Comparing with other professors, he is somehow between easy-going and tough, but you will learn. Makes the class funny, says jokes at times. I enjoyed his class overall.

Brillant professor. Increadible human. Would take other classes he teaches even though they are not in my major, just for the experience of being taught by him. If you can not get into his speech class, wait to take speech untill you can.

This guy is awesome. Do yourself a favor and take his class. Like many students, I hate speaking publicly, but his class is worth it. He wants you to do well, lessons are very clear, and tests are taken straight from notes and lessons. Highly reccommended prof.

An A++ Professor. His lectures, writing, and speech assignment are clear and easy to understand. Three speech assignment test and a multiple choice with bonus question final exam. you choose your own assignment that you are most confortable with. At the end of the semester you will get an A, I did. Thank you Professor Papoutsis for everything. :)

he is a great teacher,taking his class i was a bit nervous speaking infront the entire class, but he makes you feel confident,very funny makes the entire class laughs a lot,and he knows his materials well and very supportive .Take him you'll love him.

If you are an ESL student don't be afraid to take him. He has a great personality and he is very cool. He understands his students. His class was fun.

I laughed so much during his class. His side-tracks get side-tracked. He is like a mini Greek Energizer bunny. I learned quite a bit about public speaking in a relatively painless manner. Papoutsis is human, self-effacing, an articulate, news absorbing sponge... always reccomending things to learn about.

Prof. Papoutsis really taught me a lot about speech. He is a man brimming with many brilliant thoughts and ideas. But with that being said I also felt he was a bit too lenient. When there were people who missed class to not present on the due date, he'd let them go anyway on a later date. Is that fair to the people who did things on time?

Professor Papou-cheeze(lol) is a really GREAT teacher EXTREMELY easy n laid back...ONLY 3 speeches / Midterm is common sense no need to study. He is WONDERFUL and I regret not finishing his speech class (personal reasons). I COMPLETELY 10000% suggest taking HIM! Don't piss him off (it takes alot!)...He is AWESOME =]

Papoutsis...he rocks!!! The most helpful and greatest mentor I've met I feel like I can be relaxed and comfortable and free to do what I want in class and not be embarrassed to look like a fool.

I had no interest in speech all and still don't care for it, but prof. Papoutsis made the class enjoyable. The tips he gives are great and helped me for a speech I had to give in another class. His attitude and humor made the class a good experience rather than the painful one I imagined it would be.

Professor Papoutsis made the class enjoyable and bearable all at the same time. He was able to make a relatively dry subject something that we could all sit through for the Summer Session. He is very fair on his grading and strives to ensure that his students are producing a better product.

I had theater history and acting with him a while ago. There's no cooler teacher! I don't think he's the bes acting teacher, tho, but if you've acted before, you'll be ok. It's easy to get a good grade and he's just so nice and cool you want to hug him.

He is a great professor, talks a lot about his past experiences and makes the course fun. His class is an easy A, go to class, take a few notes, read the chapters and participate. Not much to it. He only has two exams in the semester: midterm and final for which he hands out reviews and goes over the material for the test. He is great!!!!

He is a great guy. Makes the class fun! He`s definatly a good communicator. Just read his notes and follow his instructions and you`ll be fine. He grades fair!

He made me first semester at BMCC bearable. If you want to be a Theater Major take his class, if you want to learn about theater take his class, if you love having fun while learning TAKE HIS CLASS! He is fair and fun, not to mention funny. You really won't be disappointed.

Super easy professor. No long papers to write. Only 4 speeches, a midterm, and final. Very knowledgeable and has good criticism towards your work and your presentation effort. Over all he is a must take and if you don't your a fool. Midterm and final are based on what he writes on board no textbook needed. All questions are multiple choice and T&F

He's one of the best acting II professors in the building! He gives advice on things you would pay $29,000+ to learn at a professional acting school. He's VERY blunt in which he tells it like it is, very encouraging, helpful and nice. However, the class was unchallenging as we spent most of the 2hrs sitting and I'm more of a move around person.

I took him for Summer 1 and he was amazing. He's down to Earth, very knowledgeable, clear with teaching, fun and easy going. Loved his class and I hate speech. 4 speeches and that's all. I got an easy A. Take him!

I took Prof Papoutsis this past Summer (Session 1) and I truly LOVED him! I have a HORRIFIC phobia of public speaking but he will make you feel comfortable! He's fun, friendly, funny and simply great; highly recommend him. The textbook is optional; the lectures are enough. Great man, just don't take him for the reg. 15 weeks or you will be worked!

He's really, really passionate and knowledgable about so many aspects of acting and the history of it! He's very honest and real about the business side of it too. You'll learn so much if you're an actor, definitely take his class!

He is absolutely hilarious. I love him. Very understanding, not overly judgmental. If you have anxiety with speaking in front of people trust me this professor is the man to take . He makes the class feel comfortable & there is never a class you won't laugh. As long as you legit care, he cares. If you don't, he won't . TAKE HIM

He is amazing, he is very entertaining and a funny character. He relates things to the outside world and encourages you to open up when doing your speeches. I i looked forward to this class every week. The ONLY thing he is very strict on is cell phones. Just make sure it doesn't ring, do your speeches and you should be good! Easy A!

It was a pleasure to be in his class. I took him for speech and acting 2. He is very blunt, open minded and hilarious. I felt growth in my work. He treats ALL students the same. No favoritism here. If you need advice he's the man. His stories on his past as an actor was very relevant and helpful about the business and still reigns true.

He is simply amazing. I consider him my mentor in acting and in life morals. He truly grasps life in a different way than most philosophers can't do! I really recommend anyone to go to his class.

Great Professor! Don't expect to take his class and get an A just because, your going to have to work for it and show effort! He's very clear and easy on the topic and what it is he wants, no HW or Txt books used. very little notes. *RECOMMEND! take this class in winter/summer! its only 3 weeks not 15, which makes a BIGG difference

This professor is so much fun. He is very animated and theatrical in his way of teaching. He really gives great feedback and makes the time go by quickly. Very interesting storyteller too. He gives it to you straight and is very transparent. One of my favorite teachers. I hope to take one of his other classes. Hopefully theater.

Good afternoon ladies and gentleman, Professor Papoutis, first I would like to start off my speech by saying, Professor Papoutsis is an excellent speech teacher, he is the right combination of funny, charismatic, and helpful. He is a fair grader, just follow his outline. No textbook required but be sure to take notes and pay attention.

just one word.. WOW! i love that prof, he really does care for his student, his lectures are amazing and interesting!!! you will love his class, btw i dont really rate professor, but hes's a must if you have take this course!!

Mr Papoutsis is the man. Took him in my earlier semesters. He's a great teacher. Very funny, upbeat and animated guy. Very good speaker , and lectures are very engaging. I was scared to speak in front of crowds but this classes helped that immensely. He didn't judge or criticize. He gave me good advise. He's the man. Take him. Cool guy for sure.

Professor Papoutsis is an amazing professor. He understands that most students will be nervous when doing a speech so he will not hold that against you. instead, he gives great feedback on what you need to do to be better next time. His lectures are fun and i truly became a much better speaker thanks to his class. I'd highly recommend taking him.

I would definitely take him again. He is extremely entertaining and down to earth. Very informal and relateable and passionate. He's like a funny-angry grandfather. No quizzes ever However you do have to study well for the midterm and final. There's also a report and creative project due. Its not hard to get an A as there's extra credit.

*(For the Winter Session)* Excellent professor! Wonderful insightful lectures he also calls life lessons! Now with the syllabus its so simple just 3 tests, each in the beginning of the week (3 weeks). You can pass them just based on the notes he gives in class but the textbook can give some spots of what he didn't cover.. Overall he is the best!

Did a dept. play, took an acting 2 class and page to stage class with him. It is true Paps is a tough grader but it's worth it. He promotes the best of the best but he also pushes students who he thinks can do better, to do better. Only has a temper when students are rude to him. It's all about hard work and respect with him.

he is amazing, great lectures, available outside of class, takes late homework or projects. He helps all the way, gives extra credit and he is hilarious. if you get a bad grade on the mid terms or any exam he will give it to you again to ensure u pass.

This class Is a easy A. As long you do your speech and follow his guide line for the speech you will get a good grade. He is funny . He loves to talk. If you want an good grade without trying so hard this is the class for you. .

Professor Papoutsis is a great professor and human being. His class is super easy, you'd be have to be a complete imbecile to fail his class. He doesn't give any homework, just a midterm and final, and two small projects. Show up to class, and participate, for an easy A.

Alkis hes a good professor for THE 100 I really enjoyed his class.

Summer 2019 1st session. Hes a great Professor. You will learn a lot from him. And hes also funny and down to earth. His teaching style reflects his love for his career and the need to instill knowledge to his students. You will definitely want to take him again!. Theater 100

I love professor papoutsis. His summer session class, was awesome. This man has a passion for teaching theatre. His class was very entertaining, hilarious and very educational. I never missed one of his classes because I was always ready to laugh my head off . Follow his instructions and you will do well. I got an A !! Takeeeeee him, trust me!!.

Very easy class to pass make sure you're there for class because you will be taking notes for your test. To pass this class all you have to do is pass your mid-term, do a 2 page report on a show and pass your final easy A.

Took this during COVID19 so it was half face to face and half online. Class was more of discussions and you take notes, he tells you what will be in tests, VERY EASY, reading plays togethers in class, one written midterm and a final only! The final is a creative project very easy. The final term paper is on a play of your choice. He's the best!

He is on of the great professor, but anyone would love to have.

professor papoutsis is the best professor I ever had this semester. working virtually, he is funny and cares about people. there are no exams or finals in this class just the 4 speeches. the speeches are easy and he gives good feedback. Professor Papoutsis was a really fun professor. The only assignments are the speeches and the homeworks are simply to prepare for them. Outlines are clear and he explains in detail what is needed for an A. Participate and do all of your speeches and you will get an A. Don't b.s. your speeches either. You don't need to memorize speeches.

Prof. Papoutis is hilarious, he cares about his students and wants us to succeed. For SPE100 he gives 4 speech assignments- that's it. Do all 4, follow his instructions, and you'll pass. He is so kind and this class is an EASY A. TAKE HIM IF YOU NEED SPE100! You will not regret it.

Guys, he is such an AMAZING person! I can't tell you enough how great of a professor he is. He is so understanding and ready to help. I would a million percent take his class again. One of the best professors I've taken thus far. He explained what he expected of us when it came to presentations and was even available to assist us if needed. Honestly, just have your topic prepared, be ready for your speech and that's all that matters. Attendance wise, I think he's pretty lenient so long as you know what you have to do.

took him fall 2023 and planing to take him again because I have to take theater class. His class was easy, if you have a hard time to speak in public don't worry! He helps you a lot to overcome your fear, all you have to do is to do your speeches and tadah you good to go!

He's a great teacher, but attendance is really important to him. If you miss a day for your presentation, he gets really upset and might not let you present unless you give him a reason. Overall, he's really nice. He understands, but you can't BS him because he will see right through it.

Very good prof, gets straight to the point and is easy to connect with. He made everyone in the class feel welcome and comfortable. However, he is strict about attendance, especially on speech days, unless you have a very valid reason. overall will deff recommend him!

Prof. Papoutsis is an amazing speech teacher, i am taking the summer class and he is so refreshing to have a class with because of his want to laugh and have fun. Speaking online to my camera is very easy so I'm sure the class will just flow by. he does tend to go on tangents though but it passes the time well.

This professor is probably the best even if you're not a good speaker he will always help you improve. I was a very shy person in the beginning but he's very encouraging, funny, and supportive. Gives amazing feedback which actually helps. And the thing that I liked most about him is that he doesn't make you feel bad for saying something wrong.

Honestly he's an amazing professor. If you are taking his speech class, he grades 3 speeches (the first was to see your level). Just make sure to give good eye contact and know what you're saying and he gives you an A.
