Prof Duong is really nice and assignmens are doable!! I tried to finish spch 1a twice but kept dropping but i finished the semester with her

She was honestly my favorite professor this semester! She made class easy and I never dreaded attending speech days. She is super understand and she will always be open to solutions to helping you with anything you have going on. TAKE HER SHES GREAT!!!

She was really amazing at preparing us for our speeches. I feel like the things I have learned in this class will help me move forward throughout the rest of my life. That might seem like an exaggeration, but it's not!

She is a very responsible and caring professor, she will make different instructions and corrections according to the students' familiarity and skills in presentations. One thing to note is that it's a big challenge for introverts when it comes to speeches, and you have to spend some time outside the classroom to practice your speech.

This is her first year teaching at cal poly and she is super great. The grading rubric is super clear for all of her speeches and she gives a lot of time to prepare. She gives you outlines, allows you to work on your speeches in class, and makes the class super supportive of eachother.

Her grading/rubric is very clear and understandable, I had zero difficulty in this class although it will challenge you to apply yourself in the best way.

The overall class is very fun. It is a speech class which is guaranteed to be uncomfortable but Professor Duong definitely prepared for this. Expect low amounts of homework and mostly real skills work.

Love her, always had a problem with talking in front of people but thanks to her I was able to pass the class, would take it again. Hardest part was group projects but other than that it was very easy.

free textbook, clear directions, and she gives hella structures and examples to follow. due dates are consistent, so if you stay on top of the work and hit up the sssc, you will get an a. tip: after she grades, check the rubric for comments. some people thought she wasn't giving feedback, but it's all in there. take her!

Professor Duong was super helpful and understanding. There were multiple times when I accidentally submitted the wrong assignment or missed a reference page, and she allowed me to resubmit. We averaged about 4-5 assignments a week and 3-4 speeches in total. Overall, I would recommend taking her class if you need a public speaking credit.

She was a great professor. This is my second semester at Mt Sac and she has being of great help and feel like everything I learned in this class will help me in the future and has helped me already by improving how I talk to people and express my ideas more clearly.

Prof Duong is very generous in her understanding of students. She gives lots of extra credit and gives her students lots of chances with assignments/late work. The only major issue during the semester was caused by her being absent due to her participation in the debate team which caused her to be absent for multiple weeks.

If you need to take public speaking here at Mt Sac. Please take Professor Duong. Although yes little more work then the rest trust me it's worth it it's a way to talk about the things you like or are important to you. At first it's a lil scary but trust me you get more comfortable after the first speech trust gng 🙏

The best speech professor I have seen. Beyond college, Professor Duong is a great person, she's humorous, great at constructive criticism, homework is really easy and straightforward, awesome dressing style, and very positive. I couldn't ask for a better professor. Lock in tho twin

She is caring and respectful of your time and efforts. The grading scale is very lenient as many people received high grades. She allows students to succeed in the class. The class is an intro speech class and she puts the intro into intro class as she understands no one is perfect and everyone is learning. She also runs the speech and debate team.

If you want to improve, she will help you get there as long as you are willing to work with her and get out of your comfort zone. Overall great prof. It's also nice that she offers extra credit for getting tutored by the SSSC, win-win imo. u get help and extra credit

The class is really easy. She helps you if you're nervous to give you speech and she gives you a lot of time to prepare. Also lenient with deadlines. Overall, you'll find this class to be fun and not hard.

She was a great teacher but it was a little hard to get used to the assignments at first. She has really easy quizzes that are open book. For an 8 week course we did 5 speeches, having a week between the 3 harder speeches. Just pay attention to the rubric and you'll be golden, she usually takes a few points off for random things.

Professor Doung is an absolutely amazing professor! She gives great feedback after you turn in your speeches. She also doesn't grade too harshly and offers extra credit if you make appointments to the SSSC. We did 5 speeches total but they weren't hard and she gave plenty of time to prepare for them. Professor Duong was extremely great and responding to emails within a timely matter, making my confusion very short lasting. A lot of quizzes so be prepared to read a bunch of the textbook, but other than that was a great teacher, leaving great feedback on assignments.

Professor Duong's online class was fairly easy. She gives you a clear schedule for when all assignments and speeches are due. However, if you take the 8 week online class, the work has to be done in a shorter amount of time, which can be stressful. Overall, I recommend taking her if you need to get speech out of the way!

If you need a Speech class, then I'd recommend taking Professor Duong's class. Her class is fairly easy, and she tries to help you out as much as she can, as long as you communicate with her. She's flexible with grading and deadlines, too, so if any inconvenience happens, you can let her know and she'll do her best to help you.

Professor Duong is a great professor who has clear grading rubrics and gives great feedback. The volume of speeches is not that bad and her grading isn't too bad as well. Her quizzes are short and she also allows you to use notes while taking them. I would definitely take her class again if I could.

I was not the biggest fan of public speaking beforehand, but she instilled confidence and excitement in us, even convincing myself and others to try out for the Speech and Debate Team. Her teaching style is very engaging. I felt connected to others in our class from day one. Literally no complaints.
