awesome teacher! nice and easy to understand! everyone should take her class!
I asked for help and she totally blew me off...
Haven't had a test yet but lecture is awesome! Lots of information to share -- Learning a lot. Approachable as well.
Professor Stone is hysterical! Three hours fly by in her class. She's def. entertaining and her tests are not too bad either. I would def. take her again.
great! her class is fun and goes by before you know it. her exams are fair. shes tests right from her notes.
Absolutely one of the best professors I have had at Molloy. Explains concepts clearly, keeps you interested in class and you learn a lot! Tests are tough - you have to study. If you do, you do well in the class.
Great professor in terms of learning the material and making it interesting. Keeps classes light and funny. However, her tests do not reflect her notes...alot of material will show up on tests that were not discussed in class. Available for extra help, but not too helpful. She is also not always as sweet as she seems...can be very rude.
Very nice person. Tests are not that bad if you pay close attention in class because she makes some information sound like it's not important, but then it shows up on the exam. Easy to get along with and very helpful.
Prof. Stone is a good teacher. She has fair exams if you think logically. And she is funny with her stories in class that keeps you entertained.
Prof. Stone is great during her lectures, but her exams dont reflect her notes. Her tests are extremely hard!!! I dont recommend her to anyone especially for Nur 340 and 345. She is not as nice as she seems, not very helpful when you approach her. She can tell you everything will be fine but can screw you over at the end of the semester.
Prof. Stone is really nice, she is also fair when it comes to your assignments. She allows a one shot make up if you did not receive a good grade. Her test are basically from the notes(handouts) but you can receive questions from the corresponding chapter so READ the chapters and study.
Professor stone does makes the class very interesting, but her exams are hard.If you take her, make sure you apply critical thinking skills when answering her questions. You should also read read read. This class is nooooooooo joke, regardless to the fact its fun to go to
Prof. Stone is great in lecture, makes the class really fun, and interesting Assignments are a little ridiculous but she does let you do them over for a higher grade. Her tests are really hard! You have to really use your critical thinking skills.
Awesome professor. Very smart, funny, approachable and helpful. I loved her lectures - very funny and believe me you won't want to miss them. Take good notes and ask questions. The exams a bit hard but if you keep an open mind, study hard and use critical thinking you'll do well. After all it is a 300 level class - study!!!
Notes do not reflect the exam. Notes are vague. She smile in you face and tell you everything will be ok and screw you in the end. She does not give a clear outline for the exams she will tell you "everything is fair". I wouldn't recommend her. Teachers should help students not screw them over.
Dr. Stone's style of questioning for the tests will prep you for the NCLEX so be ready for not so straight forward questioning....however she is MORE than fair and MORE than clear. Listen and attend every lecture, read each chapter, and hand in your work on time! She is so knowledgeable and willing to share her experience. WONDERFUL PROFESSOR!
Her test questions are not very straight forward at all but they will prepare you for the NCLEX. Attendance is mandatory and if you are going to be late or not come to class she asks that you call her which seems like a bit much. It is in your best interest not to miss class because there is a lot of material that is not on the power points.
Very good professor. She's very fair with her grading and her projects are interesting and fun. Classes are long but her stories makes them go by with ease. She's funny, nice and is almost always available in her office... AMAZING!!!!!
One of my favorite professors. Her tests are hard, but they will prep you for the NCLEX. She is always there to help you out if you have a question in her office hours or via email. Sometimes you may get bored of all her stories, but those stories help you understand the information in the long run, which help you pass. Take her!!!!!
She makes the class laugh and fun, but can be insulting to people at times. her test are roughhh, and "prepare you for the nclex." No essays, just 2 projects.
Very nice and tries her best to make class interesting and funny. Her tests are hard, but help prepare you for the NCLEX. Pay attention class and study and you should be fine. Take her!
I still have no idea how to study for her exams. She can be rude and not very helpful when you go to her. Class is so boring but take notes to stay awake. So far we've only had one grade.
fantastic teacher! she tests you on what she taught in class. there aren't any surprises. you definitely have to study hard for an A, but it's very attainable.
Great professor!!! Funny, interesting and she has great nurse experience!!! Study and listen to what she has to say in class, and you will do fine.
She teaches to a point you understand the material very well, she uses stories and experiences which makes you remember. Her tests are not that easy but its straight from the material taught in class it helps with your NCLEX since most questions are NCLEX type! She is helpful, funny and very organized and prepared.
As nice as Professor Stone is, and as interesting as she might be. Her tests are GPA murder. I know shes aiming to ready everyone for the NCLEX, however a 100 level nursing class should not be more difficult then my 200 level nursing exams. I am an A student and this class just killed my GPA, you've been warned! Also, since she's also a student she's rarely in her office, good luck getting a past test reviewed!!!
I'M on the fence with her. personally, she come to class witha great attitude. she knows her stuff and you learn alot. BUT she takes way too much off her papers for spelling perfect paper had 2 spelling errors-got 93/100. next, left out two letters in a name unrelated to nursing-95/100. rest of rubric was perfect. WASNT AN ENLISH CLASS!
Amazing professor! Great personality and you can tell she really enjoys what she is teaching. I highly recommended taking her for any class. Put in the studying time and you will do great!
the best professor who will make you laugh in every class and the most interesting class ever! just study her notes and listen to her lectures and you should be fine. her questions are fair. just study!
All test questions from notes but you must know word for word. Study hard! Great teacher though very organized
Nice funny person but her power points are hard to study had to keep going back to text book to understand prob won't take her again
yeah funny, friendly blah blah blahh why dosent this lady stick to whats on the test?!! she rambles on and on about stories about herself that i think she makes up in her head. She is a hard grader This is the closest i have been to failing this far in nursing, shell meet with you, hug you and tell you her tests are not hard and they are!
Professor Stone is a very good professor. She is very fair and keeps the class interesting. Assignments are also nothing crazy at least for the level 1 nursing courses. I definitely recommend Professor Stone as she is a very nice person and that translates into her lectures.
She made the class so difficult. It was supposed to be an easy class , and she made it so hard. All her tests even the final paper was so difficult. Dont take her.It should be an easy "A" but thanks to her by the end of the semester all the students were stressing out.
All her tests sucks. By the end of the third test , I still had no idea how to answer the test questions. This class brought my grade down. She smiles and says that she is very lenient and her tests are easy, don't believe her. This was an easy class, but she made it the hardest class ever.Take some other Professor, don't take her.
The best Prof.
her lectures are interesting b/c her she makes it entertaining. take her for ob and you wont curse going to class! dont bother though. and dont bother bying the textbook. just buy the OB davis success test taking book and you will have your A
Shes nice, her first test was okay. way to much work for a one credit class
Good professor, very helpful. Wants you to pass.Funny lady
Great professor! A lot of work given for a 2 credit course but well paced (never felt pressed for time with projects). Tests make you think and apply knowledge, but they are fair (studying is required). She kept a class about nursing history, politics, ethics and practices interesting. Gives extra points for online blogs! Definitely recommend!
funny lady which makes class a lot more bearable but she does talk a lot. Pay very close attention she mentions a lot of exam questions during lecture. An A is possible if you study, especially her notes.
Professor Stone was a great teacher for nursing 129, her exams where hard but if you know all her notes and keep up with the homework and read the textbook and her notes, do all the projects on time you will love her class.
Her test are not easy but it's all based on her lecture, so if you pay attention and take good notes, you'll do great. I hardly used the book and she gives tons of extra credit which was awesome. She is really funny which keeps the almost 3 hour class go by quick. I look forward to taking Prof Stone in the future.
Lectures from PowerPoints. Wastes time with dumb stories about how she is always right, nurses are the best, and doctors/PAs etc are idiots. Doesn't answer emails. Can scoff at questions. Doesn't review. Tons of busy work you learn nothing from. Huge waste. Take someone else if you can.
She gives you everything you need for her tests. Great professor, she knows her stuff and gives stories to make it more understandable/interesting. I highly recommend her!
Tough. But if you study you will not suffer.
Definitely have to work for a good grade but you will enjoy her class! Her personality makes the material less boring. Extra points here and there for blogging and attending meetings. Would take again!
I loved her! She kept lectures entertaining and is very knowledgable about OB nursing. She tells many stories which are helpful. You definitely have to put in work in order to do well in this class. Invest in the OB Success book because she takes a lot of questions from there!
If you are passionate about nursing, then take Prof Stone. Lectures are informative, animated, practical, and engaging allowing the students to think critically. She is very approachable and cares for her students. Hence caring is an important aspect in nursing. Extra credit weekly. My favorite class this semester. Taking her again for NUR139.
An easy A if you put the time into studying and pay attention in class she tells you in class exactly what's on the test. If you don't show up and don't bother really studying you won't get an A. Gives 3 papers and blog posts every week for extra credit so it's really hard not to get an A.
She is amazing, best professor at Molloy. I would highly recommend her. She is kind, and class is enjoyable and interesting. If you have the opportunity to, make sure you take Stone's classes.
I don't think I could have ever imagined WANTING to go to class until I took her. She is so funny and you walk out knowing your stuff. I walked in knowing I don't want to do OB but she made the class fun and I ended up doing really well! You'll get all the maternity NCLEX questions right. Love her, would take again in a heartbeat!
My absolute favorite teacher at Molloy. She is always there to help you when needed.
Highly suggest to practice questions from Maternal and Newborn Success: (Davis's Success)
Stone was a great professor. I learned a lot in her class. Tests are generally easy. Make sure to read the textbook! Hard to study for tests but very straightforward questions.
She's awesome. Great lectures. Tests are straight from the notes that you print. You make up your grade by how much you study. It can be tricky, but she's preparing everyone for the NCLEX.
I love lectures!!!! You learn a lot but it is not overwhelming because of her delivery of the information in lecture. She is soooo funny. I laughed. She is extremely intelligent. Listen in class and take notes. Questions are from her powerpoints and lecture.
Professor Stone is by far my favorite teacher I've had a Molloy so far. She makes lectures go by so fast, and makes the material easy to learn. She makes the whole class laugh every time. Sit in the front, you will love her. Also, buy the Success book and practice those questions before tests! She gets tests back to you same day!
I had Professor Stone twice throughout my nursing courses and she made lectures so awesome to attend. She shares a lot of her past experiences and it helped me understand OB better. Time went by really fast in the class because her stories grabbed your attention, she's super funny and I didn't mind taking 8am classes with her. She's one of the best
Dr. Stone's class is very interesting and entertaining, but her tests have N-CLEX type questions. So, YOU HAVE TO START studying for the test from the first class. Don't wait last minute to study for her tests. If you start early, you will be in good shape. She also has discussion posts weekly, which is a grade booster. Also, two easy projects.
I love Professor stone but at the same time the class was not easy. You have to put a lot of time into studying and reading the chapters. Her tests are tricky and she doesn't review so you have to really work hard. Her exams is all critical thinking so really prepare for them. But overall, she keeps the class entertained, I loved all her stories!
Tests are pretty straight forward she doesn't trick you , power points are important and the case studies she gives you brings up your grade ! She's hilarious but the lectures are really boring
This woman makes you want to come to class. I've taken her twice and I cannot wait to take her for OB. She's not "easy," but she's fair and that's all you can ask for. Her tests will challenge you, but they are doable so long as you listen to her lectures, which are funny and entertaining. She understands her students, and is an incredible teacher.
Print out all power points ahead of time. Set up Binder! Take notes, attend class, purchase NCLEX book will do just fine. She is the best professor that Molloy has to offer. She is very knowledgable and easy to understand. She is very funny and also answers any questions you might have. Recording might help as well, I record and type up the lecture
Dr. Stone is by far the best professor I've had here at Molloy. She is so funny and makes coming to class twice a week enjoyable. She makes lecture interesting. Her tests are very fair. Buy the OB Success book and you will do well! Only thing is this is a half semester course so we have tests every other week! But Dr. Stone is the absolute best!!
Stone was the best and funniest teacher I've taken in nursing school. Her tests are not difficult at all, very straight forward. BUY THE MATERNAL AND NEWBORN SUCCESS BOOK, it's the reason you'll get an A. She's very approachable, especially for the pamphlet. She'll literally tell you what to write if you go to her. TAKE STONE!
Professor Stone is an AMAZING professor. She is very caring, takes time with her students and provides help when it is needed. She is very open to meeting with her students for help/advice and is always there to talk. She is very funny and makes lecture lots of fun. TAKE HER for OB!!
Dr. Stone is a nurse to emulate. Caring, professional, competent. and deserves admiration. Very pleasant to talk, gives beneficial advice how to success and become an experienced nurse. Provides useful, interesting material. Empathetic to students concerns. Gave memorable slides , lectures with a tons of excellent info. Straight to point. Incredibl
Stone is very understanding that the exams are hard. She also understands that the topics are boring but she tries to make it interesting with personal stories. Only downside is no information to review before the exam. Which means everything is fair game same for the final so its a lot of information to study because its broad info about it
Dr. Stone is a gem! 2 tests, a pamphlet, and discussions for a few chapters in the textbook. She taught in a way that I actually remembered the information. Learned so much in clinical. You have to put a decent amount of time in this class to read and review. Tests were fair, the final was difficult though. Gave you your red hot chili pepper!
Professor Stone is an awesome professor. She cares about her students and helps them in areas of difficulties by meeting with them personally to discuss the problems students are facing. She is very funny and makes lectures fun. Take her you wont regret it.
Dr. Stone is amazing. She is funny and tells stories which helps you understand the material and remember it. It's nursing, so its obviously not a walk in the park, but take notes on the powerpoints she gives, record her, and go and listen back. OB Success book is a big help too. TAKE HER! You put in the work, and you will learn a lot from her.
She's awesome. I learned so much from her! Just pay attention during lecture. Ask questions. She is very comfortable to talk to and very informative. Great professor. Would take her again if I could.
Good teacher but beware of projects the rubrics are not fair and will bring down your grade. Tests are specific and challenging but PowerPoints are helpful. You will work your butt off and at the end of the semester still wont be satisfied with your grade. Final is very weighted. Would take again. Be prepared to work forevery decimal of your grade
Do not take if you want an A. You wont get the grade you want even if you put in the effort. Projects and Final will destroy your grade. Nice person but too strict.
Do not buy the textbook. She only goes off of her slides and outlines. Tests do not match the material at all. She says the same stories over and over again. I don't know what to tell you to study, but only go off of what she provides. I wouldn't take her class again, ever.
Amazing proff. I got an A and put in work but people saying its impossible to get an A? Lazy. I never bought the textbook and just took notes in lecture and gave myself a week to study. Redo the paper/childrens book if you dont get 100 (gives points back)! Do blog posts for 6 points on lowest test! Honestly show up, pay attention A. TAKE HER!!
Dr. Stone makes you work for your grade. You wont pass her class if you memorize, you have to actually understand the material and apply it to the questions. Her stories help you understand the material but dont zone out and not pay attention because youll miss the important tidbits that show up on the exam.
Very funny. Makes lecture interesting. Tells lots of stories. Use OB Success practice questions-def helps for exams. Exams are 85% of your overall grade!! Dont mess up. Midterm was harder than the final
Sticks to power points, listen carefully bc everything she says will be on test, even minor things. Pay careful attention to when she emphasizes something too bc it 100% will be on test. Very easy weekly discussion questions to gain a few points on your grade. Makes class interesting, tells many funny stories, has a very animated voice
Listen to everything she says she gives examples that will help u on tests, follow her power points and what she says, read success book to practice questions extremely helpful. The more questions you do the better, It really helps. 2 exams, 1 final, 1 easy project & you don't have to present it. Other small assignments for extra pts.
Dr. Stone is a great nursing professor. I had her for 129 and I plan on taking her again for 139 and OB. She's hilarious and tells stories to make the material more interesting. Tests are directly from her powerpoints, did two small projects and one was interesting because we had to write a letter to a senator about a healthcare bill.
I actually enjoyed being in her class. She made it interesting and relatable. At the end of the day she is on your side if you put in the effort.
I LOVE Professor Stone. I am currently in her 129 class and she makes class so enjoyable. She always tells stories relating to the topic we are on and it helps to better understand the material. Study off her powerpoints and if she emphasizes something IT WILL be on the test! I would definitely take her again if I ever get the chance too!
She is the most down to earth person. She is a realist. She really wants you to know OB world very well cause its extremely different from other classes. She made me fall in love with the class. You really wont be bored cause she is the most funniest professor I ever met.
You will actually learn in this class with decently easy exams. Lectures are kept interesting and Dr. Stone is a very smart lady and great to learn from. I am disappointed i can't take her next semester bc her classes fill up fast!
Dr. Stone was the reason I was more sure of my decision to become a nurse. Listen to her lectures and make sure to study her notes every week! In this class, information adds on and the final is cumulative. She is super hilarious too. Make sure to do well on the tests and you'll be fine.
Professor stone is an amazing Professor!! She definitely prepares you for the upcoming courses. Tests are fair but you definitely have to study at least a week in advance (as for any test). Fair grader and gives you opportunities to re-do any papers you might have got a low grade on. Deff pay attention in class too, because her stories matter!
Amazing professor, makes her lectures interesting with funny stories, fair grader. How to get an A in her class: show up to class on time, record her lecture and listen to it at least a week before any test (little details matter), read and follow her grading rubric on the syllabus for papers. Exams are directly from her power points.
Stone is an amazing professor. You will definitely learn A LOT from her! RECORD her lectures! Make sure you listen to the recordings! Her stories are everything. Tests are comprehensive based, not memorization, so you must understand the material. Recorded and re-typed the lectures and got an A. Shes great, will definitely take her again in ob!
Her power points are super informative and she makes it very clear what she expects from you. She doesn't give review sheets but will stress certain things during lecture. Her tests are challenging but I totally doable. She has a no frills attitude which can make her offputting to some but she truly cares about her students success.
Take her ... u wont get bored in lectures. Record her. Everything she says is what u need to know. Success book helps. Used ati and text for clarification. Good grader for written assignment.
Listen. Record. Success book. Shes great
Amazing Professor
I LOVE PROFESSOR STONE! Take her! Shes the funniest professor Ive ever had and she truly cares about not only her profession but her students as well! I learned SO much from her. Her tests were a little hard and she didnt give review sheets, but just study the notes that she gives you from class! I cant wait to take her for 259!
great story teller. Not so much as an instructor. a sweetheart. I was always able to go to her office for any questions, or just to chat about clinical. As a professor, she did not give enough information about topics that would be sufficient for exam questions her multiple choice were from TB, short answer ques- DIFFICULT. Take her 4 peds prof
Dr. Stone is one of the best professors at Molloy. She is extremely knowledge funny and makes learning so much fun. As long as you do your work, you will do just fine. I wish I was able to take her again for another rn completion class.
I had Dr. Stone for Nur 359 over the summer and it was a horrible experience. She told our class to study from her notes and then gave us a midterm that had nothing to do with her notes. She spent way too much time telling irrelevant stories. Her test were unfair and she did not give credit for questions the majority of the class got wrong.
Dr. Stone is so knowledgable and enthusiastic about OB! She made the class so enjoyable, and I really learned so much in 8 weeks! The class is NOT an easy A, you really have to work hard, but it pays off. Study well in advance for the exams. OB Davis Success will be your best friend. And write down what she says in lecture. Would take her again!!!
Dr. Stone is a gem. You definitely have to work for your grade, but its extremely worth it in the end. The success book helps for sure but dont rely solely on it. I found that supplement the PP slides with textbook and ATI book reading and recording her lectures helped me a lot. Her lectures are also hilarious. Take her! Youll learn so much!!
I thought this class was going to be an easy A. NOPE. She is funny, but her test are very tricky. It mostly multiple choice, matchings, and short answers which I always struggled with. She is super nice in class but the few times I went to her office to review my exam that I failed, she was a bit bothered by it. I don't recommend her at all!
professor stone is an awsome story teller but not so much of a teacher. she is very sweet but she should just focus on given good lectures rather then talking about things that we do not care...
Dr Stone was really sweet and does not lie when she says to know everything on the powerpoint lectures. Don't miss a class because that material will be on the test, also read the rubric because she goes off of everything on it. Overall good teacher and entertaining.
Best professor for OB. She is straightforward with the content. The lectures are important for exam material. Stone makes lectures very enjoyable and class is a breeze. Study pp, ATI, success book, math and youll do great. 10/10, i wish she taught peds.
Professor stone is the funniest person Ive ever met. She is very knowledgeable and youll learn so much from her while also laughing hysterically. Definitely take her for OB!
Hands down the best professor ive ever had. She tells stories in class to keep it interesting and the stories help you remember the material. textbook is needed for discussions but the ati book is a better option when studying. record her, pay attention, use powerpoints and youll do great
She is a nice woman. She tells a lot of stories to try to make the class interesting. She was a good professor for 129 and if you can take her. Study directly from the slides. She also gives some extra credit at the end of tests just to be nice :)
Stone is a gem and the reason why I love Molloy ! Her lectures are amazing and her tests are hard but not impossible! She is truly so intelligent and willing to help her students in a heart beat! Her projects are fair and fun! 10/10 person and professor!!! She is one of a kind:)
I'm usually here to read reviews, I don't write them but I had to leave a review for her. She is an amazing professor and is really good with explaining concepts that stick to your brain easily. She's so kind and I wish we had more professors like her. I can't wait to take OB with her next year. Make sure to take notes in class!
One of the best professors I've taken a class with at Molloy. Take good notes and study powerpoints. Tests are very straight forward.
I took Stone for 129 and 359. Don't ask me why I decided to take her again. She rambles in class (have to teach yourself with the text). Completely unresponsive to any email you send her despite now being ONLINE. Tests are extremely difficult and does not curve. Seems like a nice lady but probably shouldn't be teaching. Class average was a 75.
Such a nice lady but rambles on way too much and her stories are NOT relevant to her tests.
Doesn't understand why she makes attendance mandatory. Rambles on and on and on and lectures don't even apply to her exams. I feel like she's purposely making us fail because our class average is C and w/ pandemic we're already stressed enough!!!! Questions she asks on exams are not NCLEX related and NOT undergraduate levels, more like DNP. Insane
Wow her tests are insanely hard. I studied her notes. I studied her PowerPoints and still I can't pass.
QuaratineReview: you would think prof. will be somewhat lenient because of what is going on but no. I am almost done with the semester therefore I will give my review in a few but one thing I will say is if you see yourself being in an LND nurse or even if you like a lot of information just to know then take her. Good Luck!
Mixed feelings about Dr. Stone. She's hilarious, and you learn a lot in her class. However, some of her test questions are not mentioned to her lectures. It takes me 3 weeks to study in order to pass and do well on her tests. NOT an easy A by any means, and by far one of the most stressful classes I have EVER taken. Be ready for sleepless nights!
I took stone during the pandemic and she was horrible. I was disappointed because i heard good things about her but she rambles on way too much. You have to teach yourself the content and even then the exams are SUPER HARD. I don't know where she gets her questions from because if she made it then you would think it would correlate to lecture
Dr. Stone is truly a very sweet woman. She cares about her students. Shes a great teacher, she does tend to tell a lot of stories during lecture, so expect to be in class for majority of the time, but she does give a break during class. Her tests are fair, some questions are a little tricky, but be sure to study her PowerPoints and youll be okay.
Stone is the best! I wish she taught more classes. Her lectures are informative and if you pay attention to detail you will have no problem. Everything on the test she goes over. She posts lectures on panopto. If you have good notes you will have no problem !!
She was my favorite professor this semester. She is really nice. Her test was straight from her notes. Just make sure you go to lecture- she loves to drop notes on what may be on the test.
Dr. Stone is nice professor and you will learn a lot when it comes to Ob. That being said her tests are not easy at all. They can be borderline unfair. Her teaching would fit more graduate level. You must pratice the Maternal Success Pdf questions. It's free online. know everything she says words for words.
Professor Stone is a gem. She's the absolute sweetest lady ever. Only thing I didn't really like about this course is how heavily exams were weighted. Exams make up 83% of your grade and there aren't that many questions per test meaning each question contributes directly to your final grade. Exams are hard as well. you need to know every detail
NUR359 was one of the hardest classes I have taken. However, Dr. Stone tells funny stories to engage w/the class. My best advice is to write down EVERYTHING she says in lectures and study her PPTs, rather than relying solely on the textbook. I got an A- but had to put blood, sweat and tears into it. Don't take her if you want an Easy A/light class.
Dr Stone is funny and very friendly professor, BUT don't be fooled by that! She was one of the toughest professors I've had so far and she will make you sweat for your passing grade. Her tests are difficult and she really likes multiple choice and filling ins. So be aware. If you want an easy A, Dr Stone is definitely not for you.
Dr. Stone is honestly a sweet heart but she's super tough. Literally write down EVERYTHING she says. Her lectures make studying easy but her exams are super hard. All her questions are pretty much critical thinking questions. I enjoy learning from her. But if you're really worried about your GPA, you might want to reconsider!
I HAD PROFESSOR STONE DURING COVID ONLINE AND I STUDIED HER POWERPOINTS ALOT AND REVIEWED DAILY YET AM STILL STRUGGLING TO PASS HER CLASS, HER TEST ARE VERY HARD, AND SHE DOES NO REVIEWS OR ANYTHING TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT YOU SHOULD STUDY FOR THE EXAM DONT TAKE HER IN MY OPINION!!
I genuinely liked her, this was a 3 hour class so it was still dreadful, but she makes it a bit fun. She gives great examples that help you remember concepts. Just be mindful her tests are HARD, they're more critical thinking than anything else, and definitely STUDY!!
I love this woman but her tests are hard. Most of her tests are based on her slides *cough cough* and some material is from textbook. She's pretty funny during her lectures but her tests make you work for a passing grade and the average for the first test was a C+ or B- .
Lectures are boring. Tests are way too difficult. The exam averages were always in the low 80s
She's very sweet!! However, I struggled a bit because of classes being online (I do way better in person) She gave extra credit for this course for 3 points on the lowest exam grade. She does get sidetrack but she tries her best to make the class interesting.
Shes great I love her, she has a story to everything and is really helpful. Only criticism is that her tests are really hard and u really have to study and apply what u know now just answer/definition. If she finds that ur trying and ur not doing that great shell give a bit of a curve and shell give u credit. Take GOOD notes and STUDY!!!
One of the hardest classes I've ever taken, throws random questions on the test definitely trying to trick you, and tells pointless stories that have nothing to do with the content. Your best bet is just re listening to her lectures over and over and doing practice questions in the maternal and newborn success book. Really have to put in the work.
I personally loved Dr. Stone. She's so smart, funny, and good at her job. Although, if you're seeking an easy A, she's not the professor for you. Be prepared to rewatch lectures and study her PPTs/notes thoroughly if you want to excel. She ONLY tests you on information she discusses in class, so if you pay attention, you'll do great.
Stone is a great person, she is passionate and is hilarious. Her class is HARD. I don't know if it was just me but I memorized her slides and rewatched her panoptos thousands of times and still barely passed her class. GO TO CLASS, get a tutor or study group and be prepared to study like crazy. ASK FOR HELP
Stone was a nice teacher but her tests were hard to study for. It wasn't clear what should be studied. She once said, "From the 5 powerpoints, make 10 questions from each and that will be your test basically". The only problem with that is that what she considers to be a question on the test, may not match what you think will be on a test.
Dr. Stone is well respected, sweet, relatable, hilarious, and smart. Easy? No, she's EXTREMELY difficult. It'll take more than her lectures to understand. It'll be online, books, tutors, etc., to fully grasp the content. Her exam focuses on application, so practice those types of questions. Expect to invest in this heavily, good luck.
Very knowledgeable and really wants you to succeed in your nursing school process and career but her tests are very very hard and you definitely have to study and work for your grade. Her tests are concept, application based and made to mimic the nclex. Use your notes & power points to make review sheets & pay attention to her coughs when in lect.
OB is NOT at all easy. In my opinion, this class was more difficult than med surge 1&2. Her exams are really hard, since she makes her own questions. Don't think about asking other friends for test questions because she makes her own questions for each class. She is funny during class which is good. But, a lot of what she says is irrelevant.
Dr. Stone is such an amazing professor. OB is not easy but Stone taught so well which made it easier. You do NOT need the textbook. The key to success in this class is to record her lectures and listen to legit every word she says. You can pass the class without opening the textbook. Take her!
Dr. Stone was a great professor. Her lectures were enjoyable and she told a lot of stories that apply to the material. I will say that her exams were challenging but if you put the work in you will hopefully do okay. Exam difficulty was pretty consistent. Make sure you focus on what she says during lecture. Overall, she is a solid choice.
She is a gem! Very funny and makes lecture entertaining. However, her exams are HARD! she will test you on everything including the most "nitty gritty" things that you probably skim through. You do need the textbook to answer the weekly discussions but not so much for the test. She makes her own questions :/ TBH, some will fail, others will strive
Stone is a very nice lady and her lectures are very interesting. However, her tests are extremely difficult and she does not give clear instructions on what she's putting on the test. You have to focus on every little thing she says to be prepared. I am usually an A/B+ student but this class was HARD. Be prepared to barely pass the class.
great professor & person. She is very smart and makes her lectures entertaining so they are not dreadful. Only negative I can say is that her exams are by far the hardest exams I've ever experienced so far in my 3rd year at this school. They are doable with hours and hours and days (even weeks) of effective studying. Overall a good choice.
Dr. Stone is a great and well respected professor at Molloy. While her OB exams may be challenging- it is known to not be an easy class no matter what professor you have. With that being said, you must put in the work! Use the textbook and go see her- she's always in her office! I failed the first exam and ended up passing the class! It's doable!
She is funny. Thats all i can genuinely say about her. Otherwise, her exams are brutal! She makes her own questions (expect fill-ins) on every exam. I passed but it was all because of other resources i had outside of her class. This class will make u question your capabilities in this program. Every OB class is hard but she is just DIFFICULT!
HORRIBLE teacher her tests don't match her power points at all. Test questions are so clinical and each choice is basically the same making it super difficult. If u have a meeting she just sugar coats it and says you will be fine. There's one project and a paper that she's a stickler ab. Takes FOREVER to respond to emails. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!
OB IS HARD! Point blank period. No matter the professor. However, stone just made it even more difficult by making up her own questions on her exams. Alot of content is discussed in this class so pay attention. No study guides whatsoever. Goodluck!
SIGN UP FOR A TUTOR AT THE BEGINNING Of THE SEMESTER. Dr. Stone is a wonderful professor, and this class definitely taught me how to manage my time and learn how to study EFFECTIVELY. Knowing everything on her slides will not give you a passing grade; you need to learn the inside and out of every topic she speaks about. I have only respect for her.
only relied on what she said in class and the ppt notes. record her lectures and combine them with the ppt notes. study those and then do practice questions from the test bank (she doesnt use them on the test but it helps understand the material better and is good practice). it really is not bad. SHE ACTUALLY TEACHES!
It's no secret Stone is a hard professor, especially in OB. I had her for 139 and 359 and her level of difficulty still applies lol. She WILL get into the most nitty gritty questions on her exams so REVIEW everything thoroughly. Expect fill-ins, SATA, new math type questions, matching ... on every exam. Alot of people failed this class, study hard.
Stone is by far one of the hardest professors I've ever taken in my 3 years. She is hilarious and very accessible outside of class. Her tests are by far the hardest I've ever taken. I failed the first exam but with hours, days, and weeks of studying I was able to do fairly well in the class. She is very doable but many people did fail. Be prepared.
Her lectures are straight forward & she always tells a story or encourages class discussions. Exams are mix of knowledge and critical thinking. If you're looking for an easy A- do not take this class because the work you put in is what you'll receive. One of the best professors I've had so far, can't wait to take her again for OB!!!
Fun, knowledgable, kind. Dr. Stone tells many stories to help you relate the material PAY ATTENTION TO THE STORIES Many times they reappear in the form of test questions. Do not rely only on her slides - you will NEED to also study NCLEX style review questions. Must put in the time. Sure, she's difficult but at least she's nice and funny
Very knowledgeable professor; engaging with funny stories. Exams are challenging, draws on prior knowledge. Record her lectures, I found it very helpful to listen to them to prep for exams. Exams are critical thinking based off of powerpoint/lecture content. No blueprints, you need to be familiar with all material. Exams have some fill-ins.
An absolute angel, I can't wait to take her again for Peds & OB. Put in the work & pay attention. Her lectures are really engaging and she's incredibly knowledgeable. It was also my first semester at Molloy and she went out of her way to say hi on campus, which really meant a lot.
Probably the best nursing professor there can be. Tests are online, all from powerpoints. Whenever she coughs, you know that text is gonna be on the test. Taking her for 1390 as well, def take her if you have the opportunity.
shes a great professor and tries to be entertaining with her lectures by telling stories but her exams are difficult even though they're online so you must study hard.
A very intelligent and knowledgable professor. Her teaching style and stories make you remember the content. She also explains things in a way that breaks down info so it is easier to understand. Overall learned a lot from her. Her tests are extremely challenging and she makes her questions herself. NO blueprint or guidance on what to study for.
Dr. Stone's class was the most difficult course I have taken in my program, I am accel. dual degree ( we take med surge I&II in one combined course). Lecture's are vital, you can NOT miss 1 class. She's personable & intelligent. Exams are BEYOND difficult. Critical thinking is needed. Study days before the exam and for many hours and you will pass.
Professor Stone is the best professor I have ever had. She is the only professor at Molloy that I feel cares about her students and wants success for them. Her lectures are very entertaining and she tells stories that really help on the exams, so pay attention! I would absolutely take her for every class if it were possible!
Stone's 359 OB course is VERY different than her freshman level courses. The material is SO difficult, her exams are some of the most challenging I have taken. You are now a junior and will be an RN in a year, this is no joke. Junior year is tough. Study super hard. Write down EVERYTHING she says. Record lecture. Practice questions. OVER PREPARE.
3 exams, final, 1 paper & 1 video assignment. Makes lectures very entertaining by telling a lot of stories, but sometimes I just wish she would get through the material and end class. Exams are not just based on memorizing info, but make you really critically think. I recorded lectures & listened to them a few times before exams and did very well.
Dr. Stone's class was difficult for me. I put in the work, but never got the grades I wanted on the exams. Her exams got really confusing for me. If you don't like your grade after exam 1, I encourage you to set a meeting with her to talk about it. She is easily accessible so don't wait too long.
She's such a good storyteller and it did help understand the lectures. But her tests had a lot to do with critical thinking so make sure you look over your notes. And look out for coughs.
Dr. Stone is by far one of the BEST professors I've ever had. She's hysterical and makes class fun and engaging. That being said, the class itself is anything but easy. Her tests require lots of studying and advanced critical thinking. Even if you're a straight-A student, you probably won't get those grades in her class. You will learn A LOT though
Professor Stone is funny and engaging. She knows her stuff and is one of the best professors at Molloy. She is definitely inspiring. Unfortunately, she does make her exams extra difficult and creates extremely tricky exam questions. This is the only reason that made me decide to not take her again.
Yes, she can be funny and tells a lot of stories but in my opinion too many stories that do not pertain to what we are learning. I don't think she knows the material as well as she wants us to know it, and she makes her test questions too hard for how she teaches. If she told stories and still taught us what we needed to know that'd be different.
Dr. Stone is one of the BEST professors! She is so kind and caring towards all her students and wants them to succeed. As long as you pay attention to her lectures and listen to her test hints, you will do amazing in this class. I would 100% take her again!
Makes her tests extremely difficult. For a 100 level course, its almost like she wants to see you fail. She tells a million stories and some dont even pertain to the material. She makes you feel dumb when you go to review with her and doesnt understand that it might be easy for her, but its difficult for students. Dont recommend. Take someone else!
just don't take her if you have the choice of other professors
I had stone for 1290 and if you have the choice not to take her don't. She lectures for the entire duration of the class and there are no study guides. She will tell you to just study the power points for everything but there is just too much information. Tests are very difficult for no reason. She also does not answer her emails!!
dont take her. her class is too hard for no reason and tests are impossible. take this class with another professor or else youll regret it
This class will forever give me PTSD from OB and L&D. I studied hard and her exams were so unnecessarily hard. I know RNs who took her and even said they almost failed. I know many ppl who failed her. I was so scared to fail I passed by recording her lecture and listen to it 10x a day. Those situations and stories will turn out to be test questions
Dr. Stone is nice and tells funny stories but her tests are hard. You need to know EVERYTHING! Theres 3 exams, discussions, and a project. Do the discussions and the project because it helps your grade! All I can say is record her lectures and do maternal and newborn success practice questions because some come up on the exam.
This class was by far the hardest class ive taken in nursing school so far. Stones tests are the most difficult tests with absolutely no review sheets or anything to go off of. She tells you to know everything and you MUST record her lectures and listen to them everyd I know so many people who failed, the school definitely keeps her to make money.
Stone is unnecessarily hard. You will go into studying exams blindly, go into exams blindly. She does not explain what is on exams, not even what to focus on. Then her exams are hard and I felt like this was purposely done. Funny stories and jokes are alright but when majority of students are struggling in your course, something should change
Dr. Stone's OB class is SO hard. If you're an A student, don't expect to get an A. Her test questions are some of the hardest I've seen so far. I don't find her particularly nice or funny either.
I wouldnt recommend her to my worst enemy. She is so challenging for no reason. For a 100 level class, she demands too much and has too high of expectations. No review sheet and expects you to retain every single thing that she says. She fills up lecture time with pointless stories. Dont take her.
Dr. Stone is AMAZING! She is a MUST take nursing professor at Molloy. She is so sweet and easy to talk to and really cares about the success of her students. Make sure to study her powerpoints!
I don't think the current ratings reflect who Dr. Stone really is. Her OB class was no harder than the previous nursing courses. Record her lectures, take good notes and you will succeed. Re-listen to the lectures and I guarantee you will do well on her exams. All exam content comes from slides/lecture.
You must record and re-listen to her lectures to do well in this class. A lot of the things that are on the exams are things not written on slides and were only verbalized in class. She's super knowledgeable and kind to students but her test questions are brutal (especially fetal heart strips and math) and she does a lot of SATA.
The sweetest professor ever. 2 very easy projects, discussions, 3 tests, + the final are all you are graded on, but it's so hard to do badly in this class. She gives you a very clear cough when something she goes over will be on the test & as long as you review the notes before the test you will do great. Had her for 1290 also & can't wait for OB!
The past rating on this are not at all accurate the the professor she actually is. I was terrified my first day of class and ended the year absolutely adoring Professor Stone. If you record her lectures and type out her slides plus annotations and study that, you will be just fine! Ive learned the most in this class then any other. Take her!!
Please for your mental health do not take her. This class absolutely destroyed me. This is the hardest class in nursing school and you must spend all your time studying for it. There is so much information and you must know everything. She does not care about her students but is somehow one of the only options to take
Don't listen to anyone else. Dr. Stone is AMAZING! If you truly have a passion for nursing and truly enjoy Labor & Delivery absolutely take her. 1,000% must record her lectures and keep listening to them in order to prepare for the exam. I personally would rewrite everything she said for a specific slide. If you have the chance take her.
I was so nervous going into Dr. Stone's class after reading the ratings, but it ended up being my favorite course I've taken so far. Dr. Stone is so caring and loves to crack jokes during her class. If you record her lecture in addition to reading the ppts, you will be just fine. Her tests are very fair as long as you put in the time and effort.
I think passing this course while having her as your professor deserves an award. She is very funny and I was always so interested each lecture. Record her lectures and listen to them over and over as well as writing down literally everything she says because she WILL ask it. Tests are very specific, final was the hardest for me. Fill-ins and SATA!
Okay this review is for all the students who study a good four days before a test and expect to get a B or higher, I need you to undertsand that taking this class with PEDS is far from easy, study a good 3-2.5 weeks before a test, record her lectures and write down ever little thing she says, her stories are relevent to test material as well.
As an A student I was afraid this was going to be where I failed and that was far from reality. OB is not easy but it's not impossible to get an A or pass. The exams aren't ones you can study for within a few days, they require studying for at least a week. I dont find Stone funny nor did I like her stories but her exams were fair.
This class was not easy. There are only 3 exams, including the final and little room to mess up. Understanding and retaining the info from exams 1&2, will make studying for the final less hectic. Critical thinking is a must on exams. If you take note of EVERYTHING she says in class, you'll understand her thought process. STUDY and you CAN make it.
Dr. Stone's class was one of my favorite courses! The lectures are interactive as she tells lots of stories! The course is heavy in material so don't expect to be able to study a few days before an exam! RECORD LECTURES and listen to them during any free time! Her tests are fair just put in the time and effort (critical thinking based questions)
Professor Stone's class was challenging but rewarding. Attending every lecture, recording them, and using resources like Unstuck AI helped me ace the exams. Her teaching style is engaging, and her stories are relevant to the material.
I don't think Stone deserves the bad ratings she has. I guarantee you her exams are word for word what she says in lecture. Her exams cannot be crammed for, allow yourself at least 1 wk of studying prior. I learned and retained the most from her OB class. Record lectures & relisten. I don't mean just once. Relisten multiple times and you'll excel.
she was a fair professor and would hint in lectures what you should definitely know, so if she repeated something more than once, def know it. she was an awesome professor and her lectures followed the exam
only professor that I can listen to talk for hours. Her exam questions come from exactly what she says in class so record her lectures!
I absolutely loved professor Stone. I would take her again and I recommend her! Her lectures are enough to prepare you for the exams. She does a great job helping you remember the content. Her tests are very challenging, but her class is very doable as long as you study.
Dr. Stone is an awesome professor. No study guide is given so it can be difficult to know what to study for without feeling overwhelmed but her lectures were really informative & she always told stories that went along with the lecture. She'll give a little cough if a slide will be on the exam. I enjoyed her class & i'd definitely take her again.
Professor Stone is a sweet and hilarious professor. I enjoyed going to her 8am lectures. She gives a little "cough" when something is going to be on the exam. Her exams are mainly critical thinking so study hard and do practice critical thinking questions.
okay so here's the story. Stone is a very good lecture professor but her exams are WRETCHED! She is TRICKY, her exams are NOT WORDED FAIRLY and it is an absolute STRUGGLE each and every test. She will find the smallest detail; it really takes EVERYTHING YOU HAVE to pass this class. Study so HARD and REALLY GET READY! ITS NOT EASY!!
I loved Professor Stone's class. She is so sweet. Her exams are challenging, and she focuses on little details but if you study you will be fine. Her lectures are hilarious and easy to follow. I wish I could take her for all of my nursing classes. She gives hints on what she will ask on exams.
Dr. Stone is truly cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. Her exams are thought provoking but pay attention to what she says and answer the questions based on what she teaches and not what you saw in clinical, and you will be fine. Try are best and always stick to the first answer that comes to mind.
This professor will make your “final stretch” of nursing miserable. Although she's funny and makes lectures entertaining, her tests are meant to weed you out. They're overly tricky and you're tested on information that is seemingly irrelevant. She claims to be generous with exams but she will not give back points or even sympathize with failure
bro i just took her first exam after studying for weeks. First time failing a nursing exam in so long. She goes on in class about being an ashkenazi jew like gurrr we dont care. 37 QUESTION TEST??? are we deaduzz rn. all select that apply? so unfair.
When I say you will learn so much in this woman's class.. she is absolutely amazing!! OB is hard especially after so many years of med surg, but she makes you learn and understand. Never knew I'd like it so much. Study atleast 3 weeks before exam and listen to lectures! :)
Professor Stone is such an amazing lecturer. Her exams are challenging and require you to think but I would say that they were pretty fair overall. Make sure you record her lectures and study the powerpoints as well as what she says. You will learn A LOT from her, trust me. I really loved this class.
shes amazing. i learned SO MUCH! shes def tough and you need to put in the WORK. if you do, you will be more than fine. lectures are long but not terrible, gives a break and is super funny. She definitely weeds out people but i think thats how youll learn if this is meant for you. shes just amazing. i cannot wait to take her for OB. so intellectual
Write down everything she says and study everything! she loves to quiz on tiny notes u maybe missed. Shes tough but shes a great professor and tests got easier over time. funny lady
I LOVE DR. STONE! She is so funny and tries to make lecture fun. Lectures are long but she is so interesting and you can tell she absolutely loves her job. She is so accessible after class and genuinely cares so much for every student. Tests are hard but if you put in the study time, you will do fine. 1 project, 1 paper, 3 tests including the final
very nice but her lectures make me fall asleep, she tries to make it funny but this class is so boring, i end up doing other work in class. she coughs whenever something shes going over is on the test. they are very difficult so dedicate lots of time to study, only 2 assignments and 2 tests 1 final.
She is very funny i have taken her for various courses and love her, but i would say you have to study and take notes especially on her coughs record lectures so you can go back and listen this always helps!!!
Amazing lecturer, she is very engaging in class. However, I'd say that you definitely have to supplement the lectures with outside material, whether that's the textbook or another source. Those are what will teach you how to answer OB test questions correctly. Tests are difficult and questions are tricky and include information not said in lecture.
tests are sooooo lecture heavy. doesn't give any study guides are really any help on what to study. gives hints during lecture on what might be on the tests but u really just need to study EVERYTHING for her exams. really funny though and gave easy projects and an easy grader. doesn't really grade until the end
Doesn't give a focused review for each exam and you basically have to cram everything you learn even the tiniest details she says in class. Exams are very difficult (40 questions) and she gives fill in questions. There is textbook hw for the weekly discussions which the way she set it up is so disorganized. She also does not answer emails at all.
Please take someone else her test are complex and they are nothing like the oldies
I really love professor Stone. Her lectures are story based so you can really understand what the slides are saying. She coughs when it will be on the test. Her testing is all online and a bit tough, but overall is a great teacher
shes super nice trys to make class relatable to us but SUPER long lectures keeps you till the very last min even after tests..., not many assignments uses proctorio tests based of slide shows pretty straightforward teacher would take again
Absolutely take her!!! Honestly one of the best nursing professors and she felt like a breath of fresh air. She makes each lecture digestible and doesn't make you cram for her exams unlike some professors *cough* stone. She gives an outline for each exam and no surprises. She's very clear with her grading and as long as you do it, its an easy 100.
RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS HORIZON!!!!!! SOCIAL DISTANCE YOURSELF. SHE'S GOING TO COUGH. this professor was just horrible, lectures were so boring and test were hard af
Honestly she goes of topic and her test are nothing like the slides you have to make your own notes
She's such a sweet lady and has a good sense of humor too. Her test questions are mainly common sense. The class material itself is really easy but her lectures are a bit dragged out. Overall a very easy class to pass if you take notes and pay attention in class.
