Alicia is a great instructor of Child Development. She worked hard and got her way through school as a single mother. She is a great role model and a great instructor.

She's an awesome professor!

She's an inspiration to her students. If you have questions, definitely ask her. The class is mostly lectures and she has great stories. Attendance is a major, but if you have a reasonable absence, she'll arrange something for you. You never use the book! Total inspiration and inspires me even more to want to be a teacher.

The best CD teacher at ELAC. She's really funny so it makes the class not boring. What ever ever she puts on the power point is whats on the test. the text book isn't really needed. Her lessons are very clear. Take her!

Wow this teacher is great. She's very positive and encourages you to do well. It is a easy class but you will gain alot of knowledge. Her tests are straight forward, straight from powerpoint. She also has alot of stories from personal experience. Highly recommend. This class gave me more confidence to pursue my education. Thank you!

Extremely easy and nice. She is one of the few teachers that are realistic, yet knows how to teach her students. Rarely ever gives out homework and tests/finals/quizzes are all from her notes. Super fun teacher!

Best teacher in child development

This professor really inspired me in many ways. The way she teaches is very unique. It is never boring in her class, she is hilarious. Attending class is a must, because without lectures, there's no way you can pass the test! so don't be lazy and always attend! I got an A.

I took this course on Fall 2013 and I got an "A". Miss Mendiola knows a lot about kids and very helpful, no hw just a lot of note, but they all helpful for the quiz. we don't have midterm and final. would definitely take her class again in the future.

I have never known a teacher who could break down concepts that are so difficult and make it seem so easy and relatable. Take her class! You will not be disappointed.

i took her cd 1 class for summer 2014 and she is honestly one of the best teacher ever. she is funny and very clear about the subject. all you have to do is show up EVERYDAY, takes notes, and study and you will pass with an A. book was a waste of money only needed once. don't buy book!

Make sure you do all the assignments in order to pass the class. She also gives extra credit as well which is always amazing if you miss an assignment or late on assignments it really helps you...

Awesome class. It is organized, all the points have been stated at the beginning. The teacher interview, classroom observation and education philosophy are very helpful. I used education philosophy to apply an opportunity right away. Additionally, Midterm and Final are closely based on class materials and study guide given. Fun ride.

Professor Mendiola is one of the best teachers at Elac. She helps her students get comfortable in class and her class is very fun. Her class is not difficult and in order to pass her exams you just need to go over the power points and you'll be good to go. Take her, she is very good at her field.

Everyone majoring in child development needs to take this professor. She will inspire you if you arent already inspired enough. She brings in inspirational speakers such as former students who took her classes and got their degrees. My favorite story was billy troung :) hearing stories like these give me a lot of hope to continue studying.

just two easy test in FALL. she is a very good professor! so nice and patient and helpful. it is the reason why her waiting list is so long! easy to get A if you join every class. cause almost every class has paperwork! she will tell you more information more than consoler in college!

She is an amazing professor. Very understanding and easy going. For you to get an A you must turn in work on time but if turned in late you loose some points not all. Took her for CD1 and CD2 and got an A for both.

Has a lot of extra credit. Really entertaining. This is a class where if your going to fail you have to try. As long as you take notes and pay attention and make the time to study you will know all info for the tests and final..

Miss. Mendiola is a very good teacher she is very focused in the class, she loves teaching CD and she projects that enthusiasm to us the students. The grade is based on class participation, two projects, and two exams midterm and final.

Ms. Mendiola is a funny professor. She shares lot of her funny story to the class, and I like it very much. Her lecture is good, what you need to do is following her and taking nots both from the ppt and the board. She explain he lecture well. Only midterm and final tests, and both of that is multiple choices. You will get A from her class!

Knowledgeable in the field, caring, & honest. In-class assignment each class, one research paper, 3 tests w/ study guides & 1 other major project. Book not needed, as she puts PPT on Canvas and uses lots of OEM. Easy grader as long as you give her what she asks for. Lots of stories and techniques to help you w/ children.

You just need to attend class in order to pass and also complete the assignment.

Ms. Mendiola is an AMAZING Professor! She really cares about her student's success and is there for us day in, and day out. Her patience and greatest act of optimism and her positive outlook is what we need in these times of trouble. I just want to let you all know that Ms. Mendiola is an asset to Elac.

Professor Mendiola is the most caring professor ever. I absolutely enjoyed her class. The material is very interesting. I purchased the online textbook access. Whenever I had questions, she kindly replied, but her class was pretty straightforward. Hoping I can take her again for a different course.

Prof. Mendiola was a great teacher, very good at explaining things in her lessons. just be sure to participate in the discussions and read the assigned chapters.

Ever though it was asynchronous, She was a total sweet heart. I think she was aware not many students were happy taking the course because its a requirement so made it easy & was easy to reach. The discussions get a bit personal & I didn't have the greatest up bringing so I appreciated her kind comments when grading.

Absolutely love this class! Nothing bad to say about this class. Do the work and turn it in on time and you're set! Super easy, easy A. You really do get to learn a lot and have absolutely no stress. PLEASE TAKE HER!

Honestly show up to class listen to the professor, do all of the work she gives. Her class is very easy to pass. I would not mind taking her class again.

Took her for Fall23 CD1 class she was super nice and we go over the PowerPoints for the week and she has a midterm and a final on the chapters. Also there's a report but its VERY easy and a child report also is easy- offers extra credit. Truly amazing take her for your first CD class. The only way you can fail the class is if you didn't even try!

I loved child development with professor Mendiola, she was so fun, amazing and caring. She made lectures fun, and enjoyable. I will say this class will be an easy A if you show up to class and do all of your work especially the big assignments. I would definitely recommend to take professor Mendiola.

Every day is lecture, with participation points. Only assignments are an online midterm + final, and 2 papers (pretty easy). Has lots of stories. Has personality. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't go you'll miss the participation points which matter a lot.

Shes so funny, and inspiring! I loved how she lectured I wish I took more classes with her. Only had like 1 or 2 test and all easy, assignments were easy. Final attendance was not mandatory! Lectures are available on canvas, id recommend her in person. Lots of hands on activities like arts n crafts.

Not a bad teacher at all, you might get bored at times. She can go off topic, sometimes, but its nothing too bad. There's only two tests, midterm and final, which she will give the option to take online or in person. You just need to show up to class, stay for role call and whatever participation she has for that day. Do your work, and you're good.

Professor Mendiola makes this class fun and engaging. Attend lectures, do the work, and you're guaranteed an easy A. The assignments are straightforward, and Unstuck study was super helpful for exam prep.

I had the pleasure of taking Professor CD45 twice—once in an in-person class and once online. Amazing instructor who is incredibly knowledgeable, inspirational, and genuinely cares about her students' success. If you stay on top of your work, you'll do well and earn an A. I would definitely recommend her!
