Ms. Lubbe is currently a grad student but she teaches with the clarity & rigor of an experienced professor. I enjoy her class so much because she is extremely thorough with her notes, is readily available thanks to her tech savvy skills, & completely prepares you for the 3 departmental tests. If she is an option for your future math class, TAKE HER
She is GREAT at explaining, very patient in answering questions, and very clear in what she says. YES take her if you wnat a better understanding of Calc 1
Take Her
Good prof. Much more clear than other math profs.
Very nice professor, tried to give all the options she could to help us all
Good individual, is in love with math and knows her stuff. However, she is a grad student and last minute opened a section for this class after not teaching for a while. She's confusing and jumps from topic to topic. If you took cal1 previously then maybe you will do well with her because I noticed people that have taken cal can answer herquestions
Good teacher and helps students get ready for each test and the final. Her labs are easy and she takes a week of class to review for each test. Very helpful and is flexible on homework.
She is good but teaches from slides.
Gives a lot of second chances to improve grade
AMAZING teacher. She is very sweet and will help anyone out. I emailed TONS of questions and she responds very quickly with a ton of help. It is not an easy class with alot of material but she is an awesome teacher. She doesn't require attendance but it helps to show up. Records EVERYTHING and posts online to review. Always trying to help. So nice.
She is the sweetest professor ever! Very helpful! Always jokes about silly things and tries to make her students happy. She would take a week before every test to review and would answer all of the questions you have and emails you send her. Also, after each exam, she would add extra points depending on how you did. Would definitely take her again!
She is the most helpful teacher you can ever get in a college. She gives her 100% and is always willing to help. However, she teaches from slides so you may not be able to learn the process of solving questions.
A very helpful teacher. She is someone to take in Calculus 1 if you do not have a calculus base. The only problem with her is that she teaches from slides which may be a problem trying to learn maths. A okay teacher if you have already have a calculus base.
She's very helpful especially since in maths, you need all the help you can get. And she teaches well. Just take her class seriously and its a easy A.
This class is insanely easy and the instructor is great! Attendance is taken during lectures, but I never showed up and passed the class with a 96. Lab Attendance is mandatory, and you need to reach 12 hours prior to each test. Everything is done online, and quizzes may be attempted twice. Really easy class, just don't fall behind!
She was an awesome Pre-Calc 1 professor! You only have 2 mid-terms & 1 final exam, but if you study hard from the Pearson MyMathLab homework, quizzes, and practice tests, you'll do fine. She teaches well & answers questions with better understanding of the material. I con't wait to have her for a higher math course. ^_^
Since everything's online, the grade you get is all up to you. She was super nice and helpful. Lectures were kinda long on a Monday morning but it's not too bad. I'd take her again for stats. I never used the textbook, but you definitely need the access code for MyLabsPlus
Alice Lubbe is always ready to help, though most of the work is dependent on you completing the online homeworkassignments. The exams are easy if you do all your homework. Attendance at labs and lecture is part of your grade, though if you do the rest of your work an A is still obtainable without it. She gives an opportunity for extra credit.
If you love math you will do great! She is awesome! She's sooo kind & helpful! She's the type that WANTS to see her students succeed. The book really helped. You have alot of online HW & quizzes that you must keep up with but it helps your grade. You have to work hard to pass but she really does help if you ask. Overall she's amazing!
Professor Lubbe is AWESOME!! She explains stats really good. You have 3 exams and a final but you can retake one exam. Make sure to do the Extra Credit Assignments ,they are worth 5 points each!!! Can improve your grade
Awesome teacher! This is coming from someone who also is not strong in math. She goes above and beyond to make sure you understand. Don't get behind on chapters and homework, you're setting yourself up for failure. Always answers questions and always clear, very personable.
Alice Lubbe is hand down the best professor in the Math Dept. as far as I'm concerned. I'm now in Calculus III. If it weren't for her I would not have made it this far. She is hyper organized. She puts everything including here class outline and notes on Blackboard. She definitely puts her students first - very noble cause in this day and age.
Enjoyed her lectures. Although they were kind of long, she's not boring. And during math labs, she is very helpful! Very nice and easy going. She also helps you understand the material! Everything is on mymathlabplus
Overall this class was manageable only if you kept up with the homework assignments. They help tremendously on preparing for Quizzes and Tests. Her lectures were long but worked out problems thoroughly and made note taking easy. Extra credit with attendance and answering correctly the Entry and Exit quizzes which aren't hard.
Prof Lubbe was very helpful and taught so students could understand. There is a lot of homework but it works in your advantage. When it came to the test I didn't even have to study and I am not a math wiz. She allows you to use notecards each test and lets you earn extra credit. I wish I could take her again because she was awesome. Take her!
She's really nice, easily the easiest professor for MATH 1315, I barely attendance class and got an A, she take attendance though
I'm not a math wiz but Mrs. Lubbe definitely made Stats easier to understand. Required math lab hours and class meets once a week but she always put videos and helpful tips online to help you succeed. lots of homework and quizzes but the info was on the tests. You can have notecards for the tests as well.
I took Professor Lubbe last semester and WOW! I've always hated math, probably because of my past teachers. She go over things clearly. SHE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT! Totally boosted up my grade. I would recommend! Definitely my favorite teacher from this school! She also has extra sessions for students to go over harder topics.
DO NOT TAKE! She makes the concepts so much harder to understand. It could be such a basic problem and she turns it too difficult and the way she talks is so annoying.
I'm not very good at math at all, I actually had to drop this class in the end. While this professor is very nice and helpful, her teaching style isn't the best for those who don't like math. She is fast-paced! Expect hard tests as well. However, if you must take this math make sure to take a section longer than 50 minutes.
Ms Lubbe is a great calculus professor. She does a great job explaining new concepts in the course. The only reason that the tests are tough are because they are departmental and the questions on the test are much tougher than anything on the homework. It's calculus, so you definitely need to attend the lectures and labs to do well in the course.
She is just great.
Took this class online so I wouldn't have to attend a lecture, and I made the right choice. She gives a lot of extra credit, so utilize it! She has extra assignments after each test and all you need to do with watch 10 max webcasts. My 96 at the end of the year jumped to a 99 after she put in the extra credit. finished with a strong A
If you can find another professor to take, do it. She is not helpful, lots of homework. I am not a great math student but I usually understand it but not with this class. Get out while you can.
Some Professors just don't get that your taking the class because it's required for your degree, not because you plan on being a finance major or math teacher. Did the extra credit, did all the assignments, did not do well on all the test and didn't feel like she really cared to help me.
She is a good person and is always willing to try to help but as a professor her lectures aren't that effective. You will do fine in the class if your mathematical base is strong and if you practise as well as do the homeworks. But do not depend on her for learning anything new, you will have to put your own effort.
Professor Lubbe herself is sweet. She gets side tracked or goes off on a tangent and for an hour class there simply isn't time and we rarely finished the material we needed to cover. This course should be listed as a hybrid as ALL your work is through MYLABS. Watch the videos prior to class, class should be used to clarify what confuses you.
Professor Lubbe is a good professor, however, during the grading of lab work , they are strict. She gives pop quizzes on the topics we just learn in class. Which I think did not really help in the learning of material as sometimes the content is confusing. But since all the lectures are online, it is not a must to attend the lectures.
Mrs Alice Lubbe is not only a great teacher but also a great person. She is always help you with your problems. You can contact her with email and she replies very soon. She makes the subject interesting and supports students in mastering its very details. Highly recommend her for Calculus. Personally this lady saved my one semester too!!
Professor Lubbe is an amazing person, but an average teacher. Honestly though, its not her fault. The class was all online based, so her lectures were basically pointless since she already has videos online. Just watch the videos online, do the homework, and keep up with deadlines. I wouldn't have even gone to class if it was not required.
Professor Lubbe posts videos with printable notes onto blackboard for every topic. As such, the textbook was not needed except for the access code. You have two tries for each quiz and the homework is not for a grade. Exams are about as hard as you would expect from stats but you can bring in a notecard worth of notes.
Mrs. Lubbe was probably one of my favorite professors so far. She really cares about her students and does a great job at preparing those who pay attention and put forth effort for exams.
Took this class online in Fall 2016. 3 major tests and Final. Extra credit can be earned by attending web classes. I watched many of them, some test questions will come from live webcasts, just changed amounts. Works though problems on webcast also. Can email also and ask about problems you may have on hw. Great teacher overall.
She is THE best. She goes above and beyond for her students. She went the extra mile to tutor me personally online too keep me from dropping the class and she was the reason I graduated in the Fall of 2016. Extra credit is offered and you get multiple attempts on the quiz pending 75% completion of the homework. Do yourself a favor, take STATS w/her
Taken Online. Actual text not required. Online course code required for quizzes and tests. She gives extra credit for showing up to her online webcasts. Always willing to work through any problem you ask about in the webcast. She will meet outside of class regularly and is quick to respond to emails. Completed online HW gives second try on quizzes
She is strict, but only because she actually cares that students are learning. She offers extra credit, even if you just attend the class. Good professor, easy class. As long as you watch her videos in Blackboard, you will be fine. Although lectures are not helpful, she takes attendance and gives bonus.
I think I could have done better in the class had I taken it in person versus online. Online was difficult because I had to teach myself half of the work that was to be done. It was very tough!
Great teacher, well prepared, and understandable.
Professor Lubbe is an awesome teacher. She explains things very well and is easy to understand. Meeting with her outside of class is very easy to do and she responds to emails pretty quick. I would definitely take her again if she taught calc 3. Text wasn't required but helped. With the free online homework new to UTA, it had our text in it.
Mrs. Lubbe is wonderful and so patient with her students. She was always accessible during lab times, and gave step by step instructions on how to solve problems. Her lectures and videos helped me understand the material. Stats isn't a easy class (for me, at least), but she made it easier. I wish more professors were caring like her.
Professor Lubbe is not only an outstanding teacher, but she is also a fantastic person to talk to. She definitely knows what she's doing and explains concepts clearly and concisely. She is very flexible with office hours. Homework was extremely helpful and is essential for mastering concepts. Would take again if she taught math higher than Calc 2.
I HATE statistics, math period. But Prof. Lubbe made this course as easy as possible for me. She allows you to bring a notecard when you're taking your exams, and the exams are almost identical to the homework.
Easiest math class ever. SO much extra credit through stats coins, I exempted the final! Tests have nearly identical questions from MyLabsPlus. I made an A on every test and ended with a 100.05 at the end of the semester. Also Mrs. Lubbe is the sweetest person! Her required lectures are kinda pointless cuz u can just do the loads of hw and pass.
Dr. Lubbe is an exceptional statistics teacher! Stats can be a difficult course, and there is LOTS of homework (tests, quizzes, homework assignments over every section covered in class). If you try your best to maintain a solid homework average and bank up on 'Stat Coins' that you can redeem at the end of the semester the class is an easy A/B.
I really wished that I tried harder in this class. There are loads of extra credit if you do not do well on the test. Although I struggled in this class, Lubbe was one of the best professors I ever had. Very quick to respond to emails and willing to meet with you in her office hours or after class. All work was done online, but she is very helpful!
attendance does count as a grade, approachable professor! easy A, she gives so many opportunities for extra credit so take advantage of them!
Lubbe is very good when it comes to grading, and she offers extra credit opportunities. Study plans are given for exams that aren't too hard if you follow the material given in lecture and do the online homework. Everything is clear and concise in the syllabus and schedule. She is a sweet woman who knows what she is talking about and is helpful.
if you're professional at being bad at math, look no further Ms. Lubbe can sure as heck help yah be good at it! just study and schtuff and you're all good.
Shes the sweetest person!!! Shes too kind, dont take advantage of that. There is quite a lot of homework but labs help a lot since shes right there ready to help with anything. If you do good on the first 4 exams, you dont even have to take the final!!!
Lubbe is an amazing professor. She is easily the best math professor I've ever had and I highly recommend her.
I naturally don't struggle in math, so this class was a breeze. Her lectures are boring but mandatory because of the attendance questions. Her exams are easy, just study the quizzes and write all vocabulary down on the notecard she allows you to bring. She Is very lenient in grading the short response on the exams. Lubbe is very kind.
Grading criteria is the same for other 1308 classes - Tests make up for 50% of your grade, while other categories such as HW/quizzes/attendance only equate to 5% of your final grade. Attendance is mandatory, typically about 1-2 HW assignments/wk (she assigns them before actually learning them and it's a great idea). She is very nice and means well.
So I'd definitely say take this professor and it'll be one of if not your easiest class ever. This class has a 1 hr 20 lecture once a week then the rest is lab. Lab is literally just time for you to do your homework and quizzes. You will have minimal work to do outside of this class. This is the class you can study 2 days before and get an A.
Professor Lubbe is really great! Especially if you just suck at math. Her lectures are easy to follow, and the tests aren't as bad as most online math tests.
I loved professor Lubbe! I took the 5 week summer class and it was super easy. I got an A(Im pretty good at math). The tests are easy and you get a notecard. Attendance mandatory. She also gives amazing extra credit;I didnt have to take the final, You can retake 1 test and add 5 bonus points to each test with stat coins. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
I really liked Lubbe's class. Lab attendance is come and go as you please, but not lectures. The homework is really easy, although the quizzes are tougher. The 2nd exam is the toughest one! She offers extra credit in the form of "Stats Coins" which you can 'spend' at the end of the semester to either retake an exam or completely skip the final.
She's an amazing professor!! Teaches by examples and that helps A LOT! She truly cares for your grade, and offers stat coins to redeem yourself. No question about it, take her! Take her! Take her! Easy A!
Professor Lubbe was a great professor to take if you have ever struggled with math. She'll help you understand and if you show up to lectures and labs you can easily get a B or A.
Professor Lubbe is a great professor. She always willing to help me with a problem whenever I needed help. Statistics is not really a hard subject. It's more of understanding the definitions and the formulas.
Lubbe is a great statistics professor, really gives student plenty of help on homework, videos for each lesson to review on own time, gives extra credit in form of stat coins. Honestly, just show up to lab hours and you will rarely have to do things outside of class. Rake up as many stats coins as you can, this will help (no final, bonus points)
She is the best math teacher I've ever had. She's so nice and is super willing to help when you are struggling. I got an A bc I made sure to get stat coins. I recommend going to all breakout sessions and doing the readiness hw to get coins, they really help you in the end. Make at least like 170 coins bc thats enough to use it for points on hw/test
pretty good calculus professor. if you are not understanding in class then you should consider going to office hours. STUDY FOR THE EXAMS. if this is your first time taking calculus and you do not study for the exams, then I can almost guarantee you will not pass the class because of how the exams are weighted.
She is a really nice professor. Lecture attendance is mandatory (has an attendance question at the end of class and you have to attend a certain amount of lectures to get credit for attendance) but you can go to labs whenever. If you go to her office hours to discuss the tests she will definitely help you out. Stat coins are a life saver
A solid choice as far as math profs go. Calc1 will always be difficult, especially at UTA, but she is a fair lecturer who is a great help you in the lab.
a literal sweetheart. ive always sucked at math but stats with lubbe was the best. she offers extra credit, multiple attempts on quizzes, and stat coins to help your final average. You get partial credit on every exam, just make sure to go to class to accumulate all of the attendance hours you need. She responds quickly by email and is considerate
Fine teacher but dont take stats for math if you struggle with math+sentences+judgement. She counts attendance on mylab randomly during lectures and right answers matter towards your grade. Need 12 lectures & 30 lab hrs, or get 0 for attendance grade. "Stats coins" extra credit, earn 75 & you dont have to take final exam. Tries to make jokes lol
I really enjoyed her class. As long as you do your work you should not have any homework or trouble getting an A. Very nice, always willing to help, and responds to emails very quickly!
Attendance & e-text are REQUIRED (at least 30 hours of lab/at least 11 lectures). Exams, quizzes and homework are taken online. On Exams, you're allowed: a 3''x 5'' index card, syllabus approved calculator/formula sheet & scratch paper. One Group Stats Inquiry Project and Presentation is given. Tons of opportunity for Stat Coins. No make up exams.
You have to go to class for attendance but doing the homework will help you the most on tests. She lets you use a notecard on the tests and you can earn stats coins to use as extra credit and replace the final. She is one of the nicest professors I've ever had and the class is not challenging as long as you do your homework.
Though one of my easier classes, this class had the most homework. Sometimes can take me up to 15 mins or up to an hour. Practice is well needed though. The HW questions are heavily reflected in the quiz/test questions. Easy A but tedious. STAT coins are extra credit and are easily earned- most simply by doing what she assigns
Really enjoyed her class. super easy to make an A. they do this thing called stat coins and you can cash them in to retake a test, skip the final, or replace a quiz grade, etc. 12 lectures are mandatory and 30 hrs of lab are also required. I feel like it's an easy A but you have to make sure you keep up with the work. I didn like the group project.
Professor Lubbe was amazing! I've always been god awful at math, but her lectures and the online homework setup (if you don't know how to do a question it will walk you through an example), this class was my best grade this semester. The extra credit system was great too, allows you to add points to test grades and then average those for your final
She gives you all the assignments and materials needed on canvas which made the class pretty straightforward. Plus you have at least 2 attempts for each assignment/quiz, so it's really easy to get an A. She is also very kind and helpful if you have any questions.
Alright so, Lubbe knows her stuff and is clearly passionate about math. My issue is, the class was taught is a large lecture hall of over 150 students and she never used her microphone. The work is overwhelming and impossible to keep up with unless you're super into math. Be prepared to work. I ended up dropping it when the COVID19 crisis happened.
I mean this rating isnt against her, shes a decent professor who knows her stuff however the math department is just incredibly strict and the class became online and it has actually become a disaster, because the information is a mess and they aren't understanding of the current circumstances which in incredibly frustrating.
its like they acted that the whole covid-19 chaos didnt affect the students and showed no empathy from converting a in person class to an online class
2020 covid-19, once we went to online classes, Lubbe was the LEAST understanding professor of them all. she did not accommodate for ANYTHING making this whole experience worse and stressful. I have an A in the class bc the work itself isn't hard but she is so unreasonable with this situation it has made this class DREADFUL. I hope she reads this.
Unbelievable... I mean are you kidding me? Since the Covid-19 pandemic, this class turned into a disaster. The entire department showed no empathy for the students and refused to accomodate for the class converting into an online platform. Taking MATH2425 was an utter disaster and I would advise anyone not to take this class here.
Amazing class overall. Even through Corona she has been very attentive to questions we have during lectures. 10/10 reccomended
professor lubbe is such an amazing professor. she is extremely caring, kind-hearted and the most understanding professor during everything we are currently facing. she is always willing to help and accommodate if needed. i seriously love how she has been toward my classmates and i. I highly suggest in taking her. if I had to, I definitely would!
Professor Lubbe is a very nice teacher and person, She takes extra care during lectures to make sure everyone who has questions gets them answered. Even though I had already taken this class in HS I still listened to the lectures because they were pretty interesting.
I'm horrible with math, but this professor made this class as bearable as she could. The subject matter gets heavy, but she gives many chances to redeem points you may have missed. Kind and quick to answer emails, especially if you come to her with a problem.
Professor Lubbe is truly a gem! She cares about her students and their success. Due to COVID-19 class was online, which made learning a little more tougher. However, Professor Lubbe is very understanding and she responds quickly if you ask her for help! If you are going to take Elementary Stats (MATH 1308) Professor Lubbe is the best!
I'm not good at math and I personally struggled in this class. Lubbe is a wonderful professor; she is so kind. Please attend every single lecture and study your butt off. The stats coins that she offers will literally save your grade; earn as MANY as you can!!! do not procrastinate!! I was close to getting a B but she didnt round it.
Professor Lubbe helped make the difficult subject of Calculus much more bearable, providing students with many other sources to learn from such as mathlabs or past exams. Her class goes very fast, so you'll miss a lot if you zone out for too long, but she always encourages and answers questions, prioritizing her students to ensure that they pass.
Good teacher who responds to questions during lecture. The homework is super crunchy and is basically 5 problems repeated but thats math for you. Understands the material and is usually easy to understand.
Prof Lubbe is super kind and funny. She helps ease this intimidating course with her upbeat personality. Well laid out course and instructions. Would highly recommend for calc 2 !!!
This class is very easy just try. Lectures are great but her canvas is full of these like 10 minute videos over every module and watching those before a lecture make it SO MUCH EASIER, I promise. Lubbe is great. She's nice and easily approachable. She also really tries to learn her students names so she's sweet! EC stat coins can save your grade 2!
Very helpful and nice professor. I honestly had a hard time with her lectures because her teaching method was not great for the way I learn so I found myself stop going to class and doing most of the studying on my own. She gives out a lot of resources.
Not only did she care about me as an individual, she made a huge change in the class to accommodate other individuals with the same issue that may have not spoken up. Also when I clearly had not finished my readiness work, she did not shame me at all, she just taught me the material. She is also hilarious in her words and mannerisms. Great person.
Cal 2 at UTA has departmental exams so exams will never get any easier no matter what professor you have. I will say that Lubbe is probably your best bet for Cal 2. She is understanding that students may not grasp the concepts right away and she tries her best to break things down to make them more understandable.
I hate math with a passion, but Professor Lubbe made taking a math class a lot easier. She posts lecture videos on Canvas. For labs she basically just lets us do our own thing, but will occasionally offer "breakout sessions" for extra credit. She also offers Stats Coins which can be redeemed. If you earn enough you can even exempt the final.
Online textbook that is included in tuition fees that gives insight on how to use statcrunch and excel but is not needed to pass. Professor Lubbe is well organized and her syllabus was really useful having all assignments descriptions and dates. There extra credit points that are easy to get and use, with options such as exempting the final exam.
Lubbe is a really sweet professor, and she definitely made Cal 1 a lot easier. She does go pretty fast through the notes at times, so be aware of that, and go through the online textbook for stuff you don't get down in class. Also, for the midterms, go through the past exams she posts online and you should be good to go.
2 midterms + 1 final, each with an absurd individual weight of overall grade. Overall, a nice professor who doesn't really rush and helps you understand the material. Lots of homework to do which helps you prepare for midterms, tho grade weight isn't worth that much, but DO THEM. Make sure to always prepare in advance for midterms.
Professor Lubbe is incredible and truly cares for each of her students. The amount of effort you put in will ultimately determine your grade, but there are also plenty of opportunities to bring it up. Stats coins are lifesavers so participate in lecture quizzes and breakout sessions to get as many as you can! Take advantage of MyLab to study!
Dr Lubbe gives great lectures and is probably your best bet for Calc 2 at UTA. Calc 2 is very difficult, but she covers all difficult concepts in her lectures and walks you through lots of examples. She will answer your questions well and isn't condescending at all. She'll help you with any advanced academic pursuits (like honors projects) as well.
Professor Lubbe is not one of the math professors that deserves a low rating. I am taking her elementary statistics class over a summer session and she is efficient, laid back and knows what she is teaching and how to teach it. Seriously one of the best college professors I've had at UTA! If you are able to take her for a math course, DO IT!!
Group project. I hate math with a passion, but she made it less miserable. She genuinely wants you to succeed. Responds to emails so quick. So appreciate of her. Take her please!!!!!
One of the best teachers I had this semester. Lots of homework, and take home quizzes. She will work with you and genuinely wants you to pass the class. Lectures are mandatory but really helpful. Her stats coins system is beautiful. Study for the tests because a lot of information is covered.
Great professor and passionate about her work. She gives a grace period as well. Easy professor but the subject material was not in my favor. Be sure to participate by going to the lab because she has group activities and also attend lectures- these will help earn stat coins. Stat coins will help out at the end of the semester.
Highly recommend. Her lectures are engaging, and she is ALWAYS open to questions, email or in-class. Lots of work tho, although she gives stat coins which you can use to not take the final. She is also caring and if you don't get the material, she really helps, and she has 100s of students. She's also open to creativity and not too rigid.
What I liked the most about professor Lubbe's class was her Stats Coins system she had in place. To get stats coins you have to answer questions, get good homework grades, etc. These coins can be used as quiz replacements, lecture replacements, and even get you out of the final exam. Her tests are pretty difficult so be sure you study the review!
Her lectures are engaging, and she is open to any questions, either in email or in-class. There is a lot of work in which include homework, quizzes, engaging lab activities, sip reports, and exams, although she does gives stat coins which you can use to trade in for attendance for lectures or labs, for retaking an exam, bringing up a grade, etc.
Professor Lubbe was really good! I was scared because math is a very hard subject for me but she did a good job teaching. She also walk around during lab and ready to help if you need it. There are 3 main units plus a readiness unit. 3 unit exams, 7 quizzes, 20 HW, 8 group lab activities, 2 induvial sip reports. Lots of ops for extra credit too.
You can see this professor really loves her job. Through out her class time she provides opportunities to ear stat coins (in short words these are like extra credit) these really help earn higher grades. She has her own way of doing things but as long as you pay attention it is great.
Take her for calculus if you can. She was always very caring and welcoming during lecture and office hours. She goes thru many examples and reviews a whole week in advance for midterms. She posts multiple worked out old exams that help to study and prepare for midterms.
Professor Lubbe's course is fairly easy as long you apply yourself and complete homework/study. She provides video notes for each topic so I found the lectures to be a little repetitive. Overall she is a kind and helpful professor that wants you to succeed.
Her stats class is mostly mandatory attendance until the end, creating a participative learning environment. However, it's worth noting that the study plans don't perfectly align with test content. The class offers valuable insights, but students should be prepared to supplement their learning for comprehensive exam coverage.
Professor Lubbe was a decent lecturer, though she was pretty monotone, but she was nice about answering questions and helping in labs. Calculus 2 is quite a hard class and I highly recommend using the practice tests to study for the midterms and final.
I took this course online with a different professor and failed but I decided to re-take it in person and I was able to get a B. Her stat coins extra credit system helped me get a good grade in her class and she was very accessible through her email outside of class. I can tell she genuinely knows what she is teaching, and cares for her students.
This professor provides plenty of extra credit opportunities. She isn't the best at teaching, but the book explains the concepts clearly. Also, the tests are in person, but they are online.
Good professor with a cute southern accent. The homework assignments take a long time. If you can go slow and steady, I would recommend it. However, if you do cram the homework until the last due date, start at least 3 days before its all due.
I loved her! The nature of the course requires a somewhat heavy course load, but Alice Lubbe does a great job of making it manageable.
Stats is just a difficult class with a lot of material to learn, she makes it easier for her students. Her lectures are good and she has good learning resources and materials. I would recommend taking this teacher, but you will have to work if you want a good grade. There are four exams, and multiple homework's a week as well as a sip report.
This professor truly cares about her students and tries her best to make difficult material much more approachable. Take every opportunity to earn "stats coins" as they will become helpful at the end of the semester. I definitely recommend taking her!
She is very kind and welcoming. There isn't a better professor to teach MATH 1308. The topics in this class are hard, but Dr. Lubbe makes them easy to understand. There are group assignments, but they aren't hard, so don't stress about them. This class can easily be an A if you put in the effort to study. I recommend attending lectures and labs.
Professor is caring to students and gives good feedback. There s quite a bit of HW but as long as you pay attention in class it will not be overwhelming.Giver good extra credit opportunities.Overall a very good teacher who is good at what they do and wants there students to succeed.
Mrs. Lubbe was the best professor I had all semester. I will say that you can't just attend lectures and expect to do good. I would recommend learning the material through her videos for individual units, and then coming to class for clarification. Overall, I would definitely recommend taking her!
Professor Lubbe makes the challenging stats class manageable. Her lectures are engaging, and the stat coins system helps boost grades. Unstuck study proved a useful study tool alongside the textbook.
I love love love professor Lubbe, she is caring and truly inspirational. For this course, you will have both lectures and labs(group activity in which you work on problems together). It provides a textbook but in my opinion as long as you watch the video and take notes you won't need it. Has one major paper towards the end.
Amazing Professor, difficult class if you don't put effort in. Quizzes and Exams will ruin your grade. Stat coins will be your best friend. It seems like there's no use for them, but wait until the end of the semester. Get those lab hours and attend every single lecture to get easy coins. You cannot get out of the final with coins though; removed.
She's very outgoing! This was her first year teaching this course so it kinda seemed like she was learning as we went along which would throw me off. She gives out a handful of homework usually due either Thursday or Sunday, but doing the notes will make things easier since quizzes/homeworks are online. Overall I'd say she makes the class easy!
I absolutely love taking her class, she is so funny there is a lot of homework but if you pay attention during the lecture you will have 0 issue. She also cares for her students and will always explain when needed. Sometimes she's a little to mathy when explaining but besides that she's the best:).
This teacher is amazing. She was able to explain math amazingly and very clearly. She rarely made mistakes and was very helpful when needed. She is very accessible after hours and definitely cares about the students. Best Calc I teacher.
There is a ton of homework every week but Dr. Lubbe makes sure you feel prepared for it in labs and lectures. She's very open to helping and answering questions so don't be afraid to talk to her. The work was hard for me, but she helped a lot.
Professor Lubbe is super caring for her students and wants them to succeed. She always made sure to post in-class examples on Teams and made sure to make herself available for her students. Take her for Calc 1 if you can!
