Prof got first 4 weeks of lecture formulas wrong. Gets example question in lectures wrong. Practice question answer key commonly wrong. Doesn't know her own questions. Nervous speaker and reads off slides.

She doesn't teach well. She takes stuff from that textbook and even with that, all her answers are wrong. She also kept changing the values on midterm questions. Oh and her spelling is on something else.

Just generally bad, mad so many typos and mistakes in math, lectures, exams and quizzes. Overall not a very fun experience.

Often every lecture had mistakes in the formulas making them a waste of time since I have to learn them on my own. There were even mistakes on the midterm. Would not recommend.

This instructor does not know what she is doing. Lecture notes to not match review notes, answer keys or other formula sheets; can't trust her. Every other lecture has mathematical mistakes/errors and half of the next lecture is spent reviewing how to do the previous things correctly, this causes a lot of confusion.

This prof was basically illiterate. Her slides were horribly written, and answer keys to practice exams were wrong more often than not. There were several mistakes on both the midterm paper, and the final exam questions, which she corrected during the test period. Horrible prof, decently easy course though.

Had no clue what she was doing. Answer keys where often wrong and she had no idea how to do any of the practice examples in class. Not sure how she managed to get this job, whoever hired her should be embarrassed.

She does not answer emails, and lecture slides and homework are full of mistakes, and these mistakes are in very important spots too. Can't even ask for clarification because she doesn't answer emails!

holi moli, prof always seems so nervous, making mistakes in her work AND IN THE HOMEWORK THAT CONTRIBUTES TO OUR GRADES. SOME OF THE QUESTIONS ARE ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE-not as in hard, as in literally impossible to do. The one day she was sick and TA taught the class, I learnt so much more, and preferred them much much more.

This class gave me plenty of time to catch up on sleep without missing anything important. The professor will spent more than 10 minutes on a question that should take at max, 4 minutes, so feel free to close your eyes and catch up on those lost hours of sleep or do homework for other classes.

You will get more out of this class by watching YouTube videos related to the topics. Lectures are boring and reads directly off the slides, messes up on calculations done together as a class and denies it by saying “I'll check the values later but this should be right”. Assignments had errors leaving it sometimes impossible to get questions right.

Overall, heavily not recommended. This professor purely reads off of slides, and contributes little to none with class activity (for example, questions and examples). In addition, will not help even tho there is no tutorial that comes with this course. Therefore, avoid at all cost in near future for APSC_O 182.

All lectures consist of reading slides and spending way too much time on examples. She fails to understand the meaning of being a professor as its easier to read her slides than understand a single word she says. Truly unbearable class and I would never wish to have her as a professor again.

She never provides anything valuable to the lectures and simply reads verbatim off the slides. Better off just studying the notes posted online. She can't even do practice problems correctly as she constantly makes mistakes. Save yourselves the time and energy and do other meaningful things.

This professor purely reads off the lecture notes and does not add any additional useful information. She consistently makes errors while completing her own examples in class and often takes a lot of time from the next lecture to correct her mistakes. Overall she makes a fundamentally pretty simple course quite difficult to understand.

The absolute worst professor I have ever seen or heard of. I think a middle school teacher could teach this better than whatever she is doing. The content isn't even hard it's the teacher who makes it more confusing and makes so many mistakes in the notes and the slides, so you have no idea what is true or not.

This professor needs to be fired, if you take this course please consider reporting her to the dean of administration because this professor did not get her doctorate from a real university. Please be advised to STUDY doing the practice questions VERY FAST otherwise you will not finish the midterm on time.

It's impossible to understand or succeed in this course because the prof doesn't know what she is talking about. She constantly makes mistakes in her practice problems and her slides are riddled with spelling mistakes. If you absolutely have to take this class don't bother going to the lectures and just try your best to teach yourself. :/

Made the midterm ridiculously long and would not stop yapping during the test. Forgot to put up required values that were needed for one problem and wasted ten minutes. Lectures not worth going too, the henchmen from fortnite are more literate then she is. Consistently mispells at a second grade level. Absolute embarresment to the UBC name.

Report her to the dean. Midterm was 45 minutes for 5 long, lengthy, hard questions. Quite unfair considering last years cohort had 80min for 4 questions.

This professor is the worst teacher I've ever had. she only reads off the slides and I am honestly unsure if she understands the material herself. The unacceptable factor was that she gave needed values/constants on the midterm halfway through the test, resulting in a heavy loss of time and effecting all subsequent questions.

Avoid having Alyse Kiesser as a teacher. She struggles with the material, reads off slides, gets examples wrong, and often says she'll post corrections (usually wrong) on Canvas later. She provided incorrect values during the midterm and changed them after 10 minutes.

Alyse Kiesser fails as a teacher. Her lack of engagement is downright horrendous and deeply concerning. She does not seem to be invested in her teaching or in the success of her students. Her lectures are basically novels since all she does is read off them. So I recommend skipping her lectures so you don't get confused by her bullshit.

Genuinely terrible at delivering the course material. Couldn't even solve the example questions in the lecture without the answers beside her. Didn't give a vital constant to the students taking a midterm, resulting in time wasted for that section. Result of which made for an unfair midterm between the two sections

The midterm and the way the prof teaches id not great. The midterm everyone could not finish im time as 50 minutes were given for way too many questions. The teaching style of the prof Is not good and you don't gain any information for going to the class

This professor does not set students up for success nor understand the content herself. She forgets necessary constants on exams making the questions impossible to solve. Teacher is terrible in every way. Forgot to provide constants for a midterm, provided them midway through the exam. In the final 5 minutes she changed constants value without notifying anyone forcing recalculations during crucial time period. Never take her class. I HATE HER. She reads off slides and once the slides are changed by someone else, she doesn't know what to do. SHE SHIULD GO BACK AND REDO UNDERGRADUATE. Course is not hard but she is so difficult to understand and compensate.

This professor seems too comfortable resting on tenure. Lectures are dull, riddled with errors, and lack respect for students. Thankfully, the TAs make the class tolerable. If teaching isn't her passion, she should focus on research. Her approach gives first-year engineering students an unnecessarily negative start in an already tough field. Horrid

Whoever gave two stars should reconsider everything

Don't be mistaken by the two stars, though her lectures can be straight forward, nearly everything else in the course is a complete shtshow. Lack of response to emails. Horrible labs. Horrible tests. Completely disorganized.

Absolutely terrible prof. Just her ability to teach is to blame. TA's replaced her for one lecture when she was sick and did a much much much better job. Can't do any of the examples she has in her slides, she tries, but then gets em wrong. TERRIBLE

Literally the worst professor.

The material of this class is not challenging, the way it's taught is indecipherable. This class is a slog. Professor Kiesser is not strong teacher. She doesn't answer emails. We don't get marks back. She stumbles over her own lecture slides every class. The way she teaches you're better off not attending lectures and just self studying.

She was reading from her slides all the time and made so many mistakes while solving problems in class. She spent a lot of time on the easiest slides but just almost skimmed through the hardest ones. Assignments were way harder than the problems from the lectures. Wouldn't like to take her class ever again.
