interesting subject, go to class & take good note. might seem hard at times but she is a good professor. just get on her good side.

i personally think that she is one of the best professors around. she is really easy and expalins everthing really good. she is not very clear in her writing but very very good teacher.

This lady is such a sweetheart. There is a LOT of reading to do and information to learn, but i would take her again. If you show up to class and listen, and do the responses you will pass.

I loved Alicia's class. If you actually go to class, do the readings and responses you will get an A. One of the best classes I have ever taken.

More than a 100 class. Weekly reading, written assigmnts. She knows her subject very well. Sometimes though you felt like you were in high school, the way she "puts you on the spot" asking questions about the reading. But If you do the readings and attend class, you'll do well. Very organized.

THIS class and THIS professor is why you are in college! You learn so much and you gain such a great understanding for all the material. She made me so much more open minded. As long as you are not lazy, you will do fine in her class, she really wants you to learn.

All the studenst who have taken Ethnic studies are so mean to the professor that is why you are telling every1 to stay away from the Ms. Estrada she is a great person all u have to do is study and don't be lazy!!! she is really cool person. People at Csun are bunches of scardey cat to be in her class!!!!

She's a k0ol teacher. She's not the best but the people here are rating her too low. She's not that bad. The class is easy and her lectures are clear. The tests are easy, cuz she tells you what to expect. I recommend her.

If u want to lean about C. Amer. take this class. She is a great prof. The class is easy all u have to do is short weekly readings. Two papers and a final. This class is an easy A.

Prof. Estrada has high expectations of CSU students and unfortunately most can't hang. The material is excellent and well-rounded in terms of regional coverage, unlike other classes that only focus on one country.

She really challenges her students to think. She is a great professor, she knows what she is talking about. If you want an easy A you should not take her, but if you are here to learn and challenge your self just a bit I totally recommend her.

people are funny. they rate her bad cuz she expects you to read, know the material and pay attention. isn that why we are in college. this isnt an easy class, but not impossible. i got a B. Read, participate at least once a class, just so she doesnt forget you tried and you'll be fine. Assignments are easy, tests are easy.

She's a good teacher. As long as you do all the work you'll get the A. She's not picky or anything like that. She's very clear about what she want and what she expects from the students and the assignments. She's a k0ol teacher i recommend her.

For those of you interested in taking CAS 201, keep in mind that it is a Lit and Art class...so there will be a lot of reading. Her class is not impossible, nor is it too easy. All you have to do are the readings, one 5 page essay, and a final exam (which if you've read should be easy). Oh, and she's not mean, just passionate about the material.

For those of you who have never met her, she is EXTREMELY passionate about the CAS material. While some of the people here have figured that to make her mean, she's just personally connected to the material.In this class we had 10 quizzes based on that specific week's readings and one 10 page paper that she has you turn in increments.Good class.

She does come off as strict but she is very nice and if you are having trouble with something she is always available during her office hours to help. There is reading and quizzes but that is only so that students can better grasp the concepts. If you want to learn something about CAS take her. She'll inspire you.

Professor Estrada is amazing, and if you are not interested about Central American studies dont even bother in taking her ive taken couple of classes with her. READING IS A MUST she gives you like 8 or 10 quizzes the whole semester, and i got 10 in all of them, its possible to get an A if you are interested.

Plenty of negatives are said about Prof. Estrada and only some has merit. She does come off as strict, but is not unfriendly. Once you get to know her, you will love her warm personality. She is willing to help students who are struggling during her office hours. And While she may not be the easiest professor, you will learn plenty in her class.

SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER. MAKE SURE TO ANSWER QUESTION SIN CLASS AND PARTICIPATE TO GET ON HER GOOD SIDE. ONCE YOU ARE ON HER GOOD SIDE YOU ARE SET IN THE CLASS. Go to class, do the reading, do the term paper, participate a little and you'll pass the class. She helped me out a lot and is willing to sit down and talk outside of class if you need advice.

She is not as bad as everyone has rated her. I got a B. Mainly because her tests are relatively easy even though she grades hard.

Professor Estrada is a wonderful professor. She is a strict professor, but come on, this is a University for Gods sake. There are weekly readings assigned. The tests are easy if you have studied.I got a very good grade in this class because I did all my reading, participated, and made an effort to visit the professor in her office hours.

Amazing professor. Not only did she challenging me academically, her availability during office hours was of tremendous help in my development as a human being. She is difficult but well worth the state's money! I recommend this prof. to anyone who is indeed trying to learn!!

She's a pretty good teacher. As long as you show up and you're ready to pay attention you'll do good in the class. Her readings are super long... I didn't keep up towards the end, but I was still able to get an A on both the midterm and final. Just put effort into the class and you should do well. Show up, attendance helps with this class.

Midterm and final are online. one group project. Do the reading and study and you should be fine. She's a really sweet professor and she cares a lot about her students.

Took this class online and it is pretty easy. Her lectures are pretty long though. You can pass the class without listening to them. You will mostly just need the textbook for forum posts (need to use direct quotes) and tests. 2 forum posts, midterm, and final is what the class consists of. She gave 3 opportunities for extra credit.

This is the epitome of a class that EXPECTS you to do the readings. Estrada may require a lot from her students, but it's only because she cares. If you come to class every day and do all the readings, there is no reason you shouldn't pass. She genuinely cares about her students and is always there if you need help.

Good professor, pretty hard class and seriously tough grader on papers. Do the extra credit and do well on her tests and you'll be fine.

She's great! such sweet down to earth person. she's very knowledgable and knows what she's talking about! she's a great role model to us young women and she taught me a lot! you have three tough papers but she literally tells you exactly what to write. you must attend every class because if you miss one class it feels like you missed an entire week

Amazing! Point blank period. Midterm and Final were both online, not hard at all be sure that you take great notes so it can become much more easy. 1 group presentation, and a lot of lectures that she gives so be ready. The course itself is really interesting and gives you much to think about. Estrada is a phenomenal professor!

I loved professor Estrada. She was so passionate about what she's teaching. Basically, the class consists of one group presentation, the midterm and final. Those are the overall big grades in her class. Lectures are very interesting because of the way she knows her information. Take her if your on top of your stuff.

Great teacher!! She says you'll need the book but you really don't. The midterm and final are all on her lecture notes! She's caring, go visit her during office hours she'll make time for you.

Professor Estrada is actually a nice professor. She grades only 5 assignments throughout the semester. There is no homework beside a group project you must work on along with a auto bibliography. Please print rubric she is strict on that. There are only 5 assignments graded through semester mid term, finale, presentation, and two take home quizzes.

This professor was easy there is only 5 graded assignment. She says to buy her custom book that you have to get off campus. But don't all of her exams are on the notes she gives. She post her lectures and on canvas so you can copy the notes earlier or later. The only hw you have is a group project and each topic has a different deadline.

Very inspirational lecturer. You are graded on a syllabus quiz, midterm, final, presentation, and attendance. The midterm and final are taken online and they are easy because the answers are found in the PowerPoint lecture slides. Dont buy the book, you will not use it. 5 points of extra credit available at the end of the semester.

Professor Estrada was so knowledgable, inspirational and caring. This was my favorite course at CSUN. The assigned Chicana readings were excellent and her recorded lectures explained all the key terms while further explaining historical context. The quizzes and midterm rely on the readings. Make sure to read the material and take notes.

The readings are enjoyable and most are on Canvas. Lectures are short and to the point. She's very nice and approachable. Knows her stuff.

Good reading selections, books can be found online through library & on canvass. Gives feedback on papers. The reading are inspirational. She also has lecture videos to review. Dr. Estrada was available outside her office hour for me. She gave extra credit. Keep up with readings! She's a wonderful professor and encouraged me to go to grad school.

I enjoyed taking this class. Dr. Estrada is very inspirational and well prepared. She cares about her students and the Chicana/o community. If you want to learn about the Chicana/o community this is the right class. Even though there are a lot of readings I found them to be engaging, touching and inspirational. -Organized class and used of Canvas
