good teacher but the computer math classes are hard so if you are not great at math i do not recommend this teacher but he is a nice guy.

Professor Epstein expects a lot of his students. He may lecture a lot on the difficulties of success in math, but he is still concerned about his student's success. I found him to be very supportive when I was upfront and communicated truthfully. Epstein is a very competent math professor.

Epstein is an awesome teacher. He explains everything so that it all makes sense. Theres a lot of work involved but that's really the best way to learn math. Some people don't like him because he jokes a lot but there is nothing wrong with a teacher with a sense of humor.

hes a good guy, his class is pretty fun but at times can be BORING. He likes to joke around. He has common sence and his grading scale is conservative.For example, 65% for a C. Mr epstein does read what people write about him and he talks about it in class, its hilarious. Hes a good man..

Prior to taking this class I failed Algebra 4 times and would break out in a cold sweat if even I thought about taking a Math class. His sense of humor actually made this class fun! Maybe that's what I needed...I got 100 on every single test and passed with an A. Thank you Mr. Epstein :)

A fast paced summer class and a twenty-five year gap of Algebra classes was not the best combination. But, this professor is a great teacher and has the ability to make the hardest problems understandable. It's a class of both fun and hard work. I learned so much! If you want to learn take this class... And, stick with it! It's worth it!!!

The online math class means that you have to be disciplined enough to do the bulk of the work on your own. It’s not an easy task, however, Prof. Epstein’s teaching method makes this class much easier. If you want to pass the online class I HIGHLY recommend spending class time listening to his lectures and do the computer work at home!!!

Professor Epstein helped me very much with algebra. I didn't understand it in high school, he really helped me understand the formulas and why we do math, not just how to do math. I reccommend him highly. He tries very much to help you achieve, and he succeeds. But if you are lazy, don't bother taking the course. I hope to have him later on here...

He's a good teacher, but he goes off the subject to much. If he would stick to just teaching and no telling stories, he would be a really good math teacher.His scantrons tests make math tests even harder, and there is no calculators allowed.

Explains things very simply. Tells stories and gets off the subject which puts the class at ease. Then when you go to do the problems you remember the easy way it's been presented and it's not a bunch of confusion.

I chose this Math teacher from this site and they were right! I have to say this professor is amazing, and he actually IS funny! He taught me more Math in one semester than I learned in 3 classes prior. If you don't know who to take-take this professor, he's the best~!!!

Nice guy sometimes gets off subject alot but funny. Very clear when teaching math. Replay class on a online site very helpful. 3 tests +plus final. don't have to turn in homework but need to review in class. GOOD TEACHER!!

professor epstein is a really good teacher although his test are a little difficult you still understand what you are doing. he tries to help you as much as possible but ultimately it is your choice if you want to do good in the class, you don't have to take notes cuz he has a live web cam and website you can print the notes from the site. take him

When God created this man he instilled him with the ability to teach a language in a way that anyone can understand. He is a real spitfire and full of knowledge most of us do not appreciate. His style is unselfish in every way, and only a complete fool would question his purpose or become offended due to his zero tolerance for stupidity.

He's a good, wise man. Maybe a little self-centered but in the end, he's what teachers should be like. Not easy, but helps you understand in Barney-style. If you're just going to class to waste time and chat w/friends, you're stupid to begin with so quit whining. + He has tons of off-the-wall funny stories to tell you.

I would say he is a very good teacher. Even though this was an online course, to do well it helped to go to class. He was willing to answer any question and broke it down into terms we could all understand. The course is not for the faint of heart in the summer but he made it easier to succeed. I'd suggest he avoid chit chat during tests though.

I took an online summer math course with this professor. The material was quite difficult and very fast paced, but as long as you work hard, you can do well because Mr Epstein is very helpful in class and works with you so you do well in the tests. He also has alot of material posted online which is very useful for understanding material.

He exceeded my expections. I was not looking forward to take a math class during the summer but the whole experience was pretty pleasant He is very fair and extremely helpful. He was always in a cheery mood with a lot of witty/ cheesy jokes which always make a math better! Would take any of his math courses offered!

A decent teacher, but doesn't seem to really care if you do well. Gets frustrated when you don't get something the first time. Seems more interested in lecturing you about how effed up the system and how much better a teacher he is than others than getting down to algebra. He can teach pretty well, don't AVOID him, but not my first choice either.

This professor has a low tolerance for stupidity but it has nothing to do w/ Math. Without him & the EXCL program I would still be without a degree THEY are THE reason I graduated. Do it right the 1st time-take this professor. He makes it possible to get the info U need as often as needed, & for me that was alot. The best decision I made!

If you take the online class expect to do a large amount of the learning on your own. It is intended for self-motivated individuals so I don't understand why so many people are having issues with his style? If yoare looking for a teacher that will hold your hand, take another professor. Show up, do your work, and study.That's all it takes for an A.

This professor is just a wonderful person. This is my the best professor in Pierce and in Math at all. He is very funny and nice. But to feel this way you have to study, ask questions if you have them. So don't do nothing during his class and then blame his in ratemyprofessor.com for everything bad what's happened to you (how many did ;) )

Despite what many of his previous students have said, I found him to be an excellent instructor that truely cares about students. He graded each test before the end of class and offered to stay after class to help those stuggling. Many students failed to follow instructions clearly posted on his syllabus and were suprised when they failed.

He is a good teacher, very clear about his expectations and what you need to do well. Yes he goes off on tangents sometimes but will get to your question, he truly cares if students are getting it or not. I am or was bad at math. Everything that you thought about math will change with this teacher. He is the best. Show up to class and you will get it. All the fractions, word problems are easier for me to now. I really learned from this teacher-he cares. He talks about random things because he can explain the problem in a few minutes u'll get it.

Prof. Epstein is the best math teacher I have ever had! This was my first math class in 5 yrs and he took his time to make sure we understood everything. His tests are multiple choice and difficult so make sure to attend class. He will even let you attend his other classes if you want extra help. I wish he was teaching 125 =)

Great teacher really has a talent for making it easy to understand. Grades based on effort as well as classwork. I learned more in his Algebra class and with the help of his personal educational website than with any other teacher or method. I never went to Algebra class in high school, so I struggled with Math classes after that. Took this class, got an A. Even though he doesn't collect homework, do it anyway - how else are you going to learn? Highly recommended.

He cares. He wants his students to learn how to do the MATH, and not by using a graphing calculator. During the intire class, he will teach you step by step, in the most simplisctic way; a 5 year old can learn. If you don't pass, it is not because of him. He is NOT the common denominator....YOU are. Great Teacher. I learned a lot in his class. The way he teaches is very helpful. He uses the textbook a lot in his class but dose not assign homework, your graded on your tests instead. Believes that there's no point in doing 200 to 300 questions of the same problems over and over to get it stamped in your brain. I highly recommend his class.

This is one of the best teachers ever. He is extremely passionate about what he does. Do your homework, solely listen (Don't tell him how to do math cause your there for a reason) and don't take notes. You'll learn so much more than you'll learn anywhere else. A truly, truly excellent professor. His style of teaching takes some getting used to but if you just listen to his lectures, and do the practice problems in the book, YOU WILL LEARN THE MATH! He really wants you to succeed. Just put forth the effort and you can't go wrong. Note: The second exam is the toughest, be sure to study hard for that one.
