The grades are pretty much based on the test. Her tests are all written response, which sucks, and at times, she'll give those random questions which we haven't went over in class. She gives good lectures, and really enjoy teaching. Also very helpful.

my favorite science teacher; she's awesome so don't pay attention to the people that doesn't like her here. i never liked bio in the first place but her lectures and assignments are always entertaining, coloring isn't only for grade/high schoolers, but for us as well; plus it helps us a lot to get a better memorizing apprehension.

Alicia is a visual learner.. so she teaches visually (vs. someone who tells u to read a chap and test u on it), so that might explain the coloring. she's friendly and approachable.

Great Teacher

Anzaldo is all business. She doesn't play around. I like that. The coloring is understandable when you think about the fact that she is trying to spell things out for you to avoid any misinterpretation..YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELECTRONS AND PROTONS _ you need to "get it" to "get" other topics later...got it?

You kids, coloring diagrams and notes is a common practice in biology and chemistry note taking.....even in large Universities; expand your horizons, and have fun while learning accurately, not just memorizing......

She is a really thorough and patient professor. Her class is not hard, however, you have to work for your grade. She is not just gonna hand it to you. Plus her teaching style helps you retain what she is trying to reach you. She's great.

I personally think she is a great teacher. She makes sure you understand what you are learning instead of just memorizing. Most classes are tought straight out the book, but she teaches from her notes and extra handouts. She goes out of her way to make sure you understand. The Notes booklet whihc she supplied to us is also very very helpful.

Ms. Anzaldo is an excellent teacher. She is always willing to explain all facts over and over again. She is willing to spend time with you after class and before class (during office hours). Don't hestitate to take her class. You will leave her class with enough knowledge to move on and be prepared.

If you are going to take bio121, take it with her!! She explains material in a way that makes you understand it. Shes Very helpful and makes class interesting. Offers a good amount of extra credit too!

Lots of material to memorize, however she is very helpful. She gladly helps students that need assistance. Excellent teacher. One of the best in Wright College!

Maybe she's changed a lot from the look of these reviews, but when I took her class back in 03, she was the best science teacher I'd ever had. Everything was explained repeatedly with such clarity that I can still remember most of it. Just because she wakes you work for a god grade doesn't make her a bad teacher.

She is a great professor. She hands out notes that you will use throughout the class. As long as you understand the material you are in good shape. She is an awesome professor and is very helpful!

Excellent teacher, keeps you engaged throught out the class. You have to study for her test's but there is no question's on what to study she gives you all your notes. No reason not to pass her class. She has spiked my interest in my passion for biology. Thanks Anzaldo!!!

I had lots of personal issues this semester (new job, family illness, no babysitter). Anzaldo was always willing to help me out and was very understanding. I love biology because of her. This was my second time taking the course. First time with another teacher. It was like a whole different class!

Anzaldo is pretty much one the best profs I have had. She's organized, clear, patient. Don't buy the book...don't need it. She gives you all the notes and all you need to do well. I'm in anatomy class now with another prof..wish it were Anzaldo.

Don't take this teacher if you don't care about learning. Prof. Anzaldo is organized and very clear when she speaks. She emphasizes well enough for you to know what's really important. Follow the handouts she gives first day of class; that's what's on the test. DO NOT BUY BOOK! Pay attention and study and you'll get the grade you deserve.

I had the privilege of taking Professor Anzaldo's 121 Bio Class and 122 Bio Class. Professor A. is an outstanding teacher in my opinion. She is very hard but if you attend ever class and take all your notes you will pass her class just fine! She is helpful and an outstanding teacher! provides notes with fill in the blanks along the way to keep you paying attention. very smart. able to answer most questions. coloring pages. tries to help raise you grade as much as possible by curving test scores and giving extra credit. recommend reading the chapter before the test tho. environmentalist. I loved her class! =)

She is very organized and on time always. She gives alot of notes which are VERY helpful. Also,she rather have you come to her for tutoring rather than going to a tutor which i totally agree because I went to a tutor and they had no idea about the material.She is a brillant prof. Prof. Anzaldo is excellent! The exams are not easy but it helped me a lot later when I was working on my Bachelor's at NEIU. I admire her passion for nature, she was my true inspiration back in a fall, 2007. I wish I could take some classes with her in my Master program curriculum!

Great teacher! I actually enjoyed coming to her class. Theres a good amount of notes, but u dont use the book. You actually have a learn and know the material to pass her tests though. It's definetely not a blow off but i would definetely recemend her and definetely would take another class with her again. Shes also pretty cute too

I have used the notes from her class for two subsequent classes. She prepared me very well for other science classes. Clear lectures and provides notes outline. No need to buy or read book Attend class, do extra credit, study hard, and you'll do well.

She is a great teacher, took her this semester easy A. All the people who give bad comments, probally lazy and their grade reflects their lack of work. Greatest Bio teacher I ever had! Easy A if you just study her notes. Book is not required, all you need to do is show up to class. Take GOOD notes and nothing will be a surprise on the test. Very fun!! Slideshows, Movies, Coloring. Really active class! I still remember everything she taught me! By far best teacher! She knows her material VERY well!

This is a teacher that inspires! All you need to do is show up, review handouts/notes from class in order to get an A in this class. She presents the information so that you cant help but be both interested and to understand the material. Total asset to Wright College. You get a first class biology teacher that does a phenomenal job for a budget price. You will learn a lot of info and she makes it very easy to understand. The book is not needed, just take good notes and pay attention during class. She is fast pace and very energetic, and she truly cares about her students.

Anzaldo is an AMAZING professor. Everything she wants you to know she puts on transparencies, goes over them with you and helps you fill them out. The exams and tests/quizes are ALL based on the notes you take in class so be on time and follow along. She's really helpful and takes time to make sure everyone understands the material. Great professor, keeps the class at a good pace. Time flies when you are in class. Quizzes are not easy, so study and pay attention to what she focuses upon in lecture. Keep your focus and you will do well. Very organized and well spoken. Put the effort in and you will see the resuts in an A!

Ms. Anzaldo is an extremely helpful professor. I really enjoyed to study Biology because of Prof. Anzaldo. Her quizes and exames are not easy; therefor, you have to study hard for her exams. But don't worry because she explaines well before the exam. You DO NOT need to buy textbook.

Professor Anzaldo is a great asset to Wright College. I was scared of taking Science after so many years, and after taking her class, I began to love it! I would highly recommend her! I just finished taking Anzaldo for summer school. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better experience. She is organized, helpful, and clear with expectations. She gives you everything you need to do well in class. She made the summer fun & class flew by each night.

The best Bio teacher I had in a long time. She is very clear and makes it fun to learn. She doesn't mind if you joke around as long as you get your work done. The only downfall that she has is that she doesn't teach every bio class.

I am taking this prof. currently for BIO 122. She's the best bio teacher out there. She makes the class interesting, does not feel like the class is dragging. very helpful. if your taking a quiz and dont understand the question, just ask her to reword the question and literally she does. VERY NICE & FUNNY & HELPFUL!

This is a person who cares and will give you all the help you need. I would recommend her for anyone.Just do what she tells you to study and you will do great. If you don't, she always offers extra credit! Was a enjoyable class.

Prof anzaldo's class is possibly the best way to digest all the material in "Intro to Bio". Lots of classwork, but only 3 assignments to be done at home, plus studying. Labs, quizes, or exams every class. You stay busy, but its the best way to learn. Go to class, and write notes: it won't be hard. Political comments every once in a while.

She is my favorite professor at Wright! She is very organized and very clear as to what she wants from her students. Alot of material to cover but her organizational skills are exceptional! I learned alot and had fun doing so.

She wanted to be a vet before a teacher so some of her material is around animals and saving the world by recycling.She is fun in class and I am glad to say I only slept once due to a hangover. Anzaldo is really great with teaching and helping you understand the material.

She made it very easy to succeed and learn about the subject. She gives a detailed note packet, and copies of all slides used in the lectures so there is no excuse for doing poorly if you're motivated. Excellent teacher!

One of my favorite teachers! nothing was boring and there was always something for us to do; group work, video work, lab, etc. It was a fun class and it kept us busy. She is a very understanding professor because I had a difficult time recovering from a death in my family, and she gave me the confidence and motivation to persevere.

Great teacher!! I hate Biology and was scared as hell. With her help, with all of the assignments you can do really great. You have to be always in class cuz there is a lot of labs that help your grade. Tests are not so easy but if you pay attention and go through notes you can do really great.

AMAZING Teacher , Her explanations are fantastic. Her quizzes are a little tough but if you study the lecture notes and know them WELL you will do fine.DO EVERY SINGLE EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY SHE GIVES YOU (there is a reason her grades are never curved). Restless energy, unfettered passion. Anzaldo is what you want all your professors to be like. Quizzes make you think, but they are completely manageable if you study 1-3 hours prior. She can be a bit nit picky about seemingly arbitrary things, but Im sure she has a reason. I never synchronized with her though.. :/ Easy enough A if you study.

I have always struggled with Biology but with Anzaldo she makes it interesting and clear, I enjoy her lectures and her assignments, really makes you appreciate the subject and is a wonderful instructor! Best Bio Instructor thus far.

Prof. Anzaldo's class was well taught. She specializes in organismal biology and she has a passion for the environment and animals that comes across in her teaching. This course is easy if you show up and study for the weekly quizzes. There is no cumulative final either, but rather a lab practical. Highly recommended.

Incredibly straightforward. She provides outlines of her lectures that you fill in & the quiz material comes almost verbatim from those notes. Did not open the textbook once, shouldn't have spent the $. No cumulative final on lectures, just on lab work. SO willing to answer everyone's questions. Great teacher! Very helpful and engaging. Class is not easy though lots of work is given throughout the semester but almost all is classwork(labs). She also gives a good number of tests and quizzes, which can buffer your grade for the better or for the worst. Overall a great experience would recommend.

Great Bio teacher! She literally gives you the notes for each quiz on a silver platter. No exams, just quizzes for each section you have finished. PAY ATTENTION IN LECTURE, some things that she talks about arent notated on overhead and those are the questions that come up on the quizzes and also the handouts at the beginning of class. LOVED HER!

She's really organized, almost to the point where it seems rehearsed but hey it's not a bad thing. Lots of quizzes and oppourtunites for points. This class is definitely not a breeze but she makes it as straight forward and interesting as possible

Gotta show up to class every day. Show up, and you'll pass. Quizzes every week rather than tests which make the subject a lot easier since you only have to focus for each week's lecture. You'll learn a ton; she's very, very smart + passionate about the subject, and truly an inspirational professor.

First of all, she is the chairman of the Bio department and scientist . She is very organize , her quizzes are not multiple choice. Just come to class everyday and memorize the bio terminology and u get an easy A.

If you want to learn biology, this professor will teach you everything. This class was extremely challenging for me, but for my own benefit. You will need to commit and study vigorously if you want to pass with a A. She will gladly help you over email at any time of the day. Professor Anzaldo lectures are incredibly enjoyable. No tests! Only write-in quizzes throughout the semester that are usually based on 2 lectures. She writes notes and has power points. Colorings, labs, videos, creative projects were fun! "Your Inner Fish" book reading was fantastic and very helpful in understanding the process of evolution.

She was very great. I took her for a summer semester and made it very easy to understand the subject. She is also very nice and is patient when you don't understand something and need help. She is by far the best Bio 121 and 122 Professor within Wright. Every thing that is on the Quiz and Exams are within notes. All quizzes are free response so YOU HAVE TO STUDY! But the material is not difficult.

I am finishing my second class with her. I adored her and her lectures. Whenever I needed help, she was happy to help. Her quizzes and exams were tough but if you put in effort, you do well. She has prepared me to transfer to pharmacy school.

What a great professor! Very clear, direct, and to the point! Her quizzes and exams aren't at all difficult if you listened to the lectures. She gives multiple labs, and ample extra credit. She is an amazing prof, I loved the way she taught biology, but she did move quickly, if you missed a class if felt like you missed a whole lesson, expects you to take notes and review review review on your own. LOVED HER! I wish she taught BIO 226! She is so thorough with the material and with her expectations. In the spring we moved to online because of the virus. By far, she made the change the easiest and fairest of all of my classes. I was very thankful for her kindness and understanding. I missed her classroom lectures because hey were like watching the discovery channel.

Most of my classes have been taken online. This was by far the best class I have had. Each night we received real lectures through zoom with PowerPoint slides, notes, and videos. The lectures felt like she was telling stories even though it is hard core biology. I had a great summer with professor Anzaldo.

I just finished a "remote" class with her. OMG. What a surprise. Each day we logged on, she was waiting w/a welcome slide with some cute GIF or MEME with an animal. I literally started each night with a smile. The lectures were amazing. She flipped back and forth between PP slides and class notes. It kept me interested & I learned so much.

One of the best bio professors. If you miss a class, you will fall behind but other than that as long as you study you should ace all the quizzes/exams. Her classes are really interesting and fun. She assigns labs everyday. I'm not the best at science classes but she explains it very good. I totally recommend her.

Professor is very passionate about her subject field. Lectures align perfectly with quizzes and exams. Available to chat whenever. Provides ample resources and materials to study. If given enough time in advance, is flexible with due dates/deadlines. Highly recommend & would take again!

This was the best teacher i've had in a long time. She is so efficient, she's quick with updating grades and answering emails. She leaves great encouraging feedback as well. I was worried about taking Biology but she made the course interesting. Do the work you will get an A. there are alot of quizzes and homework assignments but they're doable!

Professor Anzaldo is passionate about Biology, and it was an amazing experience taking her class. The amount of homework is fair, I can tell that she had put in a lot of effort to make it enjoyable for us. The quizzes and tests were exactly like what she went over in class. As long as you pay attention and do homework, you will do fine in BIO 121.

I was dreading taking biology online because of the pandemic but Prof Anzaldo blew me away with her great lectures. Each one was like a mini documentary. You can tell she puts so much into every lecture. She inspired and encouraged my love for nature. My only negative is that the class had to end.

I had her for two classes (Biology 121 and 122). She was very sweet and was willing to meet outside of class. My only critique is that she gives a lot of homework and takes points off for simple mistakes.

There's a joke with students that she must be some sort of wizard (in a good way). I have never had an online teacher that graded work w/feedback and answered emails so quickly at virtually any time of day or night. She is also the most organized teacher I have ever had.

Enjoyed her class even though it was all online and had just one zoom meeting (three were optional if want to attend). Majority of the work is from the modules (every week), and the labs. If you do not procrastinate a lot you will easily get a good grade at her class. Just follow instructions. Also, the fastest grader ever with thorough feedback.

If you really want to learn and enjoy class, please take Professor Anzaldo. She is very organized, quick grader and she's always available outside of class. The way she lectures is fun and enjoyable. Just like someone mention below, it's like a mini documentary. You will love taking her class! Pay attention, review notes and you will do great!

I really enjoyed this class. She made the lectures so fun each day. The slides were awesome and it was obvious she was so passionate about life. I looked forward to logging on each day and the time flew by. There are many assignments each day but there is nothing impossible. I was sad to see the class end.

Professor Anzaldo is by far one the best college teachers I have had. Her lectures are easy to follow and go by so quickly. She was always helpful for me and very fast in responding by email. She was very kind in helping me with my work, especially during a hard time in my life. I will miss her.

I took Prof Anzaldo during the summer and the time just flew by. This class was easily one of my favorites and so much fun. I learned so much, even though we were in class by zoom. The lectures were awesome and she always had time for me after class. She was also very fast in grading all of our labs. I will miss the class!

FAB-U-LOUS! I have taken several online courses with CCC. This was by far the most organized and well run class. Professor regularly checked in on the class, actually graded our work, and gave lots of comments. She always included the cutest animal images and memes in her messages. I was terrified to take biology but I am so glad I took it with her

Most of my classes through city colleges have been online. This is the best experience I have had. Professor is always available and responds quickly to email and very organized. Her class announcements and emails always contain fun gifs and memes showing animals studying. I look for them each week,

Since the pandemic, I have taken all online classes. Professor Anzaldo is by far the best I have had. She responds to every email quickly and kindly. She grades everything within hours of us turning it in and she always sends us super cute and funny images and annimations. She encouraged me and kept me interested all semester long.

If you need to take an online class, take hers! She is very organized and an amazing communicator. She also grades your labs soon after you turn them in (with feedback!). My quickest returned grade was 6 minutes after I turned it in. If you make a mistake, she shows you where your skills are emerging, and gives you an example for next time.

Professor Anzaldo is a phenomenal, super-star teacher, and I highly recommend that anyone take her class. She holds high expectations but offers plenty of help for you to perform well in the course. One minus that I would like to point out is the Openstax textbook: it can be fairly confusing at times.

I was taking bio for the second time. This time I had Prof Anzaldo. Her class was nothing like my first time with another teacher. I couldn't believe how much easier it was to follow along and learn. She made the class enjoyable and actually taught us. I miss her and the class and this never happens for me! Thank you Prof Anzaldo!

Professor Anzaldo is amazing! As previous reviews have mentioned, she is very clear in her expectations and grades assignments (with feedback) almost instantly. Bonus points for the adorable memes she attaches to her e-mails!

I loved Professor Anzaldo! Her online class was the best. She was always available to help me and answer my questions and even scheduled zoom meetings with me. She always gave lots of feedback and comments on my lab work and was very positive when I was feeling overwhelmed. I am going t miss her!

Really great teacher. Will answer all emails and respond really really quickly. Homework is due every Sunday. As long as you complete the assignments, you will pass with an easy A.

I loved loved loved Professor Anzaldo. I looked forward to attending class each day and looked forward to her amazing lectures. Everything is explained super clearly and she makes it so easy to follow along. I changed my major to study biology because of her. She expects you to really work but she was always helping me when I needed it.

I was not looking forward to taking this class. I new it would be a lot of work and it was at night (I work during the day). But I LOVED her class! I am so glad I had her. She made class so interesting and so easy to learn. She gave us so many assignments that I had fun doing. The lectures were phenomenal. Take Anzaldo! You will not regret it.

Professor Anzaldo is probably the best teacher Ive had at Wright. Her lectures are always engaging & upbeat, she really cares that you understand the material. I wish she taught more courses so I can take her class again. I also like that she gives a weekly quiz instead of big exams and a midterm/final. Show up on time, participate, and youll pass!

This is the 1st online course I have taken in which the professor responded fast & gave feedback. My work was graded by the next day. She was always available by email & Zoom. She always sent cute memes & gifs with emails & class announcements. I am really appreciative that she wrote me a recommendation letter even though it was an online class.

OMG! Prof A is the absolute best. I love her. She is approachable and so nice. She went out of her way to help me with some struggles I was having. I looked forward to her lectures. I learned so much and had so much fun in her class. Do yourself a favor and take her class. You won't find better.

She's really good, I like her teaching. You will really enjoy her class. Just never take it for summer lol, spring or fall is best.

Best professor I've had so far. She is very clear about what she expects from her students. I loved how she would go over material that would be expected to be on quizzes/exams. She gives out extra credit throughout the semester so make sure to get it done. Her lectures genuinely intrigued me and made me excited to come to class.

I had Professor Anzaldo when I took Bio 121 this summer and she exceeded my expectations! She really cares about her students. Her lectures always kept me interested. She does guided notes with lectures which makes it clear what you need to know to pass exams. She is very responsive via email and so sweet. I'm so glad I took this class with her!

Best teacher you will ever have. Period. Extremely organized, straight forward, amazing lectures + notes, and fun labs. What more do you need? Additionally she's super caring, and will literally run to answer any questions. She allows the class to have fun and treats everyone with respect. I wish I could take her class again just for fun!

Best professor I ever had! She explains everything clearly and her teaching style is straightforward. She provides pre-designed notes, which are all you need to understand and prepare for her quizzes. There were no exams in my class, just weekly quizzes. She's a bit tough in grading, but she offers plenty of extra points. Highly recommend!

Not an easy course but taught in a way that success is obtainable for anyone willing to put in the work. Great professor.

LOVE THIS PROFESSOR!! this isn't an easy class but the way she has it structured makes it really manageable and easy to understand. Ive never had a professor that has pre-structured notes and it made studying for quizzes and tests super easy. Highly recommend professor Anzaldo!

Professor Anzaldo is an AMAZING professor!!!!!!! So incredibly happy I got her as a teacher for bio 121. She made the class and the material easy to learn and answered any questioned I had about anything. Her labs are always easy and engaging and overall I really enjoyed the class.

Most wonderful professor ever at Wright, and quite possibly in all my years in an educational setting. She is so caring and hands out a million extra credit opportunities. Unfortunately, this is her last year teaching, SO PLS TAKE HER IN SPRING 2026. Material is dense but the notes are everything on the quiz. Just study, and you'll be fine.
