She's nice enough. you have to write a big paper 3 weeks in, write a bill and present it to the class, and there is a midterm and a final. She seems to think that we are all political science majors, only reason I'm taking GOVT 2302 is to fill a pre-req. I didn't appreciate putting in this much effort as a nursing major taking way harder classes.
The class was amazing, learned a lot. The professor truly cared about students, was extremely helpful and engaging. I am taking another class with her.
The professor was great. She really made the class interesting and fun. She is very knowledgeable. I would recommend her class to anyone.
Best professor I have ever had. I changed my major to political science because of her. Absolutely amazing!
I took her online TX Politics class. The material was straightforward and she really pointed you to the most important stuff. The best online class I have taken because: 1) Not boring, she does PowerPoints AND audio files (so kinda like a class on campus), 2)ALWAYS gets back to your e-mails soon, 3) she's nice (makes sure quizzes not too hard).
She does not ask a lot of her students but make sure you attend her class! The only reason I passed was due to all the extra credit I did. And the big group project that's all semester long. I would recommend her.. but you do have to try.. I worked very hard for the grade but there is a midterm and final that's worth a lot! Goodluck
Professor Jac- Kucharski was awesome! I would definitely recommend her!!
She was very nice but expected a lot. You need to read the book on your own time, take very detailed notes of the lectures and remember it all for the mid term and final. Review guides were not comprehensive at all and she had to curb the grade since so many questions were not actually covered in class. The group project is a lot of writing & time.
The best professor ever. By far the most interesting class I have ever taken. Other professors should learn from her.
Powerpoints do not follow the book...means constant note taking & lecturing. You will be writing a book on top of the one you have to read at home. She will not clearly indicate what the test covers. With a lot of info, you have to guess. Also, no test is handed back & it's cumulative info for the mid trm & final. You have to guess what you missed.
I took this class online. The best class I have taken online. Easy and clear.
Class was interesting and govt can be boring. She was nice- looked at my paper draft. Review was helpful for the final.
Easy class except for the research paper which I made harder than it had to be. Weekly quiz (10 questions almost all from power point) and drops the lowest 3 grades. Lots of extra credit. If you take her tackle the research paper early and ask her advise. Visit her during office hours if possible. Definitely recommend.
She's really nice and understanding- I had some personal issues while taking this class and she was ok with it. Covered interesting topics not in the book. Doesn't just read power points. Taking her 2306 in the fall - enough said.
Her class is not difficult, however, if you do well in classes not well organized then you will be fine. Too many emails that may confuse you about class work and deadlines. I'm sure she means well. She is a nice person.
Great Professor! Her lectures are engaging, clear, and relates them to current events. She made government interesting. Took during summer, so very intense. A midterm, paper, and final. Also, provides extra credit. Have her read your paper, not all professors offer that option, helps tremendously! An A is possible if you work hard.
she is super easy
Test are easy
I struggles in this class, but I'm not very good at govt. Prof. is very understanding and helpful. Class had 5 quizzes, a midterm, a final and a 5 page paper. Takes attendance grade.. But if you aren't good at govt i recommend you take good noted and attend! I did enjoy her lectures!
I took Prof. Jac-Kucharski for Texas Government online during summer, super easy A. There are only five quizzes I believe and they are to be done on the weekends, but she has slides over the material and to be honest they are all pretty obvious answers very easily googled. There is one paper due at the end of the class but overall super easy
if you like reading an abundance of material and powerpoints in one week and having 10 minutes to take a 10 minute quiz then this class is for you majority of the the stuff you read isn't on the quiz
All of her lectures and power points are posted online and at the end of each quiz you have a quiz over what you were supposed to cover that week. She responds to emails quickly and does truly care about her students.
If you're looking for a pretty straight forward class this is the way to go. You take a quiz at the end of each week. The trick is you only get 10 minutes to take a 10 question quiz. I only ran out of time once if you use quizlet (;
only one paper which was 6pgs the quizes arent bad but they are timed so look over power point if want to pass no time for googling answers lol she is clear about what she wants and thats all she will take
She is an alright professor, and not very helpful. She is clear with the work she gives you. If you do the work she gives you, you will pass the class. She's a tough and harsh grader. Don't wear your heart on your sleeve.
I loved Professor Jac's online Texas Government course. I took it during the Winter Minimester (wasn't even in Houston at the time...) Her PowerPoints are recorded with her lecturing & it is SO HELPFUL. The weekly online quizzes weren't bad & it's good to study Quizlets with the lectures/PPTs. Final paper (5 pages) was on gun control - interesting!
easy online class; however, her audio lectures are torture. she gives good info but, she hardly ever says a single sentence without an unnecessary pause or jumbling her words together. the online audio could be much more pleasant if she would just take her time to phrase things correctly.
Straight to the point. Read, LISTEN TO POWERPOINTS, take the quiz every week. One final paper not too hard though. I like her lectures but make sure you take notes because a lot of that material is on the quiz. She's helpful and offers to review final paper- make sure you make an appointment though. I would take again. I LOVED this subject! Easy.
Took Prof. Jac for online Govt 2305 minimester and passed with an A. Lots of readings and heavy lectures, but if you do them you will pass the quizzes. Lots of quizzes, one final paper. She answers promptly and is very helpful
She posts slides with very clear, straight to the point notes that have a clear understanding of what will be on the quiz that week. She only gives one quiz per week. The answers came from the notes. Usually they are multiple choice and then some are short answers and then a final paper was a 5 page paper over a simple subject. But she was so easy to talk to and very flexible with problems and very understanding. She cares about your grade and your troubles and would help you solve them.
I took her for online Texas Government. her PowerPoints were clear and to the piont. She does have a quiz every week, and she drops three. NO TESTS! even the final is a paper. Basically, if you kept up with the class and did all the quizzes, you can make a descent grade.
The best online class I have taken online. Fantastic narrated power points which make you feel like you are in the classroomm. Always ready to meet in OH.
I love Dr. Jac! She has a clear passion for what she is teaching. I barely read the book and managed to receive an A. However, that is because I studied A LOT for the final exam because it's 30% of my grade. Attendance is mandatory, but her lectures are interesting, so you won't be bored. Definitely take her, she's amazing and makes government fun.
Prof. Jac-Kucharski is simply amazing. She is incredibly smart and makes each class interesting. I am not a big fan of government, but this class was a gem. If you take the class seriously, you will do very well. Every class is fun and interesting. There are also some extra credit opportunities. Cool class. Highly recommend.
I am currently in her Mini-Semester class and I must say that the class is awesome. It is well organized and straightforward. I have taken other online classes, most of which are horrible, but this class is quite great. I I expect to be done with in in 3 weeks and get an A. I will take other classes with her.
Great professor. She really cares about her students. Her expectations are very reasonable. She is very knowledgable and cool.
Awesome professor. Very caring and knowledgable. Just take the class seriously, do the reading and you will do great.
I actually took both her American politics and Texas politics classes and both were great. She as an awesome professor. I highly recommend her. If you have no interest in politics whatsoever, you will still enjoy her classes.
Professor Jac was great. The class was interesting and she was passionate about what she was teaching. She also cared about her students- she talked to us and was accessible and understanding if you had something going on. I'm taking her GOVT 2306 in the Spring.
Great teacher and person! We had a really annoying student in our class this semester and Professor Jac handled him with amazing patience and grace. The class was interesting and she really seemed to know what she was talking about. Not too many tests. One paper. She drops the lowest quiz grade.
I just this class during the Winter mini. The best online class I have taken. Well organized, clear, and an easy way to get a course you need.
Took this class online, during her lectures it sounded like she was doing other things while recording her lecture, sometimes she was not able to concentrate . Sometimes this made it hard to focus on the lectures. One paper that is 30% and quizzes is 70% of your grade. Have someone proofread your paper and you should be able to Ace this class.
Took this required class over the mini. Glad I did. I got an A. The class was well organized and the professor made it really clear what you needed to do and learn to do well. She used PowerPoints with lectures to highlight what you needed to know for the quizzes which were worth 70%.
Fully online class. I did not have to come to campus, which was great because I work full time. The professor uses recorded lectures which is almost like being in class - really cool. I took other online classes and no one else did that. She really cares.
I took this class online. I would take this class again online. Take her you will not regret it.
Great class took it online. Pretty straight forward!
Took this online class during the May-mini. Pretty intense time constraints, but it was clear and to the point. Best online class I've taken because the professor uses audio to highlight the stuff you need to know.
I took the online class. She has clear grading criteria and follows the syllabus to the letter. Very predictive class; you do the work, you get the grade. She provided power-point lectures but I didn't like them because you look at the page while listening to her voice recording. I found that boring.
This professor really cares about teaching. Her class was very informative and interesting. This is by far the best government class I have ever taken. I would not have done well without the care and attention of the professor. Thank you,
She is an awesome professor. Class is great. I highly recommend her. I took her classes both in-person and online and both were great.
She is a really great professor. The class is based of quizzes and an essay for the final. the quizzes are timed but they are not hard. I would definitely take her again.
The most straightforward class I have ever taken. I knew exactly what to expect. Professor was very understanding when I had things going on due to Harvey. She was very nice. Always responded to emails super fast.
Online class Federal Government 2305 , Good Professor. quiz each week, timed 30 minutes, 20 questions. read the book and watch her PowerPoints you will be okay. She has audio in the power point. What I think she can do better is update the chapter number on her table of contents to the current text book, and or include page numbers.
I truly enjoy this class because you have a week to study for the quiz and then a quiz on Friday and closes on Sunday night. There is one major paper, but you have the whole semester to plan for it. She responds quickly and is fair. Easy grade. I definitely recommend the book, Ive had to use her PowerPoints to study because I bought the wrong book
She was okay. only grades for this class consist of quizzes, one paper (min. 5 pgs), and the final. Drops 3 of your lowest quiz grades. She provides powerpoints with audios of her talking but the powerpoints are so long. Most questions from the quizzes come from the textbook so you do have to read the chapters. She also requires lockdown browser.
This wasn't really a hard class, I just didn't like the way it was taught. Her lectures were kinda all over the place, but MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO THEM, because she will randomly throw lecture questions in the quizzes. There's not a lot of time for the quizzes, 30 minutes for 20 questions. Take her as a last resort.
Class was great for an online class. You know what to expect upfront. 13 quizzes, one a week and she drops the worst 3. One paper. You read, you listen. You take quizzes. You do a paper. You are done. I wish all my classes were so simple.
She taught my TX govt class this semester. It was a small class, but I liked it. She was nice and accessible. Probably the most approachable professor ive had at college.
as others have said listen to the lectures. youd do that in a regular class too. not a boring class. the quizzes are easy if you study, there are no suprises and they are multiple choice. the paper is worth a lot but she looks at drafts. that was helpful to me as i suck at papers. i failed english before.
A quiz every week and a 5-page essay as final. The syllabus is nice and clear for easy understanding for students. Take her class for government. She provides the course material needed for quizzes. 10/10 would take her again.
Excellent teacher, very sweet woman. 13 quizzes throughout the semester, but the lowest three are dropped. Final paper is 30% of the grade, but not terribly difficult; I would have preferred to have a clear rubric for it, but the prompt isn't insane and she is very willing to look at drafts to help you improve it, so it's not a huge issue at all.
I was struggling in Professor Jac-Kucharski class asked for help many times and only received study harder, NO HELP !!! I must say Fed Gov is not my favorite class. I dropped her class jumped into late start class ended up with a B, and enjoyed the material.
I liked this class. It was well organized and I knew what to do. Listen to lecture, read the book, take a quiz. Nothing cumulative here, which made it easy for me. I missed a quiz and it didn't impact my grade as the lowest 3 are dropped.
Not at all clear cut. During her power point presentation, Professor Jac-Kucharski was distracted. The information was also not helpful for weekly exams. I had requested help many times and her response was study harder. If you struggle in the slightest this is not the Professor for you, this is a self-taught online class.
Took it over May Mini. It was a great way to get the requirement done with. Very clear cut class - expectations clear. Based on another review I reached out and she helped me with my paper. Got an A.
13 quizzes and 1 5-page paper. She does drop the 3 lowest quiz grades. For the quizzes, you have to read the book and listen to lectures. She doesn't open the quizzes until Friday, and you have until midnight Sunday to complete them. But with the overload of information between the book and lecture, I really don't feel like I learned anything.
Took this class for Summer I. Great class. I learned a lot about our government. Syllabus is clear. Just read, do the quizzes and the research paper. No final exam. I would have made an A but my English Lit consumed my time. Grades get posted once you complete an assignment. Quick to post final Grade ;)
Great class. Took it over summer 1. Quizzes and research paper and I was done. Prof. responded quickly to questions I had and was very nice. Grades out quickly too. No surprises here- you get what you earn.
Took federal government over may mini. It was a lot of work, but it was an entire semester in 3 weeks, so yah. The class was well organized and the material was easily accessible and easy to understand. She was easily accessible too and responded quickly, even at really late hours. I'm glad I got government out of the way this way.
13 quizzes most are 20 questions timed for 20 minutes (lockdown browser). Lowest 3 dropped. Questions can be the most random small detail, rendering most of my notes useless. Her recorded lectures are awful. She cant pronounce Texas cities and speaks in a choppy, unclear manner. I am an A student, and this class is difficult for me.
Needed the textbook. 13 quizzes and 3 are dropped. Some quizzes come from PP only, others from textbook & PP. 10 or 20 qs for each quiz. No "tests". Dont bother with her flashcards. Lockdown browser. 5 to 7 page research paper at end of class worth 30%. Yeah her lectures aren't good, just gotta power through. Rarely posts on D2L.
Just got my A. This was by far the best organized online class I have taken. No surprises here. Everything was clear and easily available. I've taken this professor for both governments.
Took this class online. This class was harder than I expected. The quizzes start out pretty hard then get easier. The lowest three quizzes are dropped. Make sure to listen to her powerpoints and write stuff down. Lockdown browser is used. The book was not very helpful but I felt like I still needed it. The essay is 5 pages long.
Prof. Jac is great. She helped me every step that I needed it. She answered my questions when I wasnt sure about something and she answered quickly. (Sometimes at weird hours). Anyway, the class is easy to follow, no surprises. Just focus on the paper. One week I got sick and just skipped it since she drops the lowest 3 quiz grades it worked out.
I took Prof. Jac both 2305 and 2306. I did better in 2306 since I had my book. Her quizzes are timed and usually have ten minutes for ten questions. This is because they are not meant to be open book. I found that the worst. However, she is kind and is willing to help you where needed and I feel anyone can do good.
This class was very easy. I took this as an 8 week course. There were 2 quizzes due every week, and one term paper that you had the entire semester to complete. To get an "A: on the quiz, you had to listen to the powerpoints and they will have all of the information for each quiz. This was very easy "A" She drops the 3 lowest grades
I kinda use book, take notes from recordings, screenshot PowerPoint, & Google. More questions are found on Quizlet in US than Texas. Her recordings are such low quality - like bad ASMR. Paper at end is worth 30% of total grade, but easy. Short timed quizzes (no tests) make this class temporarily stressful once a week. 3 drop quizzes. No final.
I enjoyed her online course, I took her 8 week course and I am terrible at government, but as long as you read your chapters the quizzes will be easy. I had one research paper to do & DO NOT miss any deadlines and you'll be able to pass this class. She replies to emails quickly and answers every and all questions you may have.
READ READ READ! you cannot skim through the chapters but overall a good class. if you read and pass your quizzes youll pass the class and the research paper was a bit tricky so do not wait until the last minute to start it
Nice lady. Yes, there is reading. Yes, there are PowerPoints (which you have to listen to to pass). There are no exams, only quizzes. I liked this because no assignment was too much pressure. You can miss 3. There is a paper, and she looked at my draft, which helped. In general, once of the nicest professors I've had.
You could have taken this class with an AI. Use book, find obscure stuff that is in 1 sentence through the 20-30 page chapter and answer in a very difficult timed multiple choice quiz once a week. No notes allowed but everyone uses them I'm sure because it would be impossible without. I emailed her a few times and she was very angry. Find dif prof.
I took this class online and it was pretty simple and straightforward. The flash cards did not help at all and sometimes the questions on the tests were difficult. You must read and watch any videos in order to pass the class. 5 full page essay due at the end of semester.
A great online class. I took it to get my requirement out of the way. It was easy to follow and the commitment every week was reasonable. She was very organized and did not deviate. Still, she did help me out when I had some stuff come up. 13 quizzes and 3 are dropped. One final paper you have all semester to do. She read my draft and it helped.
She is a great professor. And HOT! Very sensible and reasonable. Intelligent, inspirational. Easy class.
Class ordered systematically if you stick to the system and don't miss deadlines it's easy to do well. She responds to emails fast and answered all of my questions. Seems nice. Have to listen to lecture and take quizzes.
Her assignments and tests are very hard. She grades especially hard on the assigned paper. Make sure you get your paper reviewed by an expert or else you will get a bad grade. Im not sure what everyone who gave her a high grade is saying, unless she has changed since I last had her. Stay away if you can or be prepared to work your butt off.
I like her. She is nice and down to earth and can be funny in class.
She knows her stuff. I like listening to her talk. She's also there for you at office hours if you need her and she looks at paper drafts- I got a much better grade because of that. You do have quizzes and you have to read, but she's nice and fair.
She is an amazing professor. Great class. Just do the work and you will get an A.
This class was pretty okay. I took an 8-week class so maybe that's why it seemed a bit stressful, however, prof jac was really organized along with the audio she attaches to her lectures was very unique & shows that she is passionate about what she teaches and wants you to learn. The tests, however, require a lockdown browser and were a bit hard!
Professor was amazing!!! She kept her lectures interesting and there was a ton of class participation. There was one paper towards the end of the year but she gives you almost a month to do it so it's no sweat. Easily accessible, and keep an eye on your email!! If she needs to cancel class or something she will almost always email!
She is the best prof. at Lone Star College. No, she is the best in Houston. No, the best in the world. No, universe. What's bigger than universe? Gosh, she is awesome.
She was great. The most straightforward, organized class I have ever taken. Nothing is a surprise. You do the work, you get the grade. Best online class I have taken.
Format: 2-3 weekly quizzes over lectures on a lockdown browser (no camera), 5-7 page final paper Her online lectures can be a little long (10- 45 min), but if you take a few notes, the quizzes are a breeze. Paper was about gun control- it took some time but not that bad. I don't like government, but she made it interesting! Nice prof, easy A
DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE CLASS. She is the absolutely worst professor I've had. Her power points are horribly done. If you wanted to take this class online because you wanted something easy DO NOT take it with her. Horrible professor.
Took this over the summer session online. There were 2-3 quizzes each week. She also had a final paper. The class was organized and nothing was unexpected. Her PowerPoints were helpful and easy to follow. I recommend this class. Not the easiest I've taken, but interesting.
Took this professor over summer and was looking forward to take her during winter mini. Very direct syllabus, instructions, and everything. Great powerpoints. No big exams- I'm not good at that. One paper. She helps if you ask for it.
GOVT 2306 done easy. 13 quizzes, one paper. I'm taking her again this spring for 2305, though I wish I had done it reversed. Some concepts in 2306 you are expected to know from 2305. Not too much material, not too much reading. Can't say for F2F because I take all my classes online, but I'd repeat again.
Prof. Jac-Kucharski is amazing. The class is well-structured and clear. Just take the quizzes, write the paper and you will do great. I could not recommend more. Best online class ever.
Prof. Jac is great. She was great in class. Now she is great online. I have had some problems with the corona nad she has been working with me. She is very understanding and flexible.
This is a wonderful professor. She was so helpful during the Covid19 outbreak .The class was moved online and she made the transition seamless. She recorded she even Skyped with the students individually to assist them in the transition and offer support. She is practically a saint. I expect to get an A in the class.
Great professor. Amazon class.
Prof. Jac-Kucharski is really great. Her class is awesome. Basically, you have some online quizzes and a paper. This is a non-nonsense class. I highly recommend her. If you need flexibility to accommodate your busy schedule and school, this is the class for you.
This is a great class. Everything is clear - expectations, assignments. The professor really want you to succeed. Thank you Prof. J
She is a great professor. In her online class, I did not have to come to campus, which enabled me to work and take care of my family. Highly recommended. Got an A in the class.
She is great. Interesting. Answers questions. Talks to students like people. Doesn't feel like she's reading off a script or from teh textbook. Now, since we were forced to move online, she moved the class online. she is very understanding and flexible.
Best online class I have taken. Everything is clear. 13 quizzes, one paper. No surprises. Easy to do whenever fits your schedule. She's super responsive to email.
Shes the best professor at LSC. Absolutely amazing. Unlike some, she is not boring and she knows how to convey her knowledge. Really chill too.
I experienced some personal problems during the semester. Prof. Kucharski was very understanding and helpful. Everyone should be as empathetic as she is. She is also very knowledgeable and knows how to engage her students. I highly recommend her classes.
Prof. J is very knowledgeable and knows how to convey her knowledge. Really cool class. You should totally take her classes if you can.
Dr. Jac-Kucharski is really amazing. Her class is straightforward, yet very engaging. You will definitely learn a lot.
Professor Jac is the professor who really made a difference. She treated me like a person with a life and problems, not just a student. She really helped me be successful in her class. This was a tough semester. I only finished this class, and with an A, because she took the time to work with me.
The material was not hard. The expectations were clear. There was 9% extra credit for your total grade. My best grade this semester. Would definitively take online again.
Her emails are incredibly rude; her lectures are more boring than reading the actual textbook (impressive feat no doubt). However, the class is really simple. Her essay grade is unnecessarily tough and borderline unfair. I recommend taking her online because doing so will land you a solid B, just avoid the actual professor and do the work.
Awesome class. 11 quizzes, one paper. Up to 9% extra credit. Prof says she changed the class because of Rona, super easy.
Took this class in summer online. Glad i didn't waste my time taking someone else. So much extra credit. The first A ive ever gotten.
Prof. Jac. is an AMAZING professor! There were 11 quizzes and she drops the lowest quiz grade. There's also 1 research paper. You have to read the textbook and listen to the audio files on her powerpoint slides in order to ace all the quizzes. I emailed her a few times and she responds quickly and is super nice! Would def take her again :)
Professor Jac-Kucharski is an AMAZING professor! She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I would describe her teaching style as engaging, informative, and efficient. If you have the option to take her class, DO IT!
Took Prof. Jac this summer. The class is super efficient. You read, listen to lectures, take a quiz every week. Easy to plan for. There is one research paper instead of a final exam. She drops the lowest quiz grade. Responds quickly to email. If you are considering taking her class, do it.
Taking this class this summer was a great decision. The professor didn't teach anything boring and everything she talked about was straightforward. The last couple of lectures were about interesting stuff - terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, 9/11, so not what I thought the class would be about, but cool! There was extra credit, no big exams
Professor Jac-Kucharski gives a quiz out every Friday and gives you powerpoint and videos that go along with the topic. The videos are really interesting and relevant such as the topic of how little people know about American policies and voting. Im taking her again for Gov 2306! Do yourself a favor and TAKE HER.
For Jac-Kucharski's online class, expect to write ONE 3-5 page essay. Expect to take a total of 13 quizzes, 10 of which are for credit, the 3 lowest quiz grades are dropped. Easy A if you put in a (little) effort.
No surprises in this class. She records lectures so during Covid it's kind of like being in class. The class was interesting and not too hard. Taking her for 2306 in spring.
I took him online and all we had were quizzes and 1 essay. The quizzes were easy but he's a tough grader for the final essay. Overall I would take him again.
The longest course Ive taken yet. TONS of required reading (chapters are super long) coupled with PowerPoint lecture presentations that dragged out too long and the material did not coincide with the reading, which may it confusing. With only 10-20 questions per quiz (all quizzes, one paper), narrowing down focal studying was challenging.
When I told her I was struggling with the course and research paper she brushed me off like I was nothing. Instead of encouraging me to complete the remaining quizzes and helping me, she failed me and said good luck on my future endeavors. No sign of compassion or attempt to help me pass the course successfully. I was shocked.
Very caring professor. She goes above and beyond to make sure her students succeed. Really awesome. The class is not too difficult. Great recorded lectures. Learned a lot.
Class was great. Professor responded super fast to email (even at night); she helped me when I had tech issues. Understanding. There is a book and quizzes every week but no surprises.
Took her class in fall. Got an A. Took her other class in the mini. So glad to get my reqs done in such a fast and painfree way. Would do it again.
I am currently taking this class during a winter mini-mester online and I have enjoyed it. The syllabus is very clear on what assignments are due and she gives you plenty of time to complete each task. Overall recommend taking the course with professor Jac.
Best online class. Got my A, no surprises. Followed the syllabus exactly. Super nice and responded immediately to email even during the holidays.
Took this class as a hybrid, but was really an online class. Wrote one paper, the one hybrid meeting helped with that. Quiz every week. Nothing too stressful, which was nice now. No big exams. It was nice to hear a person's voice.
13 quizzes, drops lowest 3 grades, one paper. Dont skimp on the paper. Nothing scary about this class. Some really interesting topics, some standard. Wish Id taken her for my first government class.
Prof. J is great. Always responded to my emails and honestly I sent a lot. I always do and she was much more responsive than any other teacher. She really helped me out when I was sick. Class was totally doable.
Content and expectations clear. Professor Jac has no surprises in store for you. The last weeks especially were cool. Nukes and terrorists- did not expect that. 4 page paper- just work on that, she expects a good effort.
Prof. Jac has a class that is easy to follow. She is also understanding. A lot has happened to me already this semester - Covid, no electricity, water, or internet, my aunt died- Prof. Jac is a human who understands that sometimes you need to deal with life. Would recommend her class is great and she is awesome.
Just FYI the hybrid classes only meet once- so it really is an online class. I was surprised, but it turned out cool. She replies to emails right away and has been understanding when stuff happens. I like the video lectures- makes class easy to do required stuff.
Class was super easy to follow. She was super helpful and she read my research paper draft. The paper was the hardest thing in the class. There was a lot of extra credit this semester with 7 points. The talks were interesting and convenient because online.
Took Prof. Jac for both US and Texas. Got an A in both. No surprises. Class is easy to follow and expectations are clear. She responds to emails right away.
It was an easy class, I kind of slacked a bit more because I focused more on my other classes. I did not have to study much as there was only 1 quiz for the week and no discussion board. 13 quizzes total, and a 4-page paper that is due towards the end of the semester. The 3 lowest quiz grades are dropped. Opportunity for extra credit available.
Prof. Jac is really awesome. Her class is not too difficult and everything is straightforward. She is cute too.
Took class and would take again. 13 quizzes. 3 lowest dropped. One paper. Ms. Kucharski is responsive and helpful.
Prof. Jac is awesome. If I was to compare her to an animal, it would be a unicorn - wise and majestic. If I was to compare her to a natural phenomenon, it would be a rainbow. But, not just any rainbow - a rainbow with an A waiting for you at the other end. Take her class, yall.
A great professor, who is there and willing to help you out if needed.
Really great professor. Presents material in an interesting way. Her expectations are clear and easy to follow. Great class.
Great professor. I highly recommend.
Professor I would like to help you for all of your help. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot. Thank you. Maria G.
She's a great professor and the class is organized well!
Class was super chill. No big exam. Quizzes weekly and a paper. Also lowest grades dropped, so when I missed one it wasnt a big deal and I moved one. Extra credit worth enough to help. She responded to my emails right away. Helped and was nice. Taking during May mini for TX and Im done with government.
Prof. J's class was really good. She is not too demanding, her class is straightforward. I would definitely take her again.
I'm in my last semester & this class F'd my GPA. Her long rambling PPT lectures are all mixed up & don't coincide with the book or quizzes. I missed questions on quizzes because the material wasn't covered until following chapters. Her essay grading is terrible. She expects a 4+ page paper about a topic that can be covered in 1 page.
Prof. J's class is super easy to follow. No surprises. She is super nice and responds quickly to all emails. 11 quizzes, drops lowest grade and plenty of extra credit.
I took this class with 2 friends- we all got As. Only thing that was somewhat of a challenge was the paper, but it was only 4 pages and she has a 1 page long prompt that walks you through the research question step by step. I dont know who isnt successful in this class.
Prof Jac was awesome! I took the class as a 6 week course and did fine. 2 units a week, usually 1-3 chapters to read per unit. No exams, only a final paper (worth 30%). Paper grading was mediocre, perhaps a tad too harsh. Her lectures are pretty clear, and she always responds to emails. Would def recommend
Took this class with my friend and we both got As. The paper was the hardest part of the class, but it was totally doable. I am a high school student and I am so glad I have this class taken care of- my senior year will be better because this is out of the way.
Her quizzes are absolutely nothing like what she teaches or covers. Shes online and she does NOT give you what information you should read in the textbook (I'm assuming we have to read the whole chapter every chapter. When you get to the quizzes you are basically smacked in the face with things she didn't talk about nor are they on her powerpoints.
I took her for an online class. She was super responsive. She looked at my draft. When I had questions, she got back to me right away. No surprises in this class.
11 quizzes. One paper. She drops the lowest grade and there is extra credit. There are PowerPoints/lectures and the textbook- follows syllabus to the T.
What am awesome professor ! I really wish she offered more classes - I would take them all.
I needed an A for gpa. I did the work. I needed help with the paper and she really helped me. Look at my draft. Gave feedback. I got an A and she said shed give me a recommendation. Thanks Prof Jac
I am taking Prof. Jac's 8-week course. This is the best online class I have taken. Organized. Clear. She explains stuff well and writes back fast to email. Would take again.
Don't take her class. She is very rude. She is non-comparative. She gives more than 2-3 quizzes every week. She expects you to write a paper of graduate level. I wished I never took her class.
I have asked Prof. J twice in the last 24 hours if she teaches history too. I took her 8-week online Texas class and I wish I had taken her for US. I wish I could take her for history, which she has kindly informed me she does not teach. I got an A, appreciated her help and the extra credit. Loved this class.
I am so glad I took the 8week online class. Almost done with my req and she offers a lot of interesting extra credit. I got an A in the class - worth it.
Prof. Jac was great all around. Funny video almost every week, many ways of explaining key concepts. She responded to emails quickly and nicely. I emailed her a lot.
I was in honors Federal Government, and I genuinely enjoyed being in Prof Jac's class. She is very insightful and will help you in any way she can. She gives honest, great feedback to help you. I work full-time and she made accommodations to fit my schedule. Gives lots of extra credit opportunities. I highly recommend Prof Jac.
Awesome class. Honestly, you really have to try not to do well. This is an easy A. If I can, I will take other classes with her.
Thank you professor for working with me during these difficult times. I really enjoyed your class and I really appreciate everting you do for your students.
Who has four thumbs and got an A - this guy! I am definitely taking 2306 with her.
I love Prof. Jac! She and her class are the best. Helps you succeed, you just need to ask.
Professor Jac was very clear and stuck to her syllabus. I see some people complaining about some info on the quizzes not being in the lecture, but she specifically says 50% of questions come from lecture and videos, while the other 50% comes from the textbook. I learned a good amount, even though government isn’t necessarily my thing.
I took Dr. J for the accelerated 8week class. She basically covered 2 weeks every week. She still had cool stuff in her online class, documentaries, funny videos, etc. It was pretty fast-paced, but I still got an A. Class was easy to follow & even online I didn't get lost. Quiz and assignment reminders, extra credit, info about stuff on campus
Prof. Jac's class was a lecture (either video or powerpoint- your choice), readings, videos, some other stuff. It was a great online class. There are quizzes and a paper. The quizzes had no surprises. I recommend focusing on the paper. I liked both the teacher and the class. Recommend.
Tons of work!
Prof. Jac really wants you to succeed. The class has 13 quizzes (she drops the 3 lowest). One four page paper. She also has extra credit, worth a lot if you do it. She's nice and responds to emails quickly- I got one at 2am. My advice- don't wait with the paper. My friend didn't turn hers in on time and that messed up her grade.
I think she made a mistake this semester with extra credit because it bumped me up a whole letter grade. Def take this prof and take advantage of what she offers.
Thank you very much professor. I really enjoyed your class.
Prof. J talked me through much of this class. She is honest and caring. The extra credit really helped. I got this credit due to her. Prof. J, thank you.
At the end of every week, you would have a test. It was a simple as that. The final for the class wasn't even a test, it was a paper. She gives you months in advance to do the paper and even gives you a week off of work to work on your essay.
Overall the class was ok. Personally I would most likely not take this teacher again but the experience was not horrible. In this class make sure that you look at the dates and times because there were many times that she changed the times to an earlier time. I do not like how many of the quizzes you get a grade on are dropped.
I like the class and I liked the professor. She drops the lowest quiz grades so if you have a bad day or something comes up it is ok. The paper is important.
Prof. Jac's class was the best class I've taken at LSC. Clear expectations. She's available (at all hours, I swear she's a vampire) to respond to questions via email. Interesting. She's nice. I felt appreciated when I put in the work. In her paper comments, she even offered to give me a letter of recommendation if I ever need it.
Took her 2 years ago. Just circled back to ask her if she'd give me a reference for a college transfer application. Her letter helped me get into my dream school! OMG- longhorns here I come!
Summer. Two quizzes a week and one paper due. That's all. She has lectures and tons of material to review to pass the quizzes. Beware listening to her lectures laying down, her voice is an ASMR heaven and you will get swept to the sandman for a dream. You will need to learn this material, you won't be able to just open the book and quiz.
Dr. J was interesting and nice. I love being back in a classroom (online was not a good fit for me). She was interesting. Being in class was importance for the quizzes but she did not take attendance. She was great. The class was great. I am taking her again tthis semester.
