i love miss chamberlain. she's really nice and extremely helpful.she was even willing to help me with my lecture stuff when i had a different prof. i totally recommending her for lab i dont know how she is for lecture but i bet she's just as clear and helpful as she is in lab. that's why i'm taking her next semester for physio lab. good luck
Chamberlain is a nice young teacher that tries her best to help you understand anatomy. Now that i think about this class, its pretty easy if you really study. i always did things the last minute but im sure i could've done so much better in the class. It isn't that bad as i thought anatomy would be. Take her!!!!!!!!!
very helpful and clear in lab, ask questions if you are unclear on anything.
Great teacher. She was very helpful and gave a lot of extra credit. Must pay attention in class to get everything. Loved the blackboard.com, I had professors before where if you miss a class or come late, you will never be able to see that lecture unless you go through the book.
She's really helpful and nice. If you don't understand anything, she'll find a way to explain it. if she does not know the answer now, she'll have the answer by next class. She finds a lot of sources for students to use to succeed her class. She keeps weekly update of grades in blackboard. She gives lot of little extra credits which helps too.
very patient and has a good sense of humor
Professor Chamberlain is the best lab instructor in Mt. Sac. She is very dedicated, helpful and has lots of online help and links for her students to be thoroughly prepared for the Practicums.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!physio is my favorite class now cuz of her! She's VERY FRIENDLY n HELPFUL! go to her office hours!! hw & lab reports r ez points, don't miss it! 65% MC 35% written on midterm, no surprises! study the handout and ASK questions, she let you know what she want. work hard, its worth it! I studied hard and had FUN and got an A :)
Grades slower than a turtle! Makes you write a research paper when other professors don't. Very sensitive about attendance. But she's a good teacher and her lectures are straight-forward. Also she's honest & doesn't BS you if she doesnt know the answer to a question, but she does say "I don't know" a lot which reflects the limits of her knowledge.
Best Anat teacher in Mt.Sac period. Totally clear, punctual, helpful and straightforward. You can tell she wants students to learn, and will not trick you in exams. Also, she is pretty cheerful, so lab time goes fast. Excellent communication w/students, she uses blackboard for extra quizes and study hints. An absolute delight!
Without a doubt one of the best class I took at Mt. SAC. She's a GREAT teacher. Very helpful and approachable. One of the best professor I've ever had. The class is not an easy class, if you want an A, you'll have to earn it. If you need Anat36, I would HIGHLY recommend taking her. Easygoing teacher and very helpful. You will NOT regret taking it!!
Hands down, the best professor I've had at Mt.SAC - this is NOT an easy class, NOT an easy A, but Mrs. Anderson (formerly Chamberlain) makes the road easier. Very straightforward and helpful. Makes class time interesting with activities and media, and is totally approachable. Just don't let your cell phone go off in class! :)
class was a lil tough but she made everything easier for us. she's very approachable so be sure to ask her questions!! she always made lecture and lab fun and very informative & helpful at the same time. class was definitely not as hard as i thought. when you study be sure to look at the study guides and handouts cuz they help a lot!!! she also offers lots of extra credit so take advantage of those!
this teacher is one of the best i have had. she is very approachable and invites questions. gives extra credit. your grade is not based 100% on exams (im not a good test-taker) as she assigns homework and activities. The class is engaging and she performs demonstrations to help you remember concepts.
I would say to not take her however, if they want to commit mental suicide be my guess. i took a chance and took anderson; however, I was dissapointed, not only that the multiple choice part in the exam were useless and very annoying, her attitude towards to some of her students shows...she assumes and judges the way you think and disregard it.
One of the best professors I've ever had. This class is not easy--it's physio, but professor anderson is very clear and provides a lot of resources for studying. The class was very well organized with extra credit opportunities. The tests were pretty clear, no crazy surprises:)Be prepared to study a lot!!Go to office hours if you have any questions.
clss started with about 25 students and ended with less than 15 before the final. Despite this i still believe she is the best anat teacher. the time & effort you put in will definitely show on your grade. my advise for future students is to know everything on her exam study guides. as for lab, she is really helpful. go to every lab. even friday lb
best anatomy teacher
I took her Fall of 09.She is a really helpful teacher. She makes you want to learn more and she makes it easy for you to approach her.
Teaches very clearly! Expects perfection! Her way or no way. Very sweet though and willing to help you.
I normally do not come to class and do not take handouts because I read the book but I came to ALMOST all her classes because of the clicker questions which gives you easy points and just because she is nice to look at. I stopped reading the book after two chapters because she lectures good and handouts help a lot. A lot of work needed 1160 points.
Anderson is very kind, patient, and helpfull. Explains anatomy very well. Powerpoint lectures are easy to follow. Lab was amazing. You'll enjoy learing alot and retain it because it was presented so well.
She is now my favorite teacher. Her lecture exams are straight forward and from the lecture notes she hands out. The lab exams are all on yourself, but she does the best to explain and help whenever asked. She's really fun and makes class very interesting. I never missed a class because i actually enjoyed coming.
Very Helpful and tries her best to make sure you understand what it is you learning, remember anatomy is a difficult class!
Anatomy is NOT an easy course, so there is no such thing as an easy A. However, she provides plenty of material and is extremely helpful. She also tries to change it up and shape the semester around the class and what learning style works best for that class. Book use is light. LOTS of memorization and lecture hand outs. Recommended!
She really breaks the material down for you in lecture. In addition, she offers study review sessions before the test. If you don't procrastinate and study regularly, an A is easy in her class.
The professor is awesome. I enjoyed the class. It requires alot but she is very fair and makes getting an A easy if you are willing to put in the work. She offers extra help and her lecture packets make learning the material easier. She tries to make learning fun by changing things up. Definitely recommend her.
She is an AWESOME teacher. She is willing to help and always willing to answer questions and offer extra credit. Just do the study guides and you'll do well on the exam.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I am just finishing the class up now June 2012. I have to say, Professor Anderson is awesome! She tests mostly from her lecture material, but due to the subject matter you should have a text to reinforce the material--difficult stuff! She is always willing to help. Go to ALL lab a lecture sessions and you'll do well.
Extremely great professor! She made this class enjoyable and the material understandable. She provides many chances to receive extra help and extra credit for those in need of the extra points. Make sure to attend class, lab and office hours to get all the help and information you need to succeed.
Professor Chamberlain is awesome! She won't be easy, but this class isn't easy, so get over it! She is the most helpful professor I've ever had at Mt.SAC. She is clear about her expectations and gives you plenty of opportunity to absorb the material. Attend class regularly, do the homework, study on time, and you will be fine.
Great professor! Her lectures were very clear and she always clarified if we needed it. You can tell she's passionate about the subject. She makes it very interesting with extra "fun facts" about the organs and organ systems we were learning. Also--I never used the book, her lecture notes are all you need. Save your money--I wish I had.
She is definitely very passionate about her subject! Difficult class but then again this is a difficult subject. She can be strict at times especially during lab overall very helpful.
Ms. Chamberlain is great! She takes attendance daily & knows students by name. She goes above & beyond to help her students. She assigns a lot of work throughout the course which can really boost your grade if you're not a good test taker but can kill you if you're lazy. You have to work really hard in this class but it's worth it! She's amazing!!
Professor chamberlain was awesome!!! she explains everything so well. she is helpful and nice. you must attend all classes because if you miss you will miss a lot of information. Pay attention during her lectures because she drops hints about the test. I used a recorder and went over my notes and her lecture at home and it helped me so much.
Professor Chamberlain is simply amazing. She breaks everything down so simply that it's easy to understand. If you have any questions she'll spend as much time as needed to help you out during office hours. I can't recommend her classes enough!
Best teacher I've had at Mt. SAC EVER! She's very thorough and helpful. She tells you exactly what to expect on exams. I highly recommend her. I wish all my teachers were as great as she was.
Torn cuz as a person she's cool. As a prof, never worked so hard for ONE class in my life. Mandatory DBs, critique and analysis papers, clicker q's. syllabus changes. To succeed accept that she'll put u through the ringer, stop complaining, and just do it. She really cares about her students &their success. In one word: DEMANDING. Make time if take
She is a great professor. Anat 35 is a difficult subject overall and you must work for an A. Most tests are straight forward from her power points and require the textbook just for labeling diagrams. A lot of bonus questions on her lab quiz. DO NOT MISS ANY CLASS OR BE TARDY! BONUS QUESTIONS WILL BE INVALID FOR YOU IF YOU DO!
She is a wonderful professor! She seems genuine in her students' learning experience. She sometimes had her little "mood swings" but it was only because of students in her class (coming late, not participating or being lazy) Anatomy is a difficult course in general but she made it interesting and "do-able" I am glad I took her course !
Professor Chamberlain is a great professor. Her lectures are very helpful and she only tests on what she teaches in class. She definitely rewards students for being at every class. DO NOT MISS A CLASS, and be on time! That's some of the best advice one could give to anyone taking this class. Oh and just as a side note, she really is damn hot.
Best advice I can give is come to class, participate, and pay attention. If you do, the class is very manageable, if not, then it WILL seem hard. Professor Chamberlain is willing to help if you need it. She really cares about her students. She is very clear about what she expects from you. I loved this class!!!
Prof Chamberlain is very passionate and her lectures show it. She uses clickers to help enhance your ability to understand the material. She gives up to 26 extra credit points. Homework is optional after the 3rd week. Lab is a challenge. 3 analysis papers and a journal critique are a must to pass. She wants EVERYONE to get an A and always helps.
The best professor I have taken at Mt. SAC. She is passionate about the subject and instills that passion into her students. She encourages class attendance by offering extra credit to those who haven't missed a class for that unit. She is very approachable and doesn't pick on you if you don't know the answer to a question.
Anat is a difficult class, but she made it very doable. Tests and practicals are straight from lectures and labs, no trick questions at all. Use her during her office hours, don't bother to buy the textbook. I am glad I had her for my anat prof.
Chamberlain is one of the best professors at Mt. Sac. She really puts a lot of effort in giving the best lectures and in helping the students. Her classes are not easy, but anyone can pass as long as you work hard (especially for ANAT36 where you have to write journal critique and results papers). Make use of her extra-credit opportunities!
This is one of the best professors at Mt. Sac she cares about her students she is there when you need help and gives great lectures. She is clear with grading and gives extra credit. Advice for you Don't be late she Notices. Do extra credit. Study everyday this is not an easy A but if you put in effort you will do good because she's a great teacher
professor Chamberlain is a passionate teacher she loves her job!! She will help as much as possible. Anatomy is not easy. study hard ask questions go to office hours. record lectures and utilize all materials she posts on the discussion boards. If you put in the extra effort a high grade is achievable! pay attention to the details for class notes.
SLACKERS BEWARE!!! Her exams are hard, and she's a tough grader, a bit to tough at times. When you come to her class, you better come with it (PREPARED). She explains the material well, and is fair, but tough. I passed with a C, AND THAT WASN'T EASY, taking the course again; and yup, with her. Overall, great professor to learn from, but tough.
Professor Chamberlain is an amazing teacher, gifted in what she does, and if you're serious about doing well, you'll make sure you're on time to class and never miss a day. Everything she tests on is on the notes she provides, you just need to take the time and study it. Loved her class and lab!
Her favorite movie is Just Like Heaven. Knowing that, you realize she's like a student--she understands you, pushes you to work harder, and tries to make lecture fun and understandable. She does everything in her power make you understand anatomy and not just memorize. This being said, lots of exams, reading, studying handouts, etc. TONS OF WORK!!!
Lectures interesting & clicker q's so show up to class; gives hints on what's gonna be on the exam so go to class; U can only get extra cred on exams if you show up to every class prior to an exam; Only tests on material taught in class; Study from her lecture notes; don't just memorize, UNDERSTAND. Lab -1/2 pt for spelling errors. TAKE HER!
She is simply AMAZING Professor, class needs tons of work, just focus during lectures, power point, and study guides. Tests are bit tough. Gives 20 points opportunity for X-credit. TAKE HER!
The subject itself is difficult so a good professor is essential. I definitely had to work hard for my grade, but I got so much out of the class. I felt she really cared about us understanding the material. The study guides are helpful so doing the questions in advance is crucial especially if you have questions. She is readily availabe to help.
Professor Chamberlain is a gem to the science department. She is very challenging and makes you earn your grade. However, she gives countless assignments and weekly quizzes, so you must not slack off to pass. Very easy in this eyes, but don't let her looks fool you. Helps you when you ask for it, though. Work immediately on the thought questions!
Professor Chamberlain is by far the best professor I have had. The class itself is difficult, but Chamberlain gives students every bit of information needed to succeed in the class. If you are on top of your work, she works with you. My best piece of advice would be to visit her often in her office hours. She is always there for her students.
Prof. Chamberlain is a sweet being, however tough grader. If you want an A, you work for it! Extra Credit is offered and do all of them! They are grade changers, seriously! I'm not going to say tests are easy or hard, but if you study and don't procrastinate your grade will reflect. Lab was really fun, lectures are not bad either. Good luck!
Professor Chamberlain is truely a rare gem .. she genuinely cares and is patient with her students . She gives great feedback and is a fair grader. She provides loads of extra study materiels and Attending class is a must, she offers extra credit to students who dont miss . Didnt really use the book. Pay attention and Study the lecture packets.
Physiology is not easy, but Chamberlain makes it absolutely doable for her students. She gives you everything you need to succeed in her class. Her lecture is very detailed, clear, and interesting! Last piece of advice, dont be fooled by her look, she is absolutely not a softie when it comes to grading...
Professor Chamberlain is by far one of the best professors I've had at Mt. Sac. I took her for Anatomy and Physiology and not once was I bored during lecture and lab. She really makes learning about the human body fun and enjoyable.
Absolutely love this professor! She's caring and so passionate with Anatomy. One of the best Anatomy professors to take and will do whatever it takes to get you passing such a difficult class! She makes learning interesting and makes it fun to participate. I would totally reccomend her if you're trying to learn and succeed in Anatomy!
Chamberlain is the best professor I've ever had. She cares about your success and is always willing to help. She clearly works hard when deciding how to teach her class and she makes her notes crystal clear, incorporating different teaching styles for every type of student. If you put in the effort and work hard, you will do very well!
i took her first thing in the morning and she was able to keep me awake every day. she makes lecture exciting, which makes learning easier. lots of extra credit opportunities. probably increased 5 percent of grade. Attend lab practicums, and go to office hours. super helpful. Overall an awsome professor who cares about students success.
Shes an amazing professor, however, you will have to work!! If youre a lazy person who thinks they can wing her class, you are setting yourself for a rude awakening!
A lot of people warn about Chamberlain's class not being for slackers, but even when you try and put your all into this class, there will be tedious and tricky questions on her tests. Her class is insanely hard! She seems nice, but her tests and labs are ridiculous. You must know EVERYTHING plus more. I strongly recommend taking someone else.
She really makes you work for it. You really need to be on top of your stuff in this class. She assigns a lot, but it is all very helpful and not unnecessary when it comes to her tests and quizzes. She cares about her students a lot and want you to do well. If you are not willing to put in the time or don't have the time, do not take her class.
I took her for both ANAT35/36 and she is easily the best professor I've ever taken. She prepares amazing notes that are extremely helpful and offers a good amount of extra credit. When I started struggling, I went to her office hours and my grades turned around completely. Her class is not easy, but if you put in the effort, you'll succeed.
One of the best professors at Mt Sac! I took both Anatomy & Physio (35/36) with her. Both classes are challenging and you must put in the effort to get the grade you want. She is very helpful and caring. Loves answering questions. Very clear grading criteria. Gives hints for exam written portion. Extra credit opportunities. Labs are tough.
Because of her I ended up taking all of my sciences at another college. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT take her class she does not care at all even when she see's you struggling and go to her office hours she does not care one bit just awful.
The most caring & humble professor I've had at Mt. Sac. She inputs extra effort to make the class easy for her students during the transition to online. Thorough lecture notes, clear directions of what would be tested on, offers a lot of office hours to help her students succeed. Studying w/ classmates & sharing ideas will help you do well on tests
Took both A&P with her. Physio was easier and more interesting than anatomy for me. Both classes were very difficult overall. She does offer some extra credit. Her grading scale is very clear. Study the slides and take lots of notes. I thought she was really nice and passionate about the subject. Her lectures were always fun and interesting imo
Professor Chamberlain is the best professor i've had in 3 years at Mt Sac. She is caring, gives clear notes, provides helpful resources for exams, and is always available for office hours and test review sessions to make sure her students are prepared for the exams and quizzes. She wants you to be successful in Physiology!!
I took Professor Chamberlain for both Anatomy and Physiology, the Anatomy course was taken in regular on-campus setting, but the Physiology course transitioned to online. She is an amazing professor who cares about her students, extremely organized and knowledgeable. You have to study to get an A but you will thank her for her good teaching!
Took this professor during spring semester and ended up dropping out. This professor gives a lot of assignments and some of the homework questions wouldn't even be mentioned in the book or the lecture videos she put. You end up needing to put way too much effort in this class. No matter how much I studied I just couldn't keep with her materials.
One of the most caring professors Ive ever taken! Shes very understanding if something comes up and will work with you as much as she can! Theres a LOT of work that goes into the class. But its five credits so it makes sense. Shes wonderful I wish her the best. Also try to keep up with the study guides. Theyre long so dont leave last minute
Prepare to study. For the online class, participation was a significant portion of your grade and your peers will be competitive for those points so always review the material. Exams are based on lecture AND lab. Professor is empathetic to students but you have to put in the work. There is extra credit but you have to work for those too. Good luck!
One of the best professors at Mt. Sac, truly my favorite so far. Challenges you so that you understand the material well. Prof. Chamberlain is passionate about what she teaches and it shows through her teaching! And is inspiring to someone like myself who is going into healthcare, she changed my perspective. Take her class! Go to office hours!!
A magnificent person, never a day that I was bored; learning anatomy with her was very interactive and was helpful to answer any questions. Lecture and labs exams were easy! Its helpful to even lightly review throughout the week before exam day arrives as there is a plethora amount of info but she makes it possible for everyone to do excellent!
Best class I have ever taken. Anatomy is not an easy class but she makes it manageable and FUN. Practicums are cool and tests are easy if you study for them! She gives an extra 20 extra credit points for easy assignments and it bumps grades up to 2%. Go to her office hours for questions or just to talk she is pretty cool. get ready 2 learn!
Took this professor during spring semester and ended up dropping out. This professor quizzes each unit at the beginning of class which is call entrance exam and you also have to volunteer for an exit quiz, she gives a lot of assignments and her exams are multiple choice with answers a.b.c.d.e with essay questions. Her reviews are misleading.
Her low reviews are likely from students either not making time out of class to study (due to other commitments) or needing to learn new study methods. She did all of the hard work for what we need to know by formatting lectures around powerpoint presentations; study and explain them. Love her jokes and personality. Cant go wrong with her as a prof
Worst Professor! do not take her, all of those reviews are misleading. I took her during spring break based on her ratings. Her lectures are good, if she really used them on the exams instead of tricking you.
no one said Anatomy was going to be easy, so yes you have to work really hard REGARDLESS of the professor. However, she made anatomy easy and enjoyable. Don't let the negative feedback fool you guys. She gives alot of extra credit and test are easy. IF YOU study you can ace every test. There are many resources like TERC/STEM center for extra study.
Anatomy is difficult if you are unwilling to put in enough time. Honestly one of those classes where you really earn your grade! Don't miss class or you miss out on exam extra credit. She gives very clear expectations on what to know for lab exams, know ins and outs of powerpoints to get A's on lecture exams. Study daily and don't procrastinate.
Don't say you weren't warned not to take this professor, Chamberlain is a nice enough professor that isn't the problem. It's the fact she wants you to learn and memorize above and beyond what is required of you. She also is a VERY picky grader (takes points off for misspelling even though she misspells words on the board all the time).
This professor is so insanely hard, all these reviews saying "wElL iF yOu StUdY aNd PuT iN tHe TiMe", no. I literally never missed class, studied everyday & went to STEM/TERC & still couldn't pass because of how much information she crams into a short period of time. Avoid this professor at all costs, trust me.
Worst professor you can ever get at mt sac. She clearly is not there for her students success. Her office hours were useless , and her grading was horrible. She takes off points for missing a letter on the practicums. I would never take her again. Don't be mislead by the other ratings, you have been warn.
I had taken her during the spring semester with these reviews. It was difficult to keep up, even when I asked for help. When I went to ask her about studying she said, "You're doing everything right, just keep it up," I had a 70% but she brought it down to 69.47% at the end of the semester. Do not take this teacher unless you're into anatomy.
Definitely more work to do in physiology compared to anatomy so its important that you stay on top of studying. I highly suggest attending office hours to discuss study guide Q's and HW Q's with her one on one which helped me excel in lab quizzes & lecture exams. She is magnificent and a patient professor I will not forget in my path to medicine.
AcH passion for physiology makes learning so much easier. Although super tough, this class is soo worth it. She does activities that help grasp difficult chapters and is ALWAYS available to help explain EVERYTHING. Everything u need to know is on the PPT and thought questions. She loves Calcium. and u will all learn to love it.
She's very passionate about physio and a good lecturer so you can definitely get an A if you put in the effort. However, I didn't like her classroom environment as she's very picky and strict. I would take another professor if there's one available.
Good professor however get ready to participate because she does exit and entrance exams during lab for points and everyone will be tested. Her online quizzes were difficult and I wish she gave more time other than 20 mins to answer. A lot of her quizzes were fill in and short responses. Picky grader with spelling, responses.
I absolutely ADORED Prof. Chamberlain; she was a fantastic professor and was very clear what was going to be on exams. She was very patient and was open to questions, it just sucked our lecture and lab weren't both taught by Prof Chamberlain because I think I would have done better. Anatomy itself is very difficult, but Chamberlain made it easier
Took her for both a&p with no regrets. Super patient, never got tired of answering students' questions. Cares about her students, she spent/sacrificed a lot of her personal time to help students succeed. Though a picky grader, she pushes you hard to reach your limits and that would help you to find your own potentials, which I feel super grateful.
Had her both ANAT 3536. Loved anatomy class she does exit and entrance quizzes so be prepared. For physio, it was hard for me to grasp everything because there were just so much material and she definitely pushes your understanding. She aims for you to know the concepts. FRQ's were long as well. Lab quizzes every week. KNOW how to APPLY CONCEPTS!
I took Professor Chamberlain for both anatomy and physiology and even to date, I am still well versed in the concepts that remain important for my nursing courses. She always made herself available and challenged us to fully understand the material. She is a gem of a professor and is the epitome of both a professor and a true student advocate.
Professor chamberlain is great overall. She pushes you to really understand the material. Assigns FRQs called “thought questions” that I found kind of annoying but pushed me out of my comfort zone which is good I guess. She's a tough grader, so beware of that! Also lots of assignments and quizzes. pay attention!
Professor Chamberlain is such a patient and caring Professor! This class isn't easy, but she dedicates a lot of her office hours to helping students who have questions about the lectures. If you thoroughly understand the study guide she provides, you'll do just fine on the exams. She also provides a lot of extra credit to help you succeed.
She is a easy going and care about students, great professor!
