OMG she was by far my fav teacher there. She was super easy and made class fun. She was hilarious too. All projects were easy to do and very helpful and the final exam was a breeze, she is your go to for Sociology, wish she would teachmore classes

Alison is the BEST teacher I've had at Moraine. I took her for Soc 101 & 102. I wish she took more classes. Her class is enjoyable to go to, and is always a fun time, she connects sociology with real life and makes it so easy & fun to learn! I HIGHLY reccomend her! You won't regret it.

Prof Lacny is a great teacher! She keeps you interested in the subject even if you aren't interested in it to begin with! Her tests are hard but if you pay attention and read the chapters you should do fine. If you are willing to learn, you'll enjoy her and her teaching styles. SHE'S GREAT!!!

Really good teacher. Went on maternity leave and got a super chill sub. She was very easy and laid back. Tests were kinda hard though because she didn't put what was on it on the study guide.

love her! she explains the material very well and she is super fun. her notes are mostly definitions. she says that you need to read the book for the test but the notes she gives are all you need to study. we only had one essay and she helps you with it.

Her lectures are very engaging- she knows who her audience is. You wont be bored! Her tests are a little bit more difficult, sure, but just a little studying will get you far. She will give you THE GRADE YOU DESERVE. I never knew sociology could be so entertaining!

I took her online sociology class & she's so organized and helpful. We didn't have a final and due dates for online quizzes and discussion board posts are given in the syllabus. I actually read the chapters in the text & took notes which were lengthy, but some answers are online as well. Great teacher for it being online! :)

Absolutely awesome teacher. Tests are easy if you study straight from the book. Notes taken during class will collide with book info, so its all good! Great class, super helpful, super clear on exactly whats expected.

Best professor I've ever had! She makes you WANT to go to class. Keeps things fun, interesting, and she's hilarious! Lectures didn't even seem like lectures, but rather seemed like conversations + were super relatable. Plus, we wrote an awesome Music Paper, and watched a couple great movies.

Mrs. Lacny is by far my favorite professor at Moraine. She keeps her lectures interesting and makes sure you really understand the material by using a lot of real world examples. Everybody is saying the tests are really hard, but as long as you study and make sure your prepared, you will do fine.

she's a great teacher, definitely would take her again. is there for her students. loves what she does. knows her stuff. tests are rough but if you study youll be fine. talks about her kids, and brings real life examplesstories into the class. everyone in my class got an A or B. it is an easy class if you apply your self. great over all.

Lacny is such a great person. She is so funny and open and her assignments are easy. She covers material quickly and the tests can be tough for those who don't study/read from the book, but there are test corrections too. She's a wonderful professor, would definitely not mind taking again.

I took this class online and it was the best ever! There was about 6 DB's we had to complete the entire semester, take 10 quizzes, read the textbook, and that's it! I seriously loved it and did not feel worried at all that I wasn't going to get a good grade. Seems like a very nice lady and e-mailed back very quickly. TAKE HER!

Best Professor at Moraine!!! Honestly this was the first of 2 summer classes I'm taking at Moraine and it was super easy. Literally read the chapters!!!! There is no way you will not get an A in this class... SO EASY!! Also read the readings she gives or posts, those are where her extra credit opportunities come from! Overall love Dr. Lacny!!!!! :D

One of the most amazing women I have ever met. Dr. Lacny is smart, hilarious, and really cares about her students. She has a passion for teaching and for sociology. Read the chapter she assigns after each class and you'll be good to go. There are 4 multiple choice tests per semester, including the final. Highly recommend Dr. Lacny!!

Class was super simple. All homework was in the syllabus. 10 quizzes and 6 discussion boards. she's super sweet and understanding. just do the work and its an easy A.

I took her for a 3 week Summer class. She's the funniest teacher you'll have. She relates every concept to the craziest thing so you'll remember it. There were only 4 assignments and the final but she gave extra credit, Ended with a 98.5% in the class. For sure would take her again.

I took her soc-101 class online over summer. It may have been because it was a summer class. but there was only 16 assignments for the class. 6 group discussions, and 10 quizzes. no midterm or final exam. Quiz were easy if you read the chapter (or took the quiz open book) group discussions are easy A if you put in a little effort and honesty.

She is amazing. I took her online sociology class and she was great! No midterm and no final. Honestly one of the best classes Ive taken online. She always gives you comments back on your discussion boards which makes me feel like she actually takes the time out to read what each student wrote. Fair grader. Quizzes and discussion boards were easy!

Negatives tests are kinda hard but if you study and study you will pass. Positives She's the nicest and most caring teacher ever and really funny too. The assignments are pretty easy too and gives some opportunities for extra credit.

Manageable assignments. A discussion board every once in a while of over 600 words, a quiz every other week. Just be sure to read the textbook and participate in the discussion boards and you will do more than fine.

Professor Lacny is the best! I took her class as a 3 week summer course. I thought I wouldn't like it at first because who likes summer classes right? Well she made me really enjoy it! She is very caring and funny. I ended up with a high A and still remember a lot that I learned. I love how she relates topics to us so we can understand it easier.

Incredibly easy class but not waste-your-time-easy. Mrs. Lacny is hilarious and seemingly wants to be best friends with every student she has. Barely any homework, never had to write a paper. Her exams can throw you off if you dont study but youll be prepared by the second exam. EZ A, a wonderful class to be in with a great teacher.

I took the online summer version of Soc 101. Incredibly easy. There were 10 question quizzes every week that were pretty common sense right out of the book as long as you read, four discussion boards throughout the whole semester that were also very easy and she graded them very easily as well.

She is a very good teacher. I was nervous to take an online class because usually online classes are so much harder since you are on your own but she is really helpful. Everything we do , quizzes and boards are all in the book. She is a very nice and approachable teacher. I would take her again if I could. :) highly recommend

I really loved having Lacny as a professor. She is hands down my favorite professor I've had. She's very bubbly & has a great sense of humor, which makes class fun. Participating in this class is not difficult at all, she makes the environment so welcoming! If you have to take soc101, definitely take Dr. Lacny if you can- you won't regret it.

I took Dr. Lacny's hybrid soc101 class. Her lectures were amazing. She used great examples during the lectures that helped the material stick. She has an amazing personality and she truly cares about her students. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!! Her instructions on assignments are very clear and you are guaranteed to pass the class with an A!!!!

Easiest sociology class at Moraine.

Easy A class. Every unit has a few quizzes that are proctored but only 5 questions, and a "project" which are mainly just discussions. Professor Lacny is available outside of class if any help is needed

Although I never got to meet Dr. Lacny because of Corona, she seemed like the sweetest person over email. We only had 2 quizzes every 3 weeks and they were open book. Highly recommend this course with Dr. Lacny.

Overall she is a great professor. I enjoyed Sociology 101 which she used honorlock for. But for the quizzes most of it is is in the book(mostly vocab). Using honorlock she allows notes and textbook use to!! Her other assignments weren't difficult but what i really loved is she has all assignments open at the beginning of the class.

She makes the class very easy and almost self-paced. You can complete your assignments any time before the due date as all modules are open from the beginning. There were two quizzes due every 2 weeks and an assignment with it (usually a discussion). Very kind and understanding over email.

Great teacher. She wants you to put thought and effort into your response.

I took this class over the summer and she has been by far one of the best professors I have had at Moraine! Seriously, this class was great and she was so nice! Canvas page is ready to go on the very first day of class so you know exactly what you need to do and when its due. Just make sure you read the book, the tests and assignments are easy.

I've only had Ms. Lacny for two online classes. And I must say, she's one of the best to have. She's really nice when it comes to extension on assignments and her coursework is pretty straight-forward. I can only imagen how she is in person!

Dr. Lacny is a very down to earth and understand professor. Her course is very lecture based but she uses many real world examples to explain concepts which makes it very easy to understand. Barely any homework. Only two tests in one semester. Very easygoing and hilarious.

Great class,Great Professor. Been awhile since Ive been in school and her summer class was the first online class I ever took. The set up is super easy to follow along with with clear instructions and great feedback. Also any time I did have questions she responded right away. As long as you do the work you should have no problem passing her class.

I am about wrapped up with SOC-101 with Professor Lacny and It was a great time. The online course consist of quizzes about every two weeks with discussion forms. There is no final too! My favorite teacher ive had at moraine. Not only is she extremely understanding shes a very easy grader. She gives great feedback and doesnt have a lot of assignments for this class. there is not a single assignment where she didn't comment "Keep up the hard work," sometimes she will say that she liked what I said and how I think. I also couldn't find her the classroom book so she let me borrow her book and I kept it till the end of the semester. Make sure you follow the rubric and you will be fine!
