Dr. Ferron is a great professor. She will really help you if you are willing to learn. I strongly recommend her, she makes history interesting.

Professor Ferrons class was busy, but manageable. She was not difficult at all.

Her lectures are amazing and she is so quick to respond and very caring. She gives great feedback. My first essay was a 74 and she offered to allow the class to resubmit after reading her feedback. I did well on the discussion post and quizzes, but not great on the 3 essays and still managed an A. This was also a minimester class.

She is amazing and understanding! Her lectures and discussion post are all you need for the quizzes. I only used the book for the unit essays. I'd take her again, given the opportunity

For essays that she calls exams. Quote herb listen to her recorded lecture and she wants what she said to be what you put in your essay. For quizzes listen to her lecture again. For every other day or so discussion write whatever you want. I will make a high B possibly A after extra credit she gives for reviewing her class. But be prepared to work

I highly recommend taking Dr. Ferron for History 1301 and 1302! She cares. She uses power points. She gives you the information you need for quizzes. She expects you to read ! Great Professor Hands Down! Show up, Participate, and try :-).

She is one of the best teacher I had ever taken. She is a good grader. She is always there for her students. She even recorded the lectures within power-points, so we can listen to her voice. She always respond to the discussions. Also, she grade things fast. She is not like other teacher that delay in grading, she is very organized too.

Her essay prompts are EXTREMELY VAUAGE she doesn't give clear guidelines so I write what I think goes best with the prompt, then I got Bs and C on my essays. It seems to me that you have to write what she wants you to write or else you won't get an A on the essays. Granted this was a minimester but its A LOT of work. Make sure to get 100's on quiz.

Dr. Ferron is an amazing history professor. She gives amazing and detailed lectures that help prepare you for the tests. She always offers extra credit opportunities and is always extremely willing to help. This class is an easy A if you are willing to take part in the discussions and pay attention to her lectures.

Listen to the lectures to pass the quizzes. Discussions were easy for me to complete, you can either create your own thread or respond to a peer to get a grade. My only complaint is that her tests essays gets graded as if she was an english professor. She wants thesis, and great detailed essays. Expects too much on those. Other than that she's ok.

Dr. F is awesome. 10/10 loved her online class. If you want to learn some history, take her. I wouldnt say shes easy, but she cares

I loved dr. Ferron so much. I had her for 1301 and I wish I could have taken her for 1302. I really loved how passionate she is about teaching and her lectures are great. She keeps you interested in the lecture. We did have two books that we read in there. Its not hard at all. You read the assigned chapter before class then you have a discussion.

One of the best professors' I've had at Lone Star. As long as you read the required material and turn things in on time it's an easy A. She doesn't give a lot of work and replies back quickly to emails. She's very helpful and wants to see you succeed. Would definitely take her again!

This woman is such a kind, understanding, and patient person. As a teacher its important to treat your students with respect and she does just that. Extremely organized and involved. Ive never been confused because she includes a lot of detail & several methods of explanation. Not a fan of history but she definitely makes it enjoyable

She is an amazing teacher I took history 1301 and 1302 with her and passed both with A's. You will not regret taking her class. You have to read and participate but is nothing you cant handle.

Shes a very enthusiastic prof. Really does make history interesting. Buying a textbook isn't necessary, most books we had to read were available online for free, except one which was like a 12$ book. Took both In-person and online class (COVID-19), both classes were amazing, especially online. She provides all sources you may need for discussions.

She is by far the best professor I have ever had. She gives you many opportunities to get a good grade in her class as well as great feedback. I would recommend this professor to anybody. As long as you keep up with the lectures you will be good in the class.

LOVED TAKING HISTORY WITH DR. FERRON! She is well organized and gets back with you pretty quickly when it comes to assignments and such. She is very helpful and her work load isnt too much so you wont get too bogged down. Communication and participation are very important things when taking a course with Dr. Ferron, but she will help you pass.

Best teacher I've ever had

I took her 3 week mini, and it was super intense. Assignments were due every night by 11:30pm. She gives immediate feedback, Take notes on her video lectures, her quizzes come from lectures. Follow her instructions, she is very precise in her instructions for papers.

Just finished her minimester. She is so organized and super helpful. Shes really into writing, but she lets you improve your papers for a better grade. Not an easy A, but you can get a good grade If you work for it.

By far THE BEST online professor Ive ever had. Dr. Ferron actually provided video lectures for ever chapter which is something other professors dont. This factor helped me immensely! Dr. Ferron is super kind and sweet and is always willing to help. Clear grading criteria and pretty easy class. Just stay on top of things and youll do fine.

I have HATED every other history class that I have ever taken, but Dr. Ferron makes it so interesting. I really like that she focuses a lot on women and people of color. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A SIGN HERE IT IS--> TAKE HER!!! :)

Dr. Ferron's class was honestly amazing! There was 1-2 discussions every day and a quiz everyday, but it they were very easy! She really enjoys teaching and it is very apparent. As long as you follow her carefully set up course, its an easy A!

I never use this website, but I had such a positive experience with this professor. I was really nervous to be all online, but had no choice (covid). She communicates, answers emails, replies to every discussion post, and posted so many videos of herself. I felt I was in her classroom. Highly recommend.

Dr. Ferron is one of the best teachers I have had in my college path. She is willing to help you out, but you have to show her you are working for that grade. She expects you to read and involve in class discussions. I had a rough semester and she was understanding and worked with me to have a passing grade. I would definitely take a class again.

If you need to take History 1301 or 1302 then you have found the right professor. She is very helpful and does her best to make history interesting. Just make sure you do your part also. She expects you to read and write.

Ferron is an amazing professor, one who is clearly dedicated to her work. But if you are someone who is looking for an easy A and a very simple history class do not take her, everything she does is extra and she grades fairly harshly but is also understanding of little mess-ups. All in all, I recommend Ferron

She was amazing! made history fun and would really encourage you to go out of your bubble and explore the things you're interested in. If you take her online, you will get a 100 if you do the discussions as a video. Also if she ever gives a written assignment and says "if i were doing this i would talk about these" make sure you talk about it.

Best teacher Ive ever had! She truly is amazing! Just read the 2 books and you are set. Her class is super easy and a lot of fun! If you show her you care about the class youll have a wonderful time with her. She is truly just an all around great teacher and a must take

She gives too much work for a 5 week class. There was 15-20 discussions, 5-6 quizzes (Quizlet), and 5 essays. Majority of her work is due DAILY by 11:30PM. Be attentative and dedicated or you won't pass.

Dr. Ferron clearly loves History and enjoys sharing her passion with her students. I found the 3-week course to be very doable, despite my busy schedule. Now, I will warn you that it was work, mostly in the form of discussions and papers, and you will have to work for your grade. However, I'd consider her a fair grader.

Honestly my favorite professor. I loved that she presented different points of view and allowed us to form our own opinions about history. She is writing and discussion heavy, but she grades fast.

She is an angel and is so understanding! I see her passion for history and wanting to help students succeed! Better than some other history professor I had. You have to work for it though. Participate in the discussion and do the work! She is willing to help you with anything, so ask for help if you need it.

Dr. Ferron is a phenomenal and caring Professor. She is flexible with deadlines but I recommend that you Follow them otherwise a lot of work will sneak up on you. She replies to emails very fast and is always happy to help. 10/10

Dr. Ferron is an excellent professor who clearly enjoys teaching and making sure you understand everything. She is very accessible outside of class and answers emails within minutes sometimes. Workload is the usual for a history class, but nothing to worry about. I would recommend taking her for History 1... she's a 10/10.

As a fifteen year old dual credit student, I was nervous to take a 5 week history class. But Dr Ferron made it such a positive experience. She is so organized and helpful when you email her. She is by far the best teacher that I have ever had.

I absolutely love Dr. Ferron. You can tell she's very passionate about history and loves what she does. There is a lot of reading in the class, but as long as you try and participate you should do well in this class. She also gives out extra credit for participation. NO TESTS FOR ONLINE CLASSES, ESSAYS INTEAD. ONE QUIZ AFTER EVERY LECTURE, THEY ARE VERY EASY. DON'T THINK IT TWICE AND TAKE HER FOR HISTORY! AND SHE OFFERS EXTRA CREDIT ALL TIME!!

One of THE most amazing professors I have ever had! I took her for both history 1301 and 1302 and I don't regret it! The only thing I would say is her classes are heavy reading, especially 1302, so get ready to read! She had 2 group projects in 1302, and I'm a bit biased against group projects but it's OK. You can tell she has a passion for history

This professor does not give out 100 on anything. I enjoyed that she gave good feedback and she was pretty easy on grading. But I did not enjoy that she would insert her personal opinions into the lectures.

I hold Dr Ferron in the highest regard. She built a wonderful and open class environment despite a pandemic and an ice storm. She is an absolute gem.

Dr. F is a passionate & knowledgeable history instructor. Of my 5 classes at Lone Star, she is the best. She prepares students using video lectures and gives additional insight to supplement the readings. Be prepared to read, watch videos, & do discussions. I would recommend taking at least the 8-week class, 4 or 3-week are intense.

I took Dr. Ferron's 6 week summer course and while it was a lot of work, she made it very easy because of how passionate she was during the lectures and discussions. She makes class very engaging so get ready to participate. As long as you're following directions and the rubrics she gives out, you should be okay. Planning on taking her for 1302!

Dr. Ferron is an amazing teacher, her lectures are very informative and she is passionate about history. She makes her class fun and engaging. If you take her 6-week course, be prepared to read, do discussions, and take a quiz daily. She makes you work for your grade but as long as you follow her instructions you can make an A!

Doctor Ferron was amazing. She cares about her students and is willing to help you with anything. Quizzes are a bit specific but if you watch the lecture while you take the quiz you'll be fine. I loved her very much. The quizzes are lecture heavy and the discussions are based off of a lot of reading so be prepared, especially if you take the 5 week class like I did! Its a lot of work, but her passion for the subject and for her students makes you want to work for it. Im definitely taking her for 1302 next semester. Definitely take her!
