Great teacher, extremely nice guy. All quiz's are done at home, and the 3tests in class match quizzes exactly. I reccomend it, and i have an A in it. If your willing to give about an hour per quiz you'll get an ez 100. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE QUIZ ON-TIME!!

This guy is fair for students who can simply follow directions. The quizzes are open book and the exams are based on questions that he gives you the answers to. You have to be lazy or stupid not to do well in the class.

This class is easy if you follow directions, quizzes online and tests directly from quizzes or class. He is republican but I wrote all my papers bashing Bush and the republican party and got all 100's so he is definitely open-minded...and HOT.

What a bunch of babies...Prof. Q's class is not hard at all. He gives you OPEN book quizes and 2 weeks to do them, he takes test questions from the quizes and from the chapter tests in your book. EASY! repeatadly tells you when assignments are due, yet people still dont do them. This was an easy A!

EASY A. Open book quizes on webct. Easy written assignments. Real easy going attitude makes for great class discussions. Serveral extra credit options. He even let us do the first test over at home with open book after many did so poorly the first try.

Mr.Q's class was very cool and personally I rather hear him talk about other issues than on boring presidents. He is truely the best teacher to take if you think US Gov is boring because he makes it very interesting. he is also nice to look at and offers a ton of extra credit! Highly recommend!!!!!

He's fairly easy as long as you take his online open-book quizes, do his papers, and take lots of lecture notes. Tests are based on lecture notes and past quizes. Quizes could be spaced out more than every week. The class is especially hard if your taking a full load of classes and working too.

I think that if your bad at showing up to class, this is not the one to take. Attendance is important. You have a quiz due every week, and the Tests are anything but easy. He might curve though. I think that his views are funny and he makes the class interesting.

Nice teacher, keeps lots of office hours to help students. Not a lot of work, but you can't be a slacker on the 3 papers because he is very picky about proof-reading, layout, and substantial content.

This class will pump you with so much political science knowlege that you will rule any argument you have with the "other guy" in the next election go round, and isn't that what it's all about? Exams are touchy, 75% is quiz ques., the other 25 is just book reading. Papers are a sinch. Excellent teacher!

I hate politics with a passion but I liked this class. He made it interesting and with all the extra credit he gives an A is easy. He does talk alot but that's because he loves this subject. He knows alot about our government and he is good at relating it to younger people. He expects everyone in his class to act like an adult and I love it.

He tells you how to get an "A". The quizzes are online (1 a week) and right out of the book. The exams are "so-so", but with all the extra credit you can get an "A" easy even if you avg. 75% on the exams. Definitely take him.

I took this class during the summer session. Papers were fairly easy, one quiz per chapter you take online so its open book and 3 exams. He's a great teacher, I learned a lot. He is extremly knowable about the government. I overall did really enjoy this class. And he kinda looks like Nicolas Cage.

Class was alright. Tests were hard. He will even say himself that he didnt expect us to do good. he'll show south park and dave chapell...but only thing bad about him was he'll talk all period and then try to teach and take roll all in the last 5 mins...very dramatic, he'll tell untrue stories that make no sense just to be funny. He's VERY annoying

Really cool guy, funny, interesting, HOT! His tests are really bad, he even admits it.. but there is so much easy extra credit its not hard to get an A, regardless. Really Buff. Conservative when it comes to the Economy but Socially Liberal. He's the kinda guy you'd want to hang out with, drink a beer, and watch the game.

He is really funny with a sharp wit. As long as you get good grade on the Quizes, get A's on your paper and Extra Credit...you don't really have to worry about the test. The tests are easy if you read the book and come to class every meeting for 25 points EC, which could make a big difference between a pass and fail...

I never cared about politics until I took him. He really gets you invovled, and interested. His tests are hard but with the extra credit the class is very easy. Take him, you won't regret it!

He expects youto come to class on time and not miss more thatn half a dozen classes, so if you are someone who misses a lot of class you may look elsewhere. Other than that the tests are a little difficult, but all quizzes are open book and there is ample extra credit. Anyone who fails this class just did not care enough to put forth any effort.

Professor Quackenbush is the best professor I've had in my two years at Valencia. He has a "university" style of teaching and is very intelligent and interesting. Go to class, complete your work, and you will do well in his class.

Let me start by saying he takes attendance very seriously. If you miss too many classes not only will you be unable to pass any quizzes and tests, but he will drop you from the course. He even give you extra credit for showing up to every single class (25 pts). He is very witty and shares a general distaste for idiots not unlike my own.

Quackenbush is an amazing professor. He knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. Also, even if you mess up some quizzes or assignments, he gives extra credit for just about anything, so you can make it up. His classes are also very interesting, because he related current events to things he is teaching.

Whoever says this teacher is not good is just stupid. I have never been held over class, actually he lets us go a few minutes early. Last semester he asked for the title of the book on an exam and three students got it wrong. Probably the one who left the comments above.

The class was not a cake walk but it was not hard either. He was willing to give extra credit and did his part in helping me get a good grade. Study for the exams and do all the quizzes and you shouldn't end up with anything less than a B.

He seems to have a bit of an attitude, but helps with online, just trust me don't take summer a or b take the whole summer class, or you will have no life at all for 5 weeks. All in all, interesting, hard tests, easy papers. Not bad at all.

Mr. Quackenbush is one of the best teachers. He responds to e-mail quickly. I took his online pos 2041 class and it was very easy. Just do the postings and quizzes on time. You got one week to do them. Also three paper assignments. And three exams. The postings and quizzes are important part of your grade. I recommend him.

He was really nice! I took his online govt class and it was not hard at all. He responds quickly to emails and really cares. He does everything he can to help you out. For and easy A or B I reccommend this professor..the class doesn't keep you tied down either.

GREAT teacher. His lectures are interesting and although there can be a lot of material he presents it well. If you are habitually late don't bother taking this class, though. Although he was nice and funny he gave late people a really, really hard time which was fun to observe!

This guy talks for 15 to 30 minutes at the beginning of class about NOTHING. He likes to talk and doesnt provide examples for essays and things of that nature.

I took his online class and it was relatively easy. I learned a lot even though I'm not really interested in government at all. Quizzes are done on WebCT and tests are given in the testing center. Study for tests! Other than that, there's three short papers to be done. He's a good professor and it's a good class to take.

Funny, cool guy. Class was fun because we got into active debates and he occasionally tried to have class outside when it was nice (which is rare). I hate Gov't, but I looked forward to this class, because it was interesting, for the most part.

This teacher is an awesome guy, he taught a subject that is normally boring, but with his attitude and livly personality made it an easy class to pay attention to. This guy has an awesome sense of humor, which I think is very important. If youre into government, or International Politics, I would highly recomend him.

I took his online American Gov class. One quiz and discussion each week. Open book quiz and easy discussions to write. You deff need to study for test. I used the practice quizzes on webct. That was really helpful. I even saw questions from them on the test but only a few. I made a B in the class. Take Him!

Have him for my ONLINE class. Hate the class, but it's easy. All you need to do is take the weekly quizes (open book), do the assignments and take the test. One thing I do not like are that test are done on campus. There is a reason why I am taking an online class, because I can't make it to school. Other than that, easy guy.

Took the online honors class. One Quizz and discussion posting every week on WebCT from 1 chapter from the book. Three Tests are taken at the testing center and they are pretty hard(have to do all the readings so don't get behind with it).

DONT TAKE HIM. I had him online and stressed for a B. His test are VERY hard and you dont really know what to study. Trust me, I got the lowest B, and hated this class.

Took his honors class. Yes, it's true, you do actually have to do work. But he's a great teacher, talks about very interesting subjects, and really challenges you. He was so good that I'm thinking of changing my major to political science. If you want an easy class, don't take him, but if you want to be challenged and interested, definitely do so.

I took his online international politics class. Overall its an easy class if you do the work. One chapter per week from the book...then you do a quiz for that chapter and a discussion post. 4 tests that you take online and 2 papers as its a gordon rule course. No final. Nearly impossible to not get an A unless you don't do the work.

Int'l Politics Online. Very strict deadlines. Weekly chapter quiz & discussion. Two 5-page papers and 3 exams. Not hard or complicated course. You need to read & get your work in on time.

Honors. It was... Okay. He is an interesting person, and his lectures can be as well- it's just that those lectures are more often than not about things you are not studying, things not on the test. He tends to interrupt students, which was irritating. His tests can be detailed, so read the book for the test rather than his powerpoints.

Took the online course. It is impossible not to get an A in this class unless you simply do not do your work. One chapter a week with a quiz and a discussion post. 3 papers, and 5 tests. I wish more classes were like this.

Probably my favorite professor during the semester I took him. It was during the election so the class really helped understanding everything on the ballot. Cool guy, pretty easy class. We watched South Park whenever the episode pertained to the subject we were learning about. Plenty of opportunity for extra credit!

He talks a LOT about useless stuff and is very loud. He likes to show South Park which is pretty cool but his tests and quizzes sometimes have random.unnecessary questions. He likes his Guinness.

Honors course was just challenging enough, he was direct about what is expected, seemed to be fair with grades but not with applying classroom laptop rules. Highly recommended.

Seriously guys, once you get to college, you have taken middle school civics and High school US government. THIS IS THE SAME CLASS. All the information is still the same, just one or two new presidents. He goes off topic constantly and shows only slightly related videos. He is interesting to talk to however, and his tests are easy.

Took Us Government with him online and it was the easiest class ever, i also learn a lot. i did not have any interest on the subject but he makes it interesting with the discussion points. for me it was a great experience i pass the class with A. he post extra credits and drops the lowest score. find a partner right away and it will be even easier.

I got 100% plus 63 extra credits left LOL Go to class everyday and be on time + Take notes carefully + Read the chapter summary and keywords + Go to SL sessions = guarantee for an +A. I took this class online and it was very easy. Weekly discussion posts and weekly quizzes and 5 exams(most of the questions are from quizzes). Keep in mind this is online so you can use your textbook for all of these but you are timed and only have one chance (no biggie though). He gives powerpoints and you rarely need the textbook. Provides E.C.

Great teacher. However, he is very high strung and a bit loud at times. Tests are fairly easy, but he seems to expect students to be as interested in government as he is, which isn't the case at all. He curses occasionally which I didn't have a problem with, but I guess some people really mind that. Overall, he's good at what he does.

I'm taking his class online right now and I absolutely hate his American governing assignments. Most of them take up a lot of time and give no benefit towards the test at all. I can't ever tell what type of questions he might ask on the test. Most of his messages on blackboard are really condescending. Almost as if he expects us to slack.

Extremely knowledgeable, has a passion for the content. Relates on a very easy level to understand, uses examples that young people can relate to. If you listen to the lectures you don't even need to read the book honestly, he covers almost everything in class.

Quackenbush is an awesome professor. He's smart and funny. He tells stories and we sometimes watch Southpark episodes that touch on the particular subject we had been talking about. He will help you if you need it. He jokes around and is just really easy going. I loved taking his class. If you're taking government, take him.

Loved this class, professor is super knowledgeable, really funny & overall easy to listen to & watch for a class period. You neeeed to read the book though, his tests do include topics covered in the book that may not have been covered in class. SL is super helpful too, I would have died w/o it.

I took the online class and it was pretty easy? The quizzes are all from the book and you have lots of time. The midterm and final exam are timed but he gives you 2 hours. Not a problem. I'm not sure what people are saying that you have to come to campus. There is NO coming to campus unless you miss a midterm or final exam and its up all week.

Hybrid class is easy and meets once a week. Gives you 40 points extra credit for attendanbce but takes off 10 each time you miss class and 5 if you are late so just be there for the 15 class meetings. My class is filled with students who never take notes or even read so I understand why he gets frustrated. Lots of students here are not serious.

Lots of Extra creit. He gave us a 30 point short paper, 5 points for an email at the start of class, and several opportunities for going to see guest speakers on campus. Never had to go to campus. If someone went to campus it was because they forgot to take the midterm or final online. Not sure how that happens when he posts announcements??

He gives you chapter outlines, vocabulary flash cards, online exercises, and even emails you relative videos. I'm not sure why people say he does not teach?? The midterm and final are timed so they take a little studying but that's it. There is even extra credit. Not sure who can't do well in this class???

Only reason this class was difficult for me is that I HATE government & politics. The book is very hard to read & will put you to sleep. Otherwise, the class is easy with lots of extra credit points (65 total) were available, but, he does offer different extra credit opportunities to his hybrid class than he does to the online class.

A good online class, so I don't know what people are complaining about. There are weekly modules- not timed. They take about an hour per week- not 6 hours. There is a midterm and final that are timed. You have 80 m/C questions and 2 short answer. That's only 1 minute per question and 20 per essay. That's only enough time if your PREPARED.

I took this class as a hybrid and we spent most of our class time in discussion I love his views on everything and he likes to hear from the students & their thoughts on current events. He is also really funny like not teacher funny but actually funny. This class was a great experience lots of extra cred

The set up of the class is really easy, I actually learned a lot in this class. Each week a new module opens, you do the reading and take the quiz by the end of the week. Offers an extra credit assignment. You don't need to buy the book.

Weekly: 3 quizzes (3-4 m/c) 1 quiz (20m/c). All answers online and in short material given by him. No book necessary. 2 tests and 1 final (final global). Quizzes are timed, but more than necessary time to finish. Class is and easy A.

This was my first online class but he was very helpful. He's very clear with what he expects and answers all questions. You are assigned 2 chapters and have 2 weeks to read, take notes (they're provided on powerpoint), and take the quiz. The final isn't cumulative- thank god. One 1500 word paper. The material was very boring- it's government.

I took Prof. Q at UCF! He is AMAZING. His tests are super easy BUT (and do not disregard this) YOU HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS. Literally his 4 tests + final are based off of what he talks about in class. I made the mistake of missing many classes and had to settle for a B when I could've easily had an A. He tells you everything you need to know in class.

I had him back in 2009 for US Government. We mostly watched clips from South Park that related to what we were learning. From what I remember he was pretty cool. Tests were really easy, mainly because the multiple choices always had like off the wall answers so the only one that fit was the one that actually made sense.

This online class is super easy. I took it over summer and it was the best decision I've ever made. He releases tests and homework every week. The assignments take a minimum of an hour. Midterms and Final are easy if you've read over the chapters.

I took him online. Chapter modules are due weekly, a few multiple choice questions and a timed quiz (usually on quizlet). Drops 3 lowest module grades. Midterm and final are 70 multiple choice questions (again, quizlet) and 2 essay questions (semi-difficult). Overall, a pretty easy and straightforward class. You'll need to study with the textbook.

Had this professor twice a week and lectures were always entertaining. Quiz every Sunday on the chapter we learned that week, answers straight forward from the book or google. No actual assignments just the weekly quizzes and 3 exams, the 3rd exam is also your final. Pay attention and study some, you should pass the class.

I'm not sure what students are saying abut assignments not being posted. Every date is in the syllabus and he even posts announcements when big assignments are coming up. As for midterm and final, they are tough. However, he grades everything very easy and gives a lot of extra credit. Don't take this class if you don't want to work and learn.

I had this professor on campus and he is very fair and super nice. His tests are hard but offers lots of extra credit and grades easy. Don't be fooled by these haters who use quiz let to take their tests.

I have taken this professor twice now and he is very fair and understanding. His tests can be challenging but midterms and finals always are. He offers extra credit, drops low scores and even lets you do some assignments twice keeping the high score. Anyone who says otherwise has an ax to grind.

When I first started this course I wanted to cry because of how hard it was but once I got to talk with the professor it turned out much better. His quizzes are so hard but somehow I still managed to get an A. He drops two lowest quiz grades and offers lots of extra credit. He is very nice and cares for his students but I'm glad this course is done

Good class and learned a LOT. He makes class interesting and offers extra credit. His online class is fair, it you are good at online. Some people should avoid online as we all know.

I took his class over the summer online, & it was A LOT OF DETAILED READING! You have a quiz weekly & he drops the 2 lowest grades. You also have a midterm & final that is each over 8 chapters w/ 2 attempts at each. Take GOOD notes from the book and companion website. All tests are multiple choice w/out a study guide. There's also a 2000 word paper

This professor is just great! He really knows what he's talking about and makes the class super interesting. Also offers a lot of extra credit and drops your lowest test grade.

He is the best Valencia professor I have had so far. So knowledgeable in the topic and it's impossible to fail the class, he drops you lowest test, and 2 lowest assignments, and lots of extra credit! Answers emails fast and addressees any questions. Not to mention he is HILARIOUS. Take him

Overall easy course. A few discussions every other week. 10 question quiz due every sunday. Super easy, you can google the answers, some might be wrong so check textbook as well. You have to read full chapters. 2000 word essay due before the final. Final and Midterm are easy, involves vocabulary, multiple choice & 2 essay questions. Take HIM.

If you fail his class you are either lazy or put in NO effort. As long as you do every assignment you CANNOT fail. He drops 3 of 16 quizzes, 1 of 6 discussions, allows you to take tests 2X for the higher grade. The course was online, so yeah, you must buy the book and read but each chapter is only like 30 pages and this is college. Great Class.

Honestly, the class overall wasn't horrible. He was just tough on my group because they kept skipping class so he made all the quizzes and exams in class. As long as you memorize the vocabulary for each chapter you'll be fine for quizzes and exams. Also, makes you write a big 2000 word essay, you should take this essay very seriously, worth a lot.

I absolutely loved this professor. He understands most students dont have a single class and cannot shift their focus to his class only so he gives you very little work. Is willing to work with you if you have any questions. Absolutely recommend!

I took his State and Local Government class he had wonderful discussions about different policies related to local and state governments and very open minded and made in the class interesting learned information that we can apply every day. There was a discussion posts and quizzes each week and 3 tests and 2000 word essay.

This is a Gordon Rule writing course and the Professor has a written assignment that is a MINIMUM of 2000 words. He tells us this in the assignment, syllabus, syllabus quiz, and announcements. It is amazing to me that student's can't follow directions and figure this out. It is also amazing how many shoot for the minimum in college.

If you can simply follow directions, this course is an easy A. The teacher has syllabus for assignment, a calendar, posts weekly announcements, and sometimes sends out email reminders. He even lets you submit work late for partial credit. Anyone who fails this class does not log on or can't follow simple directions.

This is a good professor. He gives recorded lectures, powerpoints, online vocabulary, etc. He insists on the writing assignment being a minimum of 2000 words, but he tells us this over and over. Anybody who complains about it does not read directions, at all. Other students who complain about this must not take their classes very seriously.

I took this class over the summer. HW was done on InQuizitive, got as many tries to get a 100% in the assignments. About 6 discussions mostly opinion based with little research needed. Only a midterm and final no other tests. Exams have writing portions but are about things that went over. He provides videos and powerpoints. Quizlet friendly class

It is a lot of memorization, so you will have to study, but that goes for any class. If you tend to not read textbooks, just know you will have to read the textbook for this class, but there are also videos to help you on canvas if you are still struggling.

Professor Quackenbush is really not as bad as some of these reviews make him to be. If you just show up to class, do good on your assignments, and try on the exams, then you'll get an A. He gives extra credit for just showing up to class so you can essentially get free points. He says you need the textbook, but I never bought it and still got an A.

Very nice professor, had clear grading criteria, accepted late work with 10% late penalty per day and his overall assignments were very simple and straight forward. Just make sure discussions are at least 5 sentences per post or he takes points off, otherwise he's a great professor and an easy-grader in my opinion.
