Tells you what's going to be on the test. Drops 4 lowest quizzes. Allows index cards with formulas for exams and quizzes. Barely any HW.
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVERRRRRR LETS YOU USE INDEX CARDS ON TESTS QUIZZES DROPS LOWEST 4 QUIZZES ONLY 3 TESTS PER SEMESTER, WHICH YOU CAN USE INDEX CARDS ON LOVES CHAI LATTES GIVES REVIEW SHEET BEFORE EVERY TEST, WHICH IS BASICALLY THE SAME EXACT QUESTIONS AS THE TEST WITH DIFFERENT NUMBERS SUPER FUNNY AND SMART REALLY EASY TO UNDERSTAND
too easy. drops quizes, i dont even show up to class 12 the times. just come to take quizzes and tests, and if you are good at math, then its really easy. didnt buy the text book, just use the online one for questions in class
This guy is great. Really nice guy, and pretty funny. you can use flash cards on all quizzes and tests. He is really clear with you need to know and what you don't. He uses examples from the textbook, but you don't need to read any other part.
Awesome. if he is an option take him. If its 730 am, take him. drop any other class tbh. he is awesome. Quizzes once a week, but you can use index cards with anything. Literally anything u want, u can write it and use it. He is sometimes funny and his quizzes and tests are pretty easy
Smart , easygoing and know how to teach.
Super chill won't let you make up tests or homework if you miss it but he drops your lowest 3 tests at the end of the semester. Work is easy, barely gives homework. Good clear teacher, highly recommend.
He is amazing. I am a horrible test taker and because he saw that I always did the homework and tried on the tests and quizzes he gave me 5 extra points on my average. He drops your 4 lowest quiz grades and you gave have index grades during tests. His notes are precise and clear. He also always asks if everyone understands. He jokes around as well.
not always clear, leaves things out, nice, funny, he'll help you but he isn't very clear. our class taught ourselves a lot. Looking at other reviews he had to have changed his teaching style bc our whole class agreed. easygoing, very young, needs a bit more experience with teaching, if you don't buy the book make friends with someone who does,
He is cool but he DOESN'T TEACH!!!! If you are not good at math then AVOID him because you will have to teach yourself. And no matter how good you do on the quizzes and homework if you fail the exam he Fails you regardless. Buy the book because all he does is to tell you the pgs and that's all NO TEACHING AT ALL.
During lecture you do learn how to solve the problems. Easy to moderate ones. On the test they are triple times difficult. What he considers to be easy isn't easy for a calc beginner
I took Cal 2 with him and don t get me wrong his test were a little tough. But compare to my previous math professors , I can say he is the best. He is so sweet ,easygoing and do whatever it takes to help the class pass. The first test was so bad and he asked us to do it again for twenty points extra credits.
I am not really good at math but this professor make it so easy for us . Three exams including one take home, and 6 quizzes including two take home . He provides cheat sheet . He is an easygoing person but will not give you personal extra credits. If you have excellent work ethics and little basic math background then you will pass.
There are 3 exams and a couple of quizzes and most are take home. He gives test reviews that are basically the test with different numbers. You actually learn in the class. SO far I have only heard of him and 1 other woman professor being good stats professors. He even says if you dont get an A, you're dumb.
He's funny at times and chill guy but he can gives test that are more difficult than the review sheet. Most of the time the review sheet is the test questions but if not the test will be difficult most likely.
If you take him , you are taking the best in the game. Just hang on and go to him for tutoring then you will pass.
Professor Khoule was easily the worst professor I've had. He was unclear during lectures, i.e.: skipped steps, didn't explain concepts clearly. He expects us to know things that some of us never learned. I tried tutoring, group study seasons and of course, studied on my own, but this class was very difficult. Also, he is rude when you ask for help.
This guy is such a sweetheart and easygoing . He gives a take home exams out of three . Lowest two quizzes are dropped out of six. If you don't like you must the laziest and dumbest .His class is so hard to get in .
I am surprised for some comments because I have not seen someone who does not like him . He is such a good person.I had to fight to get into his class next semester. He is extremely intelligent and teach you exactly what you need to know. His exams are a little tough sometimes but at the end he rewards the effort. I have not seen
I did not like him when I first saw him but I went to his office to make up a quiz and he gave me some good advices on how to pass the class with a good grade . He is truly a nice guy and very intelligent. He jokes a lot but teach very well. My advice to you is don't wait until it s too late to go see him if necessary , do it as earliest possible.
He gives everyone a chance to pass his class. I definitely recommend him.
He gives a lot of quizzes but fortunately he drops 2. You do have to study for the exams because he is a tough grader but gives partial credit. Sometimes he gets off topic and starts talking something philosophical which I don't mind.
Funny guy who gives quite a lot of opportunities to do well (even though his tests are quite hard). His exams are similar to his review sheets, most of the time he just changes the numbers. Class lectures were sometimes hard to follow since he occasionally got distracted.
One of the best professors I've had so far. Explains new topics very well, very fair, may come off a bit intimidating at first, but he's very helpful if you ever are confused. Take advantage of his office hours; quizzes and tests are frequent but if you study the material he gives you and take good notes during lecture, you should be just fine!
I took him for stat last semester and took him again for calc this semester. He is just that good. TAKE HIM. He is clear and to the point even if you dont have any prior knowledge of calc. He gives you review sheets and it tells you exactly what to study. His tests are not crazy hard as long as you know how to do the review sheets you will get an A
I love Dr. Khoule!!! Makes calculus so easy. Allowed to have a cheat sheet that he provides with everything on it, and as many index cards as you want, for all tests and quizzes. Grades hw for completion, not correctness. Drops the lowest quiz grade. A take home test and take home quiz also
His class is easy. He doesn't care about participation or attendance. He drops the lowest quiz grade, and allows you to use index cards with steps and formulas (no examples) on quizzes and tests. Only thing is there are some trick/harder problems on tests, but he gives a practice test before the real ones. Definitely take!
10-11 Homeworks (6 Collected, 4-5 Recommended), 6 Quizzes (Drops 1, Counts 4-5), 3 Tests (2 Emailed to you, 1 in class, pretty long but easy if you know the material), and a 10 Question Final. His accent is hard to decipher at times and he teaches through a weird model but it works. I found it tough but if stay focused and put in hard work.
I had him for two semesters. For statistics and calc. He is an amazing teacher. I went to his office hours often before the quizzes and exams and he helped me a lot. He was even kind enough to offer his own textbook so i can study. We have 3 exams, one was take home. He have a review sheet for every exam. We had 6 quizzes, some were take home 2 drop
Honestly the easiest A. Take him if possible. Learned everything the day before the test and the tests are exactly his review sheets.
He's late to class basically everyday but his class is the easiest math class I've ever taken.
He's a good teacher. 7 quizzes, drops 2 or 3. Gives a final based off the review sheet. Just try and you'll do fine. He also helps you out during office hours and his personality is a rarity :)
Khoule is the best guy to take for any math class. He's funny and his class is pretty easy. For pharmacy majors, he goes easy on us because he knows this is just a core class. 7 quizzes, 3 exams, 1 final. 1 quiz and 1 test is take home. Study guides are same as test. Final is same as take home exam. Love him.
He's a nice guy. He's sometimes late to class, he gives an abundant amount of opportunities to get extra credit. Exams and quizzes are extremely easy because he makes sample exams. He goes a bit quick through the syllabus and it is hard to understand what he is saying most of the time. Definitely an easy A.
Funny and nice guy, he drops quiz grades and offers a lot of extra credit but the tests and quizzes and assignments are still difficult. Never miss class. If you miss class once, kiss your A goodbye because it'll be impossible to catch up.
Worst math professor I have ever had. Very nice guy but doesn't explain the material very well. He does easy examples in class but puts much harder ones on quizzes and exams.
Great guy , really thought that I was going to fail but he gave me a C . You have to work hard and his class seriously.
His method of teaching is poor. He does one thing in class, and another pops up on the exams. Its obvious you have to work for your grade, but I wouldn't suggest taking him again!
Dr. Khoule scares you from the beginning, so that most students drop. Very well instructed class as the material is quite difficult. Gives homework which you get points for, has a curve on tests and take home exams. Very good professor, highly recommend.
He gives you SOOOO many opportunities to do good. He drops like 3 tests and lets you drop 3 questions on the final if you dont know them. I was averaging a B-C and ended up getting an A-. He cancels a lot too. He gives pretty clear lectures and lets you know exactly what he wants.
AMAZING. Best stats professor i know of. Highly recommend. Makes the material super easy to understand. 8 quizzes, 3 exams (some take home), he drops the lowest 4 quizzes. Tells you to make index cards with all the equations, DO IT. Use them on exams. Very small homework. Super funny, and an amazing teacher; wants/ tries to pass everyone
listen. if you took calculus in high school, he is the easiest professor alive. I took calculus in high school and his class was an absolute joke. if you did not, prepare for sheer hell, cause he expects you to know concepts not taught in precalculus. despite this, he is hilarious, and an honest effort will show you care and he will pass you.
super easy class, explains the math pretty well. Gives homework close to every class but only like 5 problems. Drops like 2 or 3 of the quizzes and allows you to correct your test.
he literally tells you you're screwed if you haven't taken calculus. He also skipped a bunch of classes and doesn't teach basics and ideas. Told not to go to the tutoring center because they do the math wrong. 20 people dropped the class. AVOID UNLESS YOUVE TAKEN CALC ALREADY
If you can take another professor do it. He does not care about his students and his teaching style sucks. Hard tests.
Expects you to know pre-calc. He does not spend enough time teaching/explaining or going over how to get the answer of homework problems. He teaches by showing an example and doing it, without explaining. For homework, answers are just put on the board. He puts problems on tests that he cant solve himself, when going over it.
Not a helpful professor and does not explain problems properly. Has an attitude and just doesn't care about the well being of his students. He puts problems on tests we haven't gone over in class and hands back all work in a much later time.
This professor gives 5 or 6 tests and he drops the lowest two. 2 are take home. then he gives 3 tests all counted as 15% of your grade and one of those is take home. the final is counted the most. He allows you to bring index cards to the tests and quizzes with all the formulas on it and before each test he gives a review sheet that is the test.
if you have the chance to take any other professor, take them. I actually believe that he couldn't care less if you pass or fail. Worst professor for math thus far.
Calc is a very hard class to begin with & Khoule did not help. If you are new to calc like I was, you will need a tutor. He goes way too fast and does not seem to care. We had 4 HW grades, 7 quizzes & 3 exams with a final. He drops 3 quizzes. HW was 10%, quizzes were 20%, exams were 15% each & the final was 25%. He is very hard to reach as well.
Kind of suprise with some his reviews . He acts a bit tough in class but is really a sweet heart. I study his reviews and did well the first quizzes. To be honest , he does not like students who do not study.
He is nice, but his handwriting/accent can be hard to understand. If you are not good at math and didn't take precalc, you will most likely struggle. You can use index cards during quizzes and tests, but it only helps so much as it is just formulas. Still, he is one of the more easier teachers as he doesn't go too in depth. Study practice exams
Easy A. Attendance isnt mandatory but dont skip too many classes bc you may not know how to do certain problems if you arent there to watch him show you. Dont buy textbook, free pdf is online. You can use flashcards on quizzes/tests/final. 6-7 quizzes but only keeps highest 4. Exams are exactly like the review sheets but w different numbers.
Listen,The people who are giving the good comments are the one who took pre cal or cal before in high school. If you never took calc before like me than you are screwed. He expects you to know everything from preclac, He has an attitude and is rude, ONLY likes the people who are smart, goes way to fast.
Prof Khoule, if ur reading this, then I want you to know that I kept you and your family in my prayers because I know times are difficult right now. But, I can't stop praising this professor for being professional and keeping things smooth in class. As far as the class is concerned. It's an easy A. He lets u use index cards, cheat sheets etc easy!
Thought he was a very fair professor. let us use an index card and cheat sheet for every quiz or exam. He drops 2 of the 6 quizzes and is a very good teacher. I understood him very well and his review sheets were very helpful when studying for the exam.
Khoule's class is straight forward: you will have many quizzes (which requires studying outside of test days) and if you want to make your life easy in his class, do well on them! Tests are not insanely difficult but require effort and are worth a lot of points.
Professor Khoule is one of the easiest Professors to take for calc. His exams are literally based off of the practice exams he gives. He gives one take-home exam!! His final is really easy it is based off the take home. He gives 6 quizzes and drops two. His class is a must take for calculus or stats. Great Teacher!
Clear Grading criteria and genuinely a great person! For stats & calculus: 6 quizzes in total drops 2, 3 unit exams (one is takehome), 1 final. Lets you know off the bat that attendance isn't mandatory but don't skip math it's NOT WORTH it. Miss one class and you will fall behind! Do the review sheets and you'll do well
Worst math class i have ever taken. I've always done really well in math so I thought this class was a no brainer. I was in for a rude awakening!!! Quiz almost every week, exam every other, he explains lecture in 20 mins and writes SO FAST. He had to curve the final exam 30 points so people could PASS. good luck !
Attendance isn't mandatory, however its recommend that you attend. There are 6 quizzes (lowest 2 get dropped) and 3 tests(last one is take home). The take home test was extremely difficult and he uses that as a base for the final. Make sure you study for quizzes because they can really make or break your grade.
He tries to make class interesting a lot, but isn't very helpful in terms of explaining the lessons well. He goes over the material very quickly and drops the lowest two quizzes and gives a take home test and quiz. Lectures every class about how our parents must be paying for our tuition or our grades would bet better. He's also always late.
Horrible Professor. Grades quizzes and tests very harshly. ALWAYS shows up 10-15 minutes late to class. Make sure you sit in the front, otherwise you won't be able to see what he writes or hear him at all. Lectures are usually 30 minutes out of the time, the rest is independent practice. Over complicates simple problems with unnecessary work.
Extremely disrespectful towards students and has an awful attitude. When asking for help he is dismissive and will not help. Takes off some of the lowest scored quizzes.
3 exams and a final, last exam is take home and all answers can be found online but do it yourself if you want to do good on the final. no extra credit or curving but he does drop some quiz grades.
Explains all the topics very thoroughly and is very clear about what you have to do to get a good grade in the class. Allows unlimited index cards for each quiz and test. 3 tests and at least 6 quizzes, 2-3 of which will be dropped. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended to do well in the class.
A lot of people hate him, but he's honestly one of the easiest professors at St. John's. I mean, you get to use flashcards during quizzes and he drops like six of them. It does require a little more effort admittedly but not so much to the point of exhaustion. Study the examples he gives you and you'll do well on all the tests.
One of the worst professor SJU has for the math department. Dont know how to teach properly and when asking for help does not want to help you. Has a bad attitude and it not clear while teaching his lectures. A GPA killer and the only class In college I ever got below a B in. He think he so smart just cuz he went to Columbia. Dont take him guys
Professor Khoule is a good teacher, but I feel he moves a little too fast and doesn't provide many explanations. This may not be the ideal class for you if you haven't taken calculus before or are bad at math. Attendance and homework aren't mandatory. Another positive is that you're graded on many things and grades are dropped.
He gives quizzes a lot, just study for them before hand if you want a 100. Kind of disorganized; he doesn't seem to look at the homework he gives until review in class. Homework isn't mandatory but you have to do it if you want to understand what's going on. Tests are very difficult; you really have to study for them if you want to even pass.
Dr. Khoule goes really slow in the beginning. He starts off with the precalc basics and then rushes to finish the harder topics. It's hard to understand what he's teaching at times. There are three exams, a final, and four out of either six or eight quizzes( depending on how many there are) count towards your grade.
He teaches based on numbers rather than concept. That being said, the hw and exams aren't hard to complete as he provides sufficient hw. However, if you prioritize learning over grades (as you should), then Khoule isn't the best prof. He provides notes and readings as well.
His class was not worth my tuition. He was constantly absent every other week for an emergency and did not even teach real math. He basically showed us calculators where we just input the numbers and get an answer. I learned by watching youtube videos. Tests, homework, and quizzes were easy though so that's a plus. He's bad at responding to emails
Absolute worst teacher Ive ever had. He is barely early he joins the zoom 30 minutes late. Will not show up to his own class without a heads up. Doesnt care if you do hw but you will be teaching yourself. SMH def not worth how much we pay for school this guy is the worst!
Very inconsistent. Misses class or joins class late. Teaches by problems instead of content. However, very understanding and extends quizzes and exams. Homework is due at the end of the semester.
I love Prof Khoule!! He made stats so easy because he never makes us do anything by hand. He links free calculators to use. He teaches based off how to answer questions so you don't really learn much but it's an easy A. Taking him for calc next semester
Took him for calc with bio, he came into our class to replace our old teacher. He was always in a bad mood and teaches very fast and barely explains the material clearly. Test are similar to his practice test. Only way to pass is to do the hw for practice and ace the practice exam practice too. Test and quizzes are taken in class, one or two athome
Probably one of the easiest calculus professors at SJU. His teaching style is so efficient. He is a little test heavy but he reviews the same exact questions that he gives for the exams but with different numbers. Also doesn't give any homework. Out of 8 quizzes, he only counts the top 5.
He is a fair professor. As long as you put in the work to learn, you will get the grade you deserve. He is very clear with what you need to do to get the grade you want. The lowest three homework and quizzes are dropped.
I love Professor Khoule!! Take him if you want a good GPA. He makes math so easy if you are a numbers person. As long as you do the work, you will get an A, trust! Also, he drops some assignments so it isn't bad, and if you don't understand some questions there are always straightforward videos he provides that help a lot.
If you're looking for a relatively easy calc class, take this one! Grading guidelines are very clear, lowest quiz grades are dropped. Much of your grade depends on the 4 tests. Review the homework assignments and you'll probably do well on them. Tests are usually based on applied concepts instead of memorization. Teaching is a little fast though.
Dont take his class if you know you're not good at math. He goes super fast, speaks quietly, and sounds uninterested. All the teaching is based on his problem sets so you will never learn the actual concepts.
great guy. makes everything really easy by the way he teaches. lowest 3 out of 8 quizzes are dropped. the tests are literally the practice exams he gives us. top guy
I was so scared for statistics, but he made it so simple and easy! He teaches fast, but honestly not hard to follow along. He does homework with you after the lecture. Quizzes are home and 3/8 get dropped. 3 exams in person (but online). 2 finals (1 at home & 1 online). Overall an easy class, glad I took him and would def want to for calc as well
chill dude. comes to class late, quick lecture easy to understand, does hw in class, ends early. quizzes, 2 tests, 1 final (2 part) all similar questions diff numbers. uses free math website for everything & excel (including tests). doesn't use canvas so dont miss lecture unless u have a friend for notes. easy A, there's no way you can fail
All of this quizzes are based off the homework questions, just numbers changed, and the tests are all based off the study guides with the exact same questions, again with the numbers just changed. He also drops 3 of your lowest test grades!
He's a chill guy but he also could be very quiet when teaching. He teaches from practice problems. Gives a lot of homework. The quizzes and tests are based on the homework. This class can be very time-consuming for some.
difficult hearing him in lectures, lots of hw, teaches based off practice problems (gotta self learn), quizzes/tests are hw based, you can tell he gets annoyed or impatient when ppl ask questions . Hw is time consuming. Must know how to use Excel. take him only if strong in math
chill guy, he comes in a few mins late, does lecture and then does the hw in class. everyone has different #s, but goes step by step on it. you have the whole sem to finish the hw. 3 exams, 8 quizzes (3 dropped), final (2 parts). everything is on myopenmath, even exams. reviews for exams and they are the same questions as the exams too. easy A
talks quietly, seems annoyed when asked questions, teaches based on only sample problems, do not take if weak in math, time consuming!!, 3/8 quizzes dropped, 3 midterms, 2 part final. Too Many tests!! learning math never been this stressful.
Not sure if his behavior was because of the 7:30 AM class time, but he was the rudest professor I've ever had. Class itself isn't hard but if you don't pay attention for a second, he will yell at you. Participate once every class and you can get on his good side. The thing Khoule hates most is when a student isn't putting any effort into his class.
His class is fast paced but very simple. He goes through the homework in class so if you can keep up and complete it, you don't need to do much additional work outside of class. His exams are straightforward as well and it is very easy to get an A in the course. Just try to keep up with what he says in class and ask questions if you're confused.
The professor is a chill guy who teaches from practice problems. The homework, quizzes, and tests use similar questions with different numbers. Unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside the free online resources. Not too difficult if you stay on top of the work.
The rudest professor ever. He doesn't start class on time, 30 minutes late. He cancels last minute so you'll spend weeks with no class and he doesn't post the lecture video right away either so you're stuck waiting. Does not inform of quizzes and gets upset if you ask questions. Goes on rants about "lazy students". Just watch videos he can't teach.
Online class, no camera, prof always late, doesn't tell you when a quiz is, no extra credit, his own website has old dates and he updates new due dates last min, but he posts old exams for practice. Easy class, explains good.
Dude wasn't that bad, ignore all the bad reviews. I took him twice, online and in person, and still got an A without going to most classes. His lectures don't help much and he barely checks emails, but all the work is online. As long as you study on your own and do the HW, quizzes, and exams on time, you'll be fine.
