Heavy participation and discussion-based course. Long but educational readings. Course primarily relies on logic and statistic-based thinking (i.e. game theory, Prisoner's Dilemma, etc.), so PPL majors will have to adjust to the learning curve. Dr. Bugenis is highly knowledgeable and facilitates interesting class discussions. A unique PLSC class.
Didn't mind the class but this woman is a psycho. She sent us an email with a video recording of her at 10 pm one night that was 45 minutes of her ranting to us about how we were being too harsh towards the authors of articles and being extremely disrespectful and almost started crying, even though she asks for our honest opinions. Unprofessional.
She's really chill and knowledgeable just a stickler when grading. I liked her and her lectures, she's very available during office hours and outside of class but it's tough work.
Professor Bugenis is very knowledgeable about gender & politics. However, she grades based on her specific view of what is correct / how things are interpreted, with very little to no guidance. She is frequently disorganized and inconsistent. Bugenis has the potential to be a great professor with more attention and catering to her students.
She lectures well and tries her best to help us understand, but her grading with papers is not very forgiving. I think she expects too much from undergrads but shes a nice person. Shes very available and understanding. Format of the class is smart and efficient but it is a LOT of work.
Bugenis is a good instructor who is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about what she's teaching. The class structure was very practical and simple, and she is very lenient and understanding for the most part. However, her grading for the papers is harsh for sure. If you don't do well on the first one, definitely talk to her in office hours.
***Took her Policitcal Analysis class** Worst professor I have ever in my three years of undergrad. She is inconsistent in almost everything she does. She grades based off what she "feels" is correct rather than what may be right or wrong. Consistently gives harsh grades without justification. Definitely do not take her class.
Does not know how to teach statistics whatsoever. Always anxious and on the verge of tears when covering the topic. Learned the whole material myself on youtube. Absolutely do not recommend taking her class.
One of the most unorgranized and unprofessional teachers I have had. She would come to lectures late or not at all without warning and would always come up with some lazy excuse why. Does not grade until the end of the semester, so you will not know your grade until it is too late to fix it. Material is not so challenging.
Extremely disorganized professor, would not show up sometimes and was just not a good instructor. Made stuff boring. No one liked her class. And then she had the audacity to be the biggest stickler when it came to grading ??? Which we could grade professors back lol. Made me drop the DIDA minor.
Prof. Bugenis is nice and it is clear she's trying her best. However, she is a harsh grader and does not take into account that one kid is not representative of the entire class. Someone cheated and instead of punishing them, she punished the rest of the class by making everything harder and grading harshly. I don't suggest taking her course!
This professor grades so harshly and is not understanding at all, do not take her classes if you can. 0/10
Very disorganized and unfair. She missed 3 weeks worth of class with no explanation. Punished the entire class because one kid cheated. Grades are very late and harsh, so by the time you received your grade it was too late. It is not worth taking her class.
Its ridiculous how tough of a grader this professor is considering its statistics 101. Taking to account how young the professor is, I would assume she would be understanding and not grade our assignments like her life depends on it. Grading assignments the day before it was due is blasphemous.
Not very online savvy despite being a teacher teaching a very science based class (statistics) and this ultimately ends up with the class moving very slowly. While a nice person, her teaching style is just not very engaging and she rarely covers all the material in the slides. In addition, the homework is BS and teaches very little.
Allison is a fantastic professor! If you take a class with her, go to her office hours and have her review your paper before you turn it in! She will give you feedback and put you on the right track. I'm grateful I took a class with her because she helped me become a much better argumentative writer. Honestly one of my favorite classes!
- tests are worth 70% of your grade and tests are lengthy and difficult. - lecture is slow and boring, with attendance being mandatory - homework is lengthy and tedious, while being very difficult as she does not teach you how to complete homework word problems - textbook and homework questions costs 150 or 180 dollars (McGraw hill Connect)
Probably the worst professor/teacher I've had to date. Lectures are once a week for an hour and a half, and pretty hard to pay attention because she's very boring. No discussion, she got a TA more than half into the semester. Very hard tests, the average for the last one was >50 (I got a 43) and barely helped with extra credit. Dont take this class
Definitely the worst experience I've had ever. She doesn't teach the material, just reads off the slides and doesnt even show the thought process of solving questions properly. Tests aren't fair at all considering how she doesn't teach the material right. U have to teach yourself the material for the whole class for problem sets and exams
do not take her. i am basically a straight A student and am struggling to get a C+ in her class. Everyone failed the test and it still counted. she ruined my gpa
Don't take her class ever and avoid her if you can. She only reads all the slides and I feel like she doesn't want to give credits to the students. Everyone failed on the last exam, and even if she allows us to take retest, it will be averaged by the original one, so even if you get 100 on the make-up, you still can't have A.
First time teaching stats this year. Homework takes 5-10 hrs because theres always something wrong with the homework assignment or something she hasn't taught for EVERY single chapter. No discussion help or any type of help (bc she cant answer all the emails she gets) until half into the class. You wont know what you are learning is right or wrong
If you are considering this class, be aware of the amount of homework required each week. Takes multiple hours to finish and you might not even get a 100 on it. Her slides are useless for homework and in general, so you need to look in the textbook for help. Does read emails but might take a while depending on her situation. Attendance is mandatory
Having an entire class bomb an exam shows a lot about a professor. Was consistently unprofessional, showed up to lectures late, slides during lectures weren't helpful, every homework assignment and exam had errors. You end up teaching yourself the course due to how little she helps her students. Doesn't answer emails.
Do not take her class at ALL COSTS, never have I had to put so much work into a 100 level course that I am staying up for hours a night trying to teach myself the information and do the homework. She only reads off the slides and doesn't teach the material. My class had to submit a petition to make her curve the final bc everyone failed the midterm
Really bad professor. Not understanding at all and hw/problem sets are nothing like exams. Straight A student and got a B, and class average had to have been a C+. I could've taught this course just as well. also no opportunities to make grade better.
I highly recommend you take this course if you want to lower your GPA. this material taught in class was level easy compared to the test which pretty much had nothing to do with what we learned. The lecture is not engaging and puts you to sleep. AVOID IF POSSIBLE. Tests are a guarantee fail so much so we had a class avg below a 60.
This class has left many with tanking GPAs due to the lack of teaching. Homework is completely different from test. It is unfortunate to have had this experience in an SOM class. I hope no one has to go through this class experience again - because I feel like my investment of time and money in this course was not worth it.
(FOR CQS 111) NOT accessible outside of class whatsoever. Made the class essentially asyncronys with completely useless lectures. Site she uses grades the hw/projects automatically further encouraging her laziness. Will respond to emails days (if not weeks) after you send them. Says in syllabus to reach out to correct the grades, but won't. AVOID!!
She is easily the worst professor I have had at Binghamton so far. This class has been so stressful and the tests are extremely difficult. The homework is very difficult and takes a long time to do. During Lectures she reads directly off the slides and doesn't explain anything. It is very difficult to pay attention and the class is not engaging.
Was looking foward to first statistics course at Bing, and mandatory SOM class, however, this has been one of the most dreadful experiences yet. GPA will be tanked largely due to this class. I do not recommend. Had to call the school and complain, unaccessible outside of class, poor lecturer, and tests extremely challenging. Please avoid!!
She could have done so much better or atleast have been more accommodating, as this was her first time teaching and we had limited resources. For over 1/2 the sem, no TA or tutor, just her speeding thru slides because there were only 1.5 hrs of class a week. Always an issue w tests & hws. I'm pretty sure I sacrificed part of my soul to get an A-.
actually the worst class ive taken at bing. very unprofessional and seems like she doesn't know what shes teaching. class is supposed to be excel based yet never learned anything about excel from her and had to figure it out on our own. tests are unfair. save yourself from a gpa drop and dont take this class.
The class meets only once a week and she never finishes the lecture slides. Every class she basically just reads off the slides. Class is suppose to be excel based, yet she barely uses excel. The homeworks contain content that she never taught and many hours were spent trying to figure out how to do the hw. Save yourself the stress and gpa drop.
Wasn't the best professor, but it was her first semester teaching statistics from what I'm aware. The overall structure of the course was very sloppy. The software for the homework had multiple bugs, the lack of a TA for half the semester, and inconsistent attendance checks. The lectures were often not helpful. The textbook will be your best friend
I mean DO NOT TAKE HER AT ALL JUST DONT YOUR GPA WILL BE COOKED DONT TAKE HER
Not terrible, gotten better from the reviews I have seen, a lot of homework and textbook reading, but gives you more room for error with many graded assignments, first test was not that bad either, just do your homework and study and you will be fine.
She doesn't answer her emails and her class is unorganized. She reads off the slides so you're gonna have to teach yourself everything. The homework assignments she gives is based on material she hasn't gone over yet and won't go over for another 1-2 weeks. Overall this class was a waste of my time because I taught myself everything.
She does not know what she is talking about. She gives two assignments a week and expects us to know what we are doing beforehand, while she "teaches" the specific subject after. As a SOM major I would rather take Physics than this class. She often interrupts herself in the middle of lectures, and is all around a bad teacher. Magically passed. :(
Rate my professor, more like replace my professor. Not only is everything graded automatically, the problem sets and readings she puts on lecture slides and reads off of. No help when it comes to explaining, and does not know how to teach. Tests are not curved, and overall this course you are teaching yourself. If you can avoid this class, RUN FAR!
she will never.. ever.. EVER.. answer emails. ive sent 3 in total.. zero answered...
currently heading into our second exam and very ironic that she ends up being "sick" and not only did not hold office hours for this week, but also is having her TA teach the lecture for her before the day of the exam. luckily he is tries his best teaching, but the content is still confusing because she does not nearly help at all with the content
One of the worst teachers I've ever had in my life. If you are able to get out of this class do yourself the favor of not taking it. Most of my time studying for this class is understanding what she has gone over because she is unable to explain simple topics. She seems unmotivated for any of the students in the class to even enjoy/pass the class.
This is the most bs class ever. She does not teach and just reads off the slides. The week before our second exam she is "sick" and misses her office hours and the class before the exam. Your whole semester will be spent trying to understand whatever she is saying in class. Take stat in high school and get the credit so you don't have to do this.
This Ratemy is very telling, and by telling I mean 100% correct. Doesn't answer emails, doesn't teach, and offers 0 help when needed. The content should be relatively easy, yet her inability to teach and provide help makes what should be a simple lesson into something so complex you'll be pulling hairs while studying for your next exam.
The second midterm was the worst I've ever done on a test in my life. This class is a GPA tanker. Take stats at a community college over winter or summer break to save yourself
Bugenis is an unbelievably horrible professor. She doesn't respond, doesn't help, and does not necessarily teach either. Her lectures are terrible and if you're considering taking stats, DONT. Just take it at your local college and get far away from her teachings.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. Just finished the hardest test I've ever taken in my life. She didn't teach the content on the test well AT ALL. The first test covered a majority of statistical stuff that's learned in lower-level courses, so the overall grades weren't too bad. On this test, I barely scored a 40%, after being a usual A guarantee in math.
Terrible. Just terrible. Went from being a good student in high school to spending hours at the library for basically none of the content to be on the test. First midterm was fine. Walked to my second one in tears. Walked out of the test in tears. DO NOT TAKE.
Worst teacher I've ever had, lots of homework and reading, bad lectures, and unavailable. Statistics should not be this difficult but bugenis makes it because of her laziness and lack of knowledge on the subject
TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU WANT STRESS! Statistics is a relatively easy topic but she makes it insanely difficult. The lectures are mandatory yet not informative at all. The homework and tests do not reflect what is taught in class. The tests are lengthy and hard for no reason. Coincidentally she was absent the last class before the hardest test.....
1 star is quite generous. Worst teacher. Exam 1 was light but exam 2 was your worst nightmare. Lectures are sometimes confusing, overall medium difficultly, but tests are nothing like what is taught. A 100 level class shouldn't feel like a 300 or 400. TAs try harder than the professor.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! DO NOT! she DOES NOT teach at all. you have to sit and teach yourself everything, but you will still fail no matter how hard you try. The exams are much harder than the questions given in class or the problem sets and she doesn't give any sample tests. If you can avoid this class, AVOID IT!
Bugenis shows signs of laziness during her lectures. They're just regurgitations of the textbook that you must buy. She barely uses Excel and when she does, she skims through it. In a statistics class, I feel that I should be using Excel more. On Fridays, she flirts with the TA's instead of focusing on lecture and it's more of a waste of time
Ouch. Professor Bugenis is extremely unprofessional and anything but helpful. Gets distracted every time someone leaves the room and reads off the slides like a high school student presenting a PowerPoint her other groupmates crammed the night before. Grades on test 2 in particular tanked grades for >90% of the class - unacceptable. AVOID!!!
Unprofessional, rants about her students on social media and likes her TA's a little TOO much. Her lecture slides are copies of the mandatory textbook that you have to buy. Homework x2/week. The tests are so hard, even the try-hards do bad. For a "Computer tools for management" class, we have used excel 3 times for a total of 10 minutes.
I would NEVER recommend this class to anyone. The lectures are just her reading word for word off the slides. She gives an obscene amount of homework and the tests are very difficult. Essential if you want to spend 20+ hours a week teaching yourself then this is the class for you. If not avoid this class at all costs.
Uninteresting class, immature teacher and unnecessarily hard. The lectures are like watching a middle schooler present a slideshow they made a day prior. Talking to the teacher privately doesn't help either as she makes excuses for herself as to not shoulder blame for the situation. Do not take
Very hard tests with no good way to study for. No practice exams and you will have to teach yourself all the material. Doesn't respond to emails and reads off lecture slides with no real teaching done. She makes simple topics seem complex and complex topics even more complex.
Awful professor. Probably the worst teacher I've ever had and that says a lot. Got warned from upper classmen about her and had no choice but to take the class. Reads off the slides and doesn't actually teach course material. There's no proper way to study for tests in her class. Good luck if you have her as a professor
Just don't take if you want to live another day.
A lot of homework, and lectures are based on work due before class making it pointless and unhelpful. You teach yourself the material and then go over it in class, and even then she barely explains the topics. Exams are impossible to study for and nothing like the work you do. No curve and she is absent day before exam with no office hours.
I went from an A on the first exam to a 41 on the second due to her inability to teach. The second exam was nothing like what was done through the homework and lectures, and her inability to teach made the exam 10x harder than it should've been. The only reason I got an A on the first exam is because I already learned the material beforehand.
Genuinely not fit to be teaching statistics. Reads off slides in a monotone voice, gives so much work and doesn't teach half of it. Many students in class fail exams/barely pass and she claims there is no curve. DO NOT TAKE if possible.
barely teaches, very difficult exams
Extremely difficult course, despite it being an introductory course within Binghamton. Tests are challenging, spanning many topics, with strict time limits. The course is poorly organized, very tough to study as no study guide is given. You will likely have to put in an unnecessarily large amount of time to pass.
The worst teacher I've ever had. Homeworks are not conducive to tests and there is no way to prepare for them. Has on multiple occasions inappropriately ranted about her students on social media. Going to office hours is no help since every question I've asked there has been responded with "I'm not sure how to help you" or "I don't understand."
Was absent from her office hours the week of the exam and the class before the exam. Does not teach, just reads off premade slides. Students have to teach themselves the information through external sources. She doesn't reply to emails. Won't allow hw questions after class but often cancels her office hours. WORSE TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD DONT TAKE
Been an A student my entire life, she has changed this. First exam was decent because most concepts were easy to comprehend on your own, but by the second exam, I felt completely unprepared. She is incapable of getting her thoughts across in a way that her students can understand during lectures and relies heavily on her slides.
Let me save you the time, don't do it. If you're backed up against the wall and need the credit for CQS112, RUN. Get your credit literally anywhere else; do it at community college, do it at another SUNY, heck do it on Planet Mars. This course is near impossible if you struggle with math, doesn't help that it's taught in a 200 person lecture.
The Teacher is BAD. Her previous class tried petitioning for the 2nd test, and our class has also. The average grade was well below failing. She lacks teaching ability. She lets her mood get the best of her and reflects that onto her class. She does not teach and reads pre-made slides so you will be teaching yourself GREATLY outside class.
I wish I could get back all the time wasted sitting in this class considering that no concept Bugenis ever “taught” was helpful in the slightest. From the apparent unprofessional behavior displayed over and over again, she continuously shows no care for her students and takes no feedback into consideration. Do not take, save your time and money.
This professor isn't capable of teaching a 200 person lecture. she isn't comprehended on the topic, has a nasty attitude and tests have a ridiculous amount of content on them which is impossible to study for. worst class i've taken in my life
I would highly recommend to find a loophole around this class in any way possible. She reads directly off the slides and doesn't go in depth whatsoever or use Excel. She gives no study materials and grades nothing in her own (including so much homework). Regularly cancels office hours and misses class. I think she cares more about anime than her job.
Problem sets are nothing like the tests, you can tell which questions she makes on the test vs pulled from online, as the ones she writes are unnecessarily confusing. The only reason I was able to squeeze out a passing grade on test two was by pretty much learning the entire class through the TA's. Save yourself the gpa gravity check, take online.
This class is supposed to be excel based but rarely ever teaches the excel formulas that go along with the units. All homework and problem sets are through Mcgraw, explanations can be difficult and she never responds to emails and is always "sick" during scheduled office hours. I did alright on the midterms so far, but tests are time-crunches.
By far the most unprofessional professor I've ever had, she cancels office hours before exams, comes into lectures late and moody not wanting to teach her class. Speed runs through slides and does not give thorough explanations. She always leaves doubt in her answers and never gives a clear understanding of the content.
It is a shame and disgrace that one of the first people you meet as a freshman in SOM is Prof. Bugenis. Berating public comments about students' political opinions. Slides get run through like a middle school PowerPoint, no explanation of material, and overall extremely unprofessional when it comes to being available for office hours or help.
Extremely unprofessional. Let politics into classroom after election, was clearly very upset. Almost entire class failed the midterm. GPA tanker.
The only reason Bugenis doesn't have a 1/5 is because she was given semi-decent ratings years prior from her political science students. Bugenis is NOT fit to be a statistics teacher. She often refuses to explain/teach concepts because she "doesn't feel like it" and makes her students more confused than before they came into lecture. AVOID!!!
Not sure how talking about her students opinions on social media is professional as a college-level educator but I guess it is seeing how she makes up her own teaching style based on the mood she's in that day
This class might be the biggest confidence (and gpa) dropper on the planet. At a loss for words at the end of test 2.
I've never done bad in school in my LIFE up until her. Her exams do not match the material that she teaches. Everything is auto graded because she does not want to do the work. Her questions on exams don't even make sense. I sacrifice HOURS of my week just to study for this class to still fail.
I'm disappointed by the lack of professionalism in this class. After most students failed part 1 of the test, the professor offered no support and seemed frustrated with AI tool usage. Bugenis often appears unsure of her own answers, causing confusion. The TA has been more helpful, which isn't expected in a top program.
Known as a +A student. This week I scored a 42% on exam 2. I studied +30 hours, trying to teach myself a poorly taught subject, just to fail. Shouldn't have tried, waste of time. Part 2, all she cared about was preventing anyone from cheating to pass. My exam crashed 15 times, didn't finish, and she said there's nothing I could do but accept my 40%
SHE IS AWFUL DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
SHE IS THE WORST TEACHER THIS SCHOOL CAN OFFER. SHE IS TERRIBLE, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS DO WHATEVER YOU CAN. YOU WILL DO AWFUL AND SHE WONT CARE SHE IS TERRIBLE.
"Ye who enter, despair"
I have been a A+ student at a pretty reputable high school and nearly failing the second midterm is crazy. Cancels office hours before the test and doesn't respond to any emails. The proctoring application she uses is basically a joke and had so many students go up to her and waste their time (on a timed test) to figure out what was going on.
Please Binghamton just remove her as a professor. She is taking an intro statistics class and having the class average be a 45-58%. And, they made her as an S-Core required professor for CQS 312. Genuinely a horrible teacher
horribleeeeeeeee
Gets mad when one person leaves 5 min early, often re-doing attendance. The class is taught so poorly that if you study or don't, you still fail and obliterate your GPA. All she cares about is anime and cheating, not YOU or YOUR NEIGHBOR with the 45% grades that could use some assistance on preparing or excelling on the exam. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Claims on social media to have a irrational fear of being attacked by a student and discloses feelings regarding students political identities
O, what a travesty is this, that in our halls of learning we find a professor most unprofessional, and captive to her own whimsy! For oft, before our very eyes, she doth cast aside the mantle of dignity and indulge in fits of feeling, like storms upon the calm sea of our study. Heed this solemn counsel: take not her class, good scholars!
Prof Bugenis has a lack of knowledge in the subject and it clearly shows from the lectures. She just reads off the slides that she copied from McGraw Hill. She shows no care for the class's well-being by assigning a midterm that was more difficult than any of the homework or content she assigned. If you can avoid this class, please do.
A lot of outside work and self-teaching is the only way to pass. I'm naturally good at math so it was not an issue for me, but people who struggle even a little in the subject will have a huge problem. Also, this class is supposed to include excel teachings but those are very rarely referenced or gone over in lectures or homework.
SHES SO BAD SHE STARTED WRITING HER OWN FAKE REVIEWS LMAO. DONT TAKE
SHE IS WRITING HER OWN FAKE REVIEWS DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!!!!
This is the worst professor! Bing needs to get rid of her IMMEDIATELY! Almost the entire class is failing. We need a different professor for next semester class CQS312. This woman cannot be allowed to teach this class. She's destroying the dreams and the hard work of every student attending her class. Positive reviews being written by herself.
Worst class I have ever taken, almost everyone is failing, no one did well on the exams despite studying, and she doesn't offer any help. Lectures aren't helpful, doesn't know how to answer questions, and had no office hours week of the exam. Never replies to emails and does not do her job as a professor. DONT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS
worst class ive ever taken she isn't helpful at all and doesn't know how to explain the topics she is supposed to be teaching. the exams are impossible to do well on no matter how much you study and she is no help when it comes to preparing for the exams. she doesn't reply to her emails at all and offers no assistance to those who need it.
I had fun getting taught by McGraw Hill smartbooks instead of my own professor, if you take this course you will end up teaching yourself and loosing your mind trying to figure out stats by your self. i just want to pass this course and get it over with, but i doubt anyone is passing that.
take this course if you hate your GPA
I've learned one thing in this class: I am statistically more likely to fail than to pass. This class took my confidence, buried it in a data set, and then asked me to find the mean of my regrets. I thought standard deviation was just a term for how much my mental health fluctuates after test 2. Take if you enjoy crying over numbers
For People Who Hate Math or would hate it, if we could understand what's going on. The professor speaks in 'Data Whisperer' language. Every time they read of the slides, I feel like I'm deciphering an ancient code written in hieroglyphics. When I ask for clarification, they just say, ' the data will tell you the truth,' what does that even mean?
lectures are a bit like a fortune teller reading your future: You don't understand what they're saying, but you know it's going to be terrifying when it happens. Every time I get a concept, the professor throws a new way to calculate a Test Statistic that leaves me questioning why I'm even here. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE :)
After finding out that the class average for the previous midterm was around 40%, she proceeds to tell us how it was so simple, and these are problems we have "seen before". Don't fall for this trap. The class average for the midterm should tell you ENOUGH already.
I enjoyed the class and learning to code, and she always uploaded the code we learned in class so it wasn't too difficult to figure out the material for the assignments from the code and slides she uploaded. Biggest criticisms are the amount of group work and lack of experience.
absolutely horrible, makes me question the university's ethics and ability to hire professional staff. at the beginning of the semester, she had a 13% "would take again" rating, and in THREE months it has gone down to 5%. if that isn't a huge red flag in itself i dont know what is. destroyed my mental health and wellbeing completely.
Because I'm a freshman, I can't drive a car on campus. However, if I could drive to class, I would drive to every statistics lecture without a seatbelt on, because I would want to die before I made it there.
I wish I had never taken this class. Will forever hate stats, her, myself, lecture hall 2, McGraw-Hill, and anything related to this class. A freshman with high hopes, ready to start my college journey, and she has absolutely ruined it for me with her lack of everything. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT take her class if you can.
I hate this class, hate stats, and hate her. All the heavy assignments and extremely hard exams are driving me crazy. She just doesn't want any students feel good.
Dont take this class.
If McGraw Hill went under, this professor would have absolutely no more teaching material. All tests are McGraw, all Homework is McGraw, hell, even attendance is McGraw. It's hard to study for the exam when the practices everyone has BEGGED for are on McGraw. This class is too tedious and taught poorly to not be beneficial to students.
I try to give her the benefit of the doubt because she clearly has stuff going on, but as a student, you need to avoid this class if you can. I'm not saying it's impossible to do well but it'll be stacked against you. Any new info I got from this class was learned on Khan Academy. For your GPA, confidence, and mental health, do NOT take this class.
Taking this class was the worst decision of my life, i clearly tried my best to understand the material and the professor but it's horrible. Every time i had this class i just felt depressed for the whole lecture it came to a point where I just wanted to stop going and now it's going to affect my gpa badly. Advice to people DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Guiness World Record Holder for least competent professor. 100 shouldn't feel like 400 level. WHAT DOES POLI SCI PHD HAVE TO DO WITH STATS? +100 hours struggling to teach myself poorly taught material and super difficult exams for C territory. Class is mandatory just to not learn anything. No one deserves this PAINFUL experience as Freshmen.
CQS 312-definitely more of an engineering course rather than SOM. it was project based so we did 3 projects and 4 problem sets, but they were all extensive and challenging as it is all math. prof bugenis is honestly too smart to be a teacher so it's all reading off slide and no teaching. an A is possible if you try hard and see the TA.praying for u
awful teacher, needs to never teach again
awful, never again.
Absolutely the worst teacher I've ever had. I'm writing this two months after finishing the class because I couldn't bring myself to give a review before. Politically motivated, spews hateful and derogatory remarks towards students, speaks on socials about students, and doesn't teach anything. Intro class felt like a 500 level course because of her
horrible. i was going to write a bad review after i took her cqs312 class but thankfully she isn't the professor anymore for it. cqs 112 made me and everyone dread our mandatory cqs312 course, knowing that she would be teaching it. she's constantly angry and making everything seem like the student's faults instead of her own.
No just no
Absolutely horrid. Should be fired, no idea how she was given a job in the first place
I never leave reviews, but this is a must. All I'll say is BEWARE. The bad reviews are true, she knows she controls your grade, and if you get on her bad side, you're in for a rude awakening. Not sure why she's teaching in SOM. Didn't grade a single assignment until the end, so no one knew their grade. Take this as your warning and STAY FAR AWAY!
She completely plummeted everyone's grades. Not only did she tamper with grades, but she also put her students' futures at risk. Opportunities for internships, or even to apply to a graduate program, are at risk because of her selfish motives. I do not know why she is teaching at a bright institution.
Nightmare irl
One of the worst people oat
