Although Dr. Mendoza is picky when it comes to your assignments, she is very knowledgeable. Give her a chance, I think she's great!

She doesn't believe in giving out A's. I got a B in her class and i was satisfied with that. Her class is boring, but if you follow the instructions given by her for every assignment you won't have a problem in her class. TRY TO STAY AWAKE.

When is she retiring?Does anyone know?This prof. was the worst I've ever had. Most of her assignments are based on her opinion and don't you dare confront her about that bc she has all the years of experience and she will let you know. Although she is help

OK... the truth is that she is STRICT, PATHETIC AT explaining the assingment; BUT if you read the syllabus you dont need to ask her anything. yes she is boring ... dont ask questions because it will just take more time!.... She made her own book now, so its a little easier then before. Hey it wasn't that hard because i got a B

She always seems upset and tends to talk down to her students. however, in reference to her assignments and passing the class: read the syllabus VERY CAREFULLY & you will do fine. She is very picky on how she wants things done, even down to spacing. i made sure i clearly understood what she wanted in each assignment and i got an A in the class.

She is a tough grader but much to what everyone saids she is a nice person to talk to. She is fair and listens to you. If you need help go to her office and she will try her harderst. Her assignments are detailed in the syllabus. Do no take notes b/c everything is in the book she wrote. She is a tough grader b/c she expects the best from us!

Her class is boring and she is extremely anal when it comes to grading. Read the syllabus very carefully and stick by it word for word, and you'll do fine. If your grammar is weak, make sure to get your papers checked beforehand because she includes grammar as part of her grading. Its not impossible to get an A, but don't expect one.

Super boring, mandatory attendance, she is a SUPER hard grader on all of your assignments (most of class gets a D+ to a C+ on written assignments. What she expects is all in the syllabus but she over does it on grading. Im an A student and fought for a C+ in the class as most other students. Tests are easy but its hard to do well on assignments

Yes she is helpful and very smart but she is a complete witch! It is super hard to get an A in her class or in any of the assignments. Her rubrics are the only way to do the assignments and she does not give you any chances to get a better grade on your assignments. I do not recommend her to anyone!!!!

I agree that she is very hard to please. I learned a lot in her classes because she is very savy about the issues in elementary, but I agree that she must update the info in the boook with examples from the 21st century. You have to work hard and please follow the syllabus.

She is not as bad as everyone makes her seem. Her tough grading can be used to an advantage: if you do EXACTLY what she asks for, then you can get an A. Word of advice: follow the rubric and check what she may deduct for before checking the requirements. There's no getting around this cl****, might as well try to enjoy it.

This class was NOT BAD.This professor is not as mean as everyone says. If you ask her for help during her office hours she is very pleasant and she responds to e-mails quickly. Make sure to avoid grammatical mistakes in your papers and you will be fine. FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS! She does not accept late work. The class is very structured.

She is not bad at all. She wants what she wants and its all in the syllabus. I did not mind her. The only thing is you may feel a little overwhelmed with the 48 page syllabus she goes over on the frist day, but really there is not so much work.

I had heard horrible things about this class and was dreading it, but really it's not that bad. There IS work that she wants her way and she is very picky on the way she wants it. With that said, the work itself is not that hard... just go to class, listen for material that will be on the midterm and final, and follow her syllabus!!!

I was scared to death to take her class! Yes, she is very picky about how she wants her assignments done, but everything is in the syllabus, step-by-step. If you follow the syllabus, you will be fine! She talks ALOT, and can be very boring, but really not that bad! I got an A- in her class.

It was very easy class! she may seem mean but she is clear in everything she wants! be happy she has a long syllabus! everyone else is just complaining! i got an A in the class and wished a lot more teachers explained their assignments like she does!

She is an excellent professor who outlines everything you have to do in the syllabus. Just she can be sarcastic and sometimes rude and mean, but don't take it personally and you'll be fine. She is actually kind of funny.

i just ended the semester with her. at first i was extremely intimidated & heard she was awfully hard. in reality she really isnt that bad. shes very clear as to what she wants & you just have to make sure to follow all the guidelines in the syllabus/ rubric. : p

Like the other review said, she is very anal. Do EXACTLY as she says and follow her syllabus like it's the bible. Everything she expects from you is in there. It's not a difficult class.

She is not so bad. She is a bit intimidating at first but she is not bad at all. Just follow her 54 page syllabus and you will be fine. Remember to use proper grammar and punctuation on everything you turn in.

PART 1: All the people who wrote neg. comments about Dr. Mendoza are probably lazy people who did not follow her very detailed syllabus or do all the work that was required for the class. I passed her class with an A! Believe me, if you follow everything she tells you, YOU WILL DO WELL IN HER CLASS.

SHe is insane on the amount of paper in her syllabus but trust me you definitely need every page because it explains exactly how to do her assignment and how she will grade them. I am taking Dr. Mendoza right now. She is very nice to me and takes class time to anwser questions that the class has about assignments or GK test. Very nice lade, lots of work but nothing hard, and is sarcastic at times but come on what old person isn't?

PART 1 - TREAT THE SYLLABUS LIKE THE BIBLE AND YOU WILL PASS! Easy work, easy tests (midterm and final - it's all in the book she wrote), and a really fast grader. I am taking her class now and have not gotten less than a B- on any assignment!

Dr. Mendoza inspired me to become a professor of early childhood education. Very knowledgeable and engaging.

I listened to so many students say that she was extremely hard but the TRUTH is if you slack you will do poorly. IF you follow the syllabus you will do great. She is very organized and expects you to be also. So far nothing less than a B+ on all assignments and exams.

This class is easy peasey. The catch is that you have to do all the easy work EXACTLY the way she wants you to do it. If you can follow her directions to a T, you will ace the class with no trouble.

This class will really test whether or not college is for you. Honestly, if you can't pass this class... You're an idiot! I absolutely loved Mendoza. She even helped with my teaches for EDG 3321. She is very particular and knows what she wants, and nothing less. Don't be lazy, the work is simple she is just picky. Make sure to be on top of your grammar and punctuation and verb tenses. She's the only teacher for this course so you don't have a choice.

Dr. Mendoza was great. She is funny and you learn a lot about the school systems. The hardest assignment is the classroom map. Very tedious, so begin the map as soon as you start the class. Just follow the syllabus to a "T" and you will do just fine. Easy "A":)

Dr. Mendoza is a great professor. To pass her class, you must not procrastinate. You must follow her syllabus to the "T," and you will be fine. Class very easy. Teacher puts extreme stress on grammar and punctuation. That is what hurts many students. Review of midterm and final are exact how the tests are. Very anal teacher. VERY. Dr.Mendoza is an easy teacher if you participate in class and follow the syllabus the entire time. She takes her class too seriously and if you lack grammar skills you are SOL. Talks off topic EVERY CLASS. She has been teaching since FIU opened and thinks she knows EVERYTHING.

I took classes in early childhood education from Dr. Mendoza. She piqued my interest and created a keen understanding in the field. I later became a professor or early childhood education and owe a debt of gratitude to her.

Whatever, she's old. She boasts about her superior memory and gifted learning skills yet she repeats her life stories every class. Attendance is mandatory, do all the assignments, which are ridiculously easy.

Well the famous Mendoza! I waited forever to take her but really shewasn't as bad as people make it seem. Just follow her syllabus its that darn easy. Every last thing is on there. If she wants 1-2 sentences why right more people? But yes impossible to get an A...I got a B.

Syllabus is crystal clear, and this class is very easy. She grades fairly. Most of the people who I saw get bad grades in this class were the ones who did not read the syllabus, or bother to proofread their work before turning it in. She corrects your grammar, and you turn into a better writer. Stop whining.

If you follow the syllabus and do exactly what she is I promise you'll pass. Obviously you need to have good writing skills but if you're taking this class it's to become a teacher and teachers need good writing skills...hello. I took this class online. It was incredibly easy! You simply have to put the effort and follow the directions precisely. I'm not sure how she is in person, but it was a breeze to complete her course online. I found her assignments to be clear and to the point.

There is no way of avoiding her. She is ALOT better than everyone makes her out to be. Just follow the syllabus and you will be fine. Professor Mendoza is not difficult. I took her online class for summer C. Everything you need to know for the course is in the syllabus, make it your best friend and you’ll do great. She provides the rubric for every assignment and tells you exactly what she wants. It’s pretty simple, definitely not as bad as everyone says it is. Fairly easy.

I had Professor Mendoza for Issues in Elem. I honestly loved the class. I wasn't a teacher's pet, but I wasn't walking into the class expecting the worst either. She's as tough about acceptable work as any professor should be. I found that people who couldn't write well were the ones who had problems with her. Otherwise, the work was really simple.
