her students, and wants you to do well. As long as you do the reading and complete your assignments on time, you are going to do well.

This was my first college class since high school 7 years ago. I was very nervous esp being surrounded by students fresh out of high school. I tried my best & got an A. This class is not an easy A but she is a great teacher & cares about how you do in her class. She gives a lot of feedback so LISTEN to what she says & you will pass. Hybrid course.

Professor Z is SO passionate about what she teaches. She really challenges her students to adopt the writer's mindset. She takes participation VERY seriously -- if you miss more than three classes, you get a B for your participation grade, which is a big chunk of your overall grade. This class requires 100% of your attention.

She really cares about her students and stresses meeting with her one on one for anything you need. You do a lot of reading but nothing too hard. I take a hybrid class so I struggle with remembering to turn in assignments so GET A PLANNER. But I would take her class again without a doubt, she's solid.

3 essays, very easy. She should be harder on us but she gives Bs to slackers and Cs to people who submit 2 paragraphs. Citations mla it's basic guys. Shes good and makes you think. Group activites

Doesn't take it easy on slackers so be ready to read and write. Essays don't have to be long, just good. She wants rich content, new language, correct grammar (duh) and MLA formatting. Mrs. Zoecklein really slows down the writing process and makes you develop your ideas. There is no busy work assignments in this class. With that said, the few papers she requires have a huge impact on your grade. Overall a challenging course but a great teacher that will teach you how to get an A as long as you show up.

This professor is a very good professor and is very well at letting the students engage in the lecture rather than just lecturing the entire time. Though, if you do not participate or not show up to class, it will show.

There are four essays and a final. She is clear about the information you need to know to write a good essay, but she isn't good at explaining how to write the essays. If you want an A, you HAVE to go to class. Overall, the class is manageable to get an A, she is willing to help you learn if YOU show interest, and she is a TOUGH grader.

Amazing teacher! She is understanding, extremely passionate, and an all around sweet person. She cares about your learning and will help if you are struggling. Attendance is mandatory and there is a lot of group work. The readings are short and sweet and there usually isnt any other homework other than reading. Passionate and helpful teacher :)
