at first u dont think his class is going to be any fun but he makes it tolerable. He's a funny guy who likes to laugh at people jokes and does a lot of group projects. good teacher

He's a good teacher but make sure to hand in the assignments on time other wise your grade might drop down.

This class is not that bad...Dr. Kanu makes it entertaining...he let us out early a lot and was clear about what he expected from us in terms of papers and presentations. An A in his class is definately attainable...take him!

Mr. kanu's spd229 class is very easy and fun. Just take notes on whatever he writes on the board. He gives us all the questions prior to an exam so we could study it. He's got some funny jokes. For SPD, you can't go wrong with Prof. Kanu

Professor Kanu is the best teacher I've had thus far! I took his class the second session of summer semester.. The class was so much fun! A lot of group discussions and ice-breakers every class, but thats what made it great. He is real easy to talk to, especially regarding papers and stuff. I recommend this for an easy-A!

I just took Dr. Kanu's class this summer (07). From his syllabus, I thought his class was going to be rigorous. It ended up being fairly easy. He is very generous when grading papers and group projects. Exams are open book/open notes. The information is interesting and useful if you take the time to read the textbook, which I love.

Dr. Kanu is a great professor. He seems to make anything at least half-way fun. It may be a little difficult to understand him at first, but you get used to it. His grading is fairly forgiving and as long as you do the assigned work and come to class fairly regularly, you should do pretty well.

This guy is hilarious, he's kind of hard to understand, but that doesn't even matter because you don't need to take notes, all tests are open book, and you can make up your speeches five minutes before you have to present and he'll still give you and A. I think he feels guilty about giving any grade lower than an A!

Easy grader, very understanding if you're afriad to speak in public. On speeches you'll get an A guarenteed. Exams were tough even though they were all open book open notes. They were the only reason I got a B. His laugh is hilarious. Does not email back so you'll have to call him. You may have trouble understanding him at first but it will pass.

He is ok, I got an A, but he worked me too death. You will get a A on all speeches, but the test, will kick ur butt. U need to read the chapters before the test. You dont have to study though. You will get an A in his course if you try even just a little.

Total 1000 pts. attendance-100, 5 speeches-each 100, short essay-100, mid term-100, final-200.. Thats it. and the speech is A guaranteed no matter what, even if you barely speak english. Two tests are not easy even if they are open book tests, but he will give you +5 pts on your final grade if you do simple extra credit assignment. Easy

This class is not for students still struggling to learn English, you will get frustrated. Easy to approach, somewhat difficult to understand at times. The class is very easy and the points are mostly from attending the class and doing his assignments(very easy, sometimes group projects).

Kanu is the MAN! I absolutely love him. He is so nice, cute and funny he laughs like every 5 min :) I swear he wont give anyone less than a 90 on speeches/essays. Excellent professor. He creates a fun, easy learning environment with insightful lessons about communication. Homework will always be online with exception of major papers. His tests are all open book, open note. Encourages participation and really wants to hear your opinions. Although this class is easy, do not think its ok to slack off!

This professor is considered , my my opinion, one of the greatest professors for the communications course. The class overall is an easy A as long as you attend every day. He wants everyone to be good and the environment he leaves his students is very calm and relaxed. His test are open book but still it's not so easy the test itself.

I wasn't disappointed in anything through this class. Kanu was so helpful and clear with the class rules. He explains every word he says with a clear vocabulary. I strongly recommend you to take it if you want to receive an A grade!

Loves teaching and love class discussion. A few group assignments. He grades you while you give your presentation and gives your grade afterwards. You have to have an outline for all of your presentations. Ended at least an hour early. I feel we took advantage of him. U could do ur presentation the next week if u "werent prepared." Dnt need book.

The whole semester will be based on group projects. So it is better to stick with classmates that are responsible and attentive. If you show him you worked for the project even little bit, he'll give A. Though there are 2 tests that are super hard. Make sure to buy scantron and prepare to study with the group mates you'll be stuck with the semester

Not too difficult but expect to be always working in groups. He definitely was open to all individuals. I'm a very talkitive person and always have an opinion and never did he make me feel like it wasn't wanted . I really enjoyed his class and was sad for it to end, you definitely have a closeness with everyone because we open up to one another.

LOVE HIM!! if your a good note taker then you should pass this class with flying colors. Just pay attention. everything is pretty direct. hes inspiring and has done so much in his life, his career. Hes so sweet and so funny. TAKE. HIM. u wont regret it.

Prof. Kanu has the most infectious laugh and is really nice. Don't bother bringing your notebook after the first class, because he repeats entire lectures. As long as you do well on his tests and group assignments, you will pass. I had a Saturday morning class and slept through my final exam. He was cool about it and didn't count it so I got a "B".

Sadly he will be retiring this year. He was great. There are many individual and group projects. Tests are take home but a lot of writing. However everything we wrote was easy to complete.

Nice guy. It can sometimes be difficult to understand his accent but he is an extremely easy grader. Make a basic effort and you will do well, but you will have to participate. Is understanding if you have something come up and will allow you to turn in some assignments late.

How to get an easy A: 1) Complete the discussion board assignments. 2) Complete Midterm and Final Take Home Test (answers found in the book). 3)Participate in group discussions, presentations and lectures Professor Kanu is a very humble, kind and enlightening man. Taking his class was a very positive and exciting experience that I won't forget.

Professor Kanu to my estimation is among the best professors at NOVA. He is so inspirational and has a great personality. Just follow his instructions and will earn an easy A+
