It's his stand-up hour to tell stories he's told us before. It gets old FAST!
in resp. to the other comment about him, stand up comedy is his way of making it a comfortable envir. for students to give speeches. I put off taking speech for years, as I think many do, but I am so glad when I finally took it, it was with him.
Rude, profane, boastful and habitually late.
He is completely unorganized and consistently late. He probably made it one time once even though he promised he wouldn't. More often then not, you don't know what's going on or if he is even teaching. I never met a teacher not interested in the student.
He is the coolest! Yes, he is as they say kind of flaky and can say the same jokes over again, but just laugh at them and he will like you. He is actually a lot smarter than everyone thinks. he also grades easy depending on how nice and respectful you are

Although, he IS late, he admits to it. He does blow his nose a lot, and he does make jokes..but he is funny about them. Those of you afraid to speak infront of others will find it easy with him. He is very understanding of you if you are of him.
The BEST speech prof. Yes, he is late, but who is not late. Students are not late? so what. He is the best prof. to take speech if you are afraid of speaking in front of class. He makes you feel good about yourself. His jokes are funny, too.

He is wonderful. If you have problem in giving speeches, don't hesitate to take his class. There is no stress in his class and you will notice how much you have improved at the end of semester.I love you Mr. Glanzer!

I took years ago. I notice that people don't change. He encouraged you to ask questions but never really answers your question. So you don't ask. He class is okay. The grading is okay. We noticed a certain girl who flaunted got special attention. Others got so-so. His class isn't bad as long you do.
he might be like and hour late and sometimes not show up at all and sometimes repeat his lame but funny stories, but hes the easiesssssssssssst teacher you can take
this teacher is awesome. easy class. he loves to blow his nose a lot. the speechs are easy you can even read from your paper while giving a speech in class. i highly recommend him. fun teacher.
Mr. Glanzer is the best professor u can take for speech. You can read off your paper and you'll get a B+ on your speech...end up with an A in the class. I HIGHLY recommend him.
Ok this guy is the best, funniest most easy teacher I have had. I got a B with out trying. One day he shows up another day he dosent. hes so cool. I recomend this teachr to any one taking speech 101 in the future. Take my word he is easy!!!!!

if you want to take speech, but you don't want to spend a lot of time researching and doing homework, this is the class, but if you want to learn something and be really serious, take something else, it's a fun class, take it !!!!
ok, this class is hella easy, but listening to him ramble on and on is almost not worth it. and another thing, he definitely has his favorites. at times, he ignores the whole class and just addresses those few that he is in love with. he can be **** and is rarely funny. says same stuff over & over
If you are a male student thinking to get this class and possibly get "A"... well you are making a wrong choice,however if your are young gale with nice rack (and you are not willing to any reseach with terrible speech skill) this is your only chance to get "A" ever in college.

This teacher (if you can call him that) speaks in a very condescending manner and talks about everything BUT class content. He was outride rude and I learned NOTHING because he was too busy yapping about his "days as a musician" and the who's-who of rock-n-roll. Several dropped the class and those who stayed hoped he would get the hint. no dice :(
I would not say that he is an amazing instructor, but wait a minute there are many teachers to choose from, but his classes are always full... can someone explain that phenomenon.
Always late. Rambles on about nothing but will give you an A even if you fail the final (which is hard to do because if you all use erasable pens it is verty easy to cheat). Good luck

THE most kick back teacher. Don't do anything in class but talk and LAG big time on the speeches. It took him a month to get the first speech going. He usually just talks and talks and talks. Grades easy too. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN GET IN!
This guy is not worth your time. He is unfair, talks about useless information, and assigns grades based on if he likes you. If you're in the football or basketball team then you'll get an A, but if not, you work twice as hard and still maybe get an A. Biggest waste of my semester.

TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN GET IN..EASIEST CLASS EVER! We only did 3 speeches when other classes do like 7 of them. He even dropped quizzes that we took in the beginning of the semester because we lagged so much on everything. Take him for an easy A.
Stupidest teacher ever seen. Prefers young women and girls. If you are his friend, you will be fine. If not, you will suffer discrimination. Bottom line, a **** class.
oh pleez...these people are wack..Glanzer is an awesome teacher! He's funny and good to get along with. All you need to do is listen to what he's saying and participate in the class discussions to get a good grade. yes he does go on about irrelevant stuff..but hes a really fun teacher. i highly recommend his classes

If you gave speech and your speech was BAD, but if you are cute, HOT, sexy, and you wear nice stuffs, u know .... , you will get an A for sure, no matter what. just try to be sexy and hot , othervise GOOD LUCK, all you have to get is a low C. so don't take him, he is .........

The only thing I learned in this class was that teachers can get paid for doing nothing...He gave me a "B" so I am happy. And he doesnt give alot of work which is good...But...The little work that u have to do is stupid, pointless, & makes the class fall asleep...Hes a nice guy but I dont know how they let him keep a job...This class was a joke
He is the easiest, funniest, teacher ever seen. But he shows a little bit of prejudice. He likes females and the guys who had clsses with him in the past. Basically, you earn your grade based on who you are and not by in class performance.

At first I thought this guy was cool. He likes people who play guitar...tells stories... is occasionally funny. But he really is terrible. Overall he's rude, lazy, and would rather talk about his daughter or his music buddies than ensure that his class understands the material and is well prepared. Wow, this guy gets paid to blow his nose all day. GCC is a great place to take a speech class. Your class mates fall into 2 catagories, A.) Not paying attention to you B.) Dumb as dirt. So when you are up there speaking you may as well be talking to a wall, no stress. Take your time getting to class, he is ALWAYS late. Dress sharp & smile, it helps
I hated this class. End of story. He should be fired for always being late and telling stories instead of teaching. AND OMG! WHAT KIND OF HW is telling people to have sex until they are sore and tired?!?!? WTF!!!!!!!1

Glanzer is by far the best teacher for speech! Great guy, tells you what to do for the speeches, makes stuff clear (easy), quizzes are common sense… talks about his hippie friends, guitar, daughter, (most stories educational) some are not. Be a normal human being do your speeches like he told u and you will get the A.
MR. Glanzer. coolest teacher me and all my friends have had him and all have got A. very easy teacher. if you want to have an fun time in speech with hardly any work take him. very fun class and easy to pass with an A or B 4 sure !!
I can not believe why school hired him. He comes to class without preparedfor work studens. He always come late and he teach a little bit in book and most of the time he talks about his daughter and his hobbies, his social life. If i were a GCC president i will give him a warming. If he does not change the way he teach i will fire him.

I strongly agree with others who were unsatisfied with him. He was terrible. I did not like his attitude. Literally he was looking down on me by being rude. Can't believe he is still here.

I hate ppl who complain...this is a college course the professor is not going to baby you and MAKE you learn information. 3 speeches, final, and of course reading if you want to learn. The final is not that hard if you study his notes and do the readings. He loves ppl who participate and go to class so do that! He HATES slackers.
Very nice teacher. He likes to make the class fun, and loves people to participate. You don't have to agree with him, and he loves when the class argues and again - participates. He is very funny, and I would probably take Speech 101 with him most definitley!

I was taught that education was for acquiring knowledge and skills a person had not yet acquired. Why then was it OK for this communication teacher to humiliate a student in front of the class,in a subject that most adults today fear, and then tell her to just drop the class, though she refuses to give up and wants to conquer her fear of speaking?
Has to be the worst professor at Glendale College. All he does is waste time in class talking about his girlfriend and random miscellaneous events and situations and then decides to postpone class or cancel a speech/quiz. He's absolutely a shame to academics and the teaching profession. How he's the head of the department really astounds me. AVOID.

As a person, he is a nice man.As a teacher. Horrible. Talks about things no what relevant to comm. Get ready to watch him blow his nose every 5 min.. all he talks about is his fiance, daughter, guitars and x navy seal friend. If u want to learn something look else where.

Glanzer was like the uncle I wanted but never had. He's full of life..engaging in humorous stories, intelligence and then throwing in some discipline. He's sarcastic at times, but if you act mature he will respect that. Attendance is mandatory. Don't let this be ur only class for sem. take other classes! ;)

I like him as a person, but as an instructor well...I got an A in his class but he is so unfair, he allowed 1 of the students not to come to the class for the last week (she even didn't bother 2stay till the end of the class after giving her speech)& basically she got Fs on her attendence & participation, she had ok(B) speeches & she got an A!!??
Easiest class you'll ever take. Attendance is mandatory. It's ironic how he gave me a B for being absent twice; however, he canceled class about once a week. No work required. He makes you buy the textbook but we never used it. Take him and go to class you'll get an easy A especially if he likes you.
He is not an easy teacher because he expects you to give a good speech while he has talked nonsense instead of teaching and has cancelled the class all the time!!!
If you show up to class or explain why you couldn't go, raise your hand a couple of times, do your speeches the way he asks too, you will get an A! He talks a lot of nonsense things, but seems interested and you will be fine. The easiest A ever!

He is down to earth! I was scared of having this class but he made every one feel comfortable in class. He is really nice and friendly as long as you finish his assignments on time. He gives enough information and time so that every one would be prepared.
If you are interested to take this class only because you need it and you really don't care about learning to communicate, go for it! Just make sure to show up every class and don't be late. He requires you to buy a book but he you don't need it. If you English skills are good, you will at least get a B. And also follow his guidelines.

If you don't want to learn anything then take his class. I only gave one speech and no test. Professors like him are not allowed to teach even in the kindergarten. He often cancels his classes. We had no final test. He made us buy the book or the code, but don't but it you are not going to open it.
If he likes you, he pull put good grades on your speeches. There are 3 oral speech presentations. YOU DONT TAKE ONE TEST IN THAT CLASS except the final. WHICH IS HARD AND HE DOESNT PREPARE YOU FOR IT. HE SAYS ITS EASY...JUST READ YOUR BOOK...IT WAS NOT EASY AT ALL. I wish i had taken another class instead. Lazy people will like this class

He is by far the EASIEST speech instructor. I HATE public speaking yet i had the highest grade in the class. He repeats multiple times what he expects so as long as you do that you're good. People stand and read notecards the whole time and get A's lol take it. you're good. take him!

Super easy class. He talks mostly about himself sometimes gives way too much info about his girlfriend and him. You give 3 oral reports with vary from 2-6 min. You will barely ever use the book and it is a bit of a waste though he will kick you out if you don't have it. Cancelled class a lot due to illness. But it is a very easy and amusing class.
The Best of the BEST TEACHER. He's very insiprstional and interesting . Tells u so many cool stories . Very helpful caring and nice towards eveyone . Oh Allyn (btw that's how it is actually spelled). He cancelled 7 times & other times class ended early lol. He has lots of stories & get ready for F bombs. Def. volunteer to give speech & get it out of the way otherwise he'll postpone like 20 times and you'll want to die. Need an easy class? TAKE IT. You'd have to be a rock to not get an A.
If you want an easy A bit like getting bored, take this class. He's so boring and all he ever talks about is his life. YOU DONT NEED THE BOOK! You can take your other home works you have and do them in class because you don't really learn anything in this class.
He is soo amazing. I had enormous stage fright when it comes to speaking in ront of an audience but he makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. He will cancel class but he understands its not you fault so you will end up with a good grade. He gives you a lot of helpful tools for the future. AMAZING!!!you will not regret it!!!
Easy A. you probably won't learn much. I literally went to class everyday not worrying and passed. He grades extremely easily. Cancels class a lot. He's a good guy and is really nice but won't teach much. I don't understand those who don't get an A in this class.
Professor Glanzer is awesome!!! Before taking his speech 100, I was stage fright. After my first speech, I felt a lot more confident! I strongly recommend his class.
Prof Glanzer is by far the best professor I have had at GCC. He is super caring and does whatever he can to help his students. The class discussions are very entertaining and ease the pressure and stress of speeches. Takes his own time and lets you come to office hours. I miss this professor and wish I could take his class again! :)
