I wouldn’t call him the GOD of math, but defiantly an “Angel of math” that GOD sent down to Miami Dade to help the troubled math souls, and inspire and better prepared the gifted math souls. I took him for 6 weeks Summer A. He was successfully able to teach Calculus in such a short amount of time wonderfully. His exams were multiple choice and pretty simple for the most part if you study enough/a lot. He let's you know important things that will be on the exams. He also gives slight curves as well

He loves his subject, the tests are easy since they are multiple choice. 90% of the class should walk out with a good mark. Its almost fail-proof, that's how easy this class was.

He is one of the greatest math/calculus professors i've ever had. Setting that aside, his tests are borderline tough. We had 5 tests, all with 31 questions, multiple choice. Time plays a key element. He knows his subject inside-out, he teaches with great consistency but at a brisk pace. Take him if you wish to learn WELL, he is no easy A!.

Took him for 1033 & 1105. Great teacher, Explains one section per class and is very easy to understand. You will have to pay attention and attend if you are to understand. Grade is only baed on 4 test plus final. Final is optional for 1105. He writes the hw that helps you study for upcoming test but are not graded. Would recommend.

I took him for a hybrid precalculus/trig class. I'm taking him for calculus. He's an amazing professor. You take 4/5 tests & the final isn't required but if you do badly on a test, it takes the place of that one. HW isn't required, but you should do it to do well on the tests.

If you do not study everyday for this class Your gpa is going to drop faster than the gas prices this year. There's no HW or extra credit but he's very nice and willing to help.

He was very understanding of the situation and made the class simple. he showed you what you needed to know in the most logical way. if you have questions he stops and answers because he cares that everyone is on the same pages

He is awfully easy. Optional final if youre satisfied with your grade. Homework isnt mandatory and the study guide definitely helps so the homework isnt necessary to do.

So his class was originally suppose to be blended but ended up being asynchronous No homework, just four exams in total. He would have like 20 minutes online if anyone wanted to connect to ask questions. Great study guides, that were super accurate. He helped me because I failed one exam due to stress with midterms and he let me retake it. He cares

Professor Dominguez explains the math very well and clear. He does give homework (optional), but does give mandatory exams. However, if youre satisfied with your grade at the end, the final is optional.

Is not an easy class, you have to study. His lectures are clear and tries to teach them in the simplest way. The class is based on 5 exams and an optional final. He's always available after lectures if you have any doubt.

This professor was okay for me but I never really understood his lectures. Lucky he has a lot of resources in his blackboard and just look at section videos as well as I did the test review. I probably won't take this class again because it's not my learning style and I felt like I didn't grasp the concept of this algebra and I genuinely like math.

Straight to the point and thorough method of teaching. Professor sends additional materials to help study and review for exams. No homework, just proctored exams. Understanding and sweet person. Easy enough for every and anyone to pass this course.

Prof. Dominguez is truly a gem in MDC. He teaches with precision and simplifies everything behind the symbols of calculus. If you pay attention, nothing will be unclear at the end of class; if needed, you can ask after class and he will gladly clarify. The grade is determined by 4 tests, and an average of 85+ is an A. Take him if you want to learn!

This guy knows his stuff and cares about you knowing where the formulas are coming from. Anyone who enjoys math will have a good time and those who only take it for the credit will still do good. However, don't think you can get an "A" just by attending lectures and not practicing. You still need to practice outside of the classroom. Very friendly.

Don't get me wrong, he is a good caring professor. Though, I highly suggest not taking him if you're horrible and i mean absolutely bad at math. If you struggle to learn it, don't risk a W. Homework/discussions are 10%, tests are 20-30% (forgot), and mid/final is 30% each. Must need a 60% or higher on the mid/final to pass or you will be dropped.

Proctored Midterm exam and Final, annoying amount of homework, not hard just time consuming

He's very nice and responds quickly to emails. The midterm and final are each worth 30%, which are proctored. Unit tests worth 20%. Homework assignments are averaged out and worth 10%. Discussions worth 10%. He also has practice tests on canvas which are exactly like the actual ones so if you do that and study what you did you will do great.

Homework and tests are through ALEKS except for the midterm and final. He has practice tests for the chapter tests, midterm, and final which are EXTREMELY helpful. They have the same types of questions so do them. There are 4 discussion assignments through canvas. There are lessons on canvas and through the textbook. He answers emails

Homework was pearson, and test were paperbased in class. he sits and doesnt really look around but he will often stare. u have to go to class or not you will be lost. he goes over the chapters well, you just need to study alot. he only graded the homework and test

I took MAC 1105 online during summer 2024. This class was incredibly easy. In fact, it was so easy that I managed to get a 100% in the class. As long as you can effectively manage your own time, you will get an A. Just watch the videos, do the homework, and do every practice test. The unit/midterm/final tests ARE the practice tests.

Alvio's MAC1105 class is manageable if you put in the work. Use the practice tests and Unstuckstudy to prep - they're super helpful. Attend class, do the homework, and you'll likely get a solid grade. Not the easiest math course, but doable with dedication.

He follows his syllabus to the T. The homeworks aren't too long, the tests are very similar to the study guides. Sometimes it's a little difficult to understand him just because he has a bit on an accent but he's always happy to help. Attendance is mandatory because we met once a week. Will always answer emails and overall a good class.

This professor is amazing! he is super kind and seriously cares about his students. he offers a study guide for each exam and he is always available for help after class. If you are looking for a math professor for college algebra, take him!!!

Professor Dominguez is the best math professor. 4 exams throughout the semester and provides study guides that are very similar to the actual exams. If you put effort and practice the problems, you will pass this class! He is very caring to his students, he also provides a final to replaces the lowest grade. Do Pearson before the semester ends!!!!

Overall a manageable class if you apply yourself. It is not the easisest but can be done. Professor Dominguez reached out a few times during the semester to make sure we were keeping up with our work. No complaints. Would take him again.

The best math teacher, I failed this class twice with other teachers. Passed with an A with him. Best teacher I've probably ever had tbh. Do your homework and study for your exams his study guides are all you need he's the best.

Truly one of the best professors MDC has to offer in any subject. Deeply knowledgeable and teaches from a proof-driven perspective. His passion for the subject matter shows in his lectures. Also flexible and accommodating.

Best math professor I've had. He provides plenty of resources to do well on exams and is great at explaining.
