Ms.T goes out of her way to help.Don't pay attention to any negative hype from lazy students. This teacher is an extremely interested,extremely helpful one.Okay, she can be strict, but only because she wants her students to ACTUALLY LEARN SOMETHING. If your prepared to be a good student, take her.

After taking this, I can thank Ms Tsvikyan. Thanks to her I got the basic in maths and I more confident and ready to take more more maths she made me love it. If you are honest with yourself and want to work with your teacher I recommand her and she is great listener and very helpful. I give her Fives!!!!

Take her!!! I learned A LOT more about math because of her (and math is my worst subject).She will give you partial credit on tests if you understand the questions, even if you did little mistakes. The homework she assigns is spread out enough so that you can have time to do them. Shes a very nice lady and HOT for an older woman.

okay so sometimes she forgets how to do things or just doesnt know how but she is so sweet, she tries so hard to help everyone and gives partial credit. the homeworks are long but its math. i would recommend taking her she really really cares about the students.

she is a very thorough teacher who makes all the material as clear as possible and does not mind repeating herself to help you understand. doing homework definitely helps for this class. she can be a bit moody, but that's because she wants things her way, so just be on time and her attitude won't affect you.

In this class you will spend some of your time trying to figure out what she just said and that will slow you down.i would not recommend this class to people who are VISUAl because she only talks about the problem but she dosen't really show you on the board. And avoid sitting next to immature freshmen because they will be a distration.

she goes by the textbook and explains the lesson in a really good way. Although she does tend to jump to conclusions when you ask her a question, like she'll think your talkin about something else when your really talkin about the obivious, all in all im glad im taking her, its good so far.

Im going to miss this lady sooo much. She is an as* kickin top notch professor. She should be the head of the math department, she should hier and fire the other math teachers. She is a beautiful person and a great teacher. She explains everything in detail and will help you before or after class whenever possible. Do the homework, attend class, be respectful, study and you will do good in her class. You can get an A if you work for it. She is a sweet lady with a cool accent, perfectly understandable. Why doesn't she teach Math 31? :0(( This is my second semester with her and i wish i could take her in my next classes too. she's helpful, whenever i asked her questions, she would make sure that i undertood by repeating over and over. it's been 2 semester since math 81 and i still remember everything.

I suggest you don't take her if you can't tolerate a thick accent. She really breaks the math down for you which is good for people who are new to the material. Even though there's a decent amount of HW it doesn't really count and your basically doing the HW so you can do well on the Tests.

The best teacher i have taken at smc! she really cares about her students and will do everything she can to make you pass. She will give you everything you need to pass but it all depends on you if you study or not. 5 exams and 1 final. Also do your online hw otherwise you will get a bad grade.

She is ok, just it's kind of confusing the way she explains i guess, and her accent which is not that hard to understand, but it makes differences too. but after all i like how it's really quiet in her class and u can listen and have time to understand her. she is strict and i like it.

At first impression it seems like she is not clear. But if you pay close attention you will understand. She gives examples and associate different subjects in the lessons. Very interesting class.I feared this class so I left it to the end.

I really like her she is one of the best math professors at SMC. She has an accent alright, but her interest in math and the hard working students success is wonderful. I remember my first day in Professor Tsvikyan's class, we were learning how to add. That was how low I was when I started taking math in college. She explained everything so well and was so detailed that it was impossible to purposely fail her class. She was so good and so inspirational, she inspired me to major in engineering. ALL TIME FAV PROF.

Professor A. Tsvikyan was my professor for math 84 for the couple of weeks before I had to drop the class for fall 2015. She teaches everything from book and usually its lectures. Professor Tsvykian cares very much about her students so she pushes her students to study. Her class is all about turning in the homework ON TIME and NOT BEING ABSENT. If you ask questions, she knows you study if you don't ask questions expect a pop quizz. This class is an easy A . I would take it again and I recommend you to take her class.

Professor Tsvikyan is one of the best math teachers I've had at SMC. Her lectures are very structured and informative, and she reviews the material that is going to be tested before every exam. She gives 5 exams and one final; homework is 10% of your final grade (trust me it helps your final grade, so do your homework!) I highly recommend her!

I had her only for summer, and she may seem intimidating, but if you pay attention and tell her there is something you don't know SHE WILL HELP. u can tell she really cares and she will go out of her way to make sure you understand. + she really helps out by giving questions similar to the test. i recommend her 100%

Professor Tsvikyan is a really good teacher but for some she may be difficult. Overall her teaching methods are quick, however if you have a question she will stop everything and explain it to the whole class. It is not mandatory to attend everyday but if you don't she'll get pissed. Everything comes from the book and she uses Mymathlab for HW

One of the more caring professors Ive had at SMC. She does have an accent, but is more then willing to do anything she can to help students understand the material. If you pay attention in class, work on the hw, and ask questions you will do well in this class. She has a fun sense of humor, and has been a great influence on my semester.

I want to say that I have struggled with math since middle school, so when I started this class I was so scared that I would be utterly lost like usual, but professor Tsvikyan was so great because she is straightforward and explained the problems without using confusing shortcuts. Go to class. Do your homework. Ask Questions.

Professor Tsvikyan is amazing teacher. She truly cares about her students and structures everything in her class to help her students learn and do well. The class has 6 very straightforward tests (lowest dropped), online homework, and extra credit quizzes where every point earned goes towards your test grades. Highly recommend her class!

Shes an amazing professor. I took her in winter for math 31 and I loved her teaching so much I changed my spring schedule so I could take her for the next math. She cares about her students and really wants them to pass and gives every opportunity possible. Be in class and ask questions and shell give you the help you need.

This professor really wants her students to succeed. She takes time to explain everything to her students in different ways. The homework is online and in the beginning of every class she takes a second to ask if there were any questions on the homework so she can review before moving on to new things. Come to class and shell make it easy for you.

Prof. Tsvikyan is a solid professor. Doesn't give a lot of homework, so it's on you to study the material between tests (every 2-3 weeks). Lots of drops, but half the students showed up and were typically unprepared for class. There was a bit of a language barrier; some answers were tough to clarify. Would definitely take another class of hers.

I took Professor Tsvikyan during Fall 2018 for Math 18. She gave a lot of homework be sure to do it all ( 3+or more hours) it was on MyMathLab. Her test is easy if you study and understand Math. I do not suggest people take her if they don't understand basic advance Algebra. No extra credit.

Professor Tsvikyan only gave quizzes as extra credit. So if you failed them no points were lost but if you passed them those points are added to your lowest exam grade.

she is one of the best teachers i have ever had in my life. i took her in my summer class during summer 2018. our class started at 6:55 am in the morning during which many people were kind of sleepy and she would crack good jokes in order to make sure everyone is active. always helps your doubts. like to meet her again.

She is patient, allows time for questions every class/before an exam. Her exams aren't super difficult. Some rates say her accent is too thick and it's hard to understand, BUT SHE SPEAKS CLEARLY! She is an organized professor, and she cares about her students. We need more math teachers that are not harsh graders, and are kind like her!!!

An absolutely wonderful professor, I was initially concerned because my last professor with an accent was difficult to understand and impatient if you asked him to repeat anything which I asked a lot of bc I am not the strongest in math. Mrs. Tsvikyan is the complete opposite. she is extremely caring about her students and explains math simply.

Tough class but was able to come through with the B. I am with the DSPS office so she was nice with me regarding my accommodations. Her lectures were confusing to me. I had to go back and ask her how did you do that problem thinking I would not pass the class yet I got higher than a C!

She cares about her students and I really mean that. She always asks us if we have questions. She would never get irritated by your questions (as most math profs do), she would go through examples with you (using different approaches). Don't be fooled by reviews about her accent, I am in her MATH4 class and can understand clearly what she says.

Very caring and intelligent professor. She wants you to succeed and understand the course material. She will go extra lengths for you in order to pass her class. Beware, review class material beforehand in order to ask her the right questions and she will gladly answer them with no judgement and with clarity.

Professor Alvard Tsvikyan is an amazing teacher. She goes over the problems many times whenever that is a difficult problem or a hard concept. She also don't give a ton of homework and the homework are also pretty easy if you listen her lectures in class. The exams are quizzes are also not super hard.

I remember looking for the best-rated Math 4 teacher, to sign up for the fall class, and I stumbled upon Prof. Tsvikyan. First day I was crazy nervous, because some of the reviews said it was hard, but after taking her class, she is by far the most caring, and motivational teacher that actually got me interested in learning math. Professor Tsvikyan is the sweetest, most caring professor, especially for math. She teaches in a fast pace but makes time for questions. She is great at answering emails and cares about her students. Literally one of the sweetest professors. You're set as long as you keep up with the homework and try to do at least two sections before class. Quizzes are returned before exams and work as a great study guide. The only way you can fail this class is if you don't put in time to study!! Super easy to talk to especially if you participate a lot.
