Great class!

Dr. Butt is amazing!!! He is a super funny guy and makes the class material ve3ry understandable. He takes real life examples and uses it to make course material like common knowledge. TAKE HIS CLASSES!!!! He make you laugh, and tells butt jokes!!!

I personally loved the class, Dr. Butt was a great lecturer and was extremely straight forward, he followed the syllabus and was easy to get ahold of. The classroom was a positive environment where I felt free to ask any questions or make contributions to the lecture. Read the book, study, listen ask questions in class and you will do just fine!

This was my favorite class this semester. His lectures were both educational & engaging. He applied real life situations to the text. Everything was straight forward wno surprises & he really prepared everyone for the tests by giving lecture notes ahead of time and saying know this for the test. I would definitely take this professor again.

If you go to class, do the readings and study you will pass with an A. He tells you what is going to be on the tests and what to study for. any negative comments on here are more than likely from students who did not attend his lectures. Awesome professor and likes to make students laugh! Will def. be taking a class w. him again!

Dr. Butt was a great professor. I didn't think that I would like this course, but he made it very enjoyable and interesting. His lectures were easy to listen and he was very funny! He was really straight forward about what would be on quizzes on tests. Reading the textbook and studying the lecture notes he provided made it easy to get an A.

I retook the class for personal brush-up and found Dr. B to be engaging, funny and helpful. Furthermore, I had some crises this semester and he gave me more chances than I honestly deserved to do the make-up work. You need to actually learn the subject material, though he makes it fascinating. Neuropsych is my focus. He's my favorite teacher so far

I had him for Learning and Memory. He teaches other classes as well. I'd say he is great in teach ing boring subjects. He is fun and expects you to read and explains the important part of the chapters and that is what he tests on. He will start using clickers in the Spring of 2016 for attendance and weekly quizzes.

He genuinely cares about your grade and makes class interesting. He makes the class laugh and can make a boring topic interesting and makes a topic clear. However, he does tend to go on tangents and get off topic and will spend too long explaining a topic. Lecture covers the readings so if you attend class you don't really need to read much.

This Professor was amazing!!! He really cares about his students. Typically online classes make it difficult to get to know your Professor or for them to get to know you. However, I could tell that he wanted to get to know all of us, which made it easier for me to email him with any questions I had. He definitely makes you feel welcomed! Loved him!

I would highly recommend taking this professor for courses. I actually really enjoyed taking his class which is not so common in college! He is so very fair, gives meaningful material, he really wants student to learn and pass his course!

Professor Butt is phenomenal! I took his online Psychology of Learning and Memory and was blown away. We had so many resources available to us and he gave lengthy feedback on work (because he actually gives a crap about his students). He literally gives you every opportunity to get an A in the class. I mean that :) Excellent Professor!!

Really funny and cool guy. He made the boring/hard topics easy to understand and interesting. There were 3 exams and 8 quizzes which many of the test questions came from. Overall it was a pretty easy course (if you pay attention of course) and he actually cares about his students and helps them. One of the best unm professors in my opinion!

Professor Butt always kept us informed of what was going on. He made the class exciting which made it enjoyable to learn the material. Taking again next semester!

Show up, go to entertaining lectures with i-clickers, go home, take the quizzes and the tests online, and repeat. This is an easy class if you just do the (not entirely time-consuming) quizzes and tests. Dr. B's lectures are interesting and he has a great dry wit that makes it worthwhile. You don't need the textbook, just the online access code.

Lots of knowledge, and helps to make learning fun, and easy.

If you going to take any classes for Psychology always check for his name first. He's a great teacher who cares and is well respected. He is straight forward. He hates cell phone so show some respect and he'll give it back. Points are required to pass so make an effort in attendance. He uses i clickers well as publishers on-line quizes.

What I love about Dr. Butts class is that if you do the online quizzes for the chapters, you will do fine on the tests because you will remember the answers for taking the quizzes for the hw and you will be able to answer the quizzes in class with high accuracy! Also, simply attending his lectures is best. Often times the quiz questions are related

Dr. Butt is wonderful! His lectures are very clear, interesting, and he is funny. He is also really nice, and gives extra credit. As long as you read the assigned readings and take the online quizzes, as well as go to class for participation points you will do great in this class. I would highly recommend taking a class with Dr. Butt.

Dr. B's Learning and Memory online course is great! He has great power points, you can take the quizzes as many times as you'd like, and his reviews really prepare you for the exams. The coursework is challenging, but interesting, and you will do well as long as you keep up with the work.

quizzes that are in class are mainly the ones that show up on tests so I would totally try and take notes on those questions. He is a fun professor.

Dr. Butt is PHENOMENAL! I would recommend that if you have a chance to take him, do it. He makes lectures fun, loves to joke, can get side tracked pretty easily. He surely knows his stuff, and is very passionate about psychology. Has a thing about cell phones but being in his class you won't even want to check your phone.

Dr. B is really funny and makes the lectures a lot of fun. You learn everything you need in lecture really. If you go to class you should do okay in the class.

Overall, its a great class to take a Easy A. But he expects from a online class to give group work which was difficult. But weekly test and discussion. He really cares for his work

He's simply an amazing professor. I took learning and memory with him and enjoyed every minute of that class. His lectures are amazingly intriguing and engaging. I honestly can't recommend him highly enough. He is quite passionate and speaks quickly, so it's certainly advantageous to be fully awake.

3 exams (in-class, with iClickers), 6 quizzes (also iClickers), and participation points (again, iClickers). Exams are mostly repeats of quiz questions, which are mostly repeats of participation questions. So, easy to get an A, if you pay attention. Lectures are entertaining, as are Dr. Butt's antics. Could probably get an A without the textbook.

Dr. Butt is a great teacher. His online class was very straight forward on what was expected of you. Tests are open note/book and online so super easy. I personally enjoy Neuroscience so taking Brain&Behavior was 100% enjoyable for me. Totally recommend!

One of the best professors that I have had. He made everything very interesting and easy to understand. He was funny and really made you want to go to class. You need to use your iclicker and go to class. No phones in class, but honestly, why would you need it? Exams were straight forward from lectures.

Amazing professor and really knows what he is talking about. He keeps you on your toes and you will really learn from him. Get ready to read the textbook and take a lot of tests. He gives extra credit which really helps your grade. He is understanding and easy to work with. A little spacey but over all an amazing teacher.

Brain and behavior was fun to learn. He has lecture videos to watch if you don't want to read. MindTap and quizzes are pretty easy. Requires online discussion from time to time. He extends deadlines for online work too. GREAT CLASS!

He is tough, but fair. He lectures in an interesting way. If you go to class and actively participate in the discussion, it will be great! You actually LEARN in his classes.

A lot of people say Jackson is the best psych professor on campus, well if you want to actually learn something then take your classes with Dr. Butt. He is very smart, very funny, and tells butt jokes a lot. You can really feel his passion for psychology when he teaches, and that is why he keeps winning awards for his teaching! Always take Butt!

Dr.B made learning fun and easy to learn. He is constantly making jokes which makes the class less boring.

Dr. B is a fantastic professor. His lectures are interesting and he's hilarious. He's willing to help and change the course as needed based off what's best for the students. Take one class with him and you'll see why he's so highly rated.

Butt is the best. He really knows what he's talking about, and he does it in such a hilarious way. He repeats things a lot, so it's easy to get the hang of all the concepts and it really makes it so you don't need the textbook. Only downside is he talks a lot and sometimes goes over the classtime, but not really a big deal.

Amazing professor and class! The only rough part of the course, if I should even say rough, was the discussion posts and participation. You have to actually read and understand the material and what you're talking about, but, the material is always interesting and never dull, so that is of no issue!His lectures are well put, and he is super helpful

The class doesn't have homework; the grade is based on 3 tests and 9ish quizzes. The final is non-cumulative. Participation is counted with clickers, and it makes up a good part of your grade. If you go to class, you will pass the exams/quizzes, for sure.

Dr. Butt was by far the best psychology teacher I've had. Participation, quizzes, and exams are done through iClicker. Didn't get the book, his lectures are all you need. He does not tolerate any kind of electronics usage, and will dock participation for the day if one is caught. My only real gripe with Butt is that he doesn't teach more courses.

Dr Butt is my all time favorite teacher. His lectures are hilarious.

He is super funny. His exams and quizes are litrally definitions in the book, they are also Clicker based. Gives so much extra credit. Literally best professor ever. Also the only psych class i enjoy attending.

Dr. B is a awesome teacher; he made class very interesting and fun, and loosened up the class with corny "butt" jokes. I would GREATLY recommend him as a teacher. Also, take advantage of the extra credit! There are multiple opportunities and they can raise your grade a bunch.

DR. B is amazing! He makes sure what is do for that week and gives you clear detail about the assignment his quizzes and exams are easy just make sure you pay attention to the material. If you need to take psychology take it with DR. B

Dr. Butt is by far the best professor I have ever had. Not only is he hilarious, but he makes the material relevant and he lays it out in such an eloquent and simple manner. I contemplated a lot of the things he said outside of class. It was honestly some of the most practically useful material and initiated a lot of introspection on my part.

Brain and behavior was a great class. Dr. B loves his job, knows what he is doing and his classes are very intriguing. Mandatory attendance, but wouldn't want to miss it anyways. His instructions are clear and concise and all his lectures pertain to his quizzes and tests. Great class! Great Professor!

Good lecturer. The only thing that really frustrated me about this professor was he did not grade any of our modules until the end of the course so I couldn't really tell if I was doing well or not.

Great professor! Intro to psy is easy and all you had to do was mesmerize definitions, a couple quizzes and 3 exams. He let me make up an exam that I missed, that I didnt think I could make up but he messaged saying that I could take it still. Communicates good as well.

Take this class and thank me later. Professor B. is very sweet, funny and passionate about teaching psychology. His class is a really easy A and you can pass without l showing up but be aware that he scatters clicker questions throughout lectures that are word for word quiz/exam questions and he goes over them so that you have the right answers.

Ive taken two classes with Professor B. This was the second of the two and I have to say hes a great professor. His classes are really easy but interesting.

This professor actually improved my interest in psychology. His assignments aren't very difficult but you learn alot. Highly recommend taking his class.

Dr. Butt's online Psych class was a fairly easy class. You have 4 things due a week on the online textbook, a discussion post every other week, and an exam every other week. A lot of work but it was easy work.

Super easy to navigate as far as the course goes. Homework is not hard, and helps you learn the material. Tests are a little difficult. Definitely reread the material prior to taking. Would take again 100%.

Dr. Butt is such a fantastic teacher! He was very helpful in answering questions, helping the students learn, and making somewhat dry material much more stomachable. Amazing teacher, would take again 100%.

Dr. B was a fantastic teacher. His lectures were engaging and extremely helpful in understanding the activities done outside of class. The tests were a bit difficult, that was my biggest struggle, but the class was fun and I feel I learned a lot. Excellent teacher, would take his classes every semester if I can.

Allen Butt is the funniest man I've ever met- the class is challenging but the criteria are clear and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. The tests and quizzes are all on clickers so if that bothers you don't take it with him, but I like that we get automatic feedback that way. 11/10 would recommend.

Loved this class! You can tell that Dr. B is really passionate about psychology, even through an online class. Textbook assignments each week, discussion every other week, exam every other week. All are fairly easy. Exams can be tough, just make sure you go over the material beforehand. Lots of extra credit opportunities if you need it.

I enjoy all his classes ive taken. Iclickers are part of the grade. Very engaging, funny, knowledgeable and easy to understand. One thing is that he does get sidetracked A LOT in the lectures which is somewhat annoying. Also, DO NOT HAVE YOUR ELECTRONICS OUT or else he WILL call you out on it. Otherwise good professor.

Online, Dr. B's lectures are in convenient power point slides to take notes on. Each week involved a discussion forum and quizzes. Exams are straightforward with questions from quizzes. Strongly recommend taking Profesor Allen Butt's PSYC1110 class online. I took his class as an 8 week course and it was extremely organized and well planned out. His grading criteria is clear. Some reading out of the textbooks and the homework assignments to go along with it. The homework and quizzes through MindTap are helpful.

Butt is kind of like a squirrel on crack, he often repeats himself (which helps reinforce topics) and attempts to relate stories to the topic. Work wise, this class had a lot going on, quizzes and tests came up quickly as well as online work that needs to be done days in advance. Read the online book and his lecture notes and you should be fine.

Dr.B is an amazing teacher and very engaging with his lectures. This class is straightforward, make sure to attend every class for your bonus points, do weekly online assignments, and study for quizzes/ tests. You should pass this class with an A as long as you show up and study for exams.

Dr.B was an amazing professor, he is a very good lecturer and wants to see you succeed. Attendance is mandatory so you can get your extra points, and he offers up to 100 points extra credit through SONA or research papers. It is impossible to fail this class unless you never show up or do not study for exams and quizzes.

Great professor. He took a hard class and made it manageable. His lectures just make sense. A little bit of work outside of class but nothing unbearable. The only criticism I have is he NEVER answers email. Don't bother. Go in and see him in person.

He is an amazing professor. Do the work and you'll be fine! 12 quizzes, 12 discussion posts, 3 exams, and a few opportunities for extra credit.

This was my 3rd class with Dr. B and 2nd taken in 8 weeks. Being upper division, there was a midterm and a final multiple choice as well as 2 essays where the answers are pulled from lectures and readings. There were a few quizzes and discussions as well. Lectures help break down the readings, which can be confusing since they are research papers

Literally amazing. One of the few professors I've had where they actually know what they're talking about. Seriously cares about how his students do in his class. I've taken two classes with him and I signed up for another next semester. Always sent out emails checking in and asking everyone how they were doing because he knew times were hard.

Very clear communicator, offers extra credit + it appeared he extended due dates for those who were struggling.

Professor Butt or Dr. B is so funny and makes the class very interesting and fun! I would totally recommend him, especially if you want to really learn something while having a good time. He also gives extra credit to boost your grade! He truly cares about making sure you know the material that is being taught..

I've taken two different courses with Dr.B and I would take more of his courses. His Quiz's/Exam's are worded very simply so it's easy to show up, and pass! Easy A. He cares about his students passing, helps out sick students, and offers extra credit through SONA and Research Papers. 10/10 Would Recommend.

Very very enthusiastic about what he teaches. His lectures are funny, if a bit hard to follow. Not very good at responding to emails, but approachable after class for questions. Will gladly meet with you if you have questions about Learning and memory. PSYC-2250 had lots of quizzes, and it was pretty fast-paced.

Dr. Butt is an amazing professor. I really learned a lot from his class. He uses Cengage for the textbook, which allows you to learn more. His lectures for Brain and Behavior have a lot of heavy information, but his personality makes learning the material easy.

Professor Butt is by far the best professor I’ve had at UNM!! A lot of reading and fast paced course! Easy to understand the material! He does offer extra credit and sometimes gives the class extra time to do homework!

As long as you stick to the schedule he lays out at the beginning of the semester, you should get an easy A. Also, a week before the course ended he lifted all due dates and allowed us to go back and do assignments we got 0's on before. Its clear he's very passionate about psychology and cares a lot about his students' success.

Hands down the best professor. He really talks to students and makes sure you understand the material. Breaks down every concept that's important. Although he talks pretty fast, he repeats himself many times so that you can remember what's important. And most of all a very fun professor, you will never get bored.

Dr. Allen Butt is clearly very knowledgeable about psychology and learning and memory. If you are a psychology major hoping to do work in addiction, this is the perfect course for you. He explains things in an understandable way and his lectures are always humorous. Theres plenty of extra credit opportunities and I was able to make up exams.

Excellent online course! Everything was done through MindTap so it was easy to keep track of deadlines and what is due, plus he ALWAYS extends the due dates which was nice. Very easy to comprehend the material and complete the assignments!

Dr. Butt was really knowledgable and you can tell he cares. He has a strict no-phone-or-laptop policy... just respect it. The class work was done through Mindtap, with an inclusive access textbook. It was easy, and he makes it very clear what you need to do. He is funny and likes teaching, and keeps you engaged in his lectures with the clickers.

I wouldn't recommend this class if you're not a good exam/quiz taker, as those were the only assignments we had. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. I honestly haven't had to use the textbook much this semester since he goes over all the material in class, which always cover the tests in their entirety. Overall great class, and funny man.

Dr. Butt is one of the best professors I have had so far, very easy and stress free class, only thing that to keep in mind is that attendance is taken during each lecture. Very funny guy who you can absolutely tell cares about his students success in not only his class but in our personal lives too.

Professor Butt is phenomenal. Showing up to class matters but it isn't hard when he is so enjoyable to listen to. His lectures are interesting and he is so funny. Don't fall behind on the online material and you will be cherry.

Professor Butt is great. Is very understanding that we have other things on our plate. Always extends deadlines sometimes to the following week. Great at reminding us about upcoming assignments and due dates. Has a strict policy about no cell phones and laptops during lectures.

Best professor I've had at UNM by far. Very engaging lectures and straight forward grading style. Most homework and tests were online. Would sometimes have in-class quiz. Not a very difficult class. Very approachable professor and wants his students to do well in his class.

Intro Psyc: He uses a system called Cengage MindTap which is super easy to use, however, you must take assigned breaks. You cannot not cram assignments because you might have to take a break. He usually gives multiple "One-time extensions" to the entire class, but do not rely on it. Exams are what will get you if you don't study.

His lectures are either extremely useful, or you will take a page of notes on something that will never be brought up again. He gets off-topic very easily and hates phones or laptops in class. His quizzes are almost the same as his exams so take note on correct answers and their corresponding questions.

Dr. Butt was amazing, his course was easy to follow and using mind tap made things clear. He allows extra credit and is responsive. I typically look to take his courses because I enjoy his recorded lectures and teaching style.

I felt bad for Butt this semester as I believe our class was very loud and a lot of people were on their phones but he pushed through and delivered a great overall semester. He cares a lot about everyone passing and you can tell how passionate he is about Psych. He fairs very clearly with a lot of MindTap assignments and made concepts interesting.

Dr. Butt was hands down the best professor I've ever had. I had an incident that happened in school and he was the only professor who showed any sympathy at all. His assignments are not overwhelming and he has a good lecture class. Very flexible professor. Lectures are extra credit!

Not a thing to complain about. He is perfect, and lectures were always engaging/entertaining. Very approachable. Exams use questions from lecture. You have to attend lecture. No reason to ever read the book. IF you don't understand something from lecture, he posts very detailed video lectures on canvas. Take him if you have the chance!

He was overall great! He holds his students accountable online and is very fair. He sends the lectures our every week through video and if you watch those the class is fairly easy. He also answers emails really well and does everything he can to help his students!

Dr. Butt is a great professor, Exams aren't hard if you listen to lectures every week and take notes. Considering it was a summer course, the workload was fairly light. Be ready to study for those exams as they are timed! I recommend you take Dr. Butt!

Mr. Butt definitely keeps class interesting at times however he has a very strict no phone, no laptop or any electronic policy. He claims this is meant to be for our best interest, but he often stops class for long periods to lecture us about not abiding to this. Nonetheless, he tries his best to keep it interesting and fun. Class is easy to pass.

As someone who wasn't a fan of his in person classes- I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed his online class! To anyone needing the psych credits but does not like his teaching style I highly recommend his online classes. Super duper easy.

Professor Butt is great! This 8-week class is very intensive but doable. His lectures are helpful and offer many opportunities for improvement and extra credit! Most of the weekly quiz questions are on Chapter exams. Take notes, study, and read, and you will get that A! Follow instructions for full credit on discussion posts!

This was the best professor I had my entire freshman year. He was funny, all the homework and tests were online, open book If you need a psych class, try and find a slot with him. He's super funny, I can't stress it enough he actually cares about his students, even though it's a big lecture hall, and the TAs were super helpful, 1000/10 should take.

You mainly just do the work through an online website he uses. The lectures were fun but crowded and Dr. Butt is very passionate about what he teaches. Definitely would take again but get ready to spend like an hour a week on the stupid online program, which is the only thing that's graded except canvas quizzes.

Dr. Butt is super amazing when it comes to teaching. He loves to joke during his mass lectures. He thrives on students participation, however hates when students leave early or talk loudly when hes teaching. Offers breaks on his Tuesday and Thursday classes. Wants you to go out and participate in physc related experiments (extra credit available!).

Very engaging and genuine professor, highly recommend, just do NOT talk in class.

I did the online class for drugs and information and it was really fun. I enjoyed all of the videos! The class is pretty hard to grasp but its doable.
