My absolute favorite professor ever! He is so funny. The stories he tells put you right there at the time they happened. Everything is relevant to the course, I honestly wish every teacher was like Dr. Mallory.

Awesome teacher! This is the only class I enjoy going to! He truly cares about your grade and will do everything possible to help you make at least a C... I'm going to miss his class!

An absolute must have teacher! His personal stories help students relate to the concepts and learn the info easily. Also, he is just one of the most entertaining human beings I have ever met!!! If you get a chance to take this class you won't regret it and you certainly won't forget it!

Dr. Allen Mallory, such an amazing teacher. He loves his job and his students. Hated for his class to end. Taught me a lot about development of children and was always making me laugh. He is wonderful, wished he taught more classes. Really going to miss not having him next semester.

I must admit Dr. Mallory really changed my whole perception about kids. His stories are really great attention grabbers and you best believe I'm going to be the first one to buy his book.!

Loved this class. His stories will stick with you and he is hilarious. He is one of the best teachers I've had at Shelton. I would suggest coming everyday because you would miss notes or a story that will be on a test. His test can be a little tricky but if you study you will do fine.

I looked forward to going to his class every week and he always had us laughing with his storys. He somehow made us learn about the class and at the same time was telling us his life stories and that really made the information stick to me. great guy!

LOVED HIS CLASS!!! On days I would skip my 8am I would make sure I went to his class. Thats how much I loved it. Easy class, easy test. The stories and things I learned in this class will stay with me forever, not just the semester. Take this class even if it is not required for you. Oh and go to his comedy show in April.

Dr. Mallory is really a treat to have. He may not know it but I struggled to get to school and had a lot going on this semester and his teaching is about the only thing that kept me going. There's so much to say about Dr. Mallory. Theres days when he will make you fall out of your seat laughing or days you will shed a tear from all the touching stories he experienced working with children. He is Amazing! He is inspiring! Doc Mallory makes the material fun. Most people find his class FUN. Since he is the only person teaching Human Growth & Development @ Shelton, that's a good thing. If he taught another course, I'd take it whether I needed it or not. His classes are that good.

This was my favorite class/professor at Shelton so far. Dr. Mallory is very entertaining and interesting. The test is based completely on what he says in class and we don't use the book. He doesn't care about attendance but you HAVE to go to pass the test.

I put class was mandatory because it is if you want to pass. He didn't require us to be there, but we maybe opened our books 2 or 3 times. Other than that, the tests are based off of his stories. He takes the topics from the textbooks and explains them hilariously through personal experience so you get it. GREAT teacher! Super easy and interesting!

I thought I would hate being in this class for 3 hours but he told some really good stories and you just get lost in them and he's so funny. He's the best teacher I've ever had. If he taught other subjects I would take them also. Thank you for making me believe that even though I may fail at something to not give up and just try again.

I loved this class. I was in his night class for 3 hours and I must say it was interesting the whole time. The stories I know I will remember for years to come. Dr. Mallory is the funniest man you will ever meet. He will make you want to work with children for the rest of your life. His whole class is story telling and if you speak up he will love you! Ive been at Shelton for 5 years and this was the first time that I was actually excited to go to class. He made learning fun and easy because of all the funny stories. He has a great heart and understands what collage students go through in their everyday life. I would give anything if more teachers were at least a fraction of what he is.

I loved this class. Dr. Mallory is honestly one of the best professors Ive ever had. His teaching style is different than other college professors. He relates the material to real life situations which allows you to learn and retain the material. Also you get to hear some amazing stories. He interacts with the class and makes learning so much fun!

I would come home and talk about his class for hours to my roommates, actually talked one of them to signing up for it this semester coming up. I highly advise this class!

He is very easy to understand he tells stories but they are heartfelt and you will get a understanding they all pretain to his lessons if you show up and listen you will do well.He is not that teacher that expect you to laugh at every joke or u get a D. Just listen, u cant help to smile.

He is an amazing teacher with an unique teaching strategy. Just go to class and listen to his interesting, hilarious, and educational lectures and you will learn without even trying!! No homework and he only puts notes on the board that will be on your tests and he makes sure if he doesn't put it on the board it won't be on your tests! My fav class

Dr Mallory is an amazing professor! Just go to class, listen to his lectures, copy what he writes on the board, and there's no reason you shouldn't have an A. You'll want to go to his class, you're never bored and he brings the material to life. Even if your not a child development major, I would absolutely recommend taking his class!

Today was the last day of his class and it was a bitter sweet moment. Sweet that class is ending and bitter to be leaving his class! AWESOME teacher! He doesn't do role but go to class! You will pass if you show up and pay attention. Book really isn't needed until the end. It's a easy class. He's also hilarious! You will enjoy this class!!

I would take Mallory's class even if I didn't need it. He's more concerned with you enjoying the material than being tested on it. He's very helpful and hilarious. I had a 2 hour and 45 min class once a week with him, and I could have listened all night. He's a great teacher, interesting, down to earth, and entertaining. MUST TAKE THIS CLASS!!

GREAT teacher; show up everyday and listen to all of his stories and you pretty much pass the class. What he lecture about is what will be on the test. Don't take this class if you don't come to school everyday because you cant read in the book to catch up.

While attendance is not mandatory, you won't want to miss a single one! I am a returning student to Shelton to persue a nursing degree after I dropped out almost 10 years ago. I was absolutely terrified to enter a classroom after that 10 year absence and the one thing I can say about my experience in his class is I couldn't have picked a better class to come back on. He made me love the classroom and learning again.

I have a B.A. from the University of Alabama and attended Bevill State for my associate's prior to. Dr. Mallory is BY FAR my favorite teacher out of them all. I took Human Growth & Development during the summer in a 2 hour class. It flew by and Dr. Mallory made it fun! Was definitely sad to see it end! Highly recommend his class!

Dr. Mallory is AMAZING! I look forward to class with him. He is old school, which I love, so he uses chalk and a chalkboard. No powerpoints, no online stuff. Just good old-fashioned paying attention and taking notes. I've laughed so hard I couldn't breathe before. He doesn't wax eloquent; he is very realistic and actually gives great life advice.

He has life stories that not only help you with the test information but actual stories that teach you about life. He makes class enjoyable!

Dr. Mallory makes understanding the course material easier by telling stories and giving examples during his lectures. If you attend class every scheduled time, you'll do fine in the class. By far the most interesting professor I've ever had. He was hilarious all year and tells stories that will stick with you for a lifetime. You can really tell he loves what he does, and it makes his class one that you will actually look forward to going to. If you go to class and take notes he will not let you fail. I took his class last semester and made an A. Everything that we were tested on was in the notes that he wrote on the chalkboard. If you show up and take notes, you're golden. He's hilarious, by the way.

The absolute best professor of all time!! I love him so much; I wish he could teach all of my classes. He seriously is the funniest and sweetest man on earth. I wanted to adopt him as my grandfather and just listen to him all the time. I was actually very sad when the semester was over. You know you have a good professor when that happens.

I had several personal issues during the semester and he helped me and gave me extra credit work and I ended up with a B. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Mallory's class should be a bucket list item. This man will not only teach about PSY 210, but you will learn life lessons that will stick with you. You will view the world and people differently. I honestly need more characters to describe how he has impacted my life. If you come to class you'll do fine on his one test; he is a very fair man.

Dr. Mallory is AWESOME. I would totally recommend him. Participation does matter to an extent, but he is very flexible. He even let me switch between two classes due to my work schedule. His stories are great/inspiring. If attendance is decent, he scales your 1st test grade and gives you the choice to use it as your final grade.

I loved Dr. Mallory class everyday was like a new adventure with him. He is the best at getting his students to learn. During test he doesn't mind giving you a few examples to help trigger your brain into getting the answer right. I wish everyone of my teachers were like Dr. Mallory!!!!!!

Best teacher at SSCC. If you are lucky enough to take a class of his do it. Wont let anyone fail. One test all year and even if you failed it he lets you correct it to pass.

Dr. Mallory is a phenomenal instructor. He will make you laugh and have a good time. Attendance is highly suggested. If you miss a day, you miss material. Theres never a quiet day without laughter escaping the classroom.

I would take Mallory's class over and over again. He made it super easy to learn, and you will never be bored in there. I genuinely looked forward to going to his class. Only had two tests in the semester, including the Final. It's not a good idea to skip class because he mainly teaches through stories and illustrations in class.

In my opinion, Dr. Mallory is the best instructor here. He is hilarious and a really good person. Basically all you have to do is show up to class and you will pass. You will have to study for the test(s), but other than that you just listen to his hilarious stories.

In all the years Ive been in school, Dr. Mallory is definitely one of my top. I highly recommend him for human growth and development. His lectures are so real and he tells real life stories to help us undertand the concepts/topics better. I really enjoyed him and his class. He doesnt go by the book so it helps to come to class everyday!

He is a 10/10 teacher, one of the best. You NEED to come to class, it is how all the teaching and notes and etc is done. But it is legit a pretty fun time to come to the class, so its not that hard just a matter of getting to the class it breezes by. As long as you come to class and review notes before the test you should be good.

Dr. Mallory is probably the best teacher Ive had through both high school and college. His lectures will always keep you awake because they are so hilarious, but do relate to the topic. Basically show up and youll pass.

Uses his life experiences to teach which means you dont use the book that much. His stories are very entertaining because he is a comedian outside of Shelton. Take the notes and listen in class and you will pass with a good grade! And he is very liberal when it comes to helping people pass his class with a good grade!

Mallory is highly rated for a reason! He's probably the chillest professor at Shelton. Knows what he teaches but the coursework isn't overwhelming, posts the textbook on Canvas. Beware the tests! He loves using tricky wording. Just make sure to take notes and show up regularly. You'd have to WANT anything lower than a C to get it.

this was by far my favorite class i have taken at shelton. I enjoyed his lectures so much, they were very interesting, and he always had stories that would make me crack a smile even on my worst days. I was so upset when our in class lectures were cut short due to COVID, but even after we moved to online i enjoyed listening to his video lectures.
