She explains very well. Always asks if we have questions. Her tests are hard but she explains the material well in class. She never missed any of our classes even though her sister was in the hospital in Las Vegas.

Very patient and tries to help all students to understand. For those of us who are mathematically challenged, she can help make sense of things. Assigns alot of homework, but DOES NOT COLLECT IT. Doing it will only help your comprehension. Only caveat, tests probs can be tougher than homework.

Test are not hard if you really study for them. The only test that is kind of hard is the second one, the rest are very easy!!. JUST : STUDY and do all the H/W . She gives study guides and h/w activities for extra points. GREAT PROFESSOR. One of the easiest ones

Proves all Mathematicians are not incapable of speaking english. Explains well. Doesn't collect homework. Ask about NASA screw ups in her office. Partial credit (must show work). make sure you do the last problems assigned, test questions may come from one of them. don't miss class.

If you need Stat. take Sloan. Period. She teaches so you understand & in STAT thats a miracle! Dont be fooled by her not collecting homework, it MUST be done. She can be curt but dont take it personally.

A good professor, A little fast but I took her in the summer so I guess she had to keep moving... She does make herself avaialable before and after class so it is up to you to make the time. Very fair with the grading. Most Homework is opional and stick by her syllabus so you know exactly what she is doing the whole semester

I took Stats with Allison Sloan for Stats1. She is an AMAZING professor. I have taken higher level stats classes and I cannot pass with the "A" that was so easy in Miss Sloans class!! VERY HIGHLY recommended. I actually liked stats after I left her class and graduated from Valencia!

she is very clear, and if you have troubles with concepts will break it down for you.

I hate her attitude with a passion but she is a good math teacher she really knows her stuff, take her only if you already know a fair amount of math and be sure to be in the class room AT LEAST 5 mins before the class is supposed to start because you can be sure the board is already full as she likes to start before the class does NOT AN EASY "A"

Nice teacher!! She doesn't check Homework but make sure you do it or you'll be lost when the test comes around. Gives a Homework activity/Test Review before the test (worth 50 pts.) Teaches well.

She is a very good teacher considering that it's Stats class. She can also relate to students very well, since she is still one. It's definetely a class that you need to pay attention and do your work, and most of all do the test reviews. They are very helpful. I don't think you will find a better Stat class out there.

If you take her, you need to be at least decent in Math. She moves very quickly and at times she can make you feel a bit stupid if you ask a question just by her facial expressions. Whether it is intentional, I don't know. She's an awesome person to talk to, but her course was difficult, but it is definitely a course you can pass.

I was terrified to take this class, but she was a good teacher and explained things well. Make sure to do the HW and projects and should get at least a C. probably the best Stat teacher at VCC, but beware because she is very sarcastic.

Brilliant! Prof Sloans lectures are easy to understand, and her note packages are straight forward compared to the textbook. She has alot of extra credit throughout the semester. I managed to obtain an A in her class. Be prepared to study hard. You are allowed cheat sheets on tests and on the final.I would highly recommend this professor.

AWESOME TEACHER! She is indeed very intellectual & funny as well. If youre taking her 1005 course, make sure to obide by her rules, read the syllabus CLEARLY, do all the math h.w take home sheets, and never leave early - she gives surprises every once in a while & also excellent attendence helps in the end --so show up each class period! good luck!

I was scared to take this class at first but Prof. Sloan was great. Im terrible when it comes to math and I got a B! Just make sure you dont miss class and do the homework. She is very helpful and grades tests easily. loved her!!!

Ms. Sloan is an intelligent teacher who teaches her class well enough to grasp the concept of college algebra. If you do not pass her class with a C or above which I doubt then you can look at failing as an option.

Professor Sloan is great! She is very helpful. I'm taking stats with her and I had her for college algebra. She does not take any crap, but she is extremely fair. Tests are easy if you do your homework activities and study homework problems. She gives detailed notes and examples. She also allows a cheat sheet (in stats) after the 1st test. Awesome!

I had this class at 7 am in the morning and i was always interested and only missed one day b/c i was sick! show up for class and do your hw and you are guaranteed to pass! she gives out note packets every time weeks b4 the test. she goes through everything step by step. she might talk alotttt but in the end when u understand the math, its very easy. Also after the first test, u get a cheat sheet for each test u take. u get to use that for the final exam too. this class is easy only if you take her.

She is a great professor, I feel she should utilize her Lab time for intermediate algera(1033) more wisely instead of using it as a way of lecturing. We should be allowed more hands-on activities in the lab portion of the curriculum. You will learm a lot from her.

She is a really great professor, but in order to pass you jusst makes sure that you do the homework activities and show up for class. If you dont show up then just make sure you know the material and if you dont then go by her office for the information, she does not mind helping anyone out. take her thats all i can say.

Professor Sloan is awesome, smart, and witty, I enjoyed her class. She's very strict when it comes to attendance, I had 7 am morning class with her, thank god I was never late. Attendance and homework are important to pass the class, her note package is helpful and you get to use cheat sheet for each test

Very nice and helpful!! I am not very good at math and had no interest in the class. Though I didn't do to well, it was only because I never studied and didn't even buy a book. She still helped me a lot and is always available to help. She's extremely dedicated to teaching. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Took her online. material is difficult if you do not know how to use your calc. 4 tests, retake them twice. 2-3 hw per week. responds quickly to emails. as long as you complete all hw, take good notes for tests... you are bound to have an A.

Her teaching methods are very clear and she lets you know exactly what she is testing you on. Overall this class is easy as long as you put in the effort and do the online homework and pay attention and take notes in class. Also having a cheat sheet helps too!

Took her online class it was a lot of hw but you see most of it in the 4 unit tests she is very organized you know what you have to do since day one but you have to be able to work on your own

This teacher is the best! I passed algebra with a 69.8% and I was terrified to take this class. I am taking it online and I passed with an A and loved doing it! As long as you do the homework you can learn it. It is a little time comsuming but because I was doing so well at it, I didnt mind at all. She is very helpful and super nice!

Prof. Sloan is a great prof! STA is not easy, you really have to keep up with HW and lecture. Which by the way, is a lot, but maybe I felt that way because I took this class over the summer. The tests are ok, "you have to study."Make sure you do well early in the semester, that will help you out at the end, if u don't get a good grade on the final.

She's pretty cool. Despite the class being 4 hours long!!! she made it bearable with videos from major networks(history channel). 2 journal papers, focus paper, and weekly quizzes online that are super easy(open book). Attendance is mandatory and she gives an incentive on the weeks papers are due. Final exam is a power point presentation.

Prof Sloan was a doll! She doesnt grade homework, only recommends you do it. She is very organized in her assignments and the way she explains things is very clear. She cares deeply about her students. Take her and you will be pleased.

Professor Sloan is a great stats teacher! I took her class at Osecola Campus once a week (tuesdays) her hybrid class is so easy. She lets you use a cheat sheet on the tests, quizzes, and on the final!!! She is willing to help you if u dont understand..Study the hw activity and you will be fine.

I've heard of easier stat professors at VCC but she is very good, clear, and organized. I got an A but it's a time consuming class, many sleepless nights. Lets you use cheat sheets, drops 2 HW/quiz grades, replaces a test grade with the final exam grade if it helps your grade. Very time consuming class but she's great!

I took online class and this was a time consuming, but if you do required HW ( 40%), it is easy to get an ‘A’. 3 test (40%) + final (20%).

*AWESOME!* I am horrible at math and I worked really hard but I was able to get a B online. Her class is set-up to make it easy to succeed. You can take each test and even the final online twice. After your first test you can review everything and then you take another similar test. She is also very involved and sends feedback and is encouraging.:)

She can be a verbose from time to time but she explains the material very well. Textbook is mandatory and you have to take it to class every day, so try to get the ebook. Pay attention and do homework and you will get an A.

Even though the class is hybrid I still learned a lot and she explains everything step by step. I am horrible at math but this class made it seem like I am a natural at it.

I put off taking stats, because I just knew I wasn't ready. I got an A in the online section of this course. Professor Sloan was so helpful, and very clear on what was expected of us. 3 units homework and test, and a final. She drops lowest test grade and replaces with final. If you can take this course with her, she was quiet simply amazing.

An awesome teacher! I had no interest in humanities before I took this class but ended up really enjoying it! Hw assignments are super easy, papers are somewhat difficult, just make sure you are always very descriptive. The final is the easiest final you could ever ask for, its just a powerpoint presentation! Finished with an A+ in the class.

Parts of this college algebra class were challenging, but if you're unsure of something, just ask for assistance! She's more than willing to help. Great professor, very intelligent. I did not find her tests to be too hard, with proper studying it's totally do-able. Be sure to complete all homework and you're set!

Her audio lectures don't match the book so save money and use ebook. Homework very similar to tests. Very clear cut assignments; she provided notes to print. 2 HW due every Thur, 3 tests, and a proctored final is stated on schedule but not in syllabus. Not an easy class so make cheat sheets for formulas and write notes from audio too.

I took online class and it was hard for me because there're a lot of assignments, time consuming. However, it's not hard to get an A in this class, no need to be a math pro. All videos and explanations are very clear step by step to help you succeed in this class, also cheat sheet may be used for exams.

Her class is pretty easy. The issue is mymathlab. That software leaves no room for error. It is not clear as to how it wants you to input the answer and she does not take that into consideration. She is the only professor that I ever had that provided homework and a quiz that was due during spring break week. Most people get a B in this class.

MyMath lab is picky when entering stuff. First professor who gives optional notes and lectures in case you want them. Helpful especially with the calculator moves. Do her optional reviews before each test. Made tests easier. I made an A because of detailed notes and helps she has. Use to C's. You'll put in time but you have everything need.

Ms. Sloan is clearly a professor who cares about her students and knows how to teach college level students. She was very clear about assignment due dates. She sends reminders and gives pointers throughout the course, by far one of the best profs I have had here at Valencia. BEST PIECE OF ADVISE: Take the practice quizzes they will help so much.

Prof Sloan is great! Hw every week through mymathlab. Test are easy if you do the optional reviews. Allowed 3 pgs front &back for notes on mid-term and final (proctored exams). Is very clear on the course work from the first day and is available if you reach out for help. Sends reminders for exams. You will pass as long as you do the work.

Professor Sloan really cares about her students, granted that this was taken as an online course. Deadlines are outlined as well as expectations for homework and quiz completions. The content is organized and easily accessible through BlackBoard and MyStatLab. Never taken Stat before, this class is easy to self-learn with resources.

The only reason why I did'nt get an A+ was because I forgot to turn in some homework. Do the practice test and learn how to work the problem, it will help you 100% on the test. I didnt buy the book so I went entirely from the videos posted on My Math Lab. Final is taken at any Valencia testing ctr and she allows notes, any other test are online

Anyone saying that this class is hard is laughable. I took online. UNLIMITED attempts at homework. ALL quizzes and final are exactly the same as sample exams (just with different numbers). Proctored final, but allows a cheat sheet. Just write down exact steps used on practice exam. I got a 98% and I typically struggle with math. SO easy, just try.

The recorded lectures were easy to understand and helped with basic concepts. The professor was responsive to emailed questions, and there were 2 extra credit opportunities. A lot of homework, but that's typical with online math classes; otherwise, easy A.

Liberal arts course was straight forward week to do each assignment due at 5:00p.m tuesday. honor lock on all test/quizs. You are allowed to have notes/cheat sheet easy grade, homework matches all test/quizs. Do hw problems on a sheet you will pass each test no problem. They are the exact same as homework just different numbers.

Easy online course with straightforward assignments. Honor lock on tests but open-note help. Homework prepares you well for exams. Unstuck ai was a great study tool.
