He is the best math professor at BMCC. He explains the subject thoroughly and cares whether or not you pass.

I took him for summer school and even though he crammed alot into one lecture he offers his time to make sure you understand and offers more than enough options for you to pass. Good Job.

Took him in Fall 2002 (quite long ago). At that time, he gave four exams, one of them was take-home and the final was MC, and he would drop the lowest exam grade. Not sure if he still does the same now. Very helpful, available all the time (he is the vice chair. of the department). No regret.

If you want to learn math, do it with this man. He is intelligent, hardworking, and is even the head of the math department. He gives handouts of chapters and you never have to write a note throughout the entire class since he also handout notes fully typed with examples. It's a forgone conclusion that you dont need the textbook. He is an Easy A!!!

I was extremely scared of the whole concept of Calculus but Prof. Felix made it easy, fun and understandable. This is a Prof. that actually care and is an overall good teacher!

Very nice guy, take him if you want to learn. His tests are not hard but the material itself is kinda complicated, so you need to practice a lot in this course.He gives extra credit homework to turn in, drops the lowest grade out of 4. NO complaint at all.

This man is god sent esp. for Precal. At 8:00AM he makes Precal seem GOOD. He is a good professor and he does want you to pass.However there are few students out there did got C and even lower. My point is he is a strict grader and slighty bit harsh matter of fact.Dont get me wrong,he is a good professor.I just think he is a bit too over rated. Took his summer math 206, very helpful and easy professor, very smooth. Taking him now for math 301, same thing. MUST do hwk for extra points on the test. Easy A if you do well on the test plus all your homework points which you cant go wrong. He gets down on his knees to write on the board, man, who ever does that?

First off, I'm terrible at math! If you're like me, this man makes it possible for you to actually comprehend what you never thought you would. Extremely kind, courteous, patient, intelligent and down to earth! He cares about his students! Stays after class to help you (even after 3 straight hrs!)You MUST do HW to keep up. A must at any level math!

NO ONE does it like Felix. Incredibly patient, always enthusiastic, he is one of the most naturally gifted teachers I've ever encountered. In one week he knew everyone's name, first time I've seen that. The class SEEMS easy because you learn the material. Take him and you will master Calc I and have fun doing it. He fully prepares you for Calc II.

If you are looking to get an "A", take him on as your professor. I dislike math, but he knows how to example things well and is too patient at times. Complete all of your homework assignments, it will only improve your overall grade. He loves to teach students and is fair to all.

Felix is great, but be warned, his saturday Calculus class is no joke. He has to move quick because there is alot of material to cover. If you do HW you'll be fine. If not, you'll do poorly. Three exams each worth 27% and three Lab projects worth a total of 20% (you get a free 1%). He gives make-up exams for the first two exams. Great Prof.

In my opinion I think Prof. Felix is best suited for remedial courses. I took him for MAT056,206 and 301. However, I did not do so well in MAT206 and I had to drop MAT301. His calculus exams are very difficult! Do not take his Saturday class.

Prof. Felix is great and fun. He's one of the professors that will go an extra mile to help you. He listens to each student trying to answer any question, no matter how dull it is. Explanations are clear. Sometimes he can be too fast, but he is willing to go over the problem again if asked. Very fair grader. I would definitely recommend him.

What a great guy. Prof. Felix is so dedicated to what he teaches, you can tell he loves math and enjoys the fact that students can learn calculus through his easy going personality. Do the projects, keep up with the daily homeworks, and you'll be fine; but what's even more important, know you'll leave his class having learned a lot.

He also goes back to the problems over and over again should we fail to understand it. He is always on time and the teaching environment he creates is fun and interestingly casual. He sends out daily or weekly notes of a copy of his personal math notes via e-mail so we can catch up on lost classes. His exams are very similar to the practice papers.

This Professor is great! I've never had interest in Math, but after taking his class in summer I'm obsessed in studying math. His morning classes aren't boring as he creates a fun environment. He explains everything in depth so that it is impossible to get lost. His exams are similar to practice tests, so if you study for them it is easy to pass.

He is amazing at teaching. His class was not so bad. It got harder during the middle on the semester. All your hws count as a test. Final test is optional. You need to work hard in order to get good grade and pass this class. Calculus is not easy but you can make it easy if you can make friends in the classroom from the first day. You will have 3 project , 3 exams and home work on online. So I recomend everyone make friend from begginning of the class and help each other out to pass and get good grade

Amazing person in and out, you'll definitely learn in his class. Grading is tough, don't expect marks if you just write something on the paper, content matters! Assignments, Weekly quizzes, project, midterms and finals - you'll be busy working entire semester for sure.

Class is lively and is always fun to go to. He also gives good feedback - he just wants everyone to do well. Tip: stay on top of your homework!

Flexible Felix is the man. I was scared to take precalc but his method of teaching, web assign, own notes, smart board, whiteboard and how cool he is made this one month weekend summer course much easier than expected. Come to class, stay on top of the hw, and do the practice tests to get your A. After all, Allan starts with A(but Felix has an F)!

Calculus on its own is a difficult course but every math class I thank God for Felix. He makes math much easier. Don't be fooled by the reviews b/c for you have to work for your grade. There is a ton of webassign hw, 3 maple projects, as well as 3 tests. The 2nd test was a killer but most of us got a retake. Register early, his class fill up fast.

He is great professor. he is funny and teaches well. He gives notes that is based on class. online assignment. 3 exams, one is optional and take 2 greatest grades. great great professor. i took MAT206 in spring then i am gonna take MAT 301 in fall even its a saturday class.

It's easy to get good grade in his class. All you have to do practice the review which he will provide for each exam. you will receive good grade but it will be hard for you to understand the concept of calculus. If you are lazy and wanted easy A than take him. But if you want to learn calculus than look for other professor.

Prof. Felix is a great and funny guy. I am horrible in Math so his teaching skills didn't benefit me 100% but he works with you as much as he can to ensure you obtain a decent grade. I'd like tests weekly as opposed to every other month. A lot of material in one test. Overall, he is cool. I'd take his class again.

I took him for pre calculus and I'm taking him again for calculus. Math in general is hard so this class is no walk in the park. Felix makes his grading criteria as clear as possible. He gives you a study guide with practice questions. If you master the study guide, you pass the test. Homework is ridiculous though, he counts it as a quiz grade.

If you want to learn some calculus you want to take his class. He cares, great lectures and a great guy overall!!! Extra credits for homework, reviewed all exams. Just listen to him and do ALL homework and you will not only pass but also gain some understanding of calculus!

Professor Felix the gem of BMCC. He is great at his lectures, plus his grading is geared for the students to pass. You will learn a lot in his class by just listening to him and doing the HW. As long as you do his practice exams and the HW, there should be a reason why you woulnt get an A.

His class is fair game. He sends class notes to your email. Hes super patient and silly . Took a winter course and he had 4 exams, one exam is just all the hw accumulated, the 4 is optional . If you take the 4th he drops the lowest .LOTS OF HW. Study the practice tests he sends you a week before, the test Qs are literally the same style diff. #s.

This man is a gift from God. All you have to do is his HW (its a lot not gonna lie)and practice the study guides for the tests he emails you. The study guides are literally the test but with different numbers . And the Hw accumulated is one exam. He is super nice and patient and he makes jokes to lighten the mood. Hands down my fav. Professor!

THE MAN! I never thought I would get an A on MAT 206.5. He is extremely intelligent, and has such a good sense of humor. He gives extra points and will help you with whatever you need. Be prepared for lots of homework, though.

One of the best professors thus far. You can ask him the same question 10 times and he will thoroughly explain it until you get it. His grading criteria is very clear. 3 exams including the final and he drops the lowest test grade. He gives his students review sheets before each exam. His exams are very similar to his review sheets.

Professor Felix is amazing. He is one of the nicest at BMCC. I took him for Cal 1 and he made me loved the class. His exams are easy, just make sure to practice his review questions and you'll be good to go. Also, he give points for just showing up to take the exams. He is incredibly good!!!

Professor Felix teaching skills could be better, he goes he really fast and you will learn everything by yourself or through math tutoring. His test are not hard and he has the homeowork counted as a test grade, and he does give extra credit on each test. But overall he is a good professor.

Took his class after reading the reviews. Best professor ever. MAT is a hard subject for me to understand and somehow he made it easy to understand. Plus he is funny.

SUBMIT WITH CONFIDENCE! Good prof, uses web assign. Comes to class prepared. Intermediate amount of HW but reasonable due dates. I would, however suggest not using him as your only resource and looking up professor Leonard on YouTube or something. He saves trig and logs for the end which is a huge plus, gives you time to digest the material first

I enjoyed taking Professor Félix class this spring 2020. Just pay attention, study on your own, make friends in the class, keep up with the home-works(Because it is counted as an exam) and you will do fine. Take him you wouldnt regret it, trust me. :)

Prof Felix is a solid choice. There are three exams. Your lowest score is dropped out of the first two exams but not the final, which is a huge plus. He uploads videos explaining the problems on BB though he won't help you out more than that. There is some extra credit. You can't go wrong taking him.

An easy A if you regularaly study

Professor Felix is an amazing teacher. He is accessible outside class, and his video lectures are pretty good. He gives practice before an exam and goes over what we need to study. He has 3 exams and drops the lowest grade. I learned a lot from his class.

I took him for this winter session asynchronous, honestly best math professor BMCC could ever have, he is beyond amazing, respond very quick to email, give extra credit, always ready to explain when you dont understand, whoever hate math take him he will make you love math best professor ever!!! God bless him

I took his MAT 301 class which was an asynchronous. And it was really great. The professor is very flexible and caring .Highly recommend!!!

Felix has a controversial reputation on rate my professor However, I just took this class and this was the most straight forward lecture of Calc 1. The final average for the entire class was a 100 and I passed this class with a 107. You just need to be on top of your game and it's your responsibility to be following along. He's also very funny

I don't get why prof. Felix has bad reviews; this professor is amazing! Yes, the content is heavy but it's not his fault, he gave us so many opportunities anyways and he is always accessible and very knowledgeable, take this professor!

If you want to understand calculus take this class. He explains everything thoroughly and makes understanding calculus less stressful. He gives a lot example problems for better understanding

I don't get the bad reviews! this professor is one of my favorites, he gave us so many opportunities to resubmit our assignments and also gave us extra credit on each exam just for showing up!!! who else does that? Professor Felix is amazing, and I wish I had him for my other MAT classes.

Great professor who clearly loves his job. I took him for the 5 week summer course, so we didn't have enough time to properly go over everything. That being said, he had full lessons available in the form of videos where he went over everything. Watch the videos and you'll excel!

Excellent professor. Explains material with precision and clarity, provides helpful videos, and always willing to review your mistakes after exams. Just stay on top of the work and you'll do fine.
