He is lazy so that you can't ask question if you are not in the class. It's hard to catch him but he is really funny and nice. If he has time to answer questions, it's ok! he also cancel class a lot!!!! I do like him!

Lacayo will go out of his way to help you with the material for quizzes and tests. Highly recommend taking 240 since it's a major pre req for many UC's and CSU's. I couldn't thank him enough for all of his extraordinary help.

All his tests are open book but that doesn't mean it's easy. You have to really get a grasp on the material or having the book during the test doesn't even help. He is very willing to help, so make sure you can make it to his lab hours and you'll do fine. (BTW You only need the online book, the physical book isn't necessary.)

Excellent teacher, but little messy though. I took his Bus Stadistics class, he's sensible to your needs, He reminded me of Carlos Mencia, funny, super smart & laidback. He will accept late hw and quizzes, he extends death lines, gives take home midterms. Show him you want to do the work, and he will hook you up.

He is really helpful. willing to be there every step of the way. Funny. He is strict though when it comes to tests. Lab hour is not mandatory but if you don't go it is unwise.

Allen's an awesome dude. His sardonic wit and nonchalant attitude make the class lots of fun. He sounds like Ricky Ricardo, and is quite friendly. He's helpful, and has an extremely gracious ear. He's easygoing and considerate. While his jokes can be a bit long in the tooth, his style of teaching is personable and fun. It's an easy A!

Exams are fairly straightforward. Lecture info is very useful, but you must actually read the textbook prior to class. Alan really encourages multiple perspectives in class discussion.

Allan is hilarious! I was always guaranteed a laugh each time i came to this class. He is more than happy to help you out if you have a problem, you just have to see him during lab hours. Easy A for me. I intended to take the final but slept right through it. I let him know and he said that I didn't have to take it because I already had an A in the class. He does go off into tangents but you learn a lot from the tangents and they are very interesting!

Berkeley educated, but knows how to break complicated matters down to everyday life. Econ, Math/stats, Accounting, Real Estate. he may not be the most responsible when it comes to answering his email, but he's around to ask questions. Hybrid - homework is done using Pearson accounting lab.

He is sooo funny! Breaks everything down to examples that students can relate to. You get so many tries for homework and quiz there's no way you can't get full points on those. 2 out of 3 exams are online, and a lot of the exam questions come straight from homework with the same answer. As long as you do the work it should be an easy A.

Easiest teacher I have had at school yet. All you need to do is show up to class, do the homework and quizzes online (which don't take up hours of your time) and ask questions in lab and class and you will pass the tests no problem. Attendance isn't mandatory but will reflect poorly on your grades because his lectures are important. Best Teacher!

Wonderful teacher, I can not say enough good things about him. He wants you to learn the material, he's helpful and makes himself very available to his students. He has tons of office hours where he's available to help out in the computer lab. His lectures are helpful and entertaining- he's got a great sense of humor. The course work is hard.

It's a hard class, but the way that Alan structures it is that there is way more points given to you throughout the semester than you need to actually pass the class with an A. He's always at lab and is willing to help you with homework. If you want to do the work to do well with in the class there's nothing to worry about.

Good teacher but basically you read the book at home and then he answers questions in class. Bring your laptop to class and do the problems with him as he does them. Allan is a super cool guy. He's really laid back and really flexible with his student's schedules . Only thing is a lot of classes he'll just talk on and on without telling you how to do the homework which is annoying but if you ever need help he'll help you one on one in lab. He rambles on A LOT in his lectures so I often have to teach myself everything on my own. If you want to learn the material from a prof then don't take him. He is generous with the extra credit! The material is relatively easy and if you ever have a question he can go over it in class or ask him in lab hours. Lab is non mandatory along with class.

Allen is really there to help you. He provides many times to see him in lab and if he misses lab he makes it up, he also changes the due dates on assignments giving students more time to finish. Just show up and you'll be good!

Bus stats during the summer can be a challenge but allan provides extra credit in all of his assignments so you can still get a good grade without doing well on the exams. Quizzes and exams are open book/note. He also makes lectures fun with his jokes and ties in real world situations with what you learn.

I'm very fortunate to have landed in Professor Lacayo's class I could not have found a better teacher for me to learn Statistics. He makes students feel comfortable and uses humor (a lot!) He aligns the material with real world examples which makes it a lot easier to grasp. I'm actually enjoying the subject, which I thought I would never say.

Professor Lacayo is an intelligent man who knows how to make stats fun and interesting with his amazing personailty. The class is self driven and mainly online so you must have the motivation to pass but lectures and relaxed and in an open forum style. Very helpful inside and outside of class.

I rarely showed up to class because the online assignments were easy enough to complete on my own. But he is very helpful when you visit him during his available lab/office hours. We use the MyStatLab during the whole course to complete HW and tests, there was one in-person test that was so easy and the final was online

Nice and funny professor but tends to ramble off topic A LOT. Attendance was not mandatory. All exams and homework assignments were online and he didn't give out too much homework, which was nice. He prepared us well for the exams with a practice test. Overall, easy-going professor and class.

Math is not my strong suit. Statistics? No way. Somehow managed to pull off a high B in the class though. A lot of it thanks to Allan's unique way of teaching and entertaining lectures. He was very understanding of a family emergency of mine later in the semester. Take his class, you won't regret it.

Goes by the point system. 1000 for an A. Not hard to achieve at all. Everything is online (hw, quizzes, exams). Statcrunch is your best friend, since its basically how you do anything in the class. Honestly, the textbook wasnt even necessary. Just buy the online code, and youre good. Attendance was optional. Lectures are very long and tedious.

Fantastic Instructor! He walks you through problems step-by-step, and he comes across as a very caring instructor. I didn't feel that the textbook was necessary though, as tests, quizzes, and homework are typically done online. Overall, he made the class seem MUCH more interesting than any other professor's I have had in the past.

Got a 68% in Pearson but got an A in the class. Showed up to less than 50% of the lectures and went to 4 or 5 of the labs and got an A. If you're a business major and want to learn the material, take Lacayo and show up everyday. If you're not a business major, it's a free A. Chill teacher, straight forward online work, one exam in class, easy A.

I took his class in the summer and I'm gonna be honest..... This was by far the easiest course I've taken at DVC. Submit all the work and tests, and if you're struggling, he has Zoom calls once a week to help you. He also offers some extra credit towards the end of the semester. Easiest Stats class hands down.

Everything goes Pearson and you will have three attempts to check the answer from homework. At the end of the semester, he sets discussion as extra credit. Overall, easy A but takes time.

I took BUS 240 and ECON 221 with him, and there are lots of homework. Each chapter has reading, a quiz, and homework, usually three chapters a week. It requires time to complete all assignments, but he provided extra credits at the end of the semester, which can boost B to A. Overall, it's easy A. If you don't earn an A, you suck.

there's a lot of homework but the answers are all online and he allows u to take all of the homework assignments and quizzes unlimited times with in and out privileges as well as unlimited time. The exam answers are also online and have unlimited time and up to 2 tries. He takes all of your highest scores. I never used the textbook. Just do the hw.

Professor Allan was so enthusiastic, that he gave students his personal contact email and phone number, he replied so fast and was willing to help anytime even on weekends. He gives 2 extra credits at the end of the semester which was so easy and he will give you full credits for it.

Professor Allen is amazing. I dislike math and with his instructions i learned to appreciate it. He gave out his personal phone# in case we had issues with homework outside of his class hours. He is extremely knowledgeable and breaks things down to lamest terms. I highly encourage anyone to take his classes. He cares about his students.

Professor Allen is a cool Bus Stats teacher. His instructions are clear and the class itself is somewhat hard. He gives you so many tries to pass the homework assignments in the class which is great.

Professor Lacayo is one of the best professors. His lectures are straight forward, and attendance is not mandatory. All of his homework and lab works are online and he gives a lot of tries in order for us to get the answers right.

Took a while to respond to emails, but if you're taking this as an online course be sure not to wait till the last minute to do everything. Learning the material will be harder for you, so I recommend splitting the work up since he doesn't really have a set due date.

START EARLY!!! All assignments in this asynchronous class were due at the end of the semester, so I procrastinated until the last month which made things stressful. The class isn't too hard since there's a lab and a test due every week, but don't let it pile up. Also, he's a great professor, and the grading criteria were clear and made it easier.

I took this course nonsynchronously. The class runs by points that add up to your grade. The course is a hefty workload. However, there is lots of extra credit outside to increase your points. If you're consistent in doing the work, you'll get an A. Professor Allan Lacayo has office hours, and he is always there to help and he's also very nice.

No midterm or final exams. Classes can be boring & @ times goes on long rants. Allows you to record the lectures to reference back. He requires a $150 stats program which has the textbook, assignments & tests all on there. He doesn't grade anything through Canvas till the end of the semester. Overall easy class to earn credit and he's nice.

Professor Lacayo's BUS240 class is manageable with dedication. The workload is heavy, but the retake policy and helpful feedback make it worthwhile. Using unstuck AI alongside the textbook helped me stay on track.

Take his class! He provides clear instructions, he's super helpful, gives extra credit, and he wants you to succeed. He's funny so his lectures go by quickly. He's not super responsive through email but he provides his phone number in the syllabus if any questions are urgent. Go to his lab hours and record his lectures and you will succeed.

Just completed an anonymous survey and Allan is the only professor that makes me want to actually put anything which says a lot. It's extremely apparent how invested Allen is in his students success. Only 350 characters are allowed so I have to cut this short. Long story short: 1,000% take his class. 2 months in Never had a better professor,ever.

There was an assignment and a quiz every week and sometimes there was 2 assignments and 2 quizzes a week. But ngl this class is pretty simple and easy, just show up the first couple of weeks to undertand the tools given to you, then you dont really have to show up and can just do the work online. He is a very nice and funny professor tho.

Honestly, Professor Allan is amazing, he doesn't want to make it hard for his students. Attendance is not mandatory and he doesn't deduct points for late work. Everything is done through Pearson, so you do have to pay for it, but honestly worth it. If you want to breeze through stats take this class. The class is 10/10

There's a lot of great things from his class, his lectures were clear, he repeats instructions when students are confused, he tries to relate it to real life examples and he's just an overall caring professor, 10/10 would take him again. His assignments are also do able and he have lab hours after if we're confused or need help.
