Ms. Davis is so funny, and so helpful. I always enjoyed her class. She grades fairly--but is focused on "improving your writing practices," so definitely don't write your essay last minute. This class was SO fun, and really I learned a lot. It didn't really feel like it at the time, but I did. She has great stories, lots of knowledge...

I hate reading poetry, but otherwise this was a good class. She even made not-totally-awful to read poetry. She has us read some cool stuff and i liked the discussions. I can't believe how nicefunnyhelpful Ms Davis was ... I wish I could take her again.

Rubrics for every essay. Not many essays. Lets you rewrite one essay. I didn't like all the readings, but I guess that's going to happen in English class. You need the book for sure, but she knows her stuff. Cool paper topics - your first essay is about a movie and you get to pick it. I enjoyed it even though I thought I would hate it.

She's "literally" the best prof ever. I learned a lot and couldn't believe how fast everything seemed. Only 2 essays. Kind of a lot of reading, but it's a lit course so seems unavidable. The stuff we read was all mostly recent and pretty entertaining or interesting some times. Better than so many of my friends and other people's 1302 profs.

Favorite TCC profe. Actually knows what she's talking about (rare at TCC). Funny and not rude. Will help and answer all your questions. Actually answers emails. Understands if you have to miss

She's like Captain America. We learned a lot and this was the best, most fun, most educational class ever. She ALWAYS has coffee - be scared if she doesn't. She relates literature to The Walking Dead and Supernatural... and Captain America. Made difficult literature fun. Hilarious teacher. Clear criteria for all assignments.

Ms. D is funny & keeps it real. She wants you to know what you're doing. This is not an easy "I'm going to write my essay at the last minute" kind of class. I did well in high school Engl & I ended the class with a big fat D because I thought I'd glide through w/ my HS knowledge. Pay attn. & do your wk. Can't make-up daily wk. Go to class

The most important lesson I learned was that jet fuel cannot melt steel beams. Davis gave a great in class example of jet fuel burning temp (800-1500F) vs steel beam melt point (2750F). Not only a welder by night, Davis also manages to use memes in every presentation. A true patriot.

Prof. Davis is a hilarious, intelligent, and helpful teacher. The course has 4 essays, a few quizzes, and easy daily grades. The final is one of the easiest I've ever taken. I'd say the most difficult part is improving each essay with what feedback she gives on your past writings. Overall an amazing professor and would definitely recommend.

Ms D Is probably the best "explainer" I've ever met. Definitely the best one I've had a prof. It's not so much that it's easy but everything is clear and organized. Powerpoints on point! Everything gets put in Blackboard. SHE STAYS ON THE SYLLABUS all semester - amazing. Don't stress about the final, but you will have to write. Don't skip -

Are you kidding? She's the best. THE BEST. Clear, organized, supportive, responds to you, answers questions. Lessons are usually funny. Lol. Not too much reading - two or three essays - cool discussions. Never keeps you guessing. You actually learn but it's not painful. Listens, stays after class to help you. Fun class.

Overall great at teaching! :P Although she tries too hard to be hip (she overdoes memes) and she is overly politically correct which can be annoying. She seems to have a liberal bias when it comes to certain things, but overall she is great professor, just learn how to ignore her little arrogant remarks

Pretty good - recommend this prof for a class you have to take anyway. I've dropped this class twice before and ended up with a B this time out. Not easy but not ridiculous like some English teachers can be. Didn't fall behind on syllabus or grading, like everyone seems to!!!

the only bad part is you have to buy the book and you have to write a couple papers, but i think that's the case in all English classes anyway. she actually taught me a lot about literature and writing, even though I'm not the best at writing, but nothing in this class was painful or boring. funny!!

I've taken Ms D for a few classes over the years and I wish she taught every subject. She is hilarious, she knows what's she talking about, and she can actually help you becomes a better writer. More than that, she can actually make you want to be a better writer!! and believe that you can be. I know that sounds corny, but it's true! :) Take her!

I took her class last spring and just checked to see if she was teaching anything else this fall, since I wanted to take another class with her.

Someone in my class thinks she's "intimidating" BECAUSE she is "so credible" and knows "so much,'' I feel like some ppl have just never had a good teacher before because MS DAVIS IS THE COOLEST. She does expect a lot but its not like you can get out this class without writing a research paper no matter who the teacher is, so, take her, she's FUNNY.

I LOOK FORWARD TO THIS CLASS WHICH IS INSANE because I actually don't like English class and this one I feel like is making me prepared for going to a university. SO good. TAaaaake her.

I personally enjoyed her class. I never need to worry about my deadlines. She gives more than usual chances anyone can expect. She teaches in a very friendly way. She tries to scare us about the assignments but if you notice carefully, she actually just want you to work. Thumbs up for her. Great experience.

Mrs. Davis was amazing I would actually look forward to this class. Fun class and grades are straight forward no pop quizzes or anything like that. Follows the syllabus religiously so you always know what the lecture is about and anything that is due or needed before class.

Ahhhh I love this class! I am so glad she's teaching it again online!!!!! If you're going to take Creative Writing - take this one. I am a much better writer, and I've been submitting things for publication ever since I took it.

English class with research paper isn't going to be easy, but at least this class was fun and interesting, and at least Ms Davis is a real person whose funny and undesrtands real life. This is my third time taking this clsas beacuse research papers kill, but this time I'm gonna make it!

You don't actually need the book - I found all the literature online and in other places and never bought the book... All the lessons and powerpoints and actual her teaching stuff is in Blackboard so you're good. Not many essays.

Mrs. Davis is a great teacher! I took her online and almost everything assignment had feedback in the grade book, which is fantastic for improving your writing skills. If you take her in the summer there is a lot of assignment, she had 15 weeks of work in 5 weeks, but it is doable! I would defiantly take her again if I could!

She tells you how your grade was assigned and gives you good advice. Totally fair, nothing is too hard, and she cares a lot about you. It's so clear. Sometimes grading takes like a week but that'sokay with me because there's actually real comments on EVERYTHING - even dbs. The online class is laid out so clearly from the start. Great prof!!!

I liked her class and her online teaching. She always responded to emails. Did take a minute to grade longer work. Always got feedback on stuff. ONLY THREE ESSAYS cant beat that.

Professor Davis walks you through 3 steps of creative writing. Poetry, essay, and short story lessons are detailed and you are required to write 1 of each. Discussion and group participation are also mandatory. You learn a lot in this class and the pace is not overwhelming if you just do what is assigned. She was very good at responses questions.

At first she seems like a hard grader but at the end, she wants everybody to pass. I took her online and Assignment every week. 3 big essays and the final is just a reflective question. She is very understanding and always happy to answer any questions. She takes long to grade paper. Her feedback is okay.

I took her online class. She only gives one assignment per week and grades fairly. The only complaint I had was the amount of time it took for her to grade. There were times when I had between a month or two of ungraded assignments. Like I said though, she's not too tough on grading so all is well. I would recommend her. The book is only about $60.

Im really glad that I took this for my Comp 2, she was really clear on her grading and expectations and I never once felt overwhelmed with her class, she was very understanding and I would take again if I had to.

Easy A, took her during summer 1 and I would do it again. She responds to emails fast. Takes a while to grade but she always sends out reminders to students about upcoming due dates.

She is a fun teacher who is really passionate about literacy. She gives a reasonable amount of work but it is never too much to handle. You have usually 1 thing due a week and it's always due on the same day. She makes the class fun, with audio instructions and fun bitmojis! I would take her again.

Normal amount of work, fairly graded, with rubrics used for everything. I also appreciated the extra credit webinars we got to do like every month. It's honestly clear she cares about you and will help with anything. Love her!

I took Professor Davis online. I would definitely recommend! She has clear grading criteria, very organized, and posts regular reminders. She is not a harsh grader and she truly cares for her students.

She's a great professor. Took her onlithis month for a Maymester. I had so much anxiety going into this class, but she's not nearly as tough of a grader as I've read on here. She knows English can be challenging and that we're in her class to LEARN. She's very respected and very caring- she doesn't want you to feel lost. Very responsive to emails.

As English is my second language, I was just worried about passing this class. I took her during Maymester and ended up with B. She is much caring and understanding. She is not a tough grader as long as you have content there. If English is your second language and worrying about passing Com 2, I would strongly recommend her.

Caring, fun, flexible - extra credit webinars and not too hard with grading

Let me start by saying English isn't my strong area. I found this class to be fairly reasonable. So far we've had 5 journals, 3 essays( the 3rd essay is a research essay 5-6 pages long), and a few other writing assignments. She also gives extra credit in the form of webinars which is great. The only downside is she doesn't grade in a timely manner.

Not a tough grader. The assignments are pretty average, not too difficult. My only complaint is that she takes forever to grade assignments.

Pretty obvious from the moment you open the course that she goes above and beyond to make the class interesting and easy to use. My fifth online class, and the on;y one where I haven't had to argue with a prof because this one IS LEGIT - cares, makes sense, gives chances, not out to "get" you. Essay take long to grade but everything else is good

She is a very tough grader and gives very little to no feedback. It takes her 3-4 weeks to grade assignments, but she does offer extra credit and she is very helpful and positive. She loves what she does and will help in any way she can if you reach out to her. Just be prepared to work really hard on essays, and still receive a B. BD grades are A.

Good class -took Wintermester. No issues its clear from the start what to do. Graded pretty quickly esp the essays. Funny and nice prof.

She was amazing. Bless her heart. Took her this wintermester. Was so nervous because of the amount of time he had. English is my worst subject but she made it double. 3 weeks of lots of hard work. Very caring and gives good feedback. No cap I would take her again. Would recommend taking a week off from a full time job like I did. God bless her!!!

My best online class so far. She lets you know what to expect, is totally flexible about deadlines and due dates, and keeps you updated. I've had instructors who make me wonder if they're even human (or still alive), and she isn't one of them. Always available and answers every question with great detail. So helpful and understanding!!!!

She understands that life gets in the way sometimes and is able to give extensions when necessary as long as you contact her before the assignment is due. One of the best teachers i have had if not the best. Highly recommend!

Miss Davis was a ray of sunshine. I enjoyed the material that had to be read and she provided good and timely feedback.

I loved taking this class. I was worried when there was group items involved, but the group feedback was very beneficial and the best part was my grade did not evolve around anyone else's work. If they do it or don't do it, you are still responsible for your grade. Do the work and you'll pass. I would highly recommend this professor.

VERY good online class. I'm not one for online at all but this was clear and she was super understanding if you needed an extra day also lots of help and always answers emails.

Take her!!! Dont not procrastinate register for her class! You will not regret it! She will work with you on due dates! You will learn a lot and love her curriculum as well as short stories! She gives great feedback on writing assignments, has extra credit, flexible about deadlines, very nice!! Yes there is group work but it does help and you don't lose any points if someone else is slacking. I legit think I am a better writer.

Great WIntermester. There are no tests in this course - only discussions, journals, papers, etc... No quizzes. Some grades are completion - do it and get 100. The best part is she replies to you really quickly and answers your questions even if you ask a milliong questions. NOT A STICKLER AT ALL - just wants you to learn

I'm almost done with hercomp 2 class for the wintermester and it's been ridiculously easy. just discussion boards and essays. She accepts late work within a couple days no problem at all and is good about sending reminders and stuff

Just finishing this course. Very flexible and understanding, you get your grades back in like 1-2 weeks, and she reminds you when things are do. Class is very organized and set up clear. Only 2 major essays!!

I accidentally enrolled in an accelerated Comp II class with Ms. Hanna and expected it to be unbearable but this professor made it a breeze. She was very caring and allowed late submissions for every assignment but the final. Gave great feedback on essays and made sure we understood the concepts discussed in the book. I vehemently recommend her.

I HIGHLY recommend for you to take her class. The course is very easy and she is crystal clear with instructions. I havent attended school in over ten years so to pass this class with an A online motivated and gave me so much confidence. She truly cares about your success and is willing to work with you if you have any issues.

I have taken this professor for two, about to be three classes. She can have multiple assignments each week, but reading and responding to the prompts are relatively easy as long as you maintain the workflow of your assignments. I highly suggest Ms. Davis for ENGL 1302, and ENGL 2307 (Creative Writing) if you have the opportunity. Also ENGL-2341.

I took the fast paced course and did not get a lot of feedback from her. Assignments were a lot of work but do able if you stay on task.

AWESOME English professor!! If I had to describe her in one word, id say, "inspirational" Great sense of humor, she creates a very positive environment.

It's clear she cares about you... takes late work, sends reminders, lets your resubmit, etc. The class is fun and positive and I appeciated her encouragement. Never had a issue with getting grades.

I took her for creative writing & she was the best teacher ever. I'm an English major so I found the work to be fun. Essays are 200-400 then you have stories which range from 1000-6000. The work is not hard at all, it would be extremely hard to fail. She always would reply if i had any questions. She' a great teacher, I'd take her again if i would.

I love the way the class was set up into peer groups, and the assignments themselves were very cool. She is probably the most understanding professor I've ever had, if you need to take a day or two to submit work, she allows it, no questions asked. I just wish I had gotten some more feedback from her!

Professor Hanna was an amazing English professor. She showed extreme passion and care for role as a teacher. There was a lot of reading, but she was very reasonable with timing and expectations. I would most definitely take her class again.

Hanna is the one professor that I've taken multiple courses with, if that tells you anything. She is understanding of life getting in the way of things. Her assignments are interesting and relevant. Very reachable and approachable. She can be slow to grade things, but keep in mind that she has several sections and reading tons of essays takes time!

She emails back and is never mean, which is a weird thing to say but sometimes professors make you feel bad and she doesnt. Recommend!

Prof. Hanna's class has a fair workload - essays, weekly assignments, and engaging readings. She's understanding and will work with you on deadlines. Unstuck Study AI was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, an enjoyable and manageable English class.

Just got done taking her class in may semster which is only 2 weeks long - that was tough but she is easy to work with and responds fast. No textbook to buy and she posted announcements for major assignments with good information. Grades were fair - too much reading for me but again I was taking the whole class in two weeks lol

Had her for ENGL 1302 Maymester phenomenal! I had a few personal issues, but with good communication, we worked around it. She's super thoughtful and understanding. Expect 2 assignments daily one being a discussion board. lots of reading. Total of 20 assignments and 3 essays. Wish I had her for 1301 too. Take her if you can!

insanely easy grader; I got majority 100s on everything and probably wouldve ended with an A+ if I didnt forget to turn in a couple assingments. i took online engl-2333 and it was a lot of homework with random due dates like tuesdays and thursdays and fridays and saturdays. but, not crazy bad. super chill prof! super nice!
