Dr. Walker is friggin awesome. If you got to her office she will talk with you about anything and help with any and all questions.

This is the best class of my college career. She is way funny. Every class you'll laugh, but you also learn stuff. She's very willing to answer questions and give guidance. If you go to her office, she'll help with anything she can. Even taught me how to score better on quizzes. Don't hesitate to take her class.

She is AMAZING. She makes class enjoyable and interesting. Gets the class involved and connects the lessons to everyday life. Very helpful, can go or text her for any type of help! Trying to get another class with her as the professor. Would recommend.

I absolutely loved Dr. Walker! She was so helpful, kind, and she really did care about her students! Her lectures were amazing! She always had us laughing! There wasn't a terrible amount of homework. You have to read a chapter each week and take a quiz over them every Monday. She only assigned 2 papers. Gave lots of extra credit! Would take again!!

I love Dr. Walker. She gave so much extra credit, quizzes were easy. Two papers and two big tests. On top of that, lecture was so fun and didn't really seem like a lecture. She takes the time to get to know you, and she respects you. Best professor I will probably ever have. Take this class!! You will not regret it!!

Dr. Walker is a fantastic professor that genuinely cares about her students. She is passionate about her work and is wonderful at not only explaining the material, but making the class fun. Definitely one of the greatest classes I have ever been a part of.

Dr. Walker has been my favorite professor so far. Her lectures were fun and interesting. She was funny and passionate about teaching. Dr. Walker was very fair in her grading and gave lots of opportunities for extra credit. This was the first class that I have taken that I actually looked forward to going to. A must-take in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this class a lot. All of the lectures were very interesting. She would tell us to stop writing and just listen, which is great because a lot of teachers don't do that and kids don't take in all the information they need to know. That's something I definitely struggled with. I also really enjoyed the papers we wrote in this class.

I found the course to be very interesting and full of knowledge. I think half the reason the course was so much fun to take is because of her fun personality and teaching style. I enjoyed the semester.

This class broadened my sociological imagination. I was oblivious to the world around me before I stepped into this woman's class, and she really helped me realize I can change something around me. This is a must-take class.

Dr. Walker is an articulate, hilarious, kind professor. She likes class participation and giving extra credit. You will have a paper or two about 1,000 words long and weekly ish quizzes but they aren't too difficult. She is personable and cares for her students. Attendance not mandatory but her notes are not on BB but she does post grades quickly.

Dr. walker is a straight G. Very few of her students DONT like her, she is almost universally liked and respected. There are almost daily reading assignments and quizzes for SOC 397 but theyre neither long nor difficult. There's only a final and midterm and two paper. 100% of the test is stuff that comes out of her mouth. Don't miss class a lot.

Take this teacher if you get the chance. Her lectures are always interesting and they go by quickly. Don't expect to pass if you don't show up to class as she literally pulls questions from lecture. She will not put anything on the test that won't be in your notes, and she literally tells you what to write down. She is amazing and hilarious.

She makes tough subject matter easier to grasp. She is always open to talk things out if you don't understand. She pulls test questions straight from lectures, so do NOT skip class. Extra credit can be frequent depending on if you ask for it and how she is feeling that day. She's a real homie.

I have taken her for all of my sociology courses thus far and plan to only take her courses in the future. She is super reasonable and is accessible outside of class time easily.

Dr. Walker is a caring prof and while she is blunt and will tell you what is up, she means the best. She tells you from day one that she has a sailor's mouth and will make some people uncomfortable, but the topics are interesting and class discussions are awesome. Just keep up with the daily quizzes and go to her if you need help in anything.

Dr. Walker makes her expectations known from the moment you enter the classroom. Be ready to do lots of reading and quizzes though. You can not pass them if you do not read. However, she offers extra credit very often and very little of it has to be earned. She is nice and cares about her students, just doesn't take disrespect. I love her classes!

Dr. Walker is hilarious in class! The lectures are so funny and interesting! If you do the work she asks for, you'll do well on the papers and assignments. The midterm and the final only cover lectures, but there are about three reading online quizzes a week that you must read (or at least do a good skim over) to pass.

Dr. Walker is definitely one of my favorite professors. She keeps the class interesting, and she's able to relate complicated concepts to everyday situations that almost everyone can relate to. She does cuss a lot, but it makes the class more entertaining. GO TO CLASS or else you won't pass. Also, she offers a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Walker has a great personality, but it is not for everyone. Also, she gives way too much homework for a gen ed class. You will have a quiz due each 3 days a week before class starts. There are also two papers, but she gives extra credit. If you are expecting an easy A gen ed class, you may be disappointed, but if you like sociology, take her!

1 paper on how you're gonna to change the world , a midterm and final based on stuff covered in lectures (which are so fun you'll hate your other classes), a 5 minute chapter quiz each week, fun class activities, and extra credit. This is the class where you for once get to be real and talk with the instructor/peers about issues in our society.

Dr. Walker is hilarious and really creates a great classroom environment. We had two exams. Both online and only one paper. Easy class and super interesting topics. She has no filter and makes you want to learn. 10/10 recommend.

Great professor, very relatable . Attendance is mandatory but sometimes points wont count against you if you miss, the class is so fun you dont want to miss it. The class isnt uptight, youll never feel uncomfortable you learn so much about statistics and even yourself. I wish i could take it again.

I always looked forward to Alicia's lectures. I'm not one to participate much in class, but the discussions were so alive that I spoke almost everyday. This was my favorite class at MSU so far, and that's due to Alicia's entertaining lectures. Midterm and final are online, but she grades really tough on the one paper assigned. Other than that 10/10

One of the best teachers I've had; she makes class interesting and isn't one to adhere to 'proper' language. She is very funny and blunt, and you'll learn a lot. Her exams were online, and she gives you a study guide to fill out for them. Lots of easy, partner assignments in class, and a couple quizzes each week over the readings on blackboard.

Walker is a very interesting person that makes you want to come to class everyday (occasional dog). If you have an issue make sure you talk to her and she will accommodate. Also start looking into the one paper you have to write early on in the year because she might forget until the day it is due. Overall great class, wish she taught more classes.

Walker isn't a very tough grader. There's weekly quizzes over the textbook and the midterm and final are over her lectures. As long as you read and take notes, you should be fine. She's also very kind and helpful if you reach out to her. Best teacher I've had.

We had quizzes online over the textbook chapters and the midterm/final were over in class material. Attendance isn't taken but you need to show up to take notes & do the in class activities that are for credit. Dr. Walker is hilarious and genuinely cares about her students. She seems abrasive at first but grows on you.

She is very big on cursing, so if that would be a problem for you, don't take her. The information on the midterm and final comes from the lectures and her powerpoints are not accessible, so you have to go to this class. The weekly reading quizzes and midterm/final are online and there is one big paper at the end, which she grades very carefully.

Dr. Walker is the funniest professor I've ever had. She's not shy and she tells you from day one. Her tests are easy, they come straight out of the notes and she tells you what's important. Her office is always open, and parents can bring their kids to class. Taking her again next semester. I'll genuinely be sad when I graduate. I love her!

Dr. Walker has been one of my favorite professors so far at Missouri State. She is very real and straight up with you. She keeps lectures very interesting, and you can tell she loves what she does. I recommend everyone take a class from her at least once!!!

If you take this online in the summer and plan to work or be otherwise occupied, this isn't the class for you. It's an interesting class but it takes a TON of time, much more than anticipated. She's a great professor, but having to watch online lectures left me bored and wishing it was over. I regret not taking the seated version.

Dr Walker is my favorite professor. I have taken every class she has to offer, online and seated. Her exams are taken online for all her classes and they are solely based on lecture. She gives out tons of extra credit as well. I have failed quizzes of hers and made them up in extra credit. I have never received lower than a B in her classes.

I have taken Walker almost every semester at MSU & she's one of the professors I refuse to skip class for. Exams are so easy if you attend lectures. Quizzes are over the book which is always an interesting read. Hilarious woman.

I love Dr. Walker so much. I took two online and one seated with her. Her seated classes were so entertaining. I loved them. I actually looked forward to every class period. I am so sad I won't get to take another one with her again. In all three classes, I easily got over 100%. Nothing but amazing things to say. Go to lectures--you won't regret it

So many opportunities for extra credit. If you're able to agree with or at least write in agreeance with her personal opinion you'll end up with an A. Easy A, lots of assignments but they don't take super long to complete.

About her classes I really appreciated the fact that she was not ok with people criticizing others for their political beliefs and while she or others may not agree with them she always made sure people were respected. Its hard to get that at times and I appreciate it.

She is lenient on assignment due dates if you are not feeling great. She also cancelled our choice paper b/c the majority of our class was stressed over it. She ties in personal experiences to the lecture and interacts with students during the lecture. She may seem a little scary and intimidating at first but she is a very caring person.

As Dr. Walker says upfront, you will love her or hate her. I found her to be very funny, understanding, and knowledgeable about her field. I didn't have high hopes going into this course, but the information was easy to understand in lectures and Dr. Walker is very good about answering questions and clarifying points. Course title says gender and sexuality but this course only covered women. Besides this, the course was eye-opening and great to be a part of. Really enjoy Dr. Walker as a professor and would recommend taking a class with her if you get the chance.

I will be taking every class Dr. Walker teaches. Attendance technically isn't mandatory, but all the information you need comes from lectures. She's so fun and interactive. LOADS of extra credit and SUPER easy work/tests; you'd have to try to fail her class. But be ready to write fast. Very accessible outside of class, too. Love her!

I have taken a few classes with Dr. Walker now and each one has been great. She lays out the course plan clearly from the beginning as well as grading criteria. She answers emails in a timely manner. She makes her classes fun and interesting. The weekly quizzes come from the reading, but the tests come from the lectures.

Took her Gender&Sexuality section of UHC. . Attendence makes up the majority of your grade along with a few in class tests and two papers. Prof. Walker clearly cares about her students and let us have a lot of say in what we learned/discussed each day. Overall, an easy and intresting class.

I took this online over the summer and she was super accommodating! I reached out because my quizzes were all very bad grades, but all of my writing assignments wee 100%. She let me retake them all because of test anxiety. Super fun lectures to listen to, but there is a lot of work (as it was 8 weeks instead of 16). Overall, I really enjoyd it!

Very interesting lectures, I actually wanted to go to this class. Very flexible deadlines as everything is due at the end of the semester. Attendance is strongly suggested but not mandatory, lots of in class assignments that can't be made up and lectures aren't posted online. Note heavy as well. Overall I loved class and prof and would take again.

Professor Walker is a caring instructor who wants students to succeed. The class covers gender and sexuality topics, though the focus skews more toward women. Attendance is key, and the papers can be challenging. Still, the class is engaging and the professor is highly recommended. unstuckstudy proved helpful for preparing.
