I really enjoy her class. She is always funny and hyper so you will not sleep in this class. There is a lot of reading, however it is required in order to know the basis of this course.

Alisha has a lot of energy that she brings to class. There was never a dull moment. She encourages students to participate. Always welcomes questions and is not embarrassed to answer the hard ones.

I was nervous that I wouldn't understand the material or have difficulty retaining the information, however Alisha was able to explain the courses content in a way that made sense to me. If I needed clarification on something it was really easy to get a hold of her. She made sure that we were all very well prepared for our tests and quizzes.

I really enjoy Alisha as a teacher. She is great at keeping us engaged even from home computers. She is like a great movie; I laughed, I cried, I applauded at the end.

Very chatty at times, and can sometimes go a little off topic, but in a good way because she covers all of the material, and answers all questions even when they drift off topic. All around pretty good professor.

I was not over interested in the Aboriginal studies but I showed up to class because of Alisha. She made learning about something I wasn't too interested in seem somewhat interesting. She always emailed me back promptly with my questions/concerns. She was kind and respectful to everyone in this class.

Her classes are always fun to be in. She does not only hit important materiel, but she adds personality to her delivery. ABST2500 is a very interesting class that makes you think a lot more about of how media plays a factor in everyday life for aboriginal people and non-aboriginals.

Everyone in Canada should take this class with Alisha. I love her because shes so funny but also because this was a class I didn't want to take because I was forced. I didn't really want to learn about a culture other then my own but she made it interesting and now I want to learn more. I know how important Aboriginal eduation to Canadians is now.

I find Sociology classes hard but Alisha has a way of breaking the course material down so that it's not only understandable, she makes the content relatable too. Alisha adds her own personality and humour to the lectures to keep the class interesting and engaging. She's a great instructor!

I had Alisha last year and once I seen she was my proff again I was relieved. I knew I would for sure learn something and I knew my questions would be answered in a way I could understand. When discussing tough subjects like Religion or politics, she is polite and considerate about all aspects. You are lucky if you get to be taught by her!

I would like Alisha to teach all my classes, she is very chill. She is smart and makes her slides relevant and interesting. She encourages class discussion and respectfully says if she disagrees and why. My favourite thing about her is that she is very understanding and will give extensions without having a "good excuse" this relieves stress.

Amazing Professor, one of the best I have ever had. When I was attending the University of Alberta, she out ranks the professors I had at the U of A. She is very clear about assignments, her grading system, always replies to emails as quickly as she can, she give amazing and helpful feedback on submitted assignments. I've had Alisha for Indigenous studies, Sociology and leadership courses. She genuinely loves teaching. She is good at talking about sensitive subjects that are discussed in these 3 courses. She is also pretty funny and does great voices! I've had many teachers over the last 3 years and she is one of the best!

I love Alisha! She gets you intrigued in all the lectures. I work fulltime, and i watch the lectures at home when i get the chance, but she has such great teaching methods. she genuinely cares and is always positive.

I am not done this course yet, I just wanted to say how awesome it is to have someone teach me about wellness in a way that is accessible, honors mental health, and does not glamorize diet culture.
