I could not believe how little I knew about the world. This class is very eye opening! It helped me become more aware about world issues and places. Professor Gregorio is clear, fair, and extremely caring. If you're ready to learn, take her class. Definitely not a class for slackers though. She expects good work.
Professor Gregorio is awesome! She has the greatest attitude in the world and tries to make the class fun and easy to understand. She gives a bit of a load of work, but understanding the concepts will make it easier to get through. Study a little hard and you'll get through it.
Prof. Gregorio's lectures are really interesting and make you think about the world in new ways. Her tests are pretty difficult, but if you study, you should do fine. There are some extra credit opportunities, and 4 assignments, which are actually really interesting.
Best class ever. 4 assignments, three tests. You'll LEARN SO MUCH. I never knew geography was this amazing.
Her exams are extremely hard if you do not read the chapter and show up to class. But her lectures are interesting as long as you stay awake. She has three exams which were difficult in my opinion and 4 assignments which she drops one. As for her exams, it is multiple choice and essay exam for the first one but overall a good class.
AMAZING TEACHER. She is really knowledgeable and dedicated. Her lectures are also very engaging; that being said, sometimes they may stretch across multiple pages, nonetheless, they never get boring. Often times she shows videos or brings speakers. As long as you go through all of the reviews that she hands out every time, the A is guaranteed.
She is a FANTASTIC teacher. Yes, her exams are very hard, but her lectures are very engaging. I came into the semester expecting a very boring Gen Ed class, this was anything but. She actually gets you thinking about the world around you. You need to show up every day and actually do the reading. The 4 assignments aren't hard, but take a while.
Professor Gregorio is great! Do not take her class thinking it will be an easy A because you do need to put in a lot of effort but it is worth it. She is very clear with all assignments on what she wants and she offers a lot of great feedback after tests and assignments. She's also very passionate about the subject which keeps it interesting.
She is the reason I changed my major to geography!
There was a few essays, which aren't particularly difficult and tests are long. Don't be fooled into thinking they're easy because they're multiple choice. There is a lot of content covered in a single test. Lectures are great. You will be asked to leave if you fall asleep or are using your phone in class. You will be dropped if you don't show up.
Great Professor, really loves her topic and expects nothing but the best from her students. Very engaging, difficult, but enjoyable!
Best Professor I've had so far! She makes the subject interesting and will occasionally make you laugh. She's super nice and answers any question that you have. If you pay attention to her lectures and take notes then you should pass.
Professor Gregorio is incredible!! I took her last semester for GEOG 100 and was excited for an opportunity to take her again. She cares so much about what she's teaching & while the topics aren't always the most light hearted or easiest to tackle, it's very easy to be inspired by what you learn. She's inspired me to change my path to Geogreaphy!
I love Professor Gregorio! Shes so kind and makes geography interesting and easy to learn. I would not recommend if youre really lazy, you do have to try to get a good grade. There are 4 assignments, 3 exams (100 questions MC), and extra credit is offered. Test questions are taken from the notes, which is accessible on Canvas.
Professor Gregorio is so sweet and really cares about her Students. I took her Geog100 class. Her study guides are intense, but if you really take the time to understand them, youll do ok on the tests. Also her assignment prompts are tough, and the wording isnt the easiest to comprehend, but if you ask her about it, shes always willing to help.
Be prepared to read non stop! Its so much book reading, online lectures and maps. Theres very few assignments to get your brain working. The tests are extremely hard so if you dont study, you wont pass.
I took her online. She seems to really care about her students, but I found this class to be way too political/history based for a geography class, and she only showed one side to controversial topics. The tests were extremely hard, even after studying. There were only 3 exams and those are the bulk of your semester grade. I won't take her again.
Without a doubt , the best professor I've ever had! Not only is she passionate about the material and subject she is teaching, but she also deeply cares for her students and their success. Work load is adequate for a level 100 class and I love that she drops your lowest grade! Would recommend taking her for any and all courses she offers.
Very good professor with lots of content shown in lectures.
Hands down my favorite class & professor at FJC. All her material is engaging & always backed up with creditable sources. Although a good grade takes some work, it's absolutely worth the knowledge you gain in return. She's passionate about teaching & takes the time to get to know and help her students. Reason I went from a Geo minor to a major.
I've taken other online classes before, but hers is the best. She is really technology savvy and makes the absolute best use of Canvas. Whereas many teachers just make you read and take quizzes, she actually has great recorded lectures, complete with visual graphics and other multi-media assignments. She sets the standard for all online classes.
Professor Gregorio is truly passionate about what she teaches. She really captured my heart with the subject and I enjoyed listening to all of the information she provided along with the fun evidence. Also, we watched mind-blowing documentries that made me want to know more! Offers Extra Credit, DO IT!! Seminars are a walk in a park. TAKE HER CLASS
Talk about a woman who is passionate about what she does is what she teaches. She is very descriptive and consistent in the way she teaches and can be very enjoyable depending on what she is teaching if you care about it. On the other hand, SHE IS TOUGH in grading so be prepared to take this class seriously. Her tests are BRUTAL if you don't study!
Currently taking this class and I'm thinking of dropping. She is such a hard grader and I try my very best to do her work and her study guides. She will deduct points for the littlest things. Currently, our whole class is not doing well and she basically blamed us vs. taking into consideration it can be the way she is feeding us the information.
Professor Gregorio is one of the most passionate and caring instructors Ive ever had. Im currently in her Environmental Problems geography class and she makes learning the subject matter so interesting. Im doing well and dont even have the textbook; her tests are a little tough but if you pay attention to her lectures youll get a good grade.
Shes an awesome professor, who is very passionate about her profession and geography. She is a tough grader, and if you do not study you will not pass. Attending class is the most important, due to so much information being missed if you skip. Tests are hard.
Super generous grader and very interesting lectures.
Professor Gregorio is a really nice person and trys her best to make her lectures fun. But she goes way too fast in explaining lectures and its hard to keep up. You need to be sure to take really good notes. There are only 4 assignments and 3 tests that makes up your whole grade. She doesnt give much of an extra credit opportunity.
I dont get the negative comments on here. One of the best profs Ive ever had (and Ive been taking classes for a while). Sure, not an easy A. This teacher cares that students actually learn about the world. But she delivers the most interesting lectures and assignments. Very complete study guides. Awesome class. If you WANT TO LEARN.
Four super easy take home map quizzes. Four super interesting assignments with seminars that are a breeze - just show up. Lectures that are clear and filled with interesting up to date info. Super caring teacher. Ive taken a lot of classes - this teacher is awesome and teaches geo in a fun interesting way.
I wasnt never into geography at all until I took this class. Her way of teaching keeps things interesting all the time and makes it very easy to learn.
Lovely, LOVELY professor. Lots of note-taking but only the essential. One of the best in FullColl. Study guides provided before each exams, very well-organized. She loves the subject and her students, I walked out as an at least level 50 intellectual by the end of the semester. Lectures are the best! You walk into class happy, and walk out happy.
Absolutely best professor ever. I took her my first semester at Fullerton College and I owe so much of my successful academic career to her! She's so knowledgable, passionate, and respectable. Her class is not an easy A, you have to put in work, but she gives you all the materials you need to succeed - including detailed study guides.
Expect a ton of vague questions and outdated info in the class and tests. You have to study her version of the lecture, older versions of the book, and use out of date statistics in order to pass. The Middle East test in particular is so out of synch with time, we might as well be talking about the Shah and Soviets.
I just finished this class and learned so much from the professor's lectures and lesson organization. She gives detailed study guides and her material is interesting and up to date. I disagree with the review here: The book is an older version (a lot of my profs do this to save us money) but she supplements with a lot of new studies. Recommended.
The creme de la creme of professors. Took a break from university and took some classes at FullColl because I wasn't completely sure if I wanted to continue on with my education. Professor Gregorio sparked my love for learning again and I am forever grateful for taking this class. The material is dense but is very interesting + can be conquered!!
ONLINE SUMMER COURSE (GE) Pros - Detailed personal feedback - Not much work - 1 quiz, 1 discussion post per week due every Monday Cons - very political rather than about earth (way off topic) - grading scale is psychotic (3 exams make up 75% of grade) I passed logging on once a week. Short review before exam will suffice for passing grade.
Took this class this summer online. As a geography major, one of the reviews here is laughable! The course is absolutely on topic - the teacher described the class as a contemporary global issues class which is about our current Earth. There are interesting lectures, documentaries, and articles that help you grasp important topics of today's WORLD!
Professor Gregorio is an amazing professor who is passionate about Geography. Her lectures are very insightful, and I have learned so much from taking this class. She is very well organized and thoughtful in organizing her teaching material. I learned so much from taking this class as it was an eye-opening class. I would recommend taking her class.
This class really stuck with me. This teacher is so passionate and I now think differently about the world. I walked out of class feeling like I can read the news and udnerstand what's happening aside from US politics. Not an easy A, but easy to draw you in enough to strive for the A
This online course was so difficult. One basically has to spend 40 hours a week on canvas viewing material. You have to pay for a few documentaries in the class outside of the course and textbook. I asked for help and was told just to do better and try harder, which i didn't find so helpful because i have been trying!
The Online exams are 1 minute per question and often questions that havent been gone over. I asked her for help after not going good on my first exam and she didnt give any help except say study more. She seems kind of stuck up, like a you should know what youre doing without me attitude. Always seems too busy to help Wouldnt take her again.
She is really kind and actually cares about her students. She is an advocate for sustainability and equity! Her teaching materials are relevant and keeps us informed with what is happening in the outer world. She is inspiring and motivates us to do what we love. Her class is challenging but if you attend, study& do the work, you will do just fine
One of the best classes I have ever taken at Fullerton College. Professor Gregorio is one of the most inspiring professors Ive ever had, she really believes in her students and the topics are so interesting/important! Not an easy A but an A is not impossible at all, she gives you every tool you need to succeed on exams and assignments.
She is hands down the best, most inspirational professor I've ever had. She is very involved on campus and is passionate about saving the world through education. Get ready to be hit with a ton of data because she LOVES maps and graphs on important facts relevant to geography. Not an easy A but she definitely gives you everything you need to thrive
NO extra credit/tests and exams are ridiculous. She'll say that a quiz is on one topic,(if you're told one specific topic you're going to primarily focus on that topic and do the rest later)but she will quiz you on the whole chapter and readings and videos and won't explain what you actually are being tested on in advance. Very unorganized. no help
Professor Gregorio is the best teacher Ive ever had. She explains concepts based off of factual data and analyses. Ive taken GEOG 100 and GEOG 120 with her and both classes are passable if you pay attention and take good notes. She also cares about her students and will help you succeed. 100% recommend!
Took this class because it was required and it was an unfamiliar subject. Be prepared to read the book to pass, no homework assignments, three in-class small group discussions, watch two in-class documentaries, provides study guide outline, and she spends time note-taking with you. This class prepares you to be ready when you transfer. No regrets.
Pros: she's very passionate and inspirational, class is relevant and eye opening, lots of opportunity for class discussions, she takes clear notes with you, study guides provided for all exams. Cons: only graded on 3 assignments and 3 exams, attendance mandatory or you'll fall behind.
A great teacher that cares about her subject and her students. She is dedicated to what she believes in and it makes the classroom come to life. The topics are relevant, complex and very important to our world today. You will learn a lot and perhaps her enthusiasm will push you to take action as well.
The class feels like a University level course.
PROFESSOR GREGORIO IS VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT SHE TEACHES AND HER STUDENTS; HOWEVER, HER TESTS ARE VERY LENGTHY AND YOU ARE ONLY GRADED BASED OFF 3 EXAMS AND 3 ASSIGNMENTS. HER LECTURE STYLE IS VERY GOOD BUT YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS AND REALLY PAY ATTENTION IN ORDER TO GET THE GRADE YOU WANT. THIS CLASS IS LIKE AN ACTUAL UNIVERSITY COURSE!
Love this class! She keeps the topics interesting and I enjoyed learning more about the world. Mm there are actually 4 assignments (she drops the lowest grade) and 4 map quizzes (take home) and 3 tests. So plenty of things to get graded. She gives good feedback and is very respectful to students. Great lecturer too!
She is my favorite professor of all time. very passionate and understanding. enjoyable, interesting, and relevant lecture. 4 assignments- and she drops the lowest grade! 3 exams, and the quizzes are maps online that you can retake until you reach 100%. She was awarded teacher of the year 2019 in orange county- rightfully so!
Professor Gregorio is one of the best professors at Fullerton College! The class wasn't too difficult, but I think that's because of how much Gregorio really preps you for the tests throughout the semester. Even though it was an online class, she put in a lot of time into lectures and online posts to really help prepare you! Wonderful professor
Professor Gregorio has by far one of my favorite professors since returning to school at Fullerton. She is an extremely educated and well spoken woman who has a clear passion for what she does. She is so engaging, easy to talk to, and her class forces you to improve your critical thinking about how the world works. 10/10 would recommend.
Prof. G is very passionate about Geography and the environment. She is very well educated and really knows what she is talking about. Down side; there is a ridiculous amount of information given for each section. You will spend hours reading and watching videos each week. She gives study guides for the exams which are very helpful. Hard to get an A
Prof. G is very passionate about Geography and the environment. She is very well educated and really knows what she is talking about. Down side; there is a ridiculous amount of information given for each section. You will spend hours reading and watching videos each week. Take good notes during lecture and you will do well on the tests. Tough class
If you don't listen to her lectures you will fail. She's a hard grader and the lectures are very heavy full of information. Probably about 30-40 minutes long per section. Not to mention when she grades your discussions she is so harsh. She teaches as if it's an english class not a geography class. She really messed up my semester and my GPA.
Professor Gregorio is very caring of her students. She provides great resources for you to study and learn as much global geography as possible. Class might feel heavy because it involves lots of homework; however, just do the work and spend the required time in this class, and you will succeed. She made this class interesting and inspirational.
Very dull class full of lectures/watching videos of her reiterating what we had already read. Forces you to watch silly Ted Talks. Very, very politically correct to the point that I was receiving e-mails clarifying her use of common geographical terms. Grades hard and nitpicks details that were not even prompted in her discussion questions. AVOID.
Professor Gregorio's online Geography course is extremely informative with an abundance of resources throughout the course that make it nearly impossible to not succeed. Professor Gregorio is easily accessible and wants 'us' to be successful students over all. This course definitely helped with my worldly perspective. I highly recommend!
A very genuine and caring teacher. You can tell she really cares about each and everyone of her students. She makes sure everyone understands the material in lectures and is well-prepared with study guides for the exams. If you work hard and give meaningful feedback to this class, you will excel. Would definitely recommend taking one of her classes
Loved this class and the topics were easy to understand. She takes a lot of time to help when you ask, but by reading the textbook and reviewing the powerpoints the tests aren't too bad. She has a funny and honest personality, so I would highly recommend!
Great lectures and amazing personality. Although, test questions are tricky and wording is confusing.
Its hard to see negative reviews on here - Prof Gregorio is def amazing! Very organized lectures and lessons all provided by her, a detailed study guide for every test, meaningful feedback on all assignments, extra credit, flexible 1-2 weeks deadline, live Zoom convos (for those who can attend, she gives the recordings). So supportive! And caring!
Im a student at CSUF and took this second class with Gregorio because I loved GEOG100. She was just as amazing, especially caring of the COVID situation. Topics are interesting, well organized study guides, fair tests (college level!). So much teaching and guidance, lots of visuals, passionate teacher. She also won teacher of the year for OC!
Simply put, her class gives you TANGIBLE knowledge. I felt like I walked away with something of meaning because her class design is open source (Ted Talks, Pew Research, etc). Solid course design with interesting topics in written discussion posts made for my best experience at FC. She loves her career and that enthusiasm made it worth every penny.
Professor's class very informative, very inspired, and connect to every aspect of your life. She gives very clear instruction, clear grading criteria. She also very respect her students by giving flexible time for assignment when the time is stressful. She loves data, index, table, so be ready to learn many new inspirational, thoughtful lectures.
Prof Gregorio is the best. If you like visuals, hearing & reading lectures her classes have it allmaps, graphs & videos. In Cultural GEOG you learn the complexities of populations, development, migration, prosperity/poverty, gender, race & more which will better you as a student & as a person. She is supportive & wants you to learn the material.
Took Geography of California with this prof a while back. I caught myself remembering things I learned and appreciating her teaching style even more now that I have taken many college level classes. She is very passionate, clear, and helped me understand our state and its relation to world issues at large. Wish I had taken more geo classes w her
Took this class for spring 2021 and I will tell you this Professor is very professional. one-two assignments per week+short articles & lectures which are very helpful for quizzes and exams. Gives you great feedback on the discussion boards. Overall, this class was stress-free and the Professor is very caring. Also, the study guides helped BIG TIME!
You quickly find out that her class is not a geography class, but a critical geography class (her words), which means her class is about politics, social justice, equity, and her platform to recruit students into social activism while using maps of course. Its too bad because I wanted, and spent money for, a geography class.
Professor Gregorio is one of the best professors I've ever had. Her clear passion for the subject makes it far more interesting. She's clear about instructions/expectations and the grade you receive correlates to the work you put in. Her online adaptation for COVID is accessible for all schedules/circumstances and most learning material is free!
cool professor but material is difficult from day one
Her lectures are almost reading. Even if she uploads lectures where she actually talks, the lecture is really long and her teaching skills are not great, at least in my experience. There is this discussion board that you have to do. It requires lots of reading. But the exams were easy.
I found this class to be extremely interesting and insightful regarding the current status of the world. One thing I struggled with was that the course was graded on only a few things, and I found the exams to be a little bit difficult. Because there are not a lot of assignments it is important to commit to studying a lot. I still enjoyed it!
Professor Gregorio was very well organized and helpful. She has prepared all the reading material herself and selected thought-provoking articles and videos. She even had live meetings on the weekly basis. This helped in any material that seemed unclear in the readings. The lessons brought light and deeper insight to the world we live in.
there really isnt much HW but if you are looking for an easy A class for gen ed... RUN. this course is overwhelmingly full of information that doesnt really feel like a geography class. you will need to spend a lot of time if you hope to get a good grade. good luck ! do not take if you dont need to.
What helped me most in this class was the free textbook and the structure. Professor Gregorio is very organized and provides detailed study guides. The exam and quiz questions are fair and the topics interesting. She has a kind personality and cares about everyone.
This was an easy no stress class. Prof Gregorio's shares lot of maps and graphs etc and easy to understand videos. I liked that she did not have long and boring lectures and kept things neat and interesting. No exams but some cool assignments about climate change and air pollution... she has it all plugged into Canvas. Very kind and organized prof
I took this class in person and I think Professor Gregorio loved coming to class. She had always a positive attitude even though she is all about the learning. Her lectures are AMAZING! She expects that students read but takes notes with you and explains each thing one by one. It will expand your mind! Easy quizzes and great in class discussions.
Great Professor to have at Fullerton College. She gave a clear understanding on how to excel at this class. However I only had the privilege of having her for 8 weeks it was definitely focused and a well driven time that I spent in the class
This is a great class that you can definitely learn a lot from. Professor Gregorio is very accessible outside of class and always willing to help students. My only complaint is that you are graded by such few things. Make sure to study hard for the exams because the questions can be hard. The 3 exams are more than half of your grade.
I loved Professor Gregorio! I would've loved being a geography major if she taught every geography class. She actually wrote the course textbook, and she knows the material like the back of her hand, showing her contagious passion for this subject. She is also extremely helpful, and provides great feedback. Work hard on the readings and the tests!
Prof Gregorio knows her stuff. She is passionate about topics and keeps you engaged as well. I took this class online and enjoyed it. Recommend.
Such a great teacher
As like some other ratings, she doesn't really teach Geography like how others would think, it's “critical” Geography so it was not what I was expecting. Personally I was online so her class was kind of boring to me, she just uploaded a lot of textbook reading and quizzes, so if your not a reader like me than maybe I wouldn't go for this.
I failed this class at another college. I loved Professor Gregorio's way of teaching and see her content is just like my old textbook from another professor but she provides it for free. The way she teaches geography is more interesting because she puts a focus on important global problems. She is sweet and posts great lectures and feedback.
The lectures were really detailed and interesting, however quite long. Be sure to actually take the time to go through and take notes on them. There are weekly quizzes and some assignments which are not too bad, but the exams are much more in depth and any topic or detail in the notes is fair game. Also put effort into the written assignments
