The best professor i have ever had. Seriously! Al is so cool I actually dont mind waking up early in the morning to go to her class. I think psychology is the most interesting subject thanks to her. She really knows how to get each student involved and uses the information that she teaches in relation to everyday experiences.

Al gives outline in syllabus, in addition to outlining every chapter pay attention your sure to do well. Very thorough on how to keep track of your grades and give FUN assignments. Very sweet and always willing to help answers your questions immediately if email. ALSO gives extra credit

I took this class online. She had a baby in the middle of the semester and stil managed to keep up. She's really nice and eager to help. She makes the class fun even online. It's not hard if you read. She gives you lots of time on the tests so you can check your answers in the book.

She is sooo hilarious. I LOVED HER! You have quizzes to take online every week (simple, you can use your book). She gives out up to 10 xtra credit points. She has study guides for each module's and the "show me what you know" (exams) are pretty easy! TAKE HER! SHE'S FUNNY!

I took her for PSY 131 and 253 she was a great teacher for both. I took her 100% online classes for both and it was pretty easy. There is a lot of reading but it is all pretty interesting.. If you have any questions she always responds to emails very timely. I recommend her to everyone. Wish I had another Psychology class to take!

Ms. Alison is the best! I took her psy 131 online class and as long as you do the simple work you pass! She's veryyy sweet and understanding. She also reply's to your messages and helps you if you need it. She uses the most fun book and makes you love psychology!

She's a very fun teacher...she likes to talk alot about each chapter and how it identifies with real life...I would rather take this class online because all we pretty much did was talk in class.The test are pretty easy,and you get to make your own 5x8 cheet cards...If I could reatake her class,I would rather do it online...

Mrs. B is a pretty straight forward instructor and very clear about her expectations.currently taking her online class and the class basically is read the chapters and taking the test. 15 que. discussion board and critical thinking questions I will say she's a tough cookie when it comes to grading those. She knocks off points for stupid stuff.

For this to be an online class, she kept us interested with discussion boards. She gave her fair share of quizzes but nothing you wouldn't expect from an online class. She was really a cool, interesting teacher.

The only thing I hate about this teacher is she changes the wording of the test too much. The final is suppose to have one question from each quiz but she makes it impossible because the questions are not similar. Is she trying to make us fail the test? My other instructor did not do this he made the test similar that way we remember easily!

I had her for Intro Psych (131) and then I HAD to take her for another class, I didn't care what one as long as she was teaching it. She's always ready to help her students, all you have to do is ask for it if and when you need it. Her tests can be a little confusing, but you get to use a cheat sheet on all her tests (but the final).

If there is any problem with the stuff she assigns she is very understanding and would usually push back due dates or cut some things out. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR ONLINE HOMEWORK AND BOOK. Don't get me wrong, she is amazing! But you have to know you need an online pass to do you homework and you need the book. Not a bad class overall but I really enjoy my psychology classes, as I did with this one, but she grades the discussion boards really harshly. Like really. Make sure you're super extreamly detailed on them. I've never had an online class that expects disscussion boards to be like that specific. Just keep that in mind.

If you need to take PSY 131, look no further. Her online homework (WileyPlus and Orion) are easy points. BOOK IS NEEDED. She allows a 5x8 note card on all of the 5 exams. Her final is the easiest A (if you know the material). If she offers you a chance to take the final online, TAKE IT ONLINE. It shows you right away if you get the question wrong.

She gives a lot of extra credit. An easy A class. Good person and good teacher. Makes sure you understand psychology to the best of her ability. Just one con and that is she does not finish everything in the book that she plans to; she explains a lot and doesn't do some sections and chapters

Ms. Buchanan is a very nice and caring woman who knows how to give lectures and teach. This class was an easy A+ if you did the little amount of assignments she gave and the test were very easy with huge cheat sheets you could make. The extra credit was so much in this class. The only thing I would say is that she may rush things a little bit.

One of the sweetest professors I have ever had. The people who are complaining about too much work, quizzes, etc. Why are you even going to college if you can't follow the basics? Personally, DB questions are pretty easy, she even allows you to email her to check if your answer will be full credit. The only downfall is using a separate site.

Mrs. B is a very sweet/caring teacher! She tries her best to explain everything clearly and is very organized. She sends multiple emails to remind students on upcoming assignments/exams. She offers extra credit. There is weekly assignments and 2 exams in total including the final. And a few video/prerecorded assignments. Exams were a bit difficult.

Mrs. Buchanan is a very caring professor that clearly cares about her students. There is a huge amount of extra credit assignments that can be done along with the rest of the assignments. While you do have to show up, all of the discussions in class make it worth showing up. She always finds a way to make the class more personal for the students.

She does give you plenty of time for assignments, however, if you're late on some assignments, she usually doesn't give you too many chances to make up late assignments. And if you're late to the flipgrids, you would just get a zero. You do get lots of extra credit though!

Some of the 1 star reviews make 0 sense to me frankly. She is an absolutely amazing teacher, super easy grader, and the work is so easy. I did not study and got an A. She cares a lot about the students and makes class fun and enjoyable. If you have a hard time with her class(es) -- maybe college isn't for you since she's the easiest teacher around.

She's the sweetest professor ever. Her class was super easy and her feedback was very helpful. This class is a lot of work for a 3 credit hour class, however she's extremely passionate about what she teaches which makes the class a lot easier to get through. Lots of reading, lots of quizzes, but they are all multiple choice.

Professor Buchanan is a nice professor. she is a great teacher and very caring towards her students. There is a lot of homework but pretty easy. Pre-chapters, adaptive practices, critical thinking, etc. Exams are kind of challenging but it is not worth much. If you spend your time doing everything she does. It can be an easy A.

I'm done with this course and honestly, it wasn't bad. It was way easier than I had imagined. She was clear about how she wanted this done. She gives homework everyday, but she gives lots of extra credit opportunities. The test were difficult, but you are allowed a cheat sheet. overall she is nice, No late work expected though. You have to study a lot if you want good marks. Be prepared for fellow students to trauma dump 24/7.

She was a very good professor with many extra credit opportunities. Her exam was worth like 7% of the grade only. The only thing I didn't like much was that she doesn't dismiss early, but if you had to leave you can. Other than that I would definitely take her again.

Such a wonderful teacher, she uses methods that are beneficial for all learning types. She explains topics in a very understandable and in-depth manner. She offers tons of extra credit opportunities and is very understanding when you can't make it to class. By far one of my favorite teachers at HFC.

Mrs. Buchannan is the best professor I've ever had. She makes the class fun, is very engaging and helpful and makes the material very easy to understand. Your grade doesn't heavily rely on exams. she lets you have a cheat sheet that you can write whatever you want on it. She provides good guidelines for the exams so you know what to expect.

Mrs. Buchanan is an excellent professor—responsive, thorough, and passionate about psychology. She provides clear guidance, truly wants her students to succeed, and is understanding without showing favoritism. I'd take her class again in a heartbeat.

A literal sunshine. She does everything to help students succeed—kind, caring, and inclusive. Many extra credit chances and cheat sheets for every test. Gives lots of papers, so get a folder. Very funny too. Engaging lectures and always approachable. Only missed an A because I didn't use all extra credit. Assignments are also a lot, but easy to do.
