I had Mr Haywood for 2 semesters,2 different courses! He's great & I bet he remembers every student he ever had, I hadn't seen him in 3 years & He still remembered my name, Overall a great guy!!

Haywood is an awesome teacher. I've been out of his class for 4 years now and whenever I run into him he still remembers me as well as other past students of his. His class is very interesting and he really gets you over your fear of public speaking.

He is so funny. He really likes his videos about the government screwing up peoples lives...His class is soo easy. All you do is watch videos and talk about stupid crap.

He does have good abilities about his speaking course.

Alvyn is by far the best professor/teachor/instructor I have ever had. He knew how to bring the point across and help if it was needed. He made me feel calm and the class feel like an extened family. I highly recommend his to any student who needs help

An amazing charismatic teacher. he cares about his students and let's everyone know what he expects right off the bat. if you don't meet his expectations, you might as well write off passing his course. he will work with students to help in any way possible. beware, he is very outspoken as well.

He is cool, but he's all about propaganda. He even tried to say that we don't know for SURE if the 9/11 hijackers were of arab descent. You can't be a sheep in his class.

I have rarely had as much fun in any class as I did with Prof. Haywood. He's crazy, insane, curses a lot, but had a great class, taught clearly, and knew the subject. We had a great time, and learned what we were there to learn.

Prof. Haywood is the best teacher I've ever had, hands down! Public speaking makes me sick, but he made everyone feel so comfortable and welcomed that all fear was gone by the end of the class. Take EVERYTHING he teaches, you won't be disappointed!

this one of those classes that thankfully is stressed in class involvement....which i always liked. ALyn punches the involement into hectic combo. Basically he's one of the better teachers ive had so far. his grading policy lacks clarity, but what he expects of his speakers is clear. He gets the class involved in a compelling matter.

Good professor! Although the syllabus did say only 5 oral presentation in front of class, at the end of the semester we ended up doing like 10! I did all 10 and yet he gave me a B. Im not complaining though, my speeches werent that good. I guess if your good at standing in front of 30 people you'll do just dine and get an A.

Professor Haywood pulled no strings for me. He takes his students and his material serious as a heart attack. I took Mr. Haywood's Human Communication class. He made every class entertaining and is very funny but don't let that fool you because he is very strict when it comes to grading your speeches. In addition, all speeches you present he records you! He's a stickler when it comes to the 3 absences and you're out so try not to miss his class.

Very good professor. He is Inspirational but also hilarious at the same time. Now I'm much less uncomfortable to talk in front of a bunch of people. CMN 111 is annoying due to speeches, but he was a joy to be with. What an experience; an absolute pleasure to work with!

He takes the fear out of speaking in front of people in his very relaxed classroom setting. I am sure glad I took this class with him, couldn't imagine another professor being this chill. He makes public speaking as easy as possible, but it is still difficult. Best advice is to write your speeches exactly how the outline says and practice reading it until you can remember most of it. Have no fear about this class, professor makes it a fun and relaxing environment to deliver your speeches. A must take professor for this class.

Professor Haywood makes public speaking a breeze. His clear guidelines and relaxed classroom vibe take the fear out of it. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for speech prep - highly recommend taking this class with him.

GET THE CONNECT CODE. You don't really need the textbook to pass, but you NEED to do the lessons in order to pass. Rest of the class is mostly speeches. Sounds scary, but it isn't bad, especially if you actually listen to his advice. Also he is very available after class, and he really cares about his students.

Awesome professor! Not a fan of public speaking but Professor Haywood makes it so much less intimidating. He's hilarious but truly caring and will help you improve no matter what level you're at. Haywood is easily the best professor here at Mercer. He deeply cares about his students & he made this class very inviting where students get to freely share their opinions/experiences. It's a discussion based class so there's no lectures, you just read the chapters assigned prior to class and then have a class discussion. I definitely recommend!

Great teacher, class was very easy even though we had to do speeches but they were not difficult. Makes u feel comfortable in class and very supportive. Definitely recommend

As someone who could barely get a few words out in front of a group of people, Professor Haywood truly helped me see and achieve my full potential. As he always says to us, there is a method to his madness! I took his class my freshman year, first semester, and I am forever grateful I did. Take his class seriously and I promise it pays off!

He makes public speaking easier. The only thing I didn't like is he never posted the grades for the speeches. He's fun.

Probably the best professor I had all semester. Super kind, caring, and funny! You can tell he loves the class a lot and he always loves chatting with the students. You have to do 5 speeches throughout the course but he makes you feel secure and not nervous.
